Chapter 21: Taking Action

The next day all the campers had activities to do so it was hard to try and talk to Henry and Natalie at the same time, let alone the counselors.

But during lunch I finally had time to fully discuss with Natalie and Henry what we found and how we would approach the counselors.

And we made sure no one was around to hear our conversation.

"So I think I should go to them and ask for a surprise cabin check? Considering that I'm in charge of camper cabin cleanliness,"suggested Natalie.

Both Henry and I stared at her with looks of confusion on our faces as she said this.

"What?"asked Natalie,"It's a real position,"she defended.

I looked at her skeptically while Henry showed a face of disbelief, as he put his head in his hands.

"Guys! Have some faith in me? I mean it might not technically be a real position but when camp started I supposedly bugged the counselors so much about being in charge of something, that they appointed me that position." Natalie explained proudly.

"I never thought it would actually come in handy," she announced.

"Ok my faith in this plan has slightly diminished due to this new information,"sighed Henry.

"Oh relax I totally have this under control! In fact by the time all this is over they might even make me head activities supervisor!"Natalie spoke confidently.

"Ok so after lunch,Natalie, you go to the counselors asking for the surprise inspection. None of the campers should be at their cabins because of activities. Henry and I don't have anything scheduled for today so we will keep an eye on Logan and make sure he stays away from his cabin long enough for the counselors to search it. Text me as soon as they find anything and I will let you know if Logan is close by," I concluded.

"Ok sounds like a plan! I'm going to go ask them now, lunch is almost over anyways," she stated.

And with that she skipped away towards the main office.

I was alone with Henry at our table, our food barely touched, since we spent so much time contemplating on the plan.

"I guess we should get going now and keep an eye on Logan," I said unexcited about this part.

I began to stand up from my chair as Henry lightly grabbed my wrist which caused me to plop back into my chair.

"Oh sorry..its just,"he sighed. "Ever since Logan came here, we've been so focused on kicking him out. I feel like the only time we spend together is to plot against him and with there bring barely 2 weeks of camp left I just want to spend as much time with you as I can before we both leave," he finished sadly.

I grabbed his hand and scooted my chair closer to him.

"Henry, I'm sorry that we haven't been able to spend as much time together as we both hoped, but maybe after this is all over we can?" I added.

"No you don't have to apologize Isabelle, I'm the one being all clingy and worried about this when you're not...I mean not that you are clingy or anything or should be..or it's ok if you are.." he stuttered.

I cut him off before he tried to form more words,"It's fine, I know where you're coming from, and actually I have been a little worried about what would happen after camp. but we can still make the most of it and we can keep in touch after right?" I asked hopefully.

He was silent for a moment but not long enough for me to question it.

"Yeah, if course," he replied. "We should probably get going now before we lose Logan," Henry suggested.

I nodded in agreement as we left the mess hall, still holding hands.

Henry and I have been discretely following Logan around all day, and there were some moments where I considered clawing my eyes out from having to stare at him for such a long amount of time!

Natalie confirmed that she was able to get a few of the counselors to conduct cabin checks, but it would take a while considering they looked at every nook and cranny to make sure everything was in order,but then notified me that they were heading over towards Logan's cabin soon.

"Come on, Natalie said they would be heading over to his cabin soon," I told Henry.

Logan was over by the lake, lying in a beach chair with his hands behind his head, tanning I presumed.

"Ugh, I hope he gets sunburned," I stated.

"Yeah,Let's just hope he stays there until the counselors search his cabin," Henry replied.

Natalie's POV:

I managed to get some counselors to preform cabin searches after lunch, but at the rate they were going camp would be over by the time they finally got to Logan's cabin!

I tried to help them and hurry them along as best as I could but they kept saying I 'needed to be more patient' and that this task was 'a delicate process'.

However I held my tongue on the matter because I knew how important this was for Henry and Isabelle. They are my friends and it makes me sick to know that Logan has been the main cause of their problems this summer.

Ever since he moved to this camp I noticed how absorbed those two were in an effort to make him leave them alone for good.

So absorbed in fact that they began to spend less time together, I mean they talked to each other and stuff but I mean actually spent time together like a boyfriend and girlfriend should in a relationship. The closest contact they shared was holding hands(when they had time apparently) and an occasional kiss on the check.

It may not sound as bad as it seems but I remember their relationship from the beginning of the summer, I saw how they both grew closer to each other and how they soon grew almost inseparable. I saw how both of them were somewhat shy about going from friends to boyfriend and girlfriend, but it soon became natural to both of them. I saw how they both looked at each other with loving looks and though most people said it would only last the summer and that most summer relationships never last, I knew they were both meant for each other.

And now to see how unhappy and frustrated they are because of Logan causing problems for them each day, makes my blood boil with anger. I would do anything for them because honestly they are the best friends I have ever had in my life so far and anyone who wants to hurt my friends has a death wish after them.

When we were finally approaching Logan's cabin I texted Isabelle on our progress so far.

While following the counselors into the cabin, I started to walk towards his room, since that's where Isabelle and Henry said they found the IDs. Though as soon as I entered the room I remembered they forgot to mention exactly where the IDs were.

I groaned internally for forgetting to ask for such an important piece of information. The room wasn't that big though, so it shouldn't take that long to eventually find them.

I first searched under his bed, then between the mattresses, followed by his closet, and finally his clothes drawers.

The first drawer held nothing but crumpled shirts and it wasn't until I reached the bottom drawer that I finally found the IDs, of course it had to be the drawer that contained his underwear and socks so I probably had to sanitize my hands for the rest of the day but it was worth it.

I grinned evilly as I called out to the counselors, "Heyy guys, I think I found something come look!" I heard footsteps nearing the room as I tried to shake the grin off my face.

