Part 3
"Thank goodness you are okay" Sungjong said as he hugged her tighter. "I was so worried about you."
Sarang winced in pain and tried her best not to show it, but let out a little scream of pain.
Sunggyu came over and pulled Sungjong away from her while Hoya stood beside her and asked "Are you okay?"
Sarang smiled and said "I'm fine." She looked around and noticed that the entire group had come. "What are you guys doing here?" she asked.
Woohyun looked down and noticed that she had dropped some papers. He picked them up, looked at them and smiled. He looked at her and asked very plainly "Sa Rang Hae?"
Sarang looked at him and noticed that he had her discharge papers. She immediately grabbed them from him and gave him a glare. Then she turned and faced the others once more.
"Guys, I think we have a problem" Sungyeol said pointing at the television. The television was on the news and they were reporting on the incident that had happened at the stage. Apparently, they thought that one of the members of Infinite had been the injured party. "And that's not all. It looks like KBS is here too" he said looking out the window.
Just then, Sarang's phone rang. "Hello?" she answered it.
"Sarang" came the friendly voice of Mr. Anderson. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine. I was just discharged" she replied.
"Good" he said with a sigh of relief. "The reporters have been calling all afternoon regarding the incident."
"Really?" Sarang was shocked. "They are camped outside the ER right now too."
"Well, there shouldn't be any problem with that. Just go home and get some rest."
"Mr. Anderson" she began cautiously "The idol group is here with me. They won't be able to leave the hospital with the reporters out there."
"What are you suggesting?"
"Let me give them an official statement."
"And what are you planning on telling them?"
"That a batten fell because its support rope failed. That I was the injured party, not a member of the idol group." She took a deep breath and continued. "I also plan to tell them that although they were at the venue at the time of the accident, they were not in any danger because they were not on the stage."
"Sarang....."
"Mr. Anderson" she interrupted him "This is the only way for all of us to come out of this with our reputations intact."
"Very well" he replied "I'll let the PR team know."
"Thank you, Mr. Anderson" she smiled contently. "Goodbye." She let out a heavy sigh and turned to the members of Infinite. "Don't worry about a thing. I'll take care of it." She turned to leave and was immediately pulled back.
"Where do you think you are going?" Woohyun asked.
"I told you, I'll take care of it." she replied.
"How?" Sunggyu asked.
"My boss just gave me permission to give an official statement regarding the accident." The guys looked at her in surprise. "Don't worry about a thing." Woohyun let go of her arm and she smiled. "I'll be right back."
She walked out of the ER and approached one of the main news station's van. "Excuse me" she called out to one of the workers.
"I'm sorry miss, but you can't be here" he said trying to direct her away.
"But I have information for you"
She tried to peek his interest, but failed. "If you have anything to say, please call our hotline. Now if you will please step aside."
She tried to approach the other local news stations present, but they all had the same reply as the first. 'Call our hotline.' 'Step aside.'
She had all but given up, when she was approached by the KBS producer "Hello, Miss." he said with a slight bow. "I couldn't help but notice you trying to talk to the other stations. What is it that you were trying to tell them?"
Sarang could see that he was sincere in wanting to know. She smiled and bowed back "Hello, my name is Hae Sarang. I am one of the supervisors of the stage crew from the venue. I was trying to give them information regarding the accident, but they would not listen to me."
The PD was surprised that she was speaking in Korean, but took in everything she said. He thought for a moment and said "Would you mind giving us the honor of being the first to report your statement?"
Sarang smiled and said "Sure!" The staff worked quickly to prepare her for the live broadcast.
Once she finished making her statement, the news crew thanked her for her work and quickly packed up their supplies and left. The other news stations saw what was happening and quickly checked the international news.
"What's going on out there?" Sunggyu asked.
Sungyeol looked out the window again and took in the situation. "It looks like the KBS crew is leaving."
"Really?" Sunggyu questioned happily.
"Hey guys, this news station is saying that the accident was because the support failed and that the injured party was a worker at the venue. They also said that we weren't in any danger" Dongwoo translated the news report for the rest of the group.
"But we were on the stage and Sungjong almost got hit" Woohyun retorted.
"That may be true" Sarang said walking towards the group "but this was the best response I could give given the situation."
"What do you mean by 'The best response you could give given the situation'?" Woohyun asked.
"If I had said that you were on the stage at the time of the accident and that you were in danger, then the concert venue would probably have artists cancel their shows. Also, if I had said that one of you had been pushed out of the way by a girl and that she was hurt in your place, your image would be tarnished and your fans may not like that."
The members looked at her in awe. They couldn't believe that she was able to think so far ahead in a split second and come up with a statement that would benefit everyone. Sungjong looked at her and couldn't help but smile. "It looks like the reporters have all left" Sungyeol said while looking out the window.
"We should probably go now too" Sunggyu said nervously. "We don't want to be caught here."
"Shouldn't we offer her a ride?" Sunjong asked as he turned to face Sarang once more, but she was already gone. "Where did she go?"
