The Most Powerful Wizard

*The Doctors POV*

Alex was sitting in the jump seat with her legs hanging over the sides, playing with her hair. Rose was explaining everything to Adam, while I was messing around with the Tardis' wires. I didn't like that kid so much. I rolled my eyes, listening to Rose explain the Tardis to 'pretty boy'.

I looked around as the wind started to pick up in the Tardis. I looked over at Alex, who rolled her eyes. "What's going on?" Adam held onto the railing. Man up boy.

"Justin, don't you know that breaking and entering is illegal?" Alex didn't look up at Justin, just continued to mess with her hair.

"Sorry, Doctor." Justin gave me an apologetic look. I don't really care, I just hope he allows Alex to have her powers back. She didn't deserve to lose them over Van Statten, she was only protecting me.

I walked over to Justin, "are you here to give Alex her powers back? She broke her wand." I took the wand out of my jacket pocket, handing him the two pieces. "She said before that there was nothing we could do to get them back, but is there? Is there anything I can do?"

"It wasn't Alex's fault, this man was torturing the Doctor, and made her grant all his wishes like she was some genie. Alex was just protecting him." Rose motioned to me.

"I'm aware." Justin raised an eyebrow at me and turned to Alex, "you didn't tell them?"

I turned to Alex, "tell us what?"

"No. I didn't get to tell them yet." Alex shook her head at Justin. Tell us what?

"Tell us what?" Rose threw her arms up.

"Come here." Alex motioned with her hand. We walked over and she took another wand out of her boot. I raised an eyebrow at her.

"But you broke your wand." Rose exclaimed, pointing to the broken wand in Justin's hands.

"If you would let me speak." Alex rolled her eyes at Rose. "The wand in Justin's hand is a fake. It doesn't work." She shook her head. She pointed to the green tip on her wand, "see this part? It's a button. If any Wizard is in danger they can press it for help and Justin will come."

"Did you know this?" Rose nudged me.

"Nope." I shrugged. Why didn't she tell me this? I knew a lot about Wizards, but I never knew that.

Alex ignored us and continued. "When Van Statten kept making me grant his wishes, I got scared, and clicked the button."

"I was listening the whole time." Justin nodded. "I actually got scared when he told Alex to give him all of time because Alex is the only Wizard that can do that." Wait what? "So I showed up, making a big scene about it."

"Justin took my powers away so I couldn't do the spell for Van Statten. If he didn't destroy the entire universe, then he definitely would've killed me. Justin was only protecting me." Alex shook her head at us.

"I was going to give them back to her once I knew she was safe. Which she is now." Justin motioned to Alex, who smiled at him. "Kneel." He pointed to the floor.

"I'm not kneeling." Alex shook her head at him.

"Kneel." Alex sighed loudly, but did it. "I declare that Alexandra Russo can have her powers back." I watched as Justin tapped Alex on the head with his wand, watching as these bright colors go into Alex. Alex beamed at us. I was happy for her, I just wish she had told me. I wouldn't have said anything to Van Statten, if anything I would've gone along with it.

"Wait." Rose put her hands up again. Alex groaned loudly, making Justin snicker a bit. "Shut up, Alex, I have questions." Rose turned to Justin, "you said Alex was the only Wizard that can do that spell, why? You also said that it would destroy her, why?" Rose turned to Alex, "also why the hell didn't you tell us?"

"Because I had to make it believable. I wasn't risking Van Statten finding out they were only 'temporarily suspended'." Alex shrugged. Still wish she told me. Rose turned back to Justin, waiting for his answers. "Justin, don't." She whispered in his ear, but my highly sensitive ears heard her.

I turned to Alex, "you don't want us to know what?" She bit her lip. Is she actually shutting me out again? I was hoping we moved on from that, but I guess not. I stared at her, waiting for an answer.

"Honestly, Alex, you should be honored. I don't understand why you don't tell anyone." Justin motioned to her. She swallowed, but ignored us. "Are you okay?" Justin nudged her, she nodded at him and he sighed. "Maybe this would make you feel better." Alex looked up at him, "I'm getting a promotion in the Wizard Council." She nodded at him, not really caring. "There's going to be a ceremony." Alex shrugged, still not caring. "I want you there, Alex." She didn't look at him, is she always this rude? "I want you to say a couple words too." He sighed, seeing he wasn't getting anywhere. "You know students at Wiztech came up to me and asked if you were coming? Everyone wants to see you, Lexie." Lexie? Alex didn't look like a 'Lexie.' She glared at him, "sorry, love to annoy you." She smirked at him. "But seriously, I want you there. I'll leave my own ceremony if I don't see you in the crowd. You can bring the Doctor, Rose, and that weird kid standing over there." He pointed to Adam, which made Alex snort. "Come on, I need someone to hype me up."

"You seriously want Alex to 'hype you up'?" Rose mocked him.

"Yes I do. I know she cares about me. Should've heard her crying and begging me not to leave her when I disappeared." Justin smirked at Rose, making Alex kick him in the shin.

"Alex always told me that you guys used to argue though?" Rose shook her head, clearly confused. Rose isn't wrong though, Alex has talked about the arguments they used to get in.

"Oh we did. But still, this little delinquent cried when I disappeared forever." He put his hand on the top of her head, messing up her hair.

