-_Prologue_-
A cold, tense, chill stirred in the air, everything quiet. Something suddenly moved closer to a small stream, its eyes gleaming in the dark.
It appeared to be a cat wandering around the silent forest. The cat crouched down beside the stream, lapping up some water. A different figure could be seen behind him, but he didn't pay any attention to it.
He just kept on lapping up water from the stream, minding his own business. The second cat, who was hiding in the bushes, narrowed its eyes. This cat seemed to be a young she-cat. She was well hidden among the bushes.
She crouched down, moving out of the bushes. She moved closer to the cat, keeping her tail low. Once she was close enough to the tom, she flattened her ears and leaped at him. The tom whipped around, letting out a yowl of shock.
The she-cat lashed at the tom with unsheathed claws. The two wrestled together, hissing and spitting at each other. Finally, the she-cat had the tom pinned. He stared up at the she-cat, his teeth bared.
"Say goodbye, Robinsky." the she-cat hissed, lifting up one yellow paw over the tom's throat. Robinsky let out a yowl as the she-cat pierced her claws down his throat, slicing it open. Blood poured from the wound on his neck.
A different tom came from behind some bushes, trotting over to the two cats. The she-cat looked up at him, her gaze calm "Well done," he praised the she-cat, staring down at Robinsky's body "Now, it's time to get rid of Gorsestar."
"But how exactly are you going to be able to do that?" she asked, tilting her head "Simple, just kill him as many times as we need to." The tom meowed, cleaning one paw. The she-cat glared at him.
"We?" she questioned. The tom nodded "Mhm, you and I are going to set up traps specifically made for him to fall right into." he explained, a smile on his face. The she-cat flattened her ears against her head.
"I prefer to be alone," she hissed, lashing her tail "Then, why did you help me kill Robinsky?" he asked, staring back at her "I only helped you because I couldn't stand him being deputy." she lied, not wanting to tell him the truth.
He stared back at her with a smirk on his face "I can smell a lie coming from you," he rumbled, unsheathing his claws. The she-cat glared at him, baring her teeth "Shut it, mouse-brain." she hissed, walking past him.
She paused, looking back at him one last time "Don't think that I will like you anymore as a deputy, Falconclaw," she growled, anger flaring up inside her "You'll still have to listen to me!" he called as she walked away.
Mouse-brain. She thought, lashing her tail as she trotted back into the forest. But now that he's dead and out of the way, I have a possibility of being deputy. She thought, a smirk on her face. I'll just need to get Falconclaw out of the way.
