Part 4

The following day, Sarang reported to work as usual. "What do you think you are doing here?" Joseph asked.

"What do you think?" Sarang retorted. "I'm here to work." She gave him a friendly shove as she walked towards Mr. Anderson. "I'm sorry for all the trouble yesterday."

"Don't worry about that. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. The doctor said that I could come back to work."

"I'd feel better if you rested longer."

"But Mr. Anderson...."

Mr. Anderson raised his hand to stop her from arguing. "If you won't go home and rest, then you will have to go to the office."

"What!"

"You need rest Sarang" he placed a hand on her shoulder. "If there are any major issues, they can always call you. Go to the office and handle the paperwork that has been piling up." Then he turned and addressed the group "I'll be tied up in meetings all day, so Joseph will be the contact person on site. If there are any major issues, I want to be notified immediately."

Sarang reluctantly went to the office and immersed herself in the paperwork that had piled up.

"Aww, poor Sarang is stuck in the office." one of the crew members said as he entered the room.

She tried to ignore him, but another crew member walked over to her desk with him and said "Come on now, we don't want our little princess to get hurt." she continued to ignore them while they teased her and managed to finish her paperwork by lunchtime.

She stood up and grabbed her coat and hat. "Where is our princess going?" one of the guys teased.

She was about to tell them to mind their own business, when the secretary came into the room and said "Sarang, you have a guest!"

Sarang walked out of the office and saw that Sungjong was waiting for her. Afraid that the guys would just tease her more, she spoke in Korean. "Was there something I can help you with?"

"You do know Korean!" Sungjong replied excitedly. "I knew it!"

She rolled her eyes "What do you want?" she asked again.

"Right" he claped his hands together. "I wanted to thank you for yesterday. Want to go out for lunch?"

The other office members could hear them talking and were curious about who had come to visit her. They walked out and instantly smiled. "Ah, so the damsel has come to see his heroine" they joked.

Sarang quickly turned to Sungjong "Lunch sounds nice, I'll be right back." She went back into the office, grabbed the stack of papers from her desk and put them in an envelope. Then she walked into Mr. Anderson's office and left it on his desk.

She ziped up her coat and adjusted her hat as she walked back out of the office. "Let's go" she said to Sungjong as she rushed past him.

Sungjong was confused, but happily followed her out. As they were walking down the street, Sungjong turned to her and asked "Where are we going?"

"What do you want to eat?" she questions back. He looks at her confused and she giggles. "What type of food do you want to eat?" she rephrased her question.

"Oh," he begins to think "I don't know" he answers honestly. "What is good around here?"

She smiled and said "Follow me." She leads him to a small restaurant on a side street. "They have the best food here."

They sit down at a table and the waitress takes their order. While waiting for their food, Sungjong begins to ask her questions. "How long have you been working as a stage crew member?"

"About three years now" she replied "But I was always involved in the performances during high school."

"Wow!" He smiled. "Were you an actress?"

She looked confused. "No, I was a part of the stage crew. Why did you think I was an actress?"

"The way you handled the press was amazing. I thought that you might have done some acting."

"Oh" she was surprised by his response.

"You really could pass for an actress though."

She laughed. "Please don't joke. I know I'm not nearly actress material. Plus..." She sipped her tea "No one would think I look like an actress."

He looked at her seriously and said "I would." Her heart skipped a beat.

After lunch, they continue to walk around the city together. Sarang stopped and looked at one of the window displays.

"Is something wrong?" Sungjong asked as he turned to see what she was looking at. He smiled when he saw that it was a woman's clothing store. "Did you want to buy something?"

Sarang turned around nervously "No! I'm good." She looks down as she starts walking away. "Besides, nothing in that store would look good on me."

Sungjong grabs her by the arm and drags her into the store. The staff approach them and ask Sungjong "Can we help you?"

"We would like to buy a dress" Sungjong replied.

"We have many dresses that would look lovely on you" the staff member flattered Sungjong. Then turning to Sarang, she said "I'm sure your boyfriend would agree."

Sarang turned to leave, but Sungjong grabbed her by the arm. Then he pulled her hat off and said "The dress is for my girlfriend." He dragged Sarang around the store and picked out a dress for her to try on. Then he brought her over to the dressing room and pushed her inside. He tosses her the dress and says "Put this on." Then he shuts the door and takes a seat.

Sarang put the dress on like she was told and nervously exited the dressing room. As she walked over to Sungjong, the staff couldn't believe how beautiful she looked in the halter top dress he had picked out. "Turn around and let me see."

She turns around like instructed and the store staff gasped. She walked over to the mirrors to take a better look and sees the bruises across her back. She suddenly becomes very embarrassed by her appearance and was about to run back to the dressing room when Sungjong walked up behind her and back hugs her. "You look beautiful" he said as he kissed the back of her neck.
