______________
My eyes went wide with tears as we listened to the treasured melody of my mother's lullaby when I was little.
"We couldn't get you a paintbrush, because, you know, you don't paint, but here you go," Papa handed me a beautiful music box with my favorite lyrics engraved inside its cover.
Constant as the stars above,
always know that
you are loved.
"It wasn't supposed to be a farewell gift, but I'm more than happy that you found your mate, my Julianna," my mother uttered with wistful eyes.
With the memory of what happened a while ago, I smiled at the gift, already keeping it as close to my heart as possible.
I kid you not, it was hard to let my brothers agree into letting me go. They were livid! Papa had to order them to stand down as I was ushered inside the car, "Make him beg!" Zion shouted.
I couldn't stop my cheeks from being red once more with the fiasco earlier in Pennsylvania. I willed myself to peer at what he was doing, only to see him staring back at me.
I squeaked and immediately faced front. It's been almost an hour of flying and we still haven't talked to each other.
Initiating conversation.
No, Bella! Initiate retreat!
"Hello, sexy mate." My wolf purred out loud, controlling my actions. I let the ground- well, in this case, clouds- swallow me and cried inside.
A series of snickers turned coughs followed through the area, and Storm (was I allowed to call him that?) looked surprised and speechless.
"I'm so sorry!" I managed to sneak out. My wolf growled, displeased that I had to apologize for 'just saying hi.'
"It's...okay. Your name is Yzavel, yes?" I nodded, silently turning into mush when he uttered my name.
"I am Storm." Yes, you are, bae. I reprimanded my wolf with narrowed eyes and he looked at me confusingly.
"Oh, I'm sorry, it was my wolf. She's..." He only sighed and gave out a small smile, as if understanding what I was going through.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to interact with you during the party. It was your birthday and I didn't want to be a disturbance," he explained.
I wanted to shake my head in disagreement; I wanted him to be a disturbance that time.
Instead, I only laughed it out and said, "It's okay, I understand. You were also busy talking with my father." We were reduced to an awkward silence after that.
Bella, what do I say?!
Oh, so now you want me to talk?
Bella!
"You like Barbie, eh?" I almost forgot my family and I had an audience when we had that moment. I shyly muttered an agreement. It was awkward again until someone introduced himself to me.
"Hello, I am Khal, this awkward teen's Beta." I giggled at his comical remark, and soon, everyone was introducing themselves to me, with the occasional blows to their Alpha.
Storm lowly stated he was not a teen, and despite knowing this truth, we all laughed at his childish reply.
I found it calming that they weren't like those stiff bodyguards I always see in the movies. I mean, they were though, before I got to know them.
The pilot informed us that we were about to land through the intercom, and we all prepared ourselves. Our wolves didn't like being off the ground for too long, so we understand their excitement to step out of the plane and into earthly soil.
__________
Slowly rubbing my eyes open, I saw Storm staring at me. How long was he waiting for me to wake up, and did he carry me to the car?
"Yzavel, we're here," he said. I looked through the window and assumed it was still early in the afternoon as I saw a lot of people roaming around.
I stared straight at Storm's eyes, anxiousness written all over my expression. He only opened the door and held out a hand to me, ignoring my nervousness.
I took his hand and stepped outside. My wolf was ecstatic to finally feel the ground beneath her feet. I, however, was not.
Several curious eyes paused to double check what they were looking at- their Alpha with an unfamiliar woman, hand-in-hand.
Storm was greeted by many people, but he didn't stop to greet them back and instead, nodded once in acknowledgement. I heaved a relieved sigh when we finally got inside their pack house.
He lead me to what I assumed was his office and let me sit on a couch in the far left corner. I think this area was left for lounging, "Stay here. I just have to go get some things before we go." Go where, exactly?
There was another set of double doors to the side and he went in. I was bubbling with curiosity as to what lies beyond, but stayed rooted to the spot I was in.
My legs were unconsciously bouncing along with my heartbeart. I couldn't take it anymore! Just when I was about to stand, the door where we stepped into opened, revealing a gorgeous woman.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know the Alpha has a...visitor."
