Throw Her in the Time Vortex
*The Doctors POV*
I watched as Rose ran outside to her father, "Doctor!" I turned around and saw Justin in the doorway of the room Alex was in. I ran to the room, seeing Alex's body had reappeared. "She still doesn't have a pulse, but her body's back." Justin nodded to me. I picked Alex up and ran out the doors, Justin following close behind.
I hurried into the Tardis, placing Alex gently on the floor. I put Alex's head in my lap as Justin ran over with medical tools.
"She's got a pulse!" I exclaimed, still holding Alex's head in my lap. "Alex? Alex, sweetheart, can you hear us?"
"Alex?" Justin was slapping her face slightly, to try and wake her up.
Rose burst through the Tardis doors and ran over to us. "Alex, please wake up." Rose sat down next to Alex's body, but Justin moved Alex closer to us, away from Rose.
"I think you've done enough, Rose. We've got it from here." Justin shooed her away. I swear if Justin and Rose makes the Tardis a domestic place I'm going to chuck em both into a black hole.
"I'm sorry, Justin." Rose gave him a sad look, "I know I screwed up, but she's my friend too." Well... You're certainly not mine right now. Thanks for only using me for the Tardis, Rose.
"A real friend wouldn't have caused this." Justin glared at her. Well I guess they're not a thing anymore. I kissed Alex's forehead, rubbing my thumb along her cheeks.
"I am a real friend, Justin! I'm sorry that I don't know everything about Alex and time. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. You said you hated Alex. Why are you being so protective over someone you hate?" Justin said that about Alex? I stared at him with my mouth open. Wow.
Justin snapped his head in Rose's direction, "when did I ever say I hated Alex?"
"What?" Rose shook her head at him. Rose. You brought it up. Finish whatever it is you're on about. Pretty interesting since Justin seems pretty scared for Alex right now, but Rose is claiming he hates her.
"When did I say I hated Alex?" Justin's voice started to rise.
"Well you didn't, you implied"- Rose began to say, but Justin cut her off.
"No, Rose. I don't hate Alex. Never have, never could, never will." Justin glared at her. Should I say something to them? Cause now really isn't the time for this argument. "She's my little sister, who's not doing so well, thanks to you, of course I'm going to be protective over her." He bit his lip, "just go to your room or something, Rose."
"No. I'm helping. I'm worried about Alex, Justin." Rose shook her head at Justin.
Justin tilted his head at her, "Rose, you are aware that Mason is a werewolf right?"
"Yeah?" Rose shook her head at him not understanding. I don't even understand where he's going with this. Why the hell did he bring up Mason? I hate that guy.
"Well, when Mason told Juliet he loved her, Mason and I got into a fight," Justin put his hand on her wrist, feeling that she still had a pulse, "I beat the shit out of a werewolf Rose, no magic, just my bare hands. I will snap your neck like a little twig if you keep touching my little sister." Justin growled at Rose. I might be really pissed off at Rose, but I don't know if I would kill her. Maybe kick her off the Tardis, but not kill her. I do agree with Justin though, Rose shouldn't be near Alex right now, she's caused enough damage. Rose looked at me to say something to Justin, but I looked back down at Alex. I'm not going to say anything to Justin about that, I know he's just worried about Alex, I doubt he'd ever lay a hand on Rose. Rose moved away and sat down on the jump seat, still watching us.
I heard a gasp and looked down at Alex, "Alex? Sweetheart, are you okay?"
Alex sat up, putting her hands on her head, "does it look like I'm okay, Doctor?"
Justin and I started laughing, same old Alex. "Alex!" Justin hugged her tight.
She kept her hands on her head and started crying, "my head hurts really fucking bad." I felt myself roll my eyes, now's not the time to yell at her about cussing. Alex began screaming and shaking, holding onto her head. I tightened my arms around her, I hate seeing Alex in pain.
"Alex, it's alright." Justin put his fingers on her temples, closing his eyes. Alex fell lifelessly into my lap again. "I put her in a healing coma, hopefully will help with the pain." I nodded at Justin, good idea.
"What do we do?" I bit my lip, I hate this feeling. This horrible ache kept creeping up on me.
Justin sat there in deep thought, brushing Alex's hair out of her face, "the book of Forbidden Spells!" Justin's eyes widened, "Doctor, do you know where Alex kept it? Do you know where it is?"
"It's in her bag! Take Alex to the med room. Straight down the hallway, second door on the right." I sprinted to Alex's room, grabbing her bag. I hurried to the medic room and chucked it at Justin, who turned the bag upside down, emptying everything out.
