Three years later

"get over here you little rascals!" my husband shikamaru yelled as he chased after our three and four year old daughters. It's their bedtime and the girls aren't feeling sleepy to say the least!

I walked into the living room to find shikamaru holding the giggling girls under his arms. My girls had gotten so big so fast. With sasiko growing out her hair past her shoulders and kimari having shoulder length hair and large hyuga eyes like mine.

"alright you two. To bed we go" shikamaru carried the girls to their bedroom. I followed them up to watch.

Shikamaru lay the girls down on their bed but they immediately got up and jumped on their fathers back.

"tell us a story papa" sasiko begged.

"yeah story story!" kimari jumped about excitedly.

"alright fine but you both have to get settled down into bed" the girls nodded and cuddled under the covers.

He took a deep breath "once apon a time there was a prince who lived a very sad life. He was mistreated by everyone he knew and feared he'd never know true happiness. Then one fateful day a young theif broke into the prince home, hoping to steal some valuables. The two met and instantly fell in love. The Prince taught the theif how to be a better person and the theif taught the prince how to open his heart up to people again. Eventually they got married and had two beautiful princesses of their own. The end"

He looked down to see that the girls had fallen asleep. He gently kissed their foreheads and was about to leave when he noticed me standing in the doorway.

I smirked at him "that story was about us wasn't it"

"Well I do like to take inspiration from real life events" he gave me a quick kiss "now shall we get to bed my love?"

"sounds good" I smiled at him "let's go"

And so he picked me up and carried me to bed. I smiled blissfully as I wrapped my arms around his neck. Me and the girls sure are lucky to have him!
