Part 3

He came in, threw his coat and laptop bag on the bed and sat beside her. He placed his hand on her shoulder and turned her to face him.

"Khushi, what happened? Is everything fine?"

She replied to him just with a slight nod that made him more curious and worried as he already was.

"Did someone say anything? Daadi?" He asked with gritted teeth.

"No Arnav ji, Daadi ji didn't say anything to me. Everything is fine."

"If everything is fine, why did you deny then?"

Now, her lips started trembling as he asked her directly. She wanted to tell him about her worries but was afraid of his anger. On the other side, it couldn't go on like that. How will this marriage ever complete if she doesn't discuss with him about that.

Overtaking her fear, she finally called him out who was anyways waiting for her reply.

"Arnavji..."

He looked at her raising his brows, gesturing her to continue. But she was not able to meet his gaze at the moment and stood up, facing her back to him.

"I'I, I can't come with you." She said hesitantly.

"Why?" He stood up reflecting a confusion on his face. "Is there any problem?"

So finally it was time to let it out, she thought. But her tongue or was it her heart, just wasn't ready to slip that out.

"I don't...I mean'I...I don't have a passport..." She felt like hitting herself hard for this. Why was she having so much difficulties to tell him what's in her heart.

And there she saw a smile creeping on his lips and he grasped her shoulders.

"That's the big deal? Khushi, you're so silly." While he chuckled, her mouth took a rounded shape and she smacked him slightly on his chest.

"Okay. I'm sorry. But wait a minute."

He went to the wardrobe, opened the drawer and brought a small blue copy out of it to hand it her.

"Here is it!"

She was surprised to see her passport. Just before some seconds, she really didn't have one or just believed not to have it.

"But...this...how...did you do this?"

"Yes, after the kidnapping, I was scared to lose you. So I let our marriage being registered on the very first day and also your passport-" Before he could continue, she interrupted.

"So we are married legally?"

"Yes and-" He answered casually and again she took the word without letting him complete his sentence.

"But Arnavji, our marriage is incomplete." As soon as she let it out, he looked at her with a 'what da' expression. Where did this came from now again, he thought.

"What do you mean Khushi? We married in front of your Devi Maiya and now even legally we're husband-wife, so where's the problem?"

He was serene yet and that gave her the courage to speak up finally.

"Arnavji, the problem is that without the nuptial rounds, a relation isn't considered marriage." She turned her back to him for the next line she was going to utter. Somewhere her heart knew, it will hurt him.

"The rituals, elder's blessings, everything means a lot. And Suhagraat and Honeymoon...this'...without marriage is a sin."

He needed to replay her words in his mind to be sure he heard right. She really tagged their love making as sin. Something that was pure love for him was considered a sin by her. His tenderness and feelings were called sin. His fondness and affection were viewed deplorable, as offense and violation from her. From her!

He stood still at first, wondering if she had indeed said that.

"So that's what you think of our love, our relation, a SIN?" He tried to remain calm.

"N-no, Arnavji I'I-" She moved to place her hand on his arm but he stepped back.

"That's why you denied to come with me tomorrow! Do you think I want to take you for THAT only? Am I so cheap to you?"

His tranquility was trialled off meanwhile and before she could answer shaking her head, he continued.

"I am really going for some work there and can't leave you alone here for two weeks. Once Daadi will tell you to leave, you would happily obey her taking it as elder's blessing."

She captured his words understanding his point of view. It was his concern for her to take her with him. Not any lust and physical desires. Realizing this, she felt guilty.

"Arnavji-" She spoke to apologize and in order to sort it out but he didn't let her.

"But if you don't want to come then it's okay. I will leave you at Buaji's place tomorrow. You don't need to commit a SIN again by coming with me."

He walked away with a boiling mind not giving her a chance to speak and banged the door of the washroom. She shivered at the echoing sound of the door and tears filled in her eyes. She had successfully annoyed him.

He didn't listen or talk to her for the rest of the evening. He was just too frustrated with this behavior of her. How could she even think of that? A sin? He couldn't apprehend it. She really considered their first time ever a sin. He so wanted to talk to her but he knew that only harsh words would slid off his tongue that would hurt her and him. So better let it be!

In the night, when Arnav was sleeping, his hand unintentionally landed on the other side to take his wife into a hug but feeling the place empty, his eyes shut open and his heart skipped a beat remembering their more or less fight. What if she left? No, that can't be! He somehow tried to console himself.

