Yoongi made a waving motion to Namjoon and Hoseok as he left the studio. He couldn't wait to curl up on his bed beside his small puppy Holly and sleep the entire weekend away. Walking home was quiet. Being that it was about three in the morning he wasn't surprised. He let out a sigh of relief when his apartment came into view.  Hopping up the steps to the third floor where his door stood he practically shoved the key into the keyhole. It wasn't much but it was home. Placing the keys into a bowl beside the door he shuffled towards the couch sinking into the cushions. Taking off his old and worn converse he wiggled his toes. A happy bark made a smile grace his lips. A small dog with brown curly fur ran towards him. He licked up the small ball of fluff, “Did you miss me Holly? I missed you too.” Holly barked again in response before deciding to lick his owner. Yoongi laughed letting the dog have his moment. Once he calmed Yoongi laid back letting Holly cuddle into his side. Together they fell asleep curled up on the couch.
The Sunday afternoon he was woken by barking (And yes he slept an entire day). Leave it to his own dog to wake him from a nice sleep. Than again he couldn't blame Holly. One reason because he would give him those puppy eyes that melted his insides and two because he needed to be fed and taken for a walk. Deciding there was no time like the present he filled his bowls with dog food and water. While Holly was eating he took a shower. Putting on his usual black jeans, a hoodie and his converse. Skipping breakfast he took Holly's leash from the hook it was always kept. Holly after filling his stomach now sat by the door waiting for Yoongi. Making sure the lead was on properly he opened the door and off they went. Arriving at the park he let Holly off the leash free to wander around bt with a close eye on the small dog. The park was full of pet owners and hybrids too. Hybrids were common nowadays. It was only recently they began to reveal themselves. Mainly because now there was laws for them. Before that people used and tortured them. Mentally, physically and sexually. People spoke out against it and so hybrids were given rights and protection. Yoongi was happy for them. After all they were still part human. No one was certain how hybrids came to be. Nor were they certain what caused them to transform. They could go from being your pet dog to a hybrid in a second. Once transformed they stayed like that, half animal half human. The defining features being ears, the rare time a tail. Yoongi had been cautious at first with Holly. He wasn't against hybrids but taking care of a dog was much easier than taking care of another person, in his opinion anyway. Add in the fact he wasn't all that great with other people. With Holly he spent most of his time in silence. Speaking of which too deep in thought he hadn't realised he had taken his gaze off the small dog. Looking around he couldn't see him. He tried not to panic searching in close areas calling his name. When he still couldn't find him he felt his breathing quicken. A tap on his shoulder made him spin around. Maybe someone had found him. However all he could see was a young boy. The boy stood awkwardly, slightly taller than Yoongi. His brown eyes wide and sparkling in the light. He had on a red t-shirt and black shorts. Yoongi almost scoffed at the no shoes. He didn't have time for idle chitchat. He would apologise for snapping another time, “What?” The boy flinched shrinking at his harsh response. His voice sounded soft and small, “W-Well you see Y-Yoongi I -” Yoongi froze up not hearing the rest, “How the fuck do you know my name?” It was when he looked closer did he realise, “Oh hell no!” The boy had brown curly hair, like really fluffy hair. It was what was amongst the hair that caused his reaction. Ears, dog ears. Not only that but the red collar around his neck with Holly engraved into it was a massive giveaway. After he had literally been thinking about it this happens.
