Nejis pov

"shikamaru!" I ran down the hallway calling his name. Sakuras right. I can't do this alone. I have to tell him. No matter what his reaction is.

Shikamaru turned to me with a smile "neji there you are. Just in time! I have a surprise for you" he dragged me away before I had a chance to say anything.

He sat me down at the table and sat opposite me. The table had fancy food on it and a single candle was lit.

"tada!" he grinned "I got a fancy dinner date set up for us. Figured it could be my way of apologising"

"oh shika you don't have to apologise" I smiled at him "though I do appreciate the meal. I've always wanted to have a romantic dinner date"

"yeah that sounds like something you'd enjoy" shikamaru muttered.

"hey what's that supposed to mean" I pouted.

"nothing cutie" he booped me on the nose "now let's enjoy our meal"

*time skip*

I let out a sigh as I leaned back. Man I'm stuffed! That meal was delicious. It was really nice of shikamaru to go through so much trouble for me. Everything felt so perfect. That is until he tried to pour me a glass of wine.

"oh I'm sorry shikamaru I can't drink this"

"why not?" he asked looking confused.

I took a deep breath. I guess I have to come out with it "I can't drink cause I'm pregnant"

He froze. I bit my lip. This doesn't look good.

"when did you find out?" he asked.

"just a couple of hours ago" I muttered nervously "I was worried about the whole unprotected sex thing so I ask sakura for a test"

"I see" he stood up. I squeezed my eyes shut, afraid of the rejection but instead he pulled me into a hug "this whole thing very unexpected but I'll do my best to support you and the baby"

"thank you" I breathed a sigh of relief. That was easier than expected-

"nejis pregnant!?" we looked up to see Lee and sasukes shocked faces.

I smiled nervously. I didn't expect anyone to find out so soon. This is going to be awkward to explain!
