No one's POV

It's been a few days since Shizu, Marigold, and Evelyn arrived in Y/n's town. Ever since then, Y/n has been trying to figure out what Shizu's hiding, but isn't able to do anything. As Shizue looks at the town, Y/n walks up behind her.

Y/n: Morning!

Shizu turns around and sees Y/n walking up to her.

Y/n: So it's been a few days. How have you enjoyed this place? Do you like it here?

Shizu: *GIF Below* Yes. I love it!

Y/n: Dammit, stop being so freaking cute! Your cuteness is going to be the end of me!!

Y/n: Well, I'm glad you like it. You know, I wouldn't mind you staying here. I've been hoping to get sword training, and that way I don't have to 100% rely on my Pokémon.

Shizu: I would help you... But I have to get going.

Y/n: Do you... Mind telling my why?

Shizu: If I stay here, I'll only bring you trouble.

Y/n: What are you talking about?

Shizu: I'm... trying to find the man whose responsible for bringing people from our world to this one.

Y/n: If what she's saying is true, then there must be someone who has a close connection to Unera. Someone who is, in a sense, immortal.

Y/n: Well that'll be good. But what are you going to do once you find them?

Shizu doesn't say anything, and looks away from Y/n's gaze as a gentle breeze flows through the air.

Y/n: If it's something you don't want to talk about, that's alright with me. But can you at least do something for me?

Shizu: What is it?

Y/n: Promise me that, if you ever need assistance, you come to us first. I'm more than happy to lend you a hand!

Shizu: Alright then. I promise I will if I ever do need it. Thank you, Y/n. I mean it.

Shizue then pulls Y/n into a hug, which does shock him for a bit, but he does return it. Shizu then breaks the hug and starts heading down, making Y/n feel a little more relieved than before.

*Time-skip*

We now see Marigold helping Evelyn with her hair, as it got very messy.

Marigold: Shizu, I wouldn't mind partying up with you again, if you'd like to.

Evelyn: Yeah! You're so nice, and you've made this journey all the more fun!

Shizu: Marigold... Evelyn... If I didn't have this power, I would've accepted coming with you with zero hesitation! Joining the two of you has shown me things I never thought I'd see again. I'm very grateful that my final journey was with the two of you.

Marigold: Are you saying... You're done adventuring...?

Shizu: In a sense, yes. Let's just say... I'm not as old as I look.

After a few more minutes, the three girls then head out of the house they were in and start heading towards Y/n, whose with Tomoe, Shiraori, Maha, and Tarte.

Tarte: Looks like they're ready to go!

Y/n silently nods, and Evelyn runs up to Y/n, who then hugs one of his legs, shocking him.

Evelyn: Y/n... will we see each other again...?

Y/n then pats Evelyn on the head, with a smile on his face.

Y/n: I'm sure that we will.

Marigold: *sigh* Evelyn... I know he saved you, but still...

As Marigold starts walking to grab Evelyn, Shizu suddenly stops, which everyone notices.

Y/n: Um... You alright, Shizu?

Suddenly, Shizu starts holding her head in pain, and collapses to the floor.

Y/n: Shizu!!

Y/n starts running over to Shizu, with Tarte following, as the two try and figure out what's going on.

Shizu: Y/n... Run...

Y/n: What the heck are you saying?! I'm not going to run away when you're in pain!

Shizu: I can't... Control him... Any longer...

Suddenly, Shizue screams in pain, as the mask she's wearing starts to crack.

Y/n: Everyone, get back!

As the mask glow a bright yellow, and a pillar of flame erupts from her body, completely engulfing her in it. As the fire shoots up, the sky begins to darken, and as the flames die down, Shizu's body starts flying into the sky. As Shizu flies up, a ball of fire starts to form around her.

Y/n: Oh crap! Everyone, hit the deck!

Everyone then gets down as low as possible, as the blast causes the area to be burnt. Y/n looks up to see Shizu's entire body being engulfed in more powerful flames.

Y/n: No! Shizu!!!

Y/n tries to head to Shizu, whose tearing up right now, but Tomoe stops him.

Y/n: What are you doing Tomoe?! Let me go!

Tomoe: And let you die?! No way in hell! Plus, now that I'm seeing this with my own eyes, I think I know exactly what's going on.

Maha: Tomoe, what do you know about Shizu, and what's happening to her?!

Tomoe: What I do know about her, is that she was a former hero of this world. The Flame Hero, Shizu Izawa.

Evelyn: Eh?! We've been with a legend this whole time?!

