I sighed, still no reply from the publishers and it had been six months. I couldn't wait any longer, I had to see my story in print. Took the plunge, self published.

A week later, I moved the kitchen table. Saw a tightly folded envelope on the floor which had been propping up the uneven leg. Heart in my mouth, picked it up. Addressed to me. Two months ago. From DAW.
