Chapter Fourteen
- unedited xx -
"Really?"
"Yeah! It was hilarious! He used to be so insecure, and he just ran off camera!" JJ told me and I laughed. "Dude was always freaking ripped though."
"Was he?"
"He looked like twenty when he was barely like sixteen or seventeen. Muscles fucking everywhere dude." He said and laughed. "Goals."
"I can buy that. He does love staying in shape." I said and he nodded. "He loves exercising. He whines when I don't want to go to the gym with him."
"Not everyone wants muscles for days." He said and I nodded as he laughed. "We all used to be very insecure. I guess over time, it kinda fades away."
"Yeah?" I asked and he nodded. "You don't seem to sure of your words." I pushed and he laughed.
"It's nothing." He told me, shrugging it off. "It's not a big deal, just personal stuff."
"Mhm." I said, not believing him. "Is G still asleep?" I asked and he nodded.
"Is Shawn still asleep?"
"He's getting dressed, showering right now." I said and he nodded as I sat down beside him. "Look Johnson-"
"Jack-"
"There's one too many Jack's on this bus currently." I said and he laughed. "You probably won't tell me things, and I understand. We just really met yesterday. But you're funny, you're talented, and you're cute. Stop stressing over girls and your image when you got a lot of stuff going for you. Let fate take its course."
"Fate doesn't exist. Your life isn't planned out for you. You make your life, and I just don't wanna fuck up." He told me and I nudged him.
"Everone fucks up J. You just gotta learn from them. Maybe you'll make the same mistake twice, but everyone messes up. It's apart of life." I told him and he sighed.
"I guess." He said and I gave him a hug. "Thanks Monica. I kinda need that."
"Of course you did. I know what everyone needs." I joked and he laughed as I rubbed his back.
"I need a girlfriend."
"Can't help you there." I said and he nodded, telling me that he knew that. "My friends are either taken, underaged, or across country." I told him.
He laughed and shook his head, telling me he didn't need me to set him up with anyone. "Any particular reason the girl wasn't your type?" I asked, still pushing the story of this mysterious girl.
"She didn't compliment me. You're supposed to compliment one another." He said and I laughed.
"Like literally?" I asked and he shook his head. "She didn't go, 'hey Jack, nice hair'? That monster." I gasped.
"Metaphorically." He said with a roll of his eyes and I nodded as he sighed. "She liked G."
"Pardon?"
"She liked G. She hung out with me to be able to get to him, even though he has a girl.'" He said and ran a hand through his hair. "It's always G." He breathed out.
"Hey, don't think that." I said and he shrugged, his elbows resting on his knees. "Did she like straight up tell you?"
"She didn't tell me, hell no she didn't. I overheard her talking on the phone with her friends. If you're going to talk shit while you're getting dressed at that person's house, at least don't have your phone on speaker, or the necklace they bought for you around your neck." He said and I scoffed.
"That's a bitch move." I said as he nodded. "She didn't deserve you. I just met you and even I know you're a good guy."
"I like to think I am." He said and I nodded. His eyes looked behind me and I followed the.. "Hey Shawn, what's up?" He asked and I hope he didn't get the wrong idea.
"I'm gonna borrow Monica for a moment." He said, rubbing a towel over his wet hair and holding it infront of him.
"Yeah, that's fine. We can talk after." He told me and I nodded as I stood up. Mr. Mendes led me to the back of the bus, and then into the bathroom.
"I really need you babygirl." He said, running a hand through my hair and tilting my gaze into his. "I woke up needing you, but you weren't in bed then."
"I was making coffee, sorry daddy." I apologized and he shrugged. "There are people here though." I said and he pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back and then shook my head. "When we're alone, really alone. I don't need your friends hearing us."
"Just be quiet." He said and slid his hand under my tank-top. "Please." He said and I really didn't want to because of his two friends on the other side of the door. No doubt they'd get suspicious, and I feel kinda bad.
