Third person POV
Midnight woke up groggily in her guest room, hissing at the early dawn light bouncing off the crystals into her eyes. "The light! It burns! Why.." she groaned, trying to go back to sleep. Sadly, she was interrupted by a knock on the door. "GO AWAY!" Velvet yelled, but the door still opened to show Spike holding a tray of hay waffles and orange juice.
"Morning Midnight, I made some breakfast for you. By the way, Twilight wants you in the main library in 30 if you can." He said, placing the tray on the dresser and walking out casually.
"Ugh..." the unicorn muttered, taking a bite of the waffle. "This is pretty good though.."

[Timeskip to 30 minutes later]

Misery seemed to crash down onto Midnight Velvet as she trotted into the main library.
It was a rainbow-y crystalline room as large as the Canterlot Castle ballroom. Every side of the massive walls was covered with bookshelves from the past, a skylight dome allowing the sunlight to filter into the room. In the middle of the library was a wide, ebony oak table and chairs that had small piles of books, quills, inkstashes, and two cups of cocoa.
It made the periwinkle unicorn want to shrivel up into a corner.
Twilight was already seated in one of the black cushioned chairs, and her eyes lit up once she saw Midnight walk in.
"Midnight! Nice to see you up, how did you sleep?" the lavender alicorn asked, inviting her former enemy into the seat next to her. Midnight plopped in the seat and gasped inwardly.
'Oh no...I LIKE THE CHAIRS! I CAN FEEL IT PULLING ME DEEPER INTO THIS WORLD OF EGGHEADS. NOOOOOOOOO-' she thought before shaking her head to clear away the thoughts of becoming a...a nerd. Twilight, oblivious to the predicament the light blue unicorn was suffering with, levitated some books off of the sparkling bookshelves with her magic and placed them on the oak table. Midnight could see titles such as: "The History of Starswirl the Bearded", "How to Become a Necromancy Master 102"and, "Magic and It's Stages of Evolving" along with other similar books. Midnight gulped.

"Okay so today, we'll go test your skill level in magical defense and combat, along with your knowledge in magic and it's origins!" Twilight squeed. "Isn't this fun?!"

The unicorn shuddered silently. "Yeah...fun." she said.
