Chapter-1

THE DAWN

_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶_̶

My hands trembled as I turned the three pages over and over. Winters weren't even around, the Arctic yet had to model the snowy winds and the red scorching season departed a few days back only to live in the Canary Islands all year round then what was the apprehension behind my summer living skin and winter living bones.

The sweat on my palms stamped on one page marking my impatience and agitation as agility. The room was filled with silence and my head with second thoughts, the sound of the clock ticking was the alone noise that could be heard.

"Was I going to do this?"

I wanted to revisit the months of the circle of emotions that I experienced which were presently summed up into three papers.

I stared out of the window at the tree which was flamed up with crimson red leaves. The autumn air whistled through those leaves, descending one in the course. The movement of the crisp locked my vision with it until it entirely tumbled down which broke my trance and teleported me into reality.

"I can do this," I whispered hoping the words would echo in my head later. I exhaled this moment's fear and endeavoured to breathe a dream but all I could see were those brown eyes, the same as the woods of the Dark Hedges immuring the early glimmer of sun fleeting through it.

The knock on the door broke my reverie.

"I don't see your books at its place, I don't see you ready yet," my sister bellowed.

"Wait h-how can this be possible when my eyes were shut not-" Crap!

"Excuse me?"

"Uh...-"

"Anyway, get ready fast"-she turned around and head towards the door-"And stop daydreaming." With that, she left both the door and my mouth ajar.

I hurriedly grab my books and keep them in my bag according to the schedule. After a few minutes later, I was scrolling through Pinterest. Basically, my uniform was on and I was practically ready just my hair was not done as I desired to tie my hair differently, and for that reason, I was on my phone looking up for new styles but after hearing my name being called once again, I knew it that I had no other choice but to show up again with no elegance.

I glanced at my reflection in the cheval glass and "My hair looks identical to someone... Albert Einstein?" Oh, Lord! What a perfect name to start a day with!

I blink the thought back and then bring my hair back, attempting to pull off my everyday hairstyle to look at its best today as if it really would. I sling my heavy bag on my back and walk out the door like I am not carrying a bag that is double my weight.

I swallow the slice of sandwich which is placed in front of me as well as the milk all at once. I know it's not good for metabolism but I am already late for school and nobody likes to be the last-minute man at least not on the very first day of a new session, well that's what I believe. Moreover, it would not be a wonderful impression on hi-"Very well!" Shoot.

"Do you even have the idea what time it is? If you just try to wake up five minutes early, everything naturally would be effectively on time but no, you're not ready to hearken," my father lectured.

Right, so this is my papa. If I asked Google to describe dads then it will cite me a few terms like 'loving, one-of-a-kind, a friend, patient, parental and so on but if I venture to disregard these terms then my later stopover after school will be the foster care centre so before any of the things I said above turns into reality, I prefer selecting the expression 'parental' from the above word bank to describe my papa.

"Done everything, Sadie? Good now get up," my mother said.

There is an adage around the town that there is always one who subdues the affliction caused by someone and that one is my mom.

"You're lazy as a rabbit," my sister cut short my nice moment with her words.

"You mean tortoise."

"No, because tortoise practically won the race furthermore, you're a dud." Wow, that hurts.

"But at the end of the day tortoise got nothing whereas the rabbit earned the sleep." Didn't see that coming, right? To be honest, me neither.

"Enough. Now stop arguing and Sadie go and get your bag," papa's voice reverberated around the room.

"Hold on, aren't you coming today?" I questioned, facing my sister.

"Wow! Girl eats some almonds. I passed out from school this year."

"Wait-you didn't eat almonds today?" My father surely said something which I could care less about.

Does that attest from here and now that afterward school I can loiter as much as I want to, hang out with my friends as late as I want to, and can be in a relationship with whom I want to?

This is going to be fun.