Justin read every page, flipping through the book, "there's no spell to help." Justin sat back down next to Alex. I swallowed, what else is there left to do then?
"What the hell do we do then?" I exclaimed. I don't want Alex to die, this is all Roses fault.
"There's only one person that I know who could possibly help." Justin rubbed his temples, "Professor Crumbs." He nodded to me. "He was the one who discovered Alex's ability with time, he might know how to bring Alex back." Justin took out his wand and flashed Crumbs into the room.
"Yes, Becky!" Crumbs shouted. He was wearing bathing suit bottoms and a tropical t-shirt, "what? What's going on? Justin, what is the meaning of this?" The hell was Crumbs doing? You know, what no, I'm not going to judge him. If he's still partying like that and is over three thousand years old, lord have mercy.
Justin grabbed Professors arm, pulling him over to Alex, "Professor Crumbs, we need your help." He looked down at Alex, "Alex is in a coma. We're afraid she might be dying."
"How did this happen? How long has she been unconscious?" Crumbs started investigating Alex's lifeless body.
"Our friend Rose saved her father who was supposed to be dead, then these reapers showed up and were making anything alive disappear. Alex started to feel light headed, and her body slowly started to disappear, then she eventually passed out. Even after time was resorted to normal and her body was back, Alex didn't have a pulse. She does now, but Justin had to put her in a healing coma because the pain in her head was unbearable." I explained to Professor Crumbs.
"It's only affecting her because she is time. The timeline shouldn't have been altered like that," Crumbs paused, staring at me and Justin. "How long was she dead?"
"About ten minutes." Justin confirmed.
"I'm going to be honest, Alex is different from every other Wizard, as you two know. I only know of a couple ways to help her, but they don't always work. There's a chance she might not wake up. Alex might be stuck in this coma forever." Crumbs looked at us sadly, "Alex is time. Time lives within her, it's her soul." Crumbs shook his head at us, "time was ripped out of her." He motioned to me, "it's like a Time Lord trying to get around with one heart, it's not going to work, they need both of them to survive. Alex and time both balance each other out. If one of them stops, so does the other. Because of how long this so-called friend of yours altered time, Alex might not wake up. In other words, we'll all be screwed." I felt both my hearts breaking. I sat down in the chair on the other side of Alex's bed. Oh my god, this can't be happening. I felt like I was going to throw up. No, please no. Alex, don't leave me, not yet. "Right now she has a pulse, we just have to hang onto that."
There was a small knock on the door, we all turned around and saw Rose standing there. I wanted to yell at her, tell her it was her fault that Alex might die, but I couldn't bring myself to. I just wanted Alex to be okay. Screaming and yelling isn't going to help Alex's situation. "Out." Justin pointed at the door. Rose gave Justin a hurt expression, but ignored him. She walked over to Justin's side of the bed, going to hold Alex's hand, except Justin intercepted it. "I said get out." He pointed to the door again.
"She's my friend, Justin." Rose rolled her eyes at him, going to grab Alex's hand.
"Your friend? Really? Alex is your friend? Look what you did to her. She might not wake up from this, Rose." Justin yelled at her.
"I thought Alex was immortal?" Rose scrunched up her face.
I turned to her, "well she is, but 'time' is what makes her immortal, since time isn't living in her anymore, she's no longer immortal."
Justin rolled his eyes at Rose, "all because you had to be selfish."
"I wasn't being selfish! I just wanted my dad back! I wanted a normal childhood, with two parents. You had that right? Two loving parents that would do anything for you?" I looked at Rose, who looked like she was going to burst into tears. I understand why Rose brought her father back, I really do. But she used me.
"Just because I have two loving parents doesn't mean I had the best childhood, Rose." Justin glared at her, "I'm gonna lose my best friend because of you."
"Your best friend? Last I checked you guys were always arguing and doing horrible spells to each other." Rose yelled back at Justin.
Justin sat down next to Alex, putting his hand in hers. "Just because we argued doesn't mean I didn't love her. When we'd argued it wasn't actually arguing, Rose. It was just something we did. We knew how to get under each other skins and what buttons to push. It was our way of saying I love you. We always brought the best out in each other. Alex helped me become an amazing Wizard, as I helped her. Even though she'd tease me all day long, she was still my best friend. I could count on her any time of day to be there. I don't know where I'd be without Alex." Rose didn't say anything, just shifted awkwardly. "Please just get out, Rose?" Rose sighed, but did as she was told, and left.
I rested my chin in Alex's hand, staring at her beautiful face. I just want her to get better. I shouldn't have agreed to take Rose to see her father, I should've thought it through more. I felt tears running down my face, god I didn't want her to go. "Professor, there has to be something we can do. We can't just sit here and stare at her."