Tomoe: Yeah. And if what I've heard is right...

The Flames then slowly disperse, as something else comes out of the flames.

Tomoe: Ifrit has broken free from her body!

Tarte: *gasps* I've heard about Ifrit before! It's a powerful fire spirit which only acts on the rules of survival of the fittest!

Y/n: That's not good! Tomoe, Shiraori, Maha, Tarte! take Evelyn, and go find Braxel! Tell him that we're heading out earlier than plan!

Maha: But what about you, sister?

Y/n: I'll be fine! Just go!

Shiraori: Okay! Let's move!

As Tarte grabs Evelyn, Y/n then pulls out on of his Pokeballs and prepares to fight.

Y/n: Come out, Milotic!

Y/n then tosses out Milotic and the battle officially begins. Ifirt brings out 4 fire salamanders, which start to go towards Y/n.

Y/n: Milotic, use Surf!

Milotic then summons a giant wave, which hits the salamanders, but doesn't fully take them out.

Y/n: Dammit!

Marigold: ICE SPEAR!!

Marigold then shoots giant spears of ice at the fire salamanders, which actually takes two of them out.

Y/n: *gasps* Looks type advantage doesn't work on these opponents! Come on out, Lapras!

Y/n then tosses out Lapras.

Y/n: Lapras, use Ice Beam on those flaming dragons!

Lapras then shoots out a beam of ice which destroys the salamanders on impact.

Y/n: Aw hell yeah! Milotic, return!

Y/n then puts Milotic away, and brings out Glaceon, right as Ifirt summons another salamander

Y/n: Glaceon, use Ice Fang!

Glaceon then jumps at the salamander freezing it and taking it out. Ifirt then roars and prepares an attack under Marigold, which Y/n notices.

Y/n: Marigold!! Lapras, Glaceon, return!

Y/n puts his Pokémon away and starts running towards Marigold, and right before the attack hits, pushes her out of the way. Right as Marigold lands on the ground, Ifrit launches the attack, engulfing Y/n in flames.

Y/n: Nooooooo!!! I can't believe this is how I die!!! I'm never gonna be the badass hero I wanted to be, and I'll never be able to know if they made a Gen 9 Pokémon game!!!

Y/n then starts to tear up, and lies down on the ground, accepting his fate.

Y/n: Emilia... I'm so sorry... I'll never be able to see you again...

After an awkward moment of silence, Y/n stands up annoyed.

Y/n: So.... How am I not dead? I thought I would've been burned to death by now!

Suddenly, his Rotom phone goes off, and sees that the number is unknown.

Y/n: Okay, this oddly suspicious, but still... I should probably do what I normally do with these type of unknown calls...

Y/n then answers and says one thing.

Y/n: Uh... Moshi Moshi?

???: Oh good, I got through! I was starting to think that bastard gave me a fake number, since it was taking so damn long to get through to you!

Y/n: Um, who are you?

???: Oh, right! Hold on a sec!

Suddenly, time stops around Y/n, but he can't move his body, but he can move his head. He then looks up to see a girl coming down from the sky.

Y/n: Who... are you...?

D: Oh right! This our first time meeting each other! My name's D. I'm the Goddess of Death, and the one that the demons worship.

Y/n: Wait... If you're the goddess that demons worship, why are you helping me?

D: To put a long story short, almost every god that is worshipped in this world hates Unera with a boiling passion.

Y/n: Wait seriously? Then why don't you all-

D: Gang up and kill her ourselves? Yeah, we can't. Some BS rule of gods is that we can't kill each other for any reason, no matter what the reason it is.

Y/n: So that's why I'm here?! To do your dirty work?!

D: That's the long and short of it.

Y/n: But still... I'm going die... I won't be able to help...

D: Yeah, I notice you were having some trouble. So, I gave you full magical resistance, enhanced all of your physical abilities, modified your Pokeballs so you can now catch monsters of this world, and put in some new additions to your copy ability!

Y/n: Wait a second... were you the one who gave me that other ability, Duplication?

D: Correct! Give the man a prize!

Y/n: Are... are you and Nilios just going to help me when I need it the most?

D: Basically, yeah. Well, see ya!

Time then resumes and Y/n gets into a fighting stance.

Y/n: Well then... Let's kick some ass!

Y/n then stomps the ground, dispersing the flames.

Y/n: Zamazenta, Zacian, Glaceon, Lapras, come on out!

Y/n then tosses out the four Pokemon, and notices that Ifrit's looking at what's going on in total shock.

