I got my nice clothes on with a smile. Today was the day naruto would finally become hokage and my husband shikamaru would become his royal advisor. I'm so happy for him and now we're going to the ceremony to celebrate.

"hey you look good kid" shikamaru wrapped his arms around me.

"thank you love" I kissed his cheek "I'm so proud of you. You and naruto are going to do great things!"

"couldn't have done it without your support" he smiled at me.

I looked into the living room where my girls were playing in their new dresses.

"girls make sure you keep those dresses clean" I said firmly "your daddy has a big day today"

"ok mommy" they said brightly.

"Well I must be going now. Goodbye love" he gave me one final kiss before leaving.

Suddenly hinata came through the door "oh neji I'm so happy for you" she pulled me into a hug "it's so wonderful that shikamarus got the job of royal advisor. He's definitely bright enough to make a real difference"

"thanks hinata" I smiled at her "how's are you and sakura doing?"

"great!" she smiled brightly "she's already down there. I thought I'd help you take the girls down. I imagine it will be difficult for you to take care of two little girls on your own"

"aww that's so sweet hinata but my girls are little angels. I don't really need help-"

I was cut off by a thud in the living room. We ran in to find the girls tugging on kimaris favourite stuffed toy.

"let go sasiko" kimari yelled.

"no!" sasiko yelled back "kimari you can't take that stupid stuffed toy with you. You're going to embarrass us!"

"bobos not stupid you take that back!"

"girls stop fighting this instant!" I yelled "do not make me come in there!"

"but mom she's being impossible!" sasiko tried to reason with me.

"stop pulling" kimari protested "it's going to-"

*riiiip*

The toy ripped in half. The body in kimaris hands and the head in sasikos.

Sasiko dropped the bears head in disbelief "oh no. Kimari I'm-"

"you big dumb jerk!" kimari yelled with tears in her eyes. To my surprise she had activated her Byakugun! "now I'm going to take your head off too!"

She charged at her sister, her gentle fist ready. I quickly grabbed her before any harm could come to my oldest.

"kimari I know you're upset but you should never raise a hand to your sister!" I scolded her.

"waaaa!" she burst into tears. I gently rocked her in my arms. That stuffed bear was her favourite. I don't know what we're going to do.

"it's ok sweetie" hinata said gently "I can stitch up bobo and make him all better"

"really" she looked up at her with teary eyes, her Byakugun had disappeared.

"really" she nodded.

"thank you auntie hinata" she pulled her into a hug.

I sighed. This is going to be hard to explain to shikamaru!

*time skip*

"kimari activated her Byakugun. are you serious!" naruto muttered in disbelief.

"I know" hinata muttered as she stitched bobos head back on "I was surprised too. There's never been a hyuga that's activated their Byakugun at only three years old"

"my little girls something else" shikamaru said proudly.

"sorry we were late for the speech shikamaru" I muttered softly.

"it's fine darling. It sounds like you had a hell of a day" he kissed my cheek.

"I sure did" I chuckled "I best check on the girls. I'll be back soon" I got up and walked into the living room.

I found kimari asleep on the couch with sasiko looking over her.

"I was so embarrassed when I heard she wanted to carry that bear around. I wasn't thinking about how kimari felt" she looked up at me with tears in her eyes "I've made a big mistake!"

"yes you did but that doesn't mean you're a bad sister" I scooped her up in my arms "you've always been a good big sister and I know you'll make it up to her"

"I will" she mumbled as she nuzzled against my shoulder.

I let out a sigh. Today sure was a crazy day. I guess that's what's expected in parenthood!