"Justin, did you try the book of Forbidden Spells?" Justin nodded at Crumbs, "did you try putting her in the time vortex?"
Justin and I looked at each other wide eyed, "it's not safe to do that." I shook my head at Crumbs. There is no way in hell that I'm throwing Alex into the time vortex, that would kill her in an instant.
"It's not safe for someone who doesn't have the vortex living within them." Crumbs raised his bushy eyebrows at me. Well, he's got a point. I sighed and nodded, picking Alex up bridal style and carried her to the console. I handed Alex to Justin and programmed a random time into the Tardis. Justin hurried over to the doors and threw Alex into the vortex. We watched as it looked like some of the vortex went into her. There was a bright light and we all looked away. "Bring her back." Crumbs nodded. Justin took out his wand, using it to bring Alex to the Tardis.
I scooped Alex up, putting my fingers to her neck, "she's still got a pulse." I nodded to them, "Alex? Love?" I shook her a bit, trying to get her to wake up, but she didn't.
Purple and blue bursts of energy came out of her mouth, going back into the time vortex, "her bodies rejecting it." Professor Crumbs shook his head. I carried her back to the medic room, placing her down gently on the bed. Justin sat down on the other side of her, holding onto her hand tightly. I looked over at Crumbs, who seemed to be putting potions together. I slipped my hand into Alexs, resting my chin against her hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up, still holding Alex's hand. I looked around the room, seeing Crumbs still working on potions and Justin still asleep, holding her other hand. I rubbed my thumb against her cheek, don't go, Alex. You can't leave me just yet. The monitor beeping excessively, I started shaking Justin, waking him up, "Professor Crumbs!" All three of us started running around the room, trying to get some different medicine into her body. I thought my hearts were already broken, but now they are, Alex flatlined.
"Oh my god, Alex!" I cried, grabbing her hand again. "Don't go yet."
"Alex, no!" Justin yelled and began doing CPR. "What the fuck?" Justin stared at the glowing energy going into Alex's mouth. I felt myself rolling my eyes, never thought Justin would be the type to cuss.
"It's from the Tardis, the Tardis is trying to save her." We watched as Alex breathed in the energy, but nothing happened.
"Nothing seems to be working." Professor Crumbs stared at us. Wow, thank you for stating the obvious buddy. "Justin, Doctor, you have to look after her okay? Make sure nothing like this ever happens again."
Justin and I snapped our heads at him, "what?" Justin raised his voice at Crumbs.
"I've lived a long life. 3,123 years to be exact, I've seen everything there is to see. Alex hasn't. She deserves more than to die right now." Wow, Alex was right, he is a lot older than me.
"Professor, I don't understand." Justin's voice sounded shaky.
"Well there's only one other Wizard who has time living inside of them." Crumbs nodded to me and Justin. I thought Alex was the only wizard with that power?
"That's not true, you said Alex was the only Wizard who could control time and that made her the most powerful Wizard." Justin shook his head at Crumbs.
"I'm not saying Alex isn't the most powerful Wizard, Justin. I'm saying she's not the only Wizard who has time living within them, Justin." Crumbs looked up at us, "there's me."
"What? How come you never told me?" Justin stumbled backwards.
"Same reason Alex doesn't tell people." He shook his head. "I have to do this now or she won't wake up." He walked over to Alex.
"Do what now?" I shook my head at him, not understanding what the hell is going on.
"I can give the time that lives inside of me to Alex." Crumbs nodded, "I can possibly save her."
"But then you'll die." I bit my lip, Alex would be so angry if she heard what Crumbs was saying.
"Honestly, I don't know, Doctor. Even if I do, I've lived a good life. Alex has a lot to live for." He put his fingers on Alex's temples, "because I'm forcing time out of me and back into Alex she's going to be in a lot of pain. Justin, you have to put her back in the healing coma and don't you dare wake her." Crumbs looked up at us, "Alex will also be getting new powers. She's not going to know how to use them, so you two have to make sure she's trained herself and be patient with her. She's going to be scared."
Crumbs closed his eyes, pressing their heads together. When he pulled away, Alex's eyes shot open, looking around the room. "Alex?" Justin stared at her, wide eyed. Holy mother of god. Alex shot up and her eyes were glowing bright gold, she got out of bed and walked to the console, programming her. My jaw dropped, Alex is flying the Tardis. How does she know how to fly it? I never taught her. "You taught Alex how to fly the Tardis?" Justin raised an eyebrow at me. I shook my head, not believing what I'm seeing. "Then how the hell does she know how to fly it?"
