Arriving
After hours of corn, fields, farms, and trees, we finally arrived at camp. It was exsillerating to get out in the fresh air and stretch my legs and arms. I don't know what it is about long road trips that make you feel sick, but my insides felt disgusting.Meanwhile, Kids were running around the area, greeting friends they haven't seen in a year, and saying hi to their favorite staff and counselors. Once the staff got the kids to settle down, we got in line for registration. I got checked in, got checked for lice, then got my cabin assignment. I went to the cabin and entered. The cabin was nice. It was large, with wood floors and 10 bunk beds, with a wall seperating 5 beds on each side, with a door connecting. There was also two showers and toilets. I also met my two counselors, Lauren and Brianne. "Its great to meet you!" Lauren said. They are so nice and kind, I already can tell i'll like them. I set up my bunk, the top, of course. There was only a few other girls in the cabin right now, including one below me. She had light brown hair and blue eyes. She was reading when she noticed me. She smiled, revealing dimples. "Hi! I'm Sophie! What's your name?"
She asked. "I'm Emma." 'Oh, Emma. I love that name. Its sooo pretty." "Well, I think Sophie is a pretty name too." I chuckled. She giggled. "Do you have any siblings?" She asks. "Nope. It's just me and my parents." "I used to be an only child too. Until my little sister Ruby was born. She's 8 months old." She smiled. "Aww." I smile. Before we can talk anymore, were called to the flag lowering and dinner. We walk through the woods together. Me and Sophie talk while we walk. I just got to camp, and already i'm having a blast!
Rachel's POV
Me, Cassidy, and Skylar were walking together. Camp has always been fun for me. Getting to hang out with friends, and the awesome counselors who are the best. As well as some cute boys. One of the other nice thing about camp is the fact that I got adults to talk too. I lost my mom when i was little, and my dad has to work often, so i don't get the chance to have nice, deep talks as much as i'd like. As I walk, I see Emma, walking and talking with some other girl. Emma is a nice, sweet girl. We used to be closer, but I got into boys and Emma didn't, so we slowly grew apart. Now, there's nothing wrong with her talking with another girl, its camp, it's great to make friends, but there's something about her laugh and giggling with her that made her stomach feels weird. I chew my lip and try to ignore it.
