Entrance Exam II
(music is unrelated, I usually just add songs for the hell of it)
"Holy mother of balls on the walls--" You screeched, tumbling onto the floor, rolling into an alleyway.
Eyes wide you looked at the scene before you, a robot, it was a three-pointer if you had remembered correctly. "Ayo, I'd appreciate it if you didn't try and shish kebab me!" You looked around you, the sun was out and reflecting upon everything, creating shadows, there were no lights, any street lights which were there were broken and not working.
A sigh slipped your lips as you brought forward your right hand and braced for pain, a lot of pain, "Kuro!" You let out a battle cry and grit your teeth as the palm of your hand stretched open, the skin tearing enough for a large black dire wolf to jump out.
Panting slightly you rubbed the palm of your hand, watching as the previously stretched skin faded back to normal, "Sometimes I wish I had a different quirk." You mumbled, gaining a response from Kuro who honestly looked offended.
"I didn't mean it," Holding your hands up you looked at your companion apologetically before standing up, "Now let's bust some robotic ass."
'But before that, let's explain how I got into this situation hm~'
"Do you have everything?!" Your mother almost slipped as she cut a corner, chasing after you in your own house, "I have painkillers, a first aid kit you know just in case!" She held the items out to you.
Holding in a laugh you shook your head, "I have everything and I don't need anything else, besides I don't have any space to carry anything-"
"Then carry everything in this!" She handed you a backpack, when did she pick it up, who knows.
Eyes closed loosely a sweatdrop fell down your forehead, "Yeah but what if I'm the only one carrying a backpack, that will be hella embarrassing-"
Your mother shook her head, "Nonsense." She opened the bag and stuffed the first aid kit, painkillers and everything you were previously holding into the bag, zipping it up and handing it to you, "If you take it I'll leave you alone and you won't be late."
Your eyes widened at her words, oh hell no you weren't going to be late for the U.A entrance exam, what a shitty first expression what would you be? The lazy hero? The hero of tardiness?
"Okay, Okay! I'll take this, so you can relax," You gave your mother a smile, hugged the backpack to your chest and ran out the door, "I'll see you later!"
Your mother waved you goodbye, she offered you a ride to the exam site but you chose to run, as running required stamina, as did your quirk, so the more stamina you had the stronger you could control your quirk.
"Okay-- Maybe running was," you broke into a walk, wheezing as you dug through your backpack taking out a water bottle and taking large gulps, "a mistake--"
You gulped the water a little too fast some of it dashed down your throat in bulk, burning your throat causing you to let out a fit of coughs, "L-Leave it to me to choke on fucking water-" wiping your eyes, flicking away a few tears as the coughing had caused your eyes to water you broke into a jog, the exam site entering your vision.
You entered the site, your eyes checking out the competition, looking at your fellow peers, what they were wearing, the feeling of relief hit you when you noticed almost everyone had a backpack.
'Oh thank god, if I didn't bring this I would stand out...'
You were walking toward the building at a slow pace as you were still gawking at the area, looking at everything.
"Move aside Deku!"
Your attention was snapped to your left, you stopped walking and looked at the scene, a boy with spiky blonde hair and an aggressive tone walked past a rather plain-looking boy with green hair and freckles.
"Get out of my way or you're dead!"
'Ayo,' you were slightly taken aback, 'did he just threaten him? I thought this was the hero entrance exam not a fucking villain one.'
You crossed your arms over your chest and raised an eyebrow, subtly checking the blonde up and down, trying to analyse what his deal was.
"The fuck you looking at you goddamn extra?" The said blonde stomped toward you.
'Oh for fuck me mate.' You let out a sigh but didn't break eye contact with the male.
"I'm fucking talking to you!" He spoke, his tone grew more irritable and aggressive as if he didn't like being ignored.
"Damn, your face is fine but you should really put a paper bag over that personality." Your lips tugged upward as you flashed the boy a smirk.
"THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?"
Digging at your ear, your body language indicating that he was super loud and it was starting to give you a headache you let out a sigh and slowly walked away from the blonde, "Sorry, I would repeat myself but you ain't worth the time." You gave him a wave, not looking behind you as you passed him, "See you later."
"This bitch--!" The angry blonde grumbled under his breath, hands clenched into fists by his sides.
The smirk which you wore on your face didn't falter as you walked into the building, taking a seat where you were assigned.
You were in the seating area for your junior high school called Sakura state (Yes, I made it up--)
You checked the number of your assigned seat and groaned upon seeing who your neighbour was, "Are you shitting my dick?"
Arms crossed over your chest you took your seat, "Sup Jackie."
"What the fuck are YOU doing here?!"
You squinted your eyes and looked at Jackie dumbfounded, "To open the chamber of secrets. What do you think?"
"Whatever," She bit back, "You'll never make it as a hero, have fun failing."
You were about to respond but you bit your tongue to shut yourself up as a loud voice spoke, "WELCOME TO TODAY'S LIVE PERFORMANCE! EVERYBODY SAY HEY!"
'No thank you that's embarrassing.' You shook your head slightly and covered your ears, damn present mic was louder in person than on the radio.
