16. Double Trouble

• • • • • • • •

Whilst Kehlani's parents were arguing with Ashanti's parents over how bad their children were, in terms of influences on each other, Kehlani himself was walking to his car... but his plans were derailed completely.

Why?

Because just as he was about to enter his car to go inside, there was Trinity and Cassidy, walking uninvitedly to him.

Cassidy had deeply fancied Kehlani, but Kehlani inevitably didn't like her back, not even as a friend. Either way, literally when he was about to enter the car?

Cassidy stopped him by turning his back towards her.

"Heyyy, Kehlani!" She had flirted, twirling her hair like crazy.

Kehlani had just stared at her for a really long time, frowning at her before asking her what the hell she had wanted.

"What do you want, Trinity and Cassidy? I'm not in the mood right now." He had enquired them, folding his arms and looking at both of them.

"Why's that, sugar plum?" Cassidy wanted to know, resting her face on his shoulders, only for Kehlani to tell her to back off.

"And why are you so pissed at Ashanti?" Trinity added. "Be happy. That idiot is finally out of your life. Why aren't you happy about that? Be happy about that!"

Yeah, but he had a crush on her.

A huge crush on her.

Kehlani and Ashanti weren't speaking to each other for the time being, but that didn't suddenly mean that he had lost all feelings for her, because he didn't.

They had argued millions of times before to each other in the past- of course they did. Who didn't?

He obviously wasn't going to tell Trinity and Cassidy that he had liked her, although he had rejected Cassidy more than enough times, and it was getting on his nerves now.

It was even worse for Kehlani when Cassidy had got real close to him, hugging him and everything, with Trinity just watching her in the far distance.

Kehlani had tried to push her away (especially when Cassidy had tried to kiss him) but when he had done so, he had accidentally dropped his parents' car keys in the hole right in front of him.

He hadn't realised this at first, that was until the kid had looked down.

When he had finally noticed that he had unintentionally dropped the keys, he was absolutely furious at Trinity and Cassidy, literally pushing Cassidy to the car right behind her, just like the kid had deserved.

"What the heck, Cassidy?! Now I just dropped my parents car keys! I'm going to get into so much trouble for that & it's all your fault!"

He was going to get into trouble, yeah.

But not as much trouble as Ashanti.

As soon as Ashanti had arrived home, both of her parents were really really mad at her, like crazy.

In fact, when they had opened the door to enter the house, the first thing Khadijah and Romario (Ashanti's parents) had done was to send their daughter to the sitting room...

...For them to have a serious discussion with her over getting suspended for three weeks.

"What the hell were you thinking, Ashanti?! Fighting Kehlani like that?"

"He completely deserved it! He was taunting me because Trinity and Cassidy had framed me!"

"That does not make what you did OK!" Romario had condemned, whist Khadijah was just walking to and fro in circles, facepalming herself because she was so frustrated.

Dang, Ashanti had messed up now, and it honestly did not take a genius to realise that.

"Violence is never the answer, Ashanti, and you know that!" Khadijah condemned. "You know what? You're grounded for even longer than you were last time. For good. Go to your room now."

"But-"

"Now!"

Ashanti had given both of her parents an annoyed glance, before annoyingly storming upstairs to her room and shutting the door behind her in frustration.

Well, at least her phone wasn't confiscated...

Actually, it was.

But she had known where her parents had hidden it (last drawer in her cupboard) so therefore before the girl had gone to her room, she had firstly gone to her parents' room to get her phone.

Jeez. This is a terrible hiding place, Ashanti had thought to herself, taking her phone from her parents' room and then smiling.

But then again, they don't exactly know that I know my phone is there, so I don't really blame them for not hiding it anywhere else.

As discreetly as she could, Ashanti had then closed the drawer behind her before exiting her parents' room and heading to her room instead.

Switching on her phone, Ashanti had then thought about what had just happened between her, Trinity, Cassidy and Kehlani in Mrs Ashkenazi's office until her phone had eventually turned on afterwards.

When Ashanti wasn't using her phone (for a long time) she had oftentimes switched it off, because she had thought that it would have saved battery that way, but it really didn't.

Not always, anyway.

When Ashanti had switched on her phone, she wasn't very surprised to see that there weren't really any notifications from anyone on social media or through text messaging either.

She also had this tracker to see who had unfollowed her on social media, with her face falling when she had seen that Kehlani had unfollowed her from Instagram, as that was the only social media she had, to post her drawings and all that (the girl had drawn in her free time).

She had tried not to let this bother her too much, although she couldn't really have helped herself when she had gone to Kehlani's phone conversation with her, reading it thoroughly.

Kehlani
Last texted 2 weeks ago

Ashanti:
You're the greatest best friend I've ever had

Kehlani:
I feel the same way about you

Ashanti:
I love you Kehlani. As a best friend

Kehlani:
I love you too x

Ashanti:
Promise to be best friends forever?

Kehlani:
I was thinking that from the start xx

Kehlani:
Gotta go. See you later

Ashanti:
You too.

How ironic.

The promising to the best friends forever thing anyway.

Ashanti was really mad at herself when she had seen a message saying 'You can't text Kehlani, you're blocked' sighing to herself.

The only person I have is mad at me.

Gosh, I really hate my life.

Also... an even bigger problem.

How am I going to explain to Rihanna that I'm grounded and I can't make it on Saturday?

Speaking of Rihanna, Ashanti's plans of meeting her weren't completely derailed, as the kid had gotten a text just now from Rihanna anyway.

Hey boo. I can't do Saturday. I just realised I'm doing my hair, and I'm crazy busy tomorrow, so how about we meet up today, if you're down for it?

Ashanti's fingers had typed out a reply before she had even realised it.

Today?

Rihanna:
Yes, today.

Ashanti:
I got school tomorrow.

Then she realised.

Oh wait. I'm grounded, and suspended.

For some reason, Rihanna was very happy about this, making this evident in her next reply.

Ooh! Good girl gone bad, I see? What happened? Spill the beans.

But what Ashanti didn't realise was that Rihanna was being nice to her now.

But in real life?

She was going to treat her evilly, just like she had done before.

Long arse story you ain't got time for. Anyway, where should I meet you?

Krondon Alleyway

Ashanti had said that she would have met her there in ten minutes, then their conversation was over.

Now?

Well.

All the girl had to do was sneak out.

Sneak out...

Without her parents noticing.