Y/n: Zacian, Behemoth Blade! Zamazenta, Behemoth Bash!

Zacian then enhances his sword, getting multiple hits on Ifrit, and before Ifrit can counterattack, Zamazenta goes in with full force with a Behemoth Bash, knocking Ifrit down.

Y/n: Now that's what I call progress! Now Glaceon, use Blizzard! Lapras, freeze Ifrit solid with a Sheer Cold!!!

Glaceon then summons a giant blizzard, hitting Ifrit with relative ease, and then Lapras comes out and freezes Ifrit solid with it's Sheer Cold attack, which is leaving Marigold shocked at how this is happening.

Marigold: Holy crap... Y/n is dealing with this powerful fire spirit with relative ease! Just who is he?

Marigold then runs over to where Y/n is.

Marigold: That was incredible! I'll finish Ifrit off before

Y/n: Oh no, I've got better plans. To make sure this can never happen again...

Y/n then brings out an Ultra Ball, and starts using his Dynamax Band to increase the size of the Ball.

Y/n: I'm gonna catch him!

Y/n then grabs it with both hands and tosses it at Ifrit, and as it opens, it starts to take Ifrit into the ball.

Marigold: Wow! That's-

Y/n: Hold on. We still have to wait for the confirmation.

Marigold: Confirmation?

Y/n simply nods his head, and as the ball finishes absorbing Ifrit, it falls down. It shakes one, no escape. It shakes again, nothing escapes. It shakes a third time, and nothing happens. Suddenly, the ball glows, and shrinks back down to an Ultra Ball, and giving off that satisfying click.

(A/n: End the Music Now)

Y/n: Yes!

Suddenly, the sound of a body landing is heard, as Y/n turns to see Shizu.

Y/n: Shizu!!!

Shizu then slowly opens her eyes and sees Y/n smiling.

Y/n: Hey... You're alright now.

Shizu: Y/n... Thank you... so much...

Shizu then loses consciousness, which puts Y/n into a more panicked state.

Y/n: Tomoe, get here now!

Tomoe: On my way!

Tomoe then opens a mist gate and comes through.

Tomoe: You actually beat it...

Y/n: No time for that! Get Shizu some medical attention, ASAP!!

Tomoe: Y-Yes sir!!

We now see Y/n with Shizu in the medical ward that the demons created, with Y/n looking at Shizu with a sad look in his eyes. Shizu then slowly opens her eyes and notices Y/n.

Shizu: Y/n...

Y/n: Why didn't you tell me this? Why did make a promise you knew you wouldn't be able to uphold?! Why?! Please, tell me!!

Shizu: Y/n... I made that promise because I didn't want you to feel sorry for me.

Y/n: Still... You could've just told me!!

Shizu: I know... I did something that hurt you... But... I didn't want to have another incident like when I arrived in this world.

Y/n: Wh-What do you mean?

Shizu: I'll tell you...

Shizu then began to tell Y/n about the man who brought her here. The man's name was Edmont Wader, and he summoned her to be the next hero, but was disappointed with her, but kept her around anyways, and made Ifrit possess her.

Shizu: I... I killed so many innocent people because Ifrit would control me... and Edmont would say the people I killed were colluding with the demons... But then one day I met her... She was able to free me from him, and taught me to control my power.

Y/n stays silent, but his tears flow freely, as he's shocked by how messed up the humans are, as they forced an innocent girl to become a killing machine.

Shizu: The mask I wear... It's hers...

Y/n: I'll grab it for you... Save your energy...

Y/n then walks over and grabs the mask, but before he can hand it to her, she uses her hand to stop him.

Y/n: Wh-What are you...?

Shizu: I want... you to have it...

Y/n: Why... *tearing up again* Why me?! Why are you accepting this like it just-?!

Shizu: Y/n... I don't know if it was fate or just coincidence... But meeting you... may have just been the best thing that's ever happened to me... since I came here...

Shizu then uses some of her remaining energy, and kisses you on the lips, shocking Y/n.

Shizu: Goodbye... Y/n... I'm glad to have... met... you...

Shizu then closes her eyes for one final time, making Y/n start to tear up.

Y/n: *GIF Below* Dammit... Why...? Why did this happen... Why to you...?

For the next few hours, the only thing that could be heard from the medical ward, were the cries of Y/n, as he had to see Shizu die, and he was powerless to stop it.

After Y/n cries finally stop, Y/n the leaves, and holding the mask that Shizu had given him.

Y/n: Shizu... I'll never forget... What you've done for me... Ever...
