THE UNEXPECTED 'NEIGHBOR'

"Hey, Amber how's your boy—"

"No, no, no," Amber immediately stopped Ludwig from speaking. "I'm live, Luwig. Live, live, live. Um, I-I'm okay so far! How are you?"

"I'm doing good," Ludwig answered, his Among Us character circling Amber's own. "Yo, I'm manifesting that we get an impostor round together. Remember last time we did, we won that shit in just one round?"

"Oh, that was so cool," Amber gasped. "We nailed that round so hard it was so insane."

"We are the best impostor duo."

"Well," Toast piped in, "Amber and Dream are considered the best. Let's not forget that they were making promises to each other while killing each and every one of us."

"I will never forget that day," Corpse mumbled. "That day where my best friend killed me and Karl, by the way, while she was a killer with Dream."

"Oh, God," Amber covered her face. "I thought we all forgot about that. It's been months!"

"Months that have left me in denial," Corpse breathed out and the girl stared at her camera with a deadpan look, though, she found the situation very humoring and amusing. "Months that have left me, and Karl, with trust issues..."

"You guys literally texted me yesterday that you loved me and you said, and I quote, "I trust you with my life"," Amber snorted and Corpse started laughing. "What trust issues, Corpse? Hmm? Hmm?"

"Fuck," he laughed out. "You're so annoying, A."

"You're more annoying," Amber said.

"You're more, more annoying."

"You're 'annoying times obnoxious' annoying," Amber continued and everyone listened to their banter. Corpse scoffed.

"You're 'obnoxious infinitely' annoying," he commented. Amber gasped dramatically and playfully glared at his black Among Us character.

"You're 'galaxy times obnoxious' annoying."

"Are you kids finished?" Rae laughed, her own character circling their own. The two laughed. "I swear, you two are like children. Siblings even."

"Amber's more of a child," Corpse cleared his throat. Amber shook her head. "I'm kidding, my dear sister from another mister and mother."

"You guys are something else," Sykkuno laughed quietly.

"You guys are annoying! That's what you are," Toast laughed out loud and Corpse and Amber immediately came to their defense, rapid words leaving their mouth. "La, la, la, I can't hear you two."

"Start the game!" Rae exclaimed and everyone else laughed in sync.

"The Amigops everyone!" Jack exclaimed.

Everyone continued laughing until the game was started and then did it quiet down, everyone muting themselves on Discord. Not even a couple minutes later during the first round, did Amber get murdered by Corpse. She could already tell that he was dying of laughter.

"Chat, is he laughing?"

"He's so annoying."

As a meeting was called, Amber saw that Tina reported her body.

"Who dare kill Amber?" She exclaimed. "Who killed Amber, the best person in the entire world? Hmm? Come out! Confess."

"Guys, guys, guys," Sykkuno called out, "who was the last person arguing with Amber?"

"Corpse!" Everyone yelled. Amber nodded in satisfaction, sipping her chocolate milk.

"Actually," Corpse started, "Toast was arguing with us."

"Get Toast!" Rae yelled. Toast spluttered out words, but they fell to deaf ears as everyone came to him. Amber shook her head.

After finishing a few tasks, she glanced at her door by the side of her table and saw Kaleo peeking in.

"Hey," he furrowed his eyebrows on confusion, "your neighbor said that they let you borrow something and that they need it. I don't know what it is, but they said it's urgent since they have a party."

Amber stood up just as confused and placed her headphones by her cup, leaving the room. She eyed Kai who was peacefully sleeping on the couch, a pacifier on his mouth, and headed towards her door. Opening it, she gasped a little at coming to see who it is.

"Are you just going to stand there or give me some chocolate milk, too, paradise?"

Amber immediately stepped forward to hug Dream, who chuckled and hugged her back, bags falling from his hands. He wheezed a little at feeling this tight hold his girlfriend had on him, and rubbed a hand on her back.

"It's been two days already?" He nodded against her neck. They pulled away and she ushered him inside. "What the heck? This is so unreal... Kaleo, why didn't you let him in?"

"I didn't want him in, duh," Kaleo simply answered, patting the baby's chest as Kai moved around.

"I-I just can't believe you're here," Amber spluttered out, grabbing his face in between her hands, staring at his face and moving it around as if making sure it was really him.

"It's me, Amber," he chuckled, grabbing her hands. "And, don't you have a stream to get back to?"

"Oh, crap!" Amber exclaimed. She glanced at her room and groaned, dropping her forehead on the man's chest as it rumbled because of the laughter escaping his lips. He quickly kissed her head before ruffling her hair. "I'm not even finished, by the way. I just started streaming 15 minutes ago."

"Then, go back to it and I'll wait for you," Dream said. "I'll just play with JB and speak with Kaleo until you're finished."

"Do I really have to speak with you, you freak?" Kaleo threw him a pillow. Dream could only laugh at his words. "Fine... Just don't call me kitten or flirt with me. You tend to ask a damn question and make it sound flirty."

"I do not," Dream continued laughing. "I speak normally."

"In your dreams."

Amber chuckled before looking down at her feet when she felt JB's fur tickle her skin. She grabbed him and passed him to Dream, the man being careful with the cat who had immediately let out an unreal smile and cuddled against his neck.

"I-" Is the only thing Dream could let out as he saw and felt the cat burrow itself on his sweater, purring. "God, he's just like Patches. I'm at home."

"What the-" Kaleo gaped at JB. "He scratched me when he met me..."

"Well, he has seen Clay's face on FaceTime," Amber shrugged. "Maybe he just recognizes his face. He's never seen yours before he even met you."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, shut up."

With one last laugh, Amber hurried to her seat and put on her headphones, noticing that three other people were dead. She eyed her chat and quickly looked away.

"Sorry for that. My neighbor wanted something."