He immediately pulled the quilt aside to get out and just then sighed in relief. She was seating on ledge of their room outside at the poolside looking up on the sky.

She is upset and must be talking to her parents surely, he thought.

Finally he realized that she was also hurt by his behavior. He shouldn't do that. After all, he was going away tomorrow and shouldn't leave her like that.

There the time before his kidnapping flashed in his mind when he was heading to London leaving her all teary and heartbroken. He was going to repeat it again. The thought stung his heart and he got up to join her.

As soon as she felt someone wiping her lone tear, she turned her head and looked at him with her moist eyes.

"I'm sorry..." And there she finally let it out. An apology!

He shook his head and pulled her into his arms. Without objection, she wrapped her arms around his back and rested her head on his chest.

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have behaved like that." He spoke with remorse to be heard clearly in his voice.

"And me? I hurt you a lot. How could I think that to be a sin?"

"Sssh..." He pulled her face up to wipe the salty water coming out of her eyes.

"You want our marriage to be complete?" She nodded light at his question and he smiled kissing her temple.

"Okay, after I come back from America, we'll marry again traditionally, just as you want."

"Really?" She asked excitedly with shining eyes. He nodded approving with a smile.

"Thank you, Arnavji." She now threw her arms around his neck feeling heavenly.

"I love you!" Those three words sounded like melodious song to his ears. She also finally confessed her love. Their heartbeats increased with the same rhythm. He was so happy and kissed her forehead.

"I love you too!"

The hug maintained for some minutes and they pulled back looking into each others eyes and stood up.

"Khushi, come on let's go to sleep now. I have to wake up tomorrow. My flight is at 11 already."

"Ah yes, but you are not the only one, I also have to wake up early. My flight is at 11 as well."

Arnav eyed her with frowned brows, questioning her silently.

Khushi knew, what he might be thinking and could read the query in his eyes. She held his arm into hers' and pouted looking straight.

"Actually, the thing is that you already bought my ticket. And it will be a waste of money if I don't fly with you now. Flights are anyways very expensive."

He chuckled at his laughing beauty and then next again saw her pouting.

"And there's also one more reason." He narrowed his eyes as she continued.

"I can't take a risk and leave you alone in a foreign country. What if you find an angrezi sautan for me? My perfect wedding plans will blow away."

Both laughed at her naughtiness and he grabbed her hand to get her in front of him.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Raizada. I love you and will always love you only. No one will ever replace you."

They gazed at each other sharing an eye lock and embraced each other after coming back to their senses.

"By the way Arnavji, can I ask you something?"

"Hmm..." He hummed telling her to continue.

"Signatures are needed for passport and on marriage certificate but I never-"

Arnav already got her and took on from there.

"I am Arnav Singh Raizada, it is not difficult for me to take anybody's signatures. Especially my wife's!"

She looked up pulling her head out of his chest and tried to make out his meaning. But he just smirked at her. His wifey doesn't know what he all can do. She is just too innocent. Living with her Arnavji, she has forgotten the sharp and smart ASR in him.

"Come on now, let's go to sleep." He took a confused Khushi inside and they slept after sometime on the bed hugging each other.

Next morning, the couple stood up early not to get late. They decided to do the packing at first and then have their showers.

Khushi stood in front of her cupboard and was having difficulties in choosing her clothes. Arnav who was placing his suits in the bag, looked at Khushi and asked.

"Khushi, why are you standing like a statue. Hurry up!"

"Arnavji, I can't find good dresses to take with me. These are almost all to wear at home. I didn't buy any new dress recently."

Khushi was thinking about this! He was surprised. He didn't think she would ever be worried about things like wardrobe.

"Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada can't wear old dresses in the U.S.A, isn't it?" She proudly asked it somewhere joking.

But he smirked and headed towards her. "You don't need to worry about that. Did you forget what NK said?"

Her face fell when she saw his naughty smile fixed on his lips and NK's words echoed in her ears. She couldn't help but blush and look down.

He soon leaned over to whisper something in her ears. "I love to see you blush Khushi."

Before her knees go weak, she pushed him and ran into the bathroom to escape his seductive husky voice.

Her heart was beating on its highest rate and she smacked herself on the head to express something that he would take for granted.

But her smile again adorned her face, thinking about the upcoming two weeks. God knows, what he he has planned already.
