"Hi babygirl," I smiled and held up my daughter. She had Shawn's eyes, light and captivating. "Wanna go wake up daddy?" I asked and she nodded quickly, making grabby hands towards me.

I laughed and then picked her up as she stuck her thumb in her mouth. "You're coming with daddy to work." I told her and she laughed that cute little giggle that could lighten any mood ever.

"Okay mama."

We went to Shawn and I's bedroom and I set her on the bed, letting her jump up and down rapidly on top of it. "Daddy! Daddy! Up!" She yelled and giggled when she fell on her butt.

"Yeah daddy, get up." I said and he put his arm over his eyes as he laid on his back. "Come on daddy, get up."

"Melody Diane..." He spoke up, causing her to be quiet. He only used her middle name when she was in trouble. I figured she's gathered that by now.

"Go on baby, daddy is just being a butt." I said and she giggled. Shawn's lips curled into a smile and I picked Melody up, setting her down on his stomach.

"Daddy! Get up!" She whined and he wrapped his arms behind her, smiling down at her. "He's up." She told me and I nodded.

"Morning babygirl." He said and then kissed her forehead. "Did mommy make you do this?" He asked and she nodded, ratting me up.

"Come here." He said and looked at me, a mischevious smile on his lips. I nodded and then sat down beside him, and he forced me so sit as close as I could.

"Don't look princess." He said and then covered Melody's eyes and he gave me a kiss. "You gotta learn to let me sleep."

"You'll be late if I did." I said and he checked the clock. "Get that ass up Mendes." I told him and he nodded.

"Alright, I'm not mad anymore." He said and I rolled my eyes as he uncovered our daughter's eyes. "You're not dressed." He pointed out.

"Mommy said to wait."

"For what?"

"For you." She said and Shawn rolled his eyes. He sat up and Melody crawled off of hid lap. "Daddy," she pouted and he pressed a quick kiss against her lips.

"I gotta use the bathroom princess. Mommy's gonna get you dressed." He said and then looked at me. "And then get dressed herself."

"Hold on there, I'm not going-"

"You are now." He smiled and then winked before standing up. He went to our bathroom and I looked at Melody.

"Daddy is a butthead." I said and she giggled loudly, pushing her dark hair out of her face.
I picked her up and then took her to her room, setting her down on the bed. "What do you wanna wear baby?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders.

I grabbed a white skirt and grey t-shirt, setting them on her bed before grabbing black flats and and black jacket. "Come here Mel," I said and she walked infront of me.

I helped her undress and then I put her new clothes on, not before taking the chance to blow raspberries on her tummy. She giggled and I put the shirt over her torso, tucking it into her skirt.

She pushed her hair out of her face and then slipped on her flats after I finished. "Come, I gotta fix your hair." I said and she nodded as I sat her down on a chair.

She looked behind me and laughed. "Daddy is behind you." She said and I rose my eyebrow at her as Shawn groaned.

"You were supposed to tell her!" He said and she shrugged, a milling innocently as I brushed her hair, leaving her hair in curls but putting into a half ponytail.

"Always tell me." I said quietly and she nodded as I clipped a bow into her hair. "Is daddy dressed?" I asked and she shook her head.

"No." She hugged and crossed her arms. "Daddy!" She whined and he crouched down beside me.

"I'm sorry, do you want me to get dressed right now?" He asked and she nodded. "Mommy has to come with though, she's not dressed either."

"Go." She shoo'ed and I laughed. "Go get dressed.'" She told us as she jumped up.

"You heard the boss." Shawn said and I stood up, scoffing to myself. "Come on love, I have fifteen minutes."

"I hate you." I whispered and he shook his head, kissing my temple. I felt pressure on my leg and it was Melody trying to push us our of her room. "We're going! We're going!" I laughed and she nodded affirmitavely.

We walked through paparazzi and his fans quickly, unable to stop for pictures because of the security guards. Shawn held Melody with one arm, and he held my hand with his free one.

When we finally got to the building, he set her down and she skipped through the studio. "Hey hey hey, come here." I said and ran up to her, grabbing her hand.

I grabbed her hand and she looked up at me. "No running off missy." I said and she whined.

"Mendes?" A receptionist asked and we nodded. "First door to the left." She told us and we followed her directions.

We walked into a room and there were cameras and a lot of microphones. I took my headphones off from around my neck and then smiled as I set them on the table but a chair.

"Who is this cutie?" The interviewer asked and I smiled as he looked at Melody.

"This is just my fiancée, she's the cutest." Shawn said and put an arm around my waist. "Oh, you mean Mel. That's our little girl." He told him and Melody waved.

"Hello mister. Did you know there's a billion people outside?" She asked and then ran to the window, looking outside of it as she smiled.

"I did. Did you know they are all here for you, your daddy, and your mommy?" He asked and she waved outside.

"Really?" She asked and looked at us. Shawn nodded and she smiled widely. "Do they like us?"

"They love you guys." The interviewer said and she looked back outside. "I'm Gerrad. I'll be asking all the questions. Are you guys ready?" He asked, talking to us now instead of her.