I mean JJ just spilled his heart to me about being single, how was I gonna get with one of his best friends with him not even a yard away? That's not right.
"Can't you wait til we get to hotel room tonight?" I asked and he huffed. "Please? Then we can do whatever you want." I said and he hummed.
"Whatever I want?"
"Mhm." I said and he nodded, agreeing to it. "Thank you for understanding daddy."
"Just excited for tonight." He told me and I nodded as he rose an eyebrow. "Now what's going on between you and Jack? You're both pretty close."
"We're just friends." I told him and he nodded. "Promise. I'm with you." I told him, lacing our fingers together.
"Damn right you are." He told me and kissed my forehead. "Fuck, I need a shower again." He breathed out and I gave him a sheepish smile.
"Think of dead puppies?"
"I'm trying to kill a boner, not my heart." He said and I rolled my eyes. "I'll deal with it I guess."
"Don't be too loud." I said and he huffed as I reached for the doorknob. "Also, try not to have so much PDA. I feel bad."
"Why?"
"Because, JJ just told me about how the girl he liked used him. I feel like it'd be a slap to the fave to see us on each other every second in front of him." I told him and he sighed.
"Fine, only because I respect you and him." He said and I thanked him. "You owe me babygirl."
"I know daddy, I'll make it up to you, I promise." I said and gave him one last kiss before leaving the small room.
I shut the door and saw JJ messing around with his Snapchat. "Trying to take the perfect selfie? You dweeb." I said and he laughed.
"Trying? I am." He said and I rolled my eyes as he took a selfie. "Posted." He said and I just shook my head. "What did Shawn want?"
"He asked where I put his comb. I was cleaning the bathroom earlier." I said and he nodded as I sat down on the couch with him. "How long are you and G staying?"
"Probs until the night after Shawn's lil' award show. We have to go record some new material and stuff. Why, irritated of us already?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nah."
"I see how it is." He told me and I heard a door opened. "Shawn?"
"It's Jack."
"Ah G, morning dude." Johnson said and G hummed ads he rubbed his eyes. "You hit hard last night. Harder than Shawn and he had a concert."
"I was tired dude." He told us and I crossed my legs.
"Shawn is getting a hotel tonight. If you want, maybe he can get you a room or two." I said and G said they'll do that themselves. "You sure?"
"Yeah, don't worry your pretty little head." Johnson said and I shook my head. "It's alright."
"Okay, just making sure." I told him and G sat down on top of Johnson. I laughed with G and JJ groaned.
"Dude, you're fucking fat, get off of me."
"Move over then man." G said and JJ sat up since he was laying down. Gilinsky made himself confortable between the two of us and I told him that he could have just sat on my otherside. "Nah, I'm comfortable beside Jack now."
"Gay." JJ said and I laughed as Shawn stepped out. His usual long sleeved shirt and black skinny jeans was on, this time including a leather jacket.
"Monica, have you seen my phone?" He asked and I shook my head. "I lost it somewhere."
"I don't know where it is." I told him and stood up to help him find it. "Want me to call it?"
"Yes please."
I dialed his number as JJ and G stood up, helping us look. I didn't hear it ring from anywhere. "Did you leave it at the aren-"
"I had it this morning." He told me and G looked in the back of the bus. "I need my phone. Where is it?" He asked loudly, growing afraid that he genuinely lost it.
I realized my phone went to voicemail, I hung up and then called it again. "I think I hear it." JJ said and walked into the front of the bus.
He furrowed his eyebrows together and opened the fridge. "Dude..." He pulled his phone out and I laughed as Shawn blushed several shades of red. "Did it overheat or-"
"Yes."
Shawn grabbed it after answering quickly and then put it in his pocket. "Did you find it?" G asked as he walked up to us.
"Yeah, we found it. It was in the fridge." JJ said and G laughed as he shook his head. "You're still an idiot Mendes."
"I guess some things never change." He told them and they agreed.
