Act 4.3
The sun and the moon go back and forth. My mind keeps sleeping. Registering nothing.
As my soulless body walks aimlessly in the fort. The capital's recruits and a Hunter walk by.
"Don't worry, I killed a monster before," Kilom says to the Hunter.
"Oh that's right," the Hunters respond, "that fire-breather."
"WHAT!?" My mind snaps awake, turning around. My hand extends out in the air, aiming at Kilom. As I pull it in, Kilom's body flies towards me.
"What are you doing!" Kilom screams at me. Not being able to move as his helpless body floats in front of me.
"Stop this!" The Hunter yells at me pulling their sword.
Aurem runs at me, but with a flick of my wrist she slams the wall. I command the stone within the walls, and they hold onto Aurem, "Let me go!"
The Hunter goes to help Aurem, and I pull Kilom closer, "WHO DID YOU KILL?"
"I killed no one you crazy witch!"
My last memory of Rose flashes. I see her body laying in a bed of sunflowers. The sunflowers vanish and I see the truth. I see Rose laying in a bed of bloody snow.
I touch Kilom's head, "ONE LAST CHANCE! WHO DID YOU KILL?"
"I killed no one. Last thing I killed was a monster in the blizzard."
I spread my consciousness to Kilom's head. His weak mind fights back, but I easily take over. I search his memories of the blizzard, until I find something interesting.
I stand in the middle of the storm. The wind and snow are pushing me. My side is hurt. I have my sword pulled out and I am using it as support to stand. It's not great, but it helps. I can't see Aurem around. I am lost.
"Aurem!" I scream with the little strength I have. There is no response, only the wind.
"Aurem!" I try again, screaming louder.
"Recruit?" I hear a faint scream. The sound of the voice fills me with anger.
"Recruit!" the voice calls with joy. Running closer to me.
I turn and see a vile creature. A monster acting like a woman. With orange-sun hair, yellow-gold eyes, and caramel skin.
"Recruit the fort is that way," the monsters pointed in the opposite direction I was heading, "Gustav is also searching for you two."
The monster walks closer, radiating a warmth ready to attack. It grabs my free hand, "I'll guide you."
I face the monster and stab my sword in it, "Don't touch me!"
The monster falls to the ground and I do as well. Pushing my blade deeper. The disgusting face shifts. The fool never saw it coming. As it looks to the sky, her soulless body calls, "Valy... I... sorry."
My mind left Kilom's. Tears running down my face again. A heat clawing at my face. I look at Kilom. Making sure his eyes stare into mine. I lift my off hand, twist my wrist and clench.
Kiloms neck snaps, and his head turns around. His inner owl coming out.
"No!" Aurem screams as the Hunter finally free her from the wall.
"Run!" the Hunter screams as they pull her, running away from me.
I look at Kilom's dead body, laughing and crying. I stomp on his head over, over, over, and over again. Finishing with a kick.
"I AM FUCKING TIRE OF THIS FORT!" I scream from the top of my lungs, "SO WORRY ABOUT MONSTERS WHO DON'T DO ANYTHING TO THEM!
"EVEN WHEN SHE GAVE IT ALL, YOU KEPT ASKING FOR MORE! WHAT FOR? JUST TO CAST HER EFFORTS ASIDE!
"YOU'RE SCARE OF MONSTERS? THEN I'LL GIVE YOU A TRUE FUCKING MONSTERS!"
I extend my consciousness beyond the wall. Every wall, door, windows, pillar, floor and stone underneath my control.
I see everyone within me, within my walls. I see Aurem and the Hunter talking with Gustav. I command the ceiling to fall on Aurem.
The ground shakes, alerting everyone inside me. The ceiling caves on Aurem, but the Hunter pushes her aside in time.
"It's that crazy witch!" the Hunter says.
"I AM NOT CRAZY!" Everyone hears.
Gustav's face shocks and yells, "Everyone evacuate the building!"
I push the bell tower. It leans into the fort, falling and breaking through the roof. Inside the dining hall, every pillar collapses.
