Chapter 4: Surprise!
Third Person POV
"We need to visit again!" Chisato looked at her new dads with excitement screaming in her eyes and in her voice. "Of course we will, we visit them when we can," Shinji parked in the Yoshimatsu driveway, knowing they have another automobile trapped in their garage. The young blonde had a smile plastered across her face as she gazed out her window. "Whoa!"
She couldn't believe the house she was seeing wasn't exactly a house. It was a mansion. It was three stories of magical exploration. To Chisato, her new home was like a cake. Bunches of layers, a height with tall stories, and most importantly, a surprising filling. Once you cut the cake, the inside is filled with scrumptious batter, patterned with frosting in between layers. To Chistato, once she would open the door, she will see a surprise on the inside, a layered surprise awaits for her.
"It's huge! It's gigantic! It's— huumongous!" The blonde stared with delight piercing her eyeballs. She couldn't wait to take a peek inside. Mika giggled at his daughter's wording. "It's nice to have a husband who is wealthy," he said while winking at Shinji.
"Gold digger," the male blonde rolled his eyes, with a humorous intention. Mika seemed 'offended' by his husband's words; very offended. "What's a gold digger?" Chisato asked with curiosity in her voice. She tilted her head to her side, almost touching her shoulder.
Mika and Shinji looked at each other before responding to their daughter. "Uh... we'll tell you when you're older, let's get inside," Mika blurted out while opening his side of the door to get out. Shinji done the same, leaving a flustered Chisato staring at them before opening her side of the door as well.
"Anyway, this will be your new home. We can go shopping for necessities later," Shinji walked on the paved front porch first, so he could open the door for his loved family. Yeah. Family. He loved saying that word to himself. He loved it very much.
"Okay... Dad!" Chisato said proudly towards her blonde caretaker. Shinji proceeds to grab the door knob from the door, swinging open one half of the two-passaged doorway, he expected his daughter to be having a roaring cheer in 3... 2... 1...
"Whoaa!"The blonde roared in a cheer. She did a tiny twirl in the massive house hold, laughing the whole way through. She first spotted the living room, after her amazing twirl, she bumped into the sofa which appeared to be a royal blue color. Luckily, Chisato didn't hurt herself too much, since she was still looking about. Next to the beautiful sofa was a simple black chair with a cup holder, the sofa had cup holders to match its friendly friend Mr. chair. Or Mrs. chair.
A crisp cut, flat screen TV set nicely upon the wall of the spacious area, with surround sound on either side of the spectrum (AN: Get it?). It amazed Chisato that this was only the living room; so much could be explored by her. So much will be explored by her. She was an adventurous soul wanting to look at the other rooms.
And so she did exactly that.

"Yes, sir," Shinji was in his study area, working through court material for Chisato. The government insist on changing young children's last names once they are adopted, they can either keep their last name or go to the post office to change their last name legally. Chisato chose to change her last name on her own free will. So, Shinji took initiative to set up an appointment for her.
"Okay. So, that will be Friday at 4:30 pm. Gotcha," the male blonde sets a date on his 2012 smartphone, finding it extremely handy in these situations.
Suddenly, Shinji had another caller on the other line. He saw that it was his... father. He had to act fast because this call could be important to his work, so he thanked the person for his appointment, then hung up to talk to his beloved father. "Hello? Dad?"
Shiji heard how tired his father must of been on account of his father speaking slower than he normally would. "Good afternoon... Son," Shinji's father was the CEO of his business, followed by him was Shinji, he was second in line; the male blonde was President.
"Is something wrong?" Shinji wanted to double check his father was alright. "Oh, yes. I have a little cold, but nothing too... serious. Nothing to... keep me from working," Shinji's father said with reassurance. Shinji wanted to engage in telling his father about his stubbornness for illnesses, but he digressed in the subject. "Alright, Dad, if you're sure... Um. What did you call me for exactly?" The male blonde drastically changed the subject, asking if he needed to be any assistant towards his father.
His father was too quiet for his own being, but he spoke up eventually. "Ah, yes, uh. We have an issue around district Odaiba Beach. They... reported another murderer who killed a couple of our men," his voice cracked a bit from the overwhelming news; Shinji's father is upset things deviated the way they did; he wish something was done differently.
"What!? What the hell happened?" Shinji banged his head against his working desk, enraged with a rude awakening. Luckily, no one in the house heard it.
"W-Well, I heard a few stories, but CEO of the district informed me about the situation. He said a couple of our former men were helping one elderly male who was in a wheelchair. His name was... Matsushita. They described him as disabled; unable to take care of himself, so our men pitched in to caretake him. We thought nothing of it; a simple random act of kindness... Unfortunately, that was not the case. Turns out Matsushita is not disabled; he was faking the whole time. CEO said our men had their eyes poked out and their wounds had an open cut across their chests. They were certain Matsushita was the murderer since his wheelchair was unattended, but they aren't 100% sure yet. That is the information I was given."
Shinji sat speechless during his father's news breaker; he was overwhelmed by the information he had received about another killing of their men. The blonde couldn't believe this happened not long after another incident; he wanted to know who was against them. He wanted to know very badly, but... he didn't have the answer.
"H... H... Have they... have they found where he is..?" Shinji did his best to keep his composure, but it was difficult during a time like this.
"No. That's why... I'm calling you," Shinji's father felt a lump in his throat. He couldn't tell if it was from talking this much, from the thought of their men, or... both. "M-Me?" The blonde male stuttered a question.
"We need you to travel... to Odaiba Beach to investigate. I know you work well with investigations, so, my son, I need you to stay for a couple months."
"Okay... but where will I stay?"
Shinji's father thought for a moment before a light bulb popped into his unstoppable mind. "I'm pretty sure we have a resident beach house in Odaiba. It was kept for backup purposes, in case one of us visited the district, and needed a place to stay, so this should be perfect," Shinji expected his father to be done, so he was about to speak, but his father spoke again.
"And... it's right on the beach so... if you want to have a little vacation with friends or family, then that should work too. It is provided with three bedrooms, which is a reasonable size," Shinji couldn't tell but his father seemed serious about it; he seemed to be aware of what he said. The blonde was a bit scared of that idea... since he will be investing on a... murderer.
"Wouldn't that be dangerous, though? Around Mika and my daughter?" Shinji stated.
"Not if you investigate away from the house. Don't worry, they will be fine— wait daughter??" Shinji's father's voice raised high into a different tone of voice.
"I didn't tell you we adopted a daughter?" Shinji's brow raised on instinct. The blonde's dad stood dumbfounded at the words he just heard from his son.
"No?? Ugh. We'll have a talk about that later. But for now think about your trip plan and the investigation," Shinji's dad nodded his head.
Shinji's face deviated from a surprised look towards a serious look. "I will, Dad... You can count on me," the blonde gave a half smile to himself.
"I know I can. That's all the time I have for now, my son, I will call you later," Shinji's dad's eyes felt heavy from the talking he had done today. Maybe he did need a little resting.
"Alright. I hope you feel better, love you."
"Love you too. Goodbye now," Shinji hung up his phone, contemplating his conversation with his father; he was curious about the situation and on what he was going to do. His dilemma was really something to think about.
"Vacation... huh?"