Yoongi groaned, “You're my Holly aren't you? Holly was small turning two soon but you, you're a teenager.” The boy looked down shyly, “In human years I am nineteen. I don't really know. Hybrids age differently. Before you took me in I was known as Jungkook. The human part of me kept the name. B-But Holly is okay too. I'm used to that name.” Yoongi ran his hand across his face, “Look Holly uh Kook, for now let's go home. I'll call my friend Hoseok. He has a hybrid Taehyung. He knows all the laws and rights and whatnot. Also find you shoes. Come on.” Jungkook followed behind him quietly. Inside the apartment he sat on the couch as Yoongi made the call to Hoseok. When he returned he let out a sigh, “Uh well he's on his way. You know Hoseok don't you?” Jungkook nodded. He recalled the man was always smiling and they were nice smiles. Happy smiles. He also recalled he would bring cookies with him sneaking some to him, before Yoongi would scold him about them not being good for him. After minutes ticked by a knock on the door made Yoongi shoot up swinging it open, “Hobi, Tae welcome.” Jungkook knew Taehyung from dog play dates set up by Hoseok. Taehyung being the only other who knew his actual name. Taehyung bounced in leaping onto the younger boy, “Kookie! You're a hybrid too? I have a friend.” Jungkook giggled at his reaction. At least one person was happy to see him like this. Yoongi began talking to Hoseok in hushed voices. Jungkook watching his expressions. He looked distressed. It worried Jungkook. Taehyung nudged him, “Don't worry. Hyung is just nervous. He's not good with people but he won't throw you out either. He cares about you, dog or not.” Jungkook nodded at Taehyung still unsure if what he said would be true. Taehyung put an arm around the newly transformed hybrid, “I know it's scary and new. Getting used to having only two legs, being able to actually talk with your owner. Wondering if they'd still want you now that you're no longer an actual dog. I was terrified. Hobi hyung made me feel weird things but not once did he make me feel alone. I feel safe with him. Give it time, both of you will be surprised how easy it is.” Jungkook thanked his friend. Hoseok entered grinning at the two, “So Holly was a hybrid all this time. I'm happy the both of you are friends. It might make things more comfortable. So I know you're name is also Jungkook. Which one would you prefer to be known as?” Jungkook thought about it for a moment. Jungkook was the first name that he could remember but Holly was a special name because Yoongi gave it to him. He smiled shyly, “Whichever name Yoongi would prefer for me to be known as.” Yoongi appeared behind Hoseok a frown still on his face, “How about for now we know you as Hollykook. That way I can slowly remind myself not to call you Holly but also so I won't accidentally call you the wrong name. You keep your original name and the name I know you by.” Jungkook nodded. He liked that idea. He gets to keep both names, both being a important part of him. Hoseok pull out a packet, “Do you still like cookies?” At scent of warmly baked cookies his stomach growled. His cheeks flushed. Hoseok laughed, “Taehyung and I have to go now. I'll leave the cookies with you and Yoongi as you two talk. I'll call again during the week. Goodbye Hollykook.” He ruffled Jungkook's hair before leaving, Taehyung giving him a hug. Once they left he was again alone with Yoongi. Yoongi sat beside him, “I'm sorry. I know I'm not exactly being welcoming. It's just, I'm not good with people. It's why I have, had a dog. So I wouldn't be entirely alone but also wouldn't need to deal with others. People make me anxious. That doesn't mean I will let you sleep on the street either. You're still my Holly. You're just a human version. It'll take time but we'll work it out. Now it's getting late. Hoseok and I talked longer than I thought. We'll go to sleep and tomorrow we'll talk more. I have work so it'll be late when I return.” Jungkook nodded. Yoongi brought him to the spare room, “You can decorate it how you want. It's your room now. Food is in the fridge. Tomorrow at lunch I'll buy some clothes for you. Goodnight …. Jungkook.” He closed the door leaving Jungkook alone whispering a soft goodnight in response. He doubted Yoongi even heard him.

The next day Yoongi woke to his usual blaring alarm. He really needed to change it. Going about his usual routine he showered, brushed his teeth and ate a slice of toast. The only change being there was no small brown ball of fluff to see him off. He guessed Jungkook found it more comfortable to give him space. The entire day was spent drowning in work. Being a producer he achieved his goal, his dream but it was hard work. They had gotten in new trainees and well he was in charge of songwriting. The boys were good, had talent but he knew they needed a push if they wanted to be great. As he had said he bought simple clothes for the hybrid at lunch. A few t-shirts, tracksuits and hoodies. He bought a pair of shoes that looked as though they would fit. All clothes a size large just in case. He made a mental note to bring the hybrid shopping during the week for clothes that would actually fit. He threw in a packet of underwear and socks. Once back at the studio he focused on making music once again. Time flew by and it wasn't long before he deemed it time to return home. Making sure everything was saved he shut off the computer and began his usual walk home, this time two shopping bags by his side. Reaching his apartment he entered quietly presuming the younger would be asleep. However he got a surprise when the hybrid ran up to him hugging him, “You're home. Welcome home Yoongi.” Yoongi froze in his arms. Jungkook pulled back now a tinge of pink blooming on his cheeks. He bowed, “S-Sorry I guess I'm so used to greeting you when you return that I forgot that I'm now um human.” Yoongi shook his head, “It's uh okay. No worries.” He held out the bags to him, “Here I got you some clothes. We'll have to go shopping next weekend for clothes that actually fit. I'm working this weekend.” Jungkook grinned, “Really? Thank you Yoongi!” He recognised the sparkle in the boy's eyes as excitement. It was the exact sparkle he would get when he had been in dog form and they would go for a walk. He couldn't help the soft smile that graced his lips. Yoongi took a deep breath before reaching out and ruffling Jungkook's hair, “Now I think we should both get sleep. It's late.” He hurried to his room and shut the door. It was weird, the feeling he had gotten in his chest. Letting out a breath he flopped onto his bed falling asleep. It was as he drifted to sleep he realised the name Jungkook was growing on him and suited the younger.

