Chapter Four
I straightened out my blue dress and then fixed the coat over my arms before walking towards the counter. It wasn't terribly busy, so the wait wasn't too long.
"How may I help you?" She asked me as I took my sunglasses off.
"I'm here for my meeting with Mr. Mendes, my name is Monica Ramirez." I said and then quickly signed a paper before following her.
I was even more worried than the last time I was here. Sharing a rather intimate night with Mr. Mendes wasn't very smart considering I was trying to gain the position of his assistant. Last I check, you don't sleep with your boss, or in better words, you shouldn't.
"Through this door." She said and I nodded as I looked at the familiar door. Instead of knocked like before, I set my shaking hand on the doorknob and opened it, walking in and shutting it.
"Monica, sit down." He said and I did. I could hear my heavy heart beating and my heels against the tiled flooring.
"Good morning Mr. Mendes." I said, my voice coming off stronger than I actually felt.
"Good morning," he said and smiled a bit as he folded his arms over his chest. "How have you been?" He asked me.
"Good, amazing." I said, calming down as we had a normal conversation, almost as if we were friends. "And you sir?"
"Busy, extremely busy." He said and I nodded. "What made things amazing?" He asked.
"My friend got a job as a stylist for Taylor Swift and I'm super happy for her. I met her the other day when she went to go sign contracts. It was the coolest thing ever." I said and he sat up.
"Ah, Ms. Swift, always a pleasure." He said and I nodded. He stood up and walked in front of his desk, leaning back and sitting against the dark oak.
"Do you remember, Ms. Ramirez, do you remember Friday night?" He asked me and my cheeks went red.
"I um... yes sir, I do." I said, thinking back to the dinner we had and what we did on his bedroom.
The thought made me even redder.
"Now I'm not going to nitpick the entire night and ask about it, but did you enjoy that night?" He asked me and I was at a loss for words.
I wasn't sure if this was some kind of trick question or not. Maybe he was testing me? But for what?
Regardless, the truth was always the best bet.
"I did, yeah, I enjoyed it." I said honestly as he tapped his fingers against his desk. "Did you?" I asked, somehow mustering up enough courage and confidence to let the words leave my mouth.
"I did." He said and chuckled. "Ms. Ramirez, I can't offer you the job, with little experience and knowledge on the music and business world, I can't take that chance."
I nodded and he looked at me, clearly catching how upset I was. "But," he started and I bit the inside of my cheek. "I have a proposition." He told me.
"What-What is it?"
"You need money right?" He asked and I nodded. "You want to learn more about what I do; business and music, correct?"
"Yes sir."
"I can help you with your money and education." He told me and I nodded, unsure of where this was going. "I can give you money, not a loan or a IOU, give it to you. I can teach you about how to run a business and handle the music industry."
"I understand, but what's the catch? What do you want me to do?" I asked him and he tapped his fingers on the desk.
"Ever heard of a little thing called, a sugar daddy?" He asked me and I was more than just suprised.
"A sugar daddy?" I asked and he nodded. I was opposed to the idea, but I wasn't exactly with the idea.
He motioned for me to stand up and I did, straightening my dress out. His fingertips lightly touched my jaw and he pulled me close
"And don't think you don't enjoy calling me daddy. We both remember that." He said quietly and I blushed heavily. "Trust me, it could be beneficial to the both of us."
"I remember..." I said quietly and he chuckled lowly. He kissed along my jaw and smiled against my skin, his lips beside my ear.
"I'll buy you anything you want, under one condition." He told me and I nodded, wanting to hear it so I knew my suspicions were correct.
I wasn't too familiar with the sugar daddy concept, but I did know some things about it.
"That is?" I pressed and he hummed, his hands wrapping around my waist and his fingers curling into my skin slightly.
"You assist me around the world as my girlfriend to the public eye, but daddy's dirty girl when it's just you and I. Have we got a deal?" He asked me and I thought about the pros and the cons of his offer.
"Anything I want?"
"Anything your little heart desires." He told me and I nodded, shocking the both of us by my quick desicion.
"Deal." I said and he smiled as he looked at me. "What did you mean when you said that I'd assist you around the world?" I asked him and he chuckled.
"Monica, I'm a musician. I have to do tours, and this so happens to be a world tour." He said and I nodded. "I mean you'd come on tour with me."
"The irony." I mumbled and he hummed. "Nothing, but around the world?" I asked and he nodded.
"Is that alright?"
"Fine, I love travelling." I said and he nodded, telling me that I better get used to moving city to city then.
-
"Dude, you got the job?" Kiara asked and I nodded. "I'm happy for you Moni!" She said and gave me a hug.
"Thank you KiKi! I actually almost screamed when he told me." I said and she smiled. "He needs me to go on tour with him, and it starts in a week or two."
"Looks like we're both going to be on the road." She said and laughed. "Do we even still need an apartment? We'll be in a bus for like nine months straight."
"Yeah, just send money to our landlord." I said and she nodded. "We should celebrate." I told her.
"Cheap beer, pizza, ice cream cake, and old comedy movies?" She asked me and I gave her a highfive.
"Bitch of course." I said and she laughed as she pulled her phone out, calling Jonah to come over with pizza. "We need to pack soon."
"Soon, not now." She said and I nodded as I pulled out a handful of movies from the entertainment center. I set them on the coffee table and then sat on the couch.
"I can't believe this is how our lives are turning out. You're working for Shawn Mendes, and my boss is none other than Taylor Swift herself." She told me when she hung her phone up and I agreed.
"I'm nervous, what if I mess up?" I asked, trying to make this seem extra believable. "I've never done this."
"It's just like giving him stuff and fixing things for him, nothing big. It's okay." She said and I nodded as she held my hand. "What if I make a small mistake on Taylor's makeup and she hates me? Or what if she hates my style?"
"I doubt that will happen, you're absolutely flawless with your styling. It's so beautiful." I said and she thanked me as she leaned her head on my shoulder.
"Never did I think my life would end up at this point." She said and I agreed.
I pictured myself doing something successful, high paying and something that just screams that I'm a force not to be reckoned with. I didn't picture myself having someone buy me everything, in return for sex and maybe someone to keep them company.
"Okay, but tell me why Jonah refuses to buy us pizza? Like we celebrate all of our life accomplishments with pizza, ice cream cake, and cheap ass beer, he knows this!" She said and I laughed.
"We can go out and get it right now?" I said and she groaned, telling me she didn't want to her dressed. "You are dressed, just go put on some sandals and we can go get the stuff before he comes over."
"Fine, only because today is a great day." She said and I nodded as she jumped up, trying to find her sandals.
The key word was trying, cause she was turning this apartment upside down just to find them. It only took seven centuries before she got ahold of them. Where were they? Under her bed.
Wow.