"She doesn't." Crumbs shook his head at us. "Before your Tardis gave Alex parts of her soul, which is giving Alex knowledge about your ship. Right now she knows how to fly her, but Alex won't remember after she's done."
"When what is done?" Justin put his hand on Crumbs shoulder.
"Her old body is dead, her soul or time is creating a new one." Crumbs motioned to me, "Alex is basically regenerating."
"Is Alex going to change?" Justin bit his lip. I don't want Alex to change. I mean, I wouldn't mind if she did, but I honestly didn't want her too.
"I don't know, I didn't." Professor shrugged. He didn't change? This happened to him? What? This day is absolutely bananas.
Alex snapped her fingers and the Tardis doors opened, since when can the Tardis do that? "Alex?" I stared at her, the hell is she doing? She gave me a smile and sprinted out the doors, into the vortex. "Alex!" The three of us screamed together, running towards the doors. The Tardis stopped moving and we just hovered in the time vortex. Alex floated around in the blue and purple spirals, grinning.
She started screaming as the spirals shot into her heart, "oh my god, Alex!" Justin tried to go into the vortex to help her, but Crumbs held him back.
"She needs to do this." Crumbs said, still holding onto Justin. The bright light from before came back and we shielded our eyes. As the light dimmed we looked back outside, seeing Alex coming back to us.
Alex walked back into the Tardis and smiled at us, "hello." I stared at her, I'm kinda happy she didn't change. Now I know how my companions feel when I do.
"Hi." Alex put her hand on my cheek and pulled me into a kiss. I smiled down at her. She whipped her hand away quickly and put both her hands on her head and started screaming again, "holy fuck my head!"
"We have to put her in a healing coma now!" Crumbs shook his head, "her body's still curing itself. Alex's in a great amount of pain right now." I put my fingers on Alex's temples, closing my eyes. Alex's eyes rolled to the back of her head, going straight into the healing coma. I picked her up and hurried back to the medic room, her back into the bed gently.
"Thank you, Professor Crumbs. I don't know what I'd do if Alex died." Justin gave Crumbs a hug.
"Professor Crumbs?" He turned to me, "what did you mean when you said that you didn't change?"
He frowned, "this happened to me when I was a little boy." Crumbs shook his head, "I died because some idiot human decided to mess with the time vortex. At the time, the only other Wizard who had the special connection with time was my father. He gave his soul to me, saving my life. He died in the process. Because I died, I never got the powers Alex has." Justin and I raised an eyebrow at him, "as I said, Alex is the most powerful Wizard. I may have had time living within me, but I don't have nearly the amount of power Alex has. She doesn't know it, but she could stop time with the snap of her fingers." Wow. Crumbs looked at the floor. "Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't die."
"Thank you, Professor Crumbs." I nodded to him, slipping my hand into Alexs. Crumbs walked over to the side of the bed, kissing Alex's forehead. I snickered a bit, knowing she would've been so furious because Professor's beard was all over her face. He nodded to us and flashed himself out.
Justin sat down on the other side of Alex, "Doctor?" I looked up from Alex to him, "would it be okay if I stayed while Alex's in the coma? I just want to make sure Alex is okay. I totally understand"-
"Yes." I nodded to Justin. I honestly wanted him to stay, I think I'd go crazy just sitting here alone, waiting for Alex to wake up. I liked Justin. He cared so much about his little sister. He's right, he does bring out good in her. I could see the pain in his eyes when Alex's heart stopped. I felt his pain. All the stories Alex used to tell me about her and Justin, it made me think that they actually hated each other, that they hated being in the same room as one another. But it's not that way, it's not that way at all. They actually do love each other and I wouldn't doubt it for a second. I looked down at Alex, tucking a stray hair behind her ear.
"What're you going to do with Rose?" I saw Justin staring at me out of the corner of my eye, "I mean, I could take her to the Wizard court. Rose would probably be sent to prison for the rest of her life, either that or the death sentence." Justin sighed, "I don't know if it's worth it though. I mean, I'm so angry at her. Right now I can definitely feel hate towards her. Rose almost killed my sister and the girl you love. It's not fair if she gets away with it."
Love? I have deep feelings for Alex, I don't know about love though. "I'm not saying I don't agree with you." I took my eyes off Alex and looked at Justin, "but I think it's Alex's call." He nodded, turning back to his sister. "But I do agree with you on the fact Rose shouldn't be in here," I put my hand on the wall, "lock Rose in her room." The lights flashed and I slipped my hand back into Alexs, kissing it. I just wanted Alex to get better, I wish none of this had to happen to her.