For Jungkook the two weeks dragged on more than usual. He knew it was because he spent most of his day waiting for Yoongi to return. After the moment they had on Monday Yoongi had made it a routine of sorts. He'd return home and ruffle his hair. Jungkook loved the feeling. On the Wednesday both were wide awake and decided to watch a movie. Iron Man. Jungkook had seen the movie being played on the screen before when he had been a dog but it was much better seeing it as a human. He had found his favourite movie and movie character. While they sat it had been almost instinct when Yoongi began to run his fingers through Jungkook's hair being that Jungkook's head was in Yoongi's lap. When they both realised it was awkward for a few moments until Jungkook had hesitantly stated he liked the feeling. Yoongi had nodded and continued but kept his gaze on the television. Each night he ensured that he greeted the older both in the morning (excluding Monday) and when he returned home. When Friday came he was excited. It was the day ge would spend at Hoseok's with Taehyung. Yoongi had mentioned that he would still be going over. He would collect him after work and they could get something to eat together. At Hoseok's things were a lot different. Taehyung showing him how to use technology and the joys of food such as pizza and ice-cream. They then went into the back garden and on the trampoline. It was weird and took some time for him to get the hang of it but he did. It was fun and by the time Yoongi came to get him he was out of energy. Yoongi looked at his tired form, “I'm afraid to ask what you have been doing all day that makes him look this tired. Are you still up to eating out?” Jungkook nodded. He had made sure he would have enough energy to go with Yoongi. He had been waiting for this all week. Yoongi chuckled, “Alright then let's go.” Jungkook hopped up followimg behind the older, not forgetting to thank and wave goodbye to Hoseok and Taehyung. Taehyung had dramatically sighed, “Until next week Kookie.” Jungkook giggled, “Bye Tae Tae.” Yoongi watches the interaction not at all liking the bad feeling he got when he did. Jungkook however took no notice smiling at him, “How was work hyung?” Yoongi blinked back at him. Jungkook giggled, “Hobi hyung explained how honorifics work.” Yoongi made an ‘aha’ sound. As usual he ruffled the hybrids hair, “Work was tiring as usual but good. So I don't know if you'll like them. If not we can go somewhere else but there's a small lamb skewer shop I'd like to take you.” Jungkook followed eagerly behind him. When they entered he smiled, “It smells nice hyung.” Yoongi ordered for them both getting a large portion for them to share and two drinks. They sat in silence waiting for the food. When it arrived Yoongi waited to see Jungkook's reaction to the taste. As he bit into the piece of lamb he chewed before placing the skewer back on the plate. Swallowing he looked up at Yoongi eyes wide. A smile lit up his face, “These are really good hyung. Thank you for taking me here.” Yoongi couldn't help but smile back, “You're welcome. How was your day?” As he was told of everything Taehyung showed him Yoongi never once stopped smiling. When the returned home and in their separate beds it was when he came to the conclusion that maybe sharing a home with another person wasn't so bad. He sighed,“This kid is making me soft.”

The following morning he was awoken by Hoseok's voice in his kitchen. Times like this he regretted giving him a spare key. He followed the said voice until he saw him in a discussion with both Taehyung and Jungkook. It seemed the two disagreed with whatever he was saying. Hoseok pouted, “Oh come on! Captain America is totally better and cooler than Iron Man.” Taehyung shook his head, “I have to agree with Kookie on this one hyung.” Jungkook grinned proudly. Hoseok pretend to sigh sadly, “Alright then explain your reasons.” Jungkook nodded, “Firstly he's a billionaire. He could buy all the food he wants without fail. Second he's intelligent, extremely. He uses technology that can talk back. Computers without keyboards and whatnot and can gear up with a simple word of instruction. He also donates money to good causes. What does captain america do? Lift a shield because he was injected with the ability to do so.” Hoseok huffed. Taehyung giggled. Hoseok pouted again, “Oh I see how it is Taehyung. You don't love me anymore.” Taehyung jumped at the older wrapping his arms around his neck, “No Taehyung loves you but just because I do doesn't mean you're right.” He pressed a kiss directly onto Hoseok's lips shocking both Yoongi and Jungkook. Realising they weren't alone they both looked up smiling sheepishly. Well Hoseok, Taehyung hiding his face in Hoseok's neck. Hoseok smiled, “We were going to tell you today. We're a couple. After spending so much time together we fell in love. Also we're coming shopping with you. I need to get Tae new clothes too.” Yoongi just nodded and they got into Hoseok's car. Taehyung and Jungkook in their own world in the back while Hoseok and Yoongi sat in silence. Reaching the shopping centre they allowed Taehyung and Jungkook to take a look around but to stay together. Once they were out of earshot Hoseok faced Yoongi, “You're not mad are you?” Yoongi's gaze softened, “Hobi why would I be mad? Because you found love? No. I'm just surprised is all. I'm happy for you. Both of you.” Hoseok smiled, “Thanks hyung. Enough about that. What about you and Jungkook? How are things going?” Yoongi smiled back, “It's weird you know. He somehow fitted in so easily and so quickly into my life. Now I can't imagine not coming home to him. It's weird. I have no idea what I'm doing yet it seems like whatever it is it's working.” Hoseok nodded in understanding, “You love him. I don't if it's a brother or friend way or if its a falling in love way but you do. And Jungkook. He worships the ground you walk on. Because you gave him a chance, a home and that's all someone could hope for.” Yoongi frowned. He understood the loving him in a friend way but there was no way he was falling in love. There couldn't. He had only gotten to know the younger. It had only been two weeks since he transformed.