The audience was silent.
"Damn, I've never heard a silence quite this loud." you mumbled to yourself earning a quiet, "Shut the fuck up." from Jackie causing you to roll your eyes, mentally praying for the strength to not throw Jackie across the room like a ragdoll.
Present mic went through all the details about the physical exam. Explaining the point system of the robots, the zero pointer was the one that piqued your interest, you were determined to avoid it.
A boy with blue hair and rectangular specs interrupted Present Mic, babbling about the entrance exam and model heroes before he turned around and exposed a boy with green curly hair and freckles, saying he had been mumbling all day and he should show some respect 'he was the one who the blonde was aggressive to earlier.' you noted.
The interruption was the only bit of excitement you had felt during the speech, the painkillers your mother had given to you might actually come in handy thanks to Present Mic. You sat through the rest of the explanation before you were taken to your exam site.
It appears the gods were on your side as Jackie wasn't in the same 'team' as you, mentally cheering you looked around you. Looking for anyone you recognised, which were only the plain-looking boy, the bluenette with glasses and the angry blonde.
You didn't catch glimpse of any of them.
You were caught in your own thoughts you didn't realise everyone running toward the test site, "Shi- we're starting?" You broke out into a sprint and dashed through the mock city.
Your eyes scanning the area you choked on-air as a robot appeared behind you, almost squishing you, "Take me to dinner before you jump on me!" You dashed toward an alleyway
The scene before you had escalated and you were now where the story started, Kuro in front of you standing protective and alert. The black crescent moon on your right palm absorbed a dark looking gas, "Thanks Kuro."
You stepped beside your dire wolf, observing the robot, analysing each and every aspect of it before signalling Kuro to attack, "Distract it, I think I located its vitals!"
Your companion did as they were told, diving into the shadows, disappearing from sight until it popped out from a shadow and slashed the robot with their paws, gaining its attention.
You looked around you, there were plenty of shadows to use the dark magic Kuro had lent you, eyes locking onto the shadow of a traffic light you picked it up from the ground, using your mind to manipulate it, turning the once harmless light into a spear.
Letting out a battle cry you ran away from the robot, giving yourself a run-up as you ran scaled a building, normally you would never be able to run up the side of a building, however, the shoes you wore was a creation you had custom made a few years back, with a click of a button located on the side of your shoe, the bottom turns into spikes, locking onto anything, giving you iron grip.
You had to have incredible leg strength to pull the spikes out of a substance, especially concrete and brick, it was incredibly tiring yet effective, working on your leg strength was something you had in mind.
You broke off the building, letting out another battle cry as you were falling toward the robot, speak in both hands as you aimed for the eye. You just needed it to look at you.
"Hey, dipshit!"
Yep, that got the robot's attention.
The spikes in your shoes were still out, you latched onto the robots head, the spikes digging into the metal, "Didn't expect this did you?" You smirked as you brought the spear forward, lunging it into the robots eye.
Sparks emit from the robotic villain before it fell to the floor malfunctioning. You hit the side of your shoe, pressing the button to deactivate your spikes as you jumped off the robot as it fell onto the floor, almost stumbling in the process.
Panting semi-heavily you wiped the sweat off your brow, "Honestly didn't expect that to work but, let's do it again." You looked at Kuro with a smile who howled in return.
Before you could 'do it again.' Your attention was snapped toward a girl with purple hair and blue eyes, she was sitting on the ground shaking.
"I-I can't do this s-somebody!" She screamed out, a robot, a two-pointer about to bring her end to her early.
You couldn't sit around and watch, you knew you weren't fast enough to reach her location on foot, "Kuro!" You hopped onto your companions back and sprinted toward the girl's location.
Before anything bad could happen you jumped off of Kuro and manipulated the robot's shadow, turning it into a weapon, you jumped in front of the girl protectively, telling her everything would be okay before you stabbed the glowing red part of the robot. What you deemed to be the eyes. The robot malfunctioned just like the 3 pointer did earlier and fell to the floor.
Your chest heaved up and down, sweat dripped from your face as you turned to look at the female. Her blue eyes welled with tears, "You okay?"
"I am now, thank you."
"No problem," You let the spear you had made dissolve back into the shadows, "If you don't mind me asking, what happened, this is the hero exam. It's not supposed to be easy." You eyed her, your (eye colour) eyes drifting to her leg which was bleeding rather heavily.
A sigh slipped your lips as you ripped the bottom of your shirt, exposing your skin below your belly button, you used the fabric to wrap around her wound, tightly tieing it around to add pressure and stop the bleeding.
"I thought- that I could do this, but my quirk isn't meta I-I." She let out a shaky breath and held back a few sobs, "All I can do is," She opened the palm of her left hand, a flower emerging from her skin, "create plants, it's useless really."
Your expression softened, "Look, even with a meta quirk, it's your determination which paves the way for you, there's always next year. Train your quirk and give it some thought."
She smiled slightly, "I guess you're right... I'm Anna, what's your name?"
"(Name) (Last Name)"
"Well, (Name) when you become a hero, I'll be your #1 fan!"
