Hybrid
A series of snaps shot through the air, a yelp, and the lights flashing on. "Ohh! Oh, come on! Seriously?!" Caroline huffed, throwing her hands up, "Do you know how long it took us to set all this up?!"
"Forgot about senior prank night, huh?" Tyler mused, chuckling as he inspected his younger twin's bleeding finger.
"Clearly." Matt, the one who ruined the prank, replied blandly, which sent Caroline on another tangent, the elder Lockwood bandaged the younger's finger, then kissed it, which made the hazel haired girl laugh.
Her laugh is a sweet, gentle sound that made both guys and girl's hearts flutter.
"Anyways, you're all lame. And PJ and I have about ten more classrooms to prank." Tyler said, gently tugging his twin out of the room.
"Faculty toilets or gym?" the elder asked, glancing at Paisley, who hummed for a minute, "Gym, I wanna make a cup castle." she chirped, he laughed, "Alright, go ahead." she nodded and kissed his cheek before excitedly running off. "Love you, sis!" he called after, "Love you too, Ty-Ty!" she yelled back.
Her long hazel curls bounced as she burst through a set of double doors, only to run into someone.
She quickly backed up, "I-I'm so sorry!" she squeaked, looking up to meet the person's eyes, blue-green hues stared down into her golden-brown ones. "It's quite alright miss..." he trailed, a slight smirk tugging at his lips, she fidgeted, "Paisley Lockwood. You are?"
"Klaus!"
The hazel haired girl jumped at the loud voice, she looked towards the source, meeting Elena's hard gaze.
The doppelganger tries to run, but the man quickly put a stop to that, "You are supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?"
*************
The man, who Paisley now knows as Klaus, held tightly onto both her and Elena as he dragged us down the halls.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" Elena hissed, "Not until I know I'm right." Klaus mused, "But I do have ways of making you suffer."
Klaus pulled both teenage girls into the gym. "Attention, seniors." Paisley giggled at his faux American accent, which he smirked at whilst Elena shot her a glare, "You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home."
Everyone groaned and trudged out of the gym.
The hybrid spotted two students he recognized from his time possessing Alaric, and pulled Elena and Paisley to them.
"You two. I remember you." he mused, Dana, a girl in Elena and Paisley's history class, spoke up, "I'm sorry. Who are you?"
"Oh, don't worry. I wasn't in my right head last time we met." Klaus chuckled at his own joke, "Lift your foot up, please, Dana."
"If she drops her foot, Chad, I want you to beat her to death. Understood?" Elena and Paisley's eyes widen as he nods.
"Don't, Klaus. You don't have to hurt anybody." Elena exasperated, he smirked at the doppelganger, unable to bring himself to look at the heart-wrenching look of fear on Paisley's freckled face.
"Oh, come on, love. Of course I do."
*************
The doors to the gym opened, the loud sound startling the small Lockwood.
"Bonnie, get out of here!" Elena screamed at her best friend, but Klaus wasn't having it. He stopped Bonnie and Matt in their tracks, "Ah.. I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started." the hybrid smirked.
"Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight." he continued, looking towards the compelled teens before looking back to the witch, "I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?"
"That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me." the Bennett spat, Klaus chuckled, "Now, there's no need for blame, love."
Paisley jumped as the hybrid reappeared beside her, "Just your witchy interference seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you caused the problem, I'm going to have you be the fix."
"Get off me!" she instantly turned at the sound of her twin's voice.
"Ty!" the hazel haired girl yelled, Klaus grasped her slender wrist, holding her back as the blonde woman holding her brother grew closer.
"I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning... she can be quite mean." Klaus chuckled, earning a scoff and glare from the blonde, "Don't be an ass." she hissed, shoving the eldest Lockwood forwards.
"Leave him/them alone!" Elena and Matt screamed, yet went unheard as the Hybrid Original looked to the witch.
"I'm going to make this very simple... Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid they die during transition." he stated, "It's quite horrible actually."
He bites his wrist and forces the open wound to Paisley's mouth, making sure she drank enough before doing the same to her twin.
"Nik!" the blonde exclaimed, her baby blues wide upon witnessing him force-feed Paisley his blood. However, she was ignored.
"I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler and Sweet Paisley's sake... You better hurry."
That was the last thing Paisley heard before Klaus snapped the Lockwood twins' necks.
*************
The Lockwood twins woke with a gasp, Tyler instantly pulled his twin close to him, firing questions at Rebekah and Caroline.
"Don't be shy about it." Rebekah mocked Caroline, who sighed, "Klaus is turning you both into a vampire. A hybrid. You're in transition."
"Don't leave out the hard part, sweets." Rebekah chimed, taunting the younger vampire to ease her own nerves, "You'll only survive if you're little witch is successful. If not... You're pretty much dead."
Paisley clung to her twin tightly, nuzzling his chest.
She was having a slight panic attack, which Tyler and Rebekah picked up on instantly, he sat back and pulled the hazel haired girl onto his lap, holding her tightly like he always did in these situations.
The blonde Original's heart twisted painfully at the girl's whimpers.
"Well, the verdicts in." Klaus announced upon arrival, "The original witch says the doppelganger should be dead."
"Does that mean we can kill her?!" Rebekah beamed, wanting the little Lockwood to survive desperately, Tyler growled as the hybrid crouched down in front of him and Paisley.
"No. I'm fairly certain it means the opposite." he mused, "What?!" Rebekah gapes, but quickly restrained Caroline as the baby vampire had tried to stop her brother.
"Call it a hunch." Klaus mused, holding out two test tubes to the twins.
The younger raised her head once she felt the older's arms loosen up. She stiffened at an intoxicatingly sweet scent. "Elena's blood. Drink it." Klaus ordered with a smirk.
"No! No, no, no, Tyler.. PJ don't!" Caroline exclaimed, thrashing in Rebekah's steely grip. "If they don't feed, they'll die, love. It's okay." the hybrid spoke.
His blue-green eyes gleamed as he watched the twins hesitantly take a vial each. He kept his gaze on the hazel haired girl as she screwed her honey-brown eyes closed and downed the blood, her brother following suit.
"There we go." Klaus hummed, standing to his full height.
Paisley cried out in agony, both Original's flinching. It was as if her body was on fire, it was worse than the full moon. A sharp scream tore through her throat, making everyone in the room cover their ears in pain.
Her golden brown eyes flashed a striking red, which glowed against the black that obscured her sclera.
Moments later Tyler threw his head up, his eyes the same as Klaus'.
"Well, that's a good sign."