After they had spent the day in different shops, mostly Hoseok's doing they met the younger two. Taehyung had made sure the younger had picked out at least four outfits. There was also a pair of converse and timberlands in his size. Jungkook looked at him shyly, “Taehyung helped me picked them out. If it's too expensive I can put them back.” Yoongi put a hand on his shoulder, “No need. I have enough money. Now come I'll pay and then we'll get something to eat. Hoseok walked my feet off.” Jungkook giggled nodding in understanding, “Yeah Taehyung went into almost every shop but it was fun.” That night the two spent it on the couch relaxing and watching movies. Well Jungkook did anyway. Yoongi however watched Jungkook. Noticing when he would genuinely laugh his nose would scrunch and eyes light up. He almost resembled a rabbit if that was even possible. They had both showered once home which resulted in the hybrids hair being more fluffy than ever. His ears twitching every now and again. He thought back to what Hoseok had said. What would happen if he was falling? What would Jungkook think? All of a sudden Jungkook was right in front of him, “Hyung! Are you okay? You're cheeks are really red. Are you sick?” He placed his hands on Yoongi's face. Yoongi could feel the softness and warmth from them. He cursed himself for stuttering, “N-No I'm fine.” Jungkook looked up and they were so close. He blinked back not moving from where he sat. Yoongi saw the blush on his cheeks. Was it possible. Jungkook looked away, “O-Okay. Well g-goodnight hyung!” He fled the room. Yoongi guessed that was his answer. No. Jungkook didn't feel the same. So he would hide how he felt, after all it was what he was good at.

The following day things were awkward. Jungkook did everything possible to avoid the older. It didn't go unnoticed by Yoongi. He had in return tried to gain the younger's attention. He succeeded finally when it got close to night time. Cornering him in the hallway, “Jungkook!” Jungkook's eyes widened scanning around him for an escape. Yoongi put an arm beside his head to stop him, "Why are you avoiding me Kookie?" Jungkook looked up and he looked so unsure. He placed his hands on Yoongi's chest the shirt clenched between it, "H-Hyung? I'm not avoiding y-you!" His reply was rushed and sounded like he was trying to convince himself. Yoongi leaned closer, "Are you sure? I'd like to know why? Did I do something?" Jungkook let out a squeak when he moved closer avoiding eye contact, "Please hyung, please don't make me say it." Yoongi frowned, "Say what exactly?" Jungkook finally looked up but he had tears in his eyes, "I can't stay with you anymore hyung!" Jungkook went tonduck but Yoongi pulled him back, "Why? Why do you have to leave? You can't just appear in my life and make me care and disappear again. So why?" Jungkook let a sob escape, "It hurts too much hyung. It hurts being around you knowing you'll never feel the same. I did something hyung." Yoongnwas getting anxious and desperate, "Tell me. What did you do that could make you have to leave?" Jungkook sounded heartbroken, "I fell in love with you hyung." Yoongi let out a chuckle, "You fell - that's why last night you left so quickly. I thought yku didn't feel the same." He reached one hand up wiping away the tears, "I think we need to work on communication. I fell in love with you too Jungkook. The small things about you. It's crazy how you've been by my side for two years in dog form right there. Now in human form it two weeks to fall in love with who you are. So I beg you do not leave. I just found you." Jungkook hiccuped, "Y-You do?" Yoongi nodded, "I do. Jungkook, can I kiss you?" A blush formed on the younger's cheeks as he nodded enthusiastically. Yoongi chuckled, "What was that? I didn't hear you!" Jungkook whined pouting looking cute as always. Huffing he looked up at Yoongi, "Hyung please kiss me!" Yoongi smiled and answered by leaning in and pressing their lips together.