"Oh Logan, you are finally going to get what's coming to you and it won't be pretty...karma really can be a bitch," I whispered to myself.

It had been almost over an hour since Natalie had last informed me on the cabin searches, hopefully everything went well, cause if this backfired we would be the ones on the chopping block.

I was getting kinda tired and itchy from sitting in these bushes for so long watching Logan the pinhead.

(God,i hope this wasn't poison ivy that's the last thing I need.)

I looked over at Henry who looked just as exhausted as I did, yet even though his hair looked ruffled and his eyes seemed tired, he still managed to look as perfect as ever to me.

"Has Natalie texted you back yet?" Henry asked tiredly.

"No, I'm worried that something bad has happened," I replied.

He slowly went to grab my right hand intertwining his fingers through mine, "I'm sure everything is fine, we just have to keep having a positive mind set on things," he said as he gave me a tired smile.

I smiled back, no matter how gloomy a situation might be Henry always seemed to find a silver lining and make everything seem less horrible than what it really is and his smile always looked like it could light up a room.

I checked my phone once again to find no new notifications, but as I looked back up I saw the counselors approaching Logan fast and Natalie not too far behind with a wicked grin on her face.

It looked quite menacing, for a blonde haired blue-eyed girl who is usually very cheery and optimistic most of the time, I couldn't help but smile.

I then saw Logan's attention turn to the counselors that were somewhat towering over him as he laid in his beach chair, with a look of confusion and worry as he tired his hardest not to give away his care-free facade, he was failing miserably. Now I was the one with the wicked grin I noticed.

I saw as the counselors escorted Logan towards the main office, their faces all had looks of anger on them. And just as Logan was out of our sight, Henry and I emerged from the bushes, as Natalie ran towards us with the biggest smile in her face and hugged us fiercely jumping up and down in the process.

"We did it! We did it! Oh my gosh we actually did it! This is the happiest I have ever been to see someone leave!"she shouted.

Henry and I just stood there with our mouths gaping too astonished to actually believe what has happened.

We stood like that for a moment longer until all three of us were jumping up and down bursting with excitement and laughing hysterically and uncontrollably.

Granted we all probably looked like jumping idiots, but we didn't care we could finally enjoy the rest of our summer in peace after all that drama.

Natalie explained that after she showed the counselors what she found, they were furious she did the only thing that could make them any angrier was if they found drugs instead.

And after a few hours Logan had all his belongings packed and would be returning home in a squad car. Turns out he was not Mr. Fancy rich pants after all but was the one who stole my scholarship to go to the other camp I was supposed to attend, and he has been selling and making those IDs for a couple of years now that's supposedly where he gets all his money from.

Later I would find out that he would have to complete almost 2 years of community service since he has been making the IDs for a while and on probation during those two years as well because of other things he has done such as minor theft and more than a few speeding tickets.

Logan was finally out of our lives for the rest of the summer and hopefully the rest of our lives as well. And the three of us couldn't have been happier about it.

However, by the time Logan left camp before the end of the day, all of us were absolutely exhausted and decided to catch up on some rest and then hang out the next day since it was a Saturday.

Natalie and I returned to our cabin agreeing that we retire to our rooms for the rest of the day, it was 5:30pm by the time we got back to our rooms.

Natalie and I both took a shower in our separate bathrooms, I finished earlier than her as I quickly brushed my hair and slipped on my pajamas as I fell onto my bed, pulling the covers over my body as I snuggled closer to my pillow feeling refreshed.

Even though it was now only about 6pm I was ready for bed as I soon closed my eyes and fell into a comforting sleep.

I was soon dreaming of some of the most beautiful people on the planet; Tyler posey, Dylan O'Brien, and Ryan gosling, as they were busy tending to my every whim. I felt as if I entered a paradise that I never wanted to leave until there came a knock on my door.

I groaned, whoever was at my door would pay for interrupting my paradise.

"Who is it?" I groaned.

"It's me Natalie, wake up and dress nice I need to show you something," she replied.

"No! Go away we agreed on staying in the rest of the day!" I shouted trying to go back to sleep.

At that moment Natalie charged into the room and tossed the covers from my body onto the floor.

Man,did this girl have a death wish that she wanted granted right now?!

"What was that for?!" I sat upright no way was I sleeping now, "You just interrupted what could have been the best dream of my life!" I growled.

"Calm down Iz, and retract the claws this is really important," she reasoned.

"It better be to interrupt Ryan gosling," I muttered.

"What was that?"she asked.

"Nothing"I replied.

"Anyway, get ready you have 30 minutes oh and dress nice and presentable," she said as she made a face at my appearance.

With that Natalie left the room as if nothing had happened. I really wanted to strangle that girl sometimes.

I looked over at my alarm clock and the time read 7:30. I had only slept an hour and a half, but it felt like only 10 minutes.

I decided to listen to Natalie and quickly brushed my hair out so it was natural with a little wave in it. I then changed from my pjs into a simple navy blue lace skirt, white tank top and matching blue flats. Hopefully this was nice enough for Natalie because even though it was now only 8 o'clock I was still tired from lack of sleep the night before and really didn't want to go anywhere right now.

I then exited my room to not find Natalie anywhere in sight.

"Hey, Natalie! I'm ready, you woke me up and I'm the one waiting on you?" I shouted.

There was still no answer from her the whole cabin seemed quite. I walked toward the living room area to find a piece of paper on the little coffee table,which I then picked up to read containing only three words.

Meet me outside.

I was really tired of playing games with her right now, but I followed the note as I exited the cabin.

I reached the bottom of the steps and it wasn't until I looked up, that I saw Henry standing a few steps away from me with a huge smile on his face and red roses in his hands.
