24. Cut The Chiz

This book is nearly over, y'all! I might update until I finish it but I'm not sure yet x

Thursday and Friday was fast spent and Saturday afternoon (2:30PM precisely) soon came, so before they knew it, Kayden, Thalia and Tazeena had soon put their plan into action.

They were right in front of Ashanti's house now, and all of them had unanimously decided to pretend to be pizza delivery guys in order to deceive Ashanti and capture her later.

Kayden was about to press the doorbell to enter their house but they didn't, because as usual, Tazeena was kind of completely against all of their plan.

Poor kid.

She was so sweet, but she didn't really have a choice on whether she wanted to be here or not, as Shealtiel was her father and he had almost always forced her to do things she might not have always wanted to do.

She was worried what would have happened if they had gotten caught and if they had gotten in trouble for what they were doing right now.

That was why they were all in disguise in the first place. So no one could have known their real identities and all that.

Once again though, Kayden had calmed her down before finally knocking on the doorbell once and for all.

Neither of Ashanti's parents had answered the door at first, and Ashanti couldn't really have answered it anyway as she was still grounded for getting suspended at school.

Meaning that she wasn't allowed downstairs unless stated otherwise or something.

As Kayden was a pretty impatient person and all that, he was therefore a little bit annoyed over how long it was taking them to open the door on the inside.

Thalia had then wrongly assumed that nobody was in the house, but Kayden had informed her that none of what she had said just now was true because he could have heard someone inside.

After what had felt like centuries but was really only like two to three minutes, Khadijah (Ashanti's mother in case forgotten) had opened the door, apologising to them for the delay as she was cooking something but she had accidentally burnt it in the oven.

She had asked them what they were really here for, with Thalia explaining to her that they had a pizza delivery for Ashanti.

"OK, but why's there three of you though? Kinda suspicious just for one pizza, don't you think?"

That was actually a really good question.

A really good question.

That nobody had known the answer to.

Kayden, Thalia and Tazeena had kept on looking at each other as if they didn't have a clue on how to answer Khadijah's question, before Tazeena had decided to say something once and for all.

"Our friend Kayden here is new to this neighbourhood, and he didn't know the way. Thalia here is his sister and I'm their friend. I know the way show I showed them. He's kinda new to this job, haha."

Luckily Khadijah had completely fallen for that.

She was a bit skeptical at first, but then when all of them had smiled at her, she had smiled back, believing that they were telling the truth about everything.

She was a bit mad that Ashanti had ordered pizza, especially when she was grounded and her phone was taken away from her to begin with...

But apparently, Ashanti hadn't even ordered the pizza.

Both of them had kind of argued over this for a while, that was until Khadijah had called Ashanti to go and talk to all three of them herself.

She was reluctant to do so at first because she didn't even know who Kayden, Thalia or Tazeena were, so she had rolled her eyes before talking to them once and for all.

"Pepperoni pizza, just for you," Kayden had smiled at her, with Ashanti just staring him down very suspiciously.

Unexpectedly, because none of them were expecting this at all, Ashanti had then closed the door behind her, talking to all three of them rather annoyingly.

"Alright. Cut the chiz. I didn't order pepperoni pizza at all. I know better than to do that when I'm grounded. And even if I did order it, there's a specific person that delivers it to me that's not you three. So who are you guys and what are you doing here?" She had demanded, folding her arms.

Dang.

Ashanti was a lot smarter than all of them had thought.

Although to be honest?

Tazeena had kind of figured out that none of this was going to work out in the first place anyway.

No one had told her anything, because they were pretty embarrassed about the entire situation to say anything to her.

Thalia had sighed, explaining everything to her.

They were part of the Sugar & Spice organisation as well, and oftentimes Missy Elliott or Rihanna had told them to welcome their new members by delivering their favourite pizza to them.

Ashanti was very distrustful about this, but at the same time? They had kind of sounded as though they were telling the truth.

But then there was another thing...

"If y'all are part of the Sugar & Spice organisation, then how comes I've never seen any of you guys before today?"

"Because we work underground in the Sugar & Spice headquarters. Some people stay there but some people don't instead. Rihanna said that we should get to know you." Kayden had unfolded. "Also, we're kind of new to this neighbourhood, so we need some help getting to know this area. We had to ask a stranger for help. But he's gone now."

Pfft.

Lies.

What Ashanti didn't realise was that Tazeena had told Khadijah something completely different to what Kayden had just told Ashanti.

Tazeena had told Khadijah that she had helped Kayden and Thalia find the way here, but Kayden had told Ashanti something kind of contrasting to that entirely.

Ashanti had refused to help them out, about to shut the door on them completely, but then Khadijah had come in halfway...

Pretty much telling Ashanti that she should have helped them out (even though that she didn't want to), but Ashanti had just argued back that she was grounded so she couldn't really have gone outside even if she wanted to.

But Khadijah didn't want to hear it.

She had forced Ashanti to help them out, closing the door on her before she had the chance to say anything to defend herself.

Ashanti had just stared at all of them in irritation for a while, with them doing the same thing to her before fake smiling at them.

"I swear, if all of this is a lie and you guys are secretly evil people out to get me, then I'm not going to be very happy..."

Thalia had told them that they were nothing of the sort, with Tazeena about to disagree completely, that was until both Kayden and Thalia had given her a dirty look...

So she had kept quiet, before telling Ashanti that Thalia was right before sighing to herself.

They had all agreed to go to the park together, with Kayden and Thalia very secretly winking at each other whilst Ashanti and Tazeena were right in front of them.

Discreetly, Kayden had then called Shealtiel and Kentrell from back at the headquarters, telling them that they had their target.

"Awesome. When the time is right, use sleeping gas on her and bring her here so that we can capture her."

"On it," Kayden had replied, before ending the call and following the girls that were walking right in front of him.

Ashanti hadn't realised the trap that she had fallen into...

But she was going to find this out sooner or later.

For now?

Well...

She just had to enjoy her time with them before she had gotten kidnapped really.

Easier said than done though.

Way easier.
