16- forgive and forget
Gabi.
Eventually I reclothe myself and head back to my house. I'm not emotional about this, just mad. You don't just leave like that without an explanation.
"I honestly think you're overreacting Gab, don't you? Like yeah, you might've almost had sex and he left you but so what? Maybe it was important, you don't know that." Kenna says.
"Exactly. I don't know because he didn't tell me where he was going."
"Kenna'a right. You're definitely overreacting." Lana sighs. "You should try thinking about it from his side, he wouldn't leave you for no reason like that. He's a good guy, Gabi."
"The one time I need you guys to be here for me and understand me you don't. Thanks guys. That's what best friends are for, right?" I snap, walking into our bedroom and slamming the door purposely. I lay on the bed, playing with a piece of my hair while I let my thoughts get the best of me.
When it's time to sleep Lana and Kenna come in, and they talk quietly while I sit there, silent. In the morning I eat something, then go back to our room again, staring off into space.
I soon hear voices out in the main room, and I go over to the door and press my ear against it.
"Please? I messed up." It's Shawn. What's he doing here?
"Yeah. I know you did. She's not happy with you and it's going to take you a damn lot of effort if you want to try and fix this." Lana says and there's a pause before Shawn speaks next.
"Please Lana." he begs. "I need to talk to her."
"No." Lana replies forcefully, and I hear the door close.
Well if she doesn't understand me at least she has my back.

Shawn comes by again later that afternoon. I catch the tail end of what he says when he first gets here.
"Sorry to bother you again but-"
"I don't wanna hear it." Lana cuts him off. "I don't wish to listen to you blabber on about how you messed up or whatever." Lana pauses. What's the but Lana? What are you going to do? "But she might." I hear her footsteps now as she comes closer, and I silently hop onto the bed.
"Gabi!" She calls into the room.
"What?" I reply.
"Shawn's here." She says. What does she expect me to say? That I want to talk to him? Because I don't.
When I don't answer, she comes in. "Come on." she whispers. "Just talk to him, you can't just hide in here forever."
"Lana, it's been less than a day. I don't wish to see him right now and I definitely don't want to talk to him. Please just tell him to leave. He'll get over it."
"What's wrong with you? Give the man a chance!" she says a bit sternly. "He deserves one, you're being dramatic and it needs to stop."
"Wha-" I start, throwing a hand in the air. "You're not my mom, Alana." This puts her off.
"For fuck's sake, Gabi just go talk to him!"
I walk past her, giving her a death glare as I walk out the door to meet him.
"I don't have much time so you'd better make this quick." I say impatiently, not looking into his eyes.
"You don't have anywhere to be, and I think you're the one that wants answers. So what do you want to know?" Shawn asks.
"First off, I want to know why the frick you answered that call and left me with no explanation?" I ask, still not looking at him. It'll hurt too much. "I was confused and felt extremely vulnerable, you left me sitting in your house barely even clothed!" I yell.
"I'm sorry I didn't explain. I really am, I wasn't thinking. But my best friend needed me! I know you're my girlfriend and all, but my best friends come first, you need to know that."
"So may I ask what he needed you for?"
"That's beside the point. The point is that I left you alo-"
"Yeah. You did."
"Can you let me talk?" He snaps. "Stop cutting me off, it makes me feel like rotten fish."
I stifle a smirk but then get back to business. "Fine. Just talk."
"I left you alone like that and it was wrong. I'm sorry."
"It was. But what's even more wrong is that you refuse to tell me why you did it!"
"His girlfriend broke up with him and I needed to be there for him."
"Bullshit! Why does he come first? You could've told him you were busy and-"
"Bri, why are you freaking out like this?"
"I-I don't know, I guess I just feel like everyone's ganging up on me."
"Hey, listen." he says, moving closer and tilting my chin up with his fingers to look into his eyes. "We're not ganging up on you. I don't know where that came from but nobody's trying to do anything to hurt you."
"Okay." I force a smile. "I'm sorry, I guess I just have to let things go sometimes."
"It's hard, baby. I know." he says, pulling me in for a hug. "I understand what you've been going through lately and I should be more sensitive to that, I'm sorry too."
"It's not your fault." I say, kissing him.
"You need some cheering up, what do you say we have a beach day? Take cringe worthy couple pics and chill?"
"Sounds like the perfect day." I smile. "Just let me get in my swimsuit."
"I'll be back too."
I walk into the house and the two of them are both immediately on my case. "So, is everything resolved?" Lana asks. I glare at her. "What? Are you not happy you went out there?"
"That's not the point. The point is that you practically made me do something I didn't want to do. That's not cool, Alana." I called her by her real first name like I did earlier because I only do that when I'm mad. I need her to know.
"I'm sorry, okay? But you should at least thank me, you guys have made up now only because I made you go out there." she reasons. "Aren't you happy about that?"
I may be acting dramatic about this, but I couldn't care less. "Maybe I am. But like I said, that's not the point. Now I'm going to have a nice day with my boyfriend, please don't put me in a bad mood again."

"I'm going to jump, you put your hands on my waist and lift me up." I explain.
"Okay..." he chuckles adorably.
"Brian, you ready?" I ask, looking over at Brian, who's holding my phone to take pictures. He gives me a thumbs up. "Okay, babe. 3... 2... 1..."
I jump, and surprised, Shawn isn't ready and I fall gracefully onto the sand and start laughing hysterically.
"Are you okay?" He asks quickly, worried look on his face.
"Yep, I'm great." I'm still laughing. "You're not as strong as you look, I guess."
"I am but I wasn't expecting that!" he laughs.
"What were you expecting then? A light fluffy teddy bear? Cause I ain't that light." I laugh. "Anyways, take 2?" I ask with a flirtatious smile.
I count down, then this time I go up but he had lifted me before I jumped, so he didn't get his arms all the way extended.
I laugh. "Better, but you should try lifting me after I jump, not before. Then you get the momentum from my jump to help you lift me."
"Okay. I got this, third times the charm." he lets out a breath, preparing himself. I put my hands back on his shoulders and he puts his on my waist, and I count down once more.
I jump, and I soar up perfectly, extending my legs and toes once I'm in the air. We hold it for a few seconds, looking into each other's eyes, so Brian can get a good picture and then he lets me down softly to the ground.
"Yes!" I shout, giving Shawn a high five. I go to Brian and he gives me my phone, where I then look at the pictures he took. The ones from the first two are really funny, we both made funny faces.
"These are so cute actually." I swoon. "This one's my favourite."
(a/n ik this is Ansel and Violetta but just pretend it's Shawn and Jordyn ok)
"Me too." he says.
"Okay, I have one more that we should do." I smile, and find a picture of it on my phone. "Before I came out I looked up a couple online so we could try them and this was my favourite." I say, showing him the picture.
"That one's really cute." Shawn says, and after a few tries, we get it. I high five him again.
"Thank you, Brian, for being our photographer." I smile, thanking him.
"Anytime." he smiles, handing me my phone back.
Shawn and I sit on the beach, my head in his lap.
He's playing with my hair, and I'm looking at rocks around me.
I find one, and hold it up beside his face. He gives me a questioning look. "This one reminds me of your eyes."
"You're too cute." he smiles and I give it to him, then he looks around for a rock. After a few minutes, he finds one and holds it beside my face. "This one reminds me of your eyes." he smiles lovingly, handing me the rock and I keep it as well. I give him a smooch. "I'm sorry again for yesterday."
"Let's not dwell on the past, okay babe?" I smile. "It's over, you can't change anything now."
"I love you, Bri." he says, eyes glimmering. I still need to get used to hearing those words.
"I love you too, Shawn."