Hunters run off the fort. Heading to the stables. I clench my fist and pull. A chunk of the fort's gate walls fall off into the stable. Crushing it and everything in it.
I see Hunters running towards my body. I collapse the ceiling around me, blocking everyone's access to me.
Everyone near forgets about me and starts to run away. Out of the fort.
I lift my hand and slice it down. Splitting the ceiling in front of me, collapsing into the hallways.
I command the floor to rumble. Every stone shakes beyond control. The walls weaken. Stone by stone they fall.
From the outside, the Dragon Fort slowly collapses.
"ETARU," I call from every stone, "TAKE EVERYONE OUTSIDE THE GATE."
"Val this is you?" Etaru asks outside the fort, holding on to Muri, "Stop this!"
"UNLESS EVERYONE WANTS TO DIE, GET OUT!"
I create a barrier around me. NOTHING WILL PASS INTO THIS BARRIER. I expand my barrier and it pushes on everything around me. The rubble, the stone, the walls, everything is being pushed.
The massive fort resists, but the barrier slowly pushes forward.
Etaru notices what's going on, "Everyone out!"
Etaru holding Muri's hand runs after the gate. Some follow them, but the majority don't move. Instead they look at the destruction.
Suddenly, my barrier pushes through the resistance. Collapsing every structure and sending the rubbles flying out. The heavy stones fall, but the pebbles fly out like arrows.
The Hunters began to notice the danger, but to some it's too late. The flying pebbles hit the head of some, killing them. Others got hit somewhere, heavily wounding them.
The barrier keeps expanding. Pushing everything. Even the corps of Hunters. Whoever didn't escape in time, got squeezed to death between the barrier and the fort's gate walls.
The barrier kept pushing until the fort's gate fell as well. The entire fort fell. The area was clean of everything. The only thing left was a ring of ruble surrounding me.
My anger and hatred finally subdued. My eyes finally saw what I had done. I now realize winter has ended.
Taking everything in, my heart didn't change. Nothing changed, it's all the same.
"Rose, I really need you right now."
Barrier stay, and don't let anything with a heart beat through just yet.
I walk down where my usual hallway was. With my command, I build it back using the rubble. Stone and wood fly through the air reaching the spot where my mind remembers they were.
Slowly the hallway gets built until I reach the doorway to my room. I stop in front of it until the door is built.
I open the door and walk in. Rubble keeps flying in building the room I remember. The broken desk with an impale shield gets put into place. Book shelves fly to where they used to be. Books and treasure fill up the shelves. My bed and dresser land where they used to be.
From behind me, something passed barely touching the side of my coat. It was Rose's basket, heading to where I left it off.
When the basket touched my coat, a faint noise like glass was heard.
I pulled out what was in my coat. A small bottle about the size of my palm.
"Rose," I remember my date with her.
I am sitting at a table in the restaurant she was so excited about. The place is so lively. All the tables are full. People laughing and talking.
A boy walks over and hands us our order. Two cups of milk and a big piece of cake.
"Valy look at this," Rose points at the plate with her spoon, "it's the cake I was talking about."
"It looks so good." I don't wait for her and dig my spoon in.
"Hey!" Rose laughs and fights my spoon with hers.
We get our spoonful and try the cake, "It is sweet and juicy Rose!"
"See I told you," Rose picks up her glass of milk and drinks.
I pick up my mine and drink every last drop. It tastes weird. It was thick and oily, and bitter too.
I am back in my room. I look at the empty bottle in my hand. What is this?
'Oh, that's a powerful thing. Useful to get rid of annoying creatures, big or small, it gets rid of all who digest it. It's sunflower poison.'
My eyelids are heavy, my body sweat. My heart dangerously slows down. My lungs can barely breathe.
I find myself at the shore. The wind is blowing hard on my face. The ocean is shaking and waving back and forth. The strong winds slowly began to fade, and as they did the ocean calms.
The wind stops and so does the ocean. My eyes widen at the sight. The ocean is completely still. Like a lake without the wind, the fish, the toads, or the kids. The water at the shore is resting.
"All this time... It could have, but it never chose to."