"Yeah," Shawn said and nodded. "Mel? Come here now babygirl." He said and she came running up to him. He picked her up and then sat down on a chair with her on his lap.

They handed him and I headphones, and Mel pouted because she didn't get any. "Here baby." I said and handed her mine even though they weren't connected. She put them on and I laughed as the interviewer looked at us

"We are joined here today by the soon to br Mr. and the Mrs. Mendes with their little girl, guys?" He said and we all said hi into a microphone. "Melody just told me there a billions of girls outside. She isn't exaggerating."

"They're all here to see daddy." She said loudly and I nodded as Shawn laughed, his cheeks going red.

"So you guys are both one day away from a four month vacation, holidays and all, what do you guys plan on doing? Any special places?" He asked and Shawn looked at me.

"As everyone knows, this coming January we're tying the knot so that's exciting." He said and I nodded as I looked at him. "We're actually going go be with my parents for the holidays."

"I get to see grandma and grandpa." Melody said and they all coo'ed at how adorable she is. "I'm gonna drink all the hot cocoa."

"You like hot cocoa?" Gerrad asked and she nodded quickly. "Guess that makes two of us." He spoke and we laughed.

"It's funny because she only drinks cocoa that my mom or Monica makes. If I make it, she won't drink it." Shawn said and I nodded.

"Yeah, it's pretty bad. She only likes Karen and I's hot cocoa... with exactly five marshmallows because why?" I asked and Mel piped up.

"Because I'm five!"

"If I put a marshmallow in a cup for every year I've been alive, let's just say we wouldn't have space for cocoa." Gerrad said and we all laughed.

"Right?" Shawn asked and smiled. "You don't look that old man. You look good." He told him.

"You too Mendes." The interviewer replied and then looked at us. "How hard is it to be two full time musicians and raise a kid? And Shawn you even have a record label and company on top of that? It seems difficult."

"It is kinda. I'm always away but that just makes the time I come home even more special." He said and Gerrad nodded. "Although, I'm trying the whole work from home method for my company like Monica is. It's helping a lot." He said and I nodded.

"Yeah, I work from home a majority of the time, so it's all good for us. Our friends help us out a lot when we're too busy. She loves her uncle's G and JJ. Auntie Mads and KiKi come over no matter what convite or no invite." I said and Shawn nodded. "It's easy to take care of her, but it just sucks sometimes because Melody gets sad and always asks when daddy will be home."

"Aww." He said and Shawn nodded. "Does this result in a lot of phone calls and skype calls?"

"Way too many." Shawn told us. "It will be three in the morning in their time, and they'll know I just finished a concert or whatever and bam, skype call or phone call. She will not sleep if I don't sing to her."

I looked at Melody and she was staring down at her jacket, playing with the zipper. She seemed to be in her own little world.

"Sometimes I have to go on YouTube and play a video so she'd fall asleep." I said and we all looked at Mel.

"Is it one specific song or just any?"

"Well any works, but she likes especially Never Be Alone." Shawn told him and I nodded. "It's her favorite one and it puts her to asleep in like three seconds, I'm not even kidding."

"Sing a bit of it, I don't know if I remember that song." Gerrad said and Shawn cleared his throat, catching Mel's attention.

"Take a piece of my heart and make it all your own, so when we are apart, we'll never be alone." He sang and then pinched Melody's nose lightly as he rocked her back and forth. "You'll never be alone, when you miss me close your eyes I may be far but never gone-"

"And when you fall asleep tonight just remember that we lay under the same stars," Melody sang with him and I pulled my phone out.

The two sang the song and I just had to record this. Everyone inside of the studio aww'ed at them and she leaned her head on Shawn's chest, yawning quietly.

I ended it when they stopped singing and the people around us clapped. "I remembered the song, I just wanted to hear you sing it." Gerrad told him and I laughed.

"Well played." I said and he nodded. "I think Mel is gonna fall asleep. You alright princess?"

"I'm awake mama." She said and took my headphones off. She put them on the table and then rubbed her eyes.

"You sure there sweetheart?" Shawn asked and she nodded quickly as he rubbed her back.

"No, okay, I'm sleepy now daddy." She said and I laughed as I made grabby hands towards Shawn.

He handed her to me and I cradled her in my arms as they continued the interview. She placed her thumb in her mouth and I sighed. She just won't keep it out of her mouth.

She fell asleep in my arms and Shawn smiled over at us. "I love my girls with all my heart. There hasn't been a moment that's passed where I wondered... what if we didn't meet or what if she wanted born. I don't eant to imagine a life without either of them."

"We love you too." I said and he looked over at Gerrad. "Mel would say it too but she's asleep."

"What can I say? I have the kind of voice that makes you wanna fall asleep." He said and laughed.

"I wish I could have you sing me to every night." Gerrad said and I laughed lightly. "Is that weird?"

"No, no you're good. Just shoot me a call, I'll sing a verse or two." Shawn told him and I shook my head at how dorky he could be sometimes. "I'll put you and Mel to sleep at the same time. It's all good."

God I loved that idiot way too much.