"I'm sorry, but if you disappeared forever, how're you here?" I shook my head at Justin, did I hear that right? 'Disappeared forever'. How can he be standing here if he disappeared? I'm honestly lost.

"That was when I made our parents forget who we were. Time was catching up to us and if we didn't fix it, we would've disappeared forever." Alex nodded to me.

"If you didn't fix it." Justin corrected her, making her kick him again.

"Wow. Alex crying over you? That's hard to believe from the arguments she's told me you two have had." Rose snorted.

Justin smirked at her, "destination, time recreation." There was a bright light and we looked around, seeing that we were on some type of field.

"Seriously Justin?" Alex crossed her arms at him.

"Well, your friend here," he pointed to Rose, "didn't believe me, had to prove it."

"Course you did. Justin Russo, the man who always has to be right." Alex rolled her eyes.

We watched as Alex flew around, happy she won the competition. "Told you, you were ready." Justin forced a smile at Alex.

"Justin I"- I watched as Alex moved towards Justin, but he backed away.

"Don't, it's fine."

"Okay quick!" Alex's dad ran over to them. "You need to do the spell now."

"Um right okay, but I don't know what to do. Justin help me, what spell do I use?"

"Why would I help you?"

"Cause you're my brother. Look I'm...I'm sorry that you didn't"-

"I'm your brother?" Justin backed away from Alex.

"No, no, no, Justin, please you can't leave me here, please remember." Alex started to cry, "I'm Alex. I'm your little sister. I taunt you and I tease you and I make your life miserable but you love me anyway." She paused. "You're everything that I've ever wanted to be. I'm jealous of how smart you are and how kind and how nice, please don't leave me here." Awe. I felt bad for Alex. I grabbed her hand, rubbing my thumb over her knuckles.

Justin tilted his head at her, "I'd never leave you. I don't know who you are, but I believe you." Alex smashed into him, crushing Justin in a tight hug.

"Okay, what spell do I use?" Alex wiped her tears with her wrist.

"Ah, what... what's going on? I don't, don't know the situation."

"No, Justin! Justin, no!" We watched as Justin disappeared. Alex turned to her dad, "you have to help me! Justin should've won this not me!"

"Ah, what a great memory." Alex glared at Justin, picking up a rock and throwing it at his head. He flashed us back to the Tardis.

"Damn, who knew Alex was sensitive?" Rose giggled at Alex. Alex sat back down on the jump seat, glaring at Rose.

"Well Rose, your parents don't recognize you, you watched your brothers disappear forever right in front of you, and you have no idea what spell to use to fix it. You have seconds before you disappear forever like your brothers. Tell me, how are you going to feel in that situation?" Alex spat at Rose. I shifted awkwardly, not knowing what to say. Rose didn't say anything, just turned back to Adam.

Justin smiled at Alex and nudged her with his elbow, "come on, I want you to give the speech at the ceremony. Nobody else in the whole universe, Alex. We're Justin and Alex Russo, Wizards who have saved the Earth too many times to be honest. Please." He tilted his head at her.

"Hold on." Adam walked over to Alex and Justin, with his hands up. "Russo?"

Alex shook her head at Adam, "depends, why? Do you know anyone in the CIA?" Of course Alex would ask that.

"No...?" Adam raised his eyebrows at Alex.

"You don't seem so sure." Justin tilted his head at Adam, "the CIA doesn't really like us. Actually no, the CIA doesn't like Alex." He pointed to Alex, who nodded in agreement. Why doesn't that surprise me? "So, are you coming?"

"Fine." Alex shrugged, I knew she didn't want to do it, but she did anyway.

"Good. It's April 2nd. Dress nice, all of you." Justin motioned his hand around the room.

"Justin, that's in two days." Alex raised her eyebrows at him.

"Yep. See you then." Justin turned to me, "sorry for breaking into your Tardis, Doctor." I nodded back to him and he flashed himself out. I rested my hands on the console, facing away from everyone.

"So what's this thing you don't want us to know?" Rose asked Alex, who sighed loudly.

"You're a Wizard?" Adam sounded surprised. Well no duh. How else would you explain all this? Pretty boy was clearly an idiot.

"Yeah." She nodded. "Wish I wasn't though." She mumbled, I turned around to face her, sending her a glare. She shook her head at me and left the console.

I didn't like the fact that Alex wouldn't tell us what Justin was talking about. I want us to be able to talk to each other about these things. It can't be bad since Justin said she should be honored, but still. I want to know.

Rose went to go show Adam his bedroom and I walked over to the library. I opened the doors, looking at her spot on the couch. She wasn't there. I was a bit surprised, she's always in here. This seemed to be her favorite room. I went to leave, but I turned around again, staring at the mug sitting on the coffee table. I walked over and picked it up, "still warm." Hot, actually. I looked down at the couch, seeing a small indent. I smiled to myself, almost as clever as me. "Alex, I know you're sitting on the couch." I crossed my arms at her spot. She appeared, shoving her wand back in her boot and not looking up from her book.

"Alex." I continued to stare at her.

She took her wand out again, "shush for a sec." She typed into her wand, what? Wizards can do that? She put it to her ear and I heard ringing. "Justin, it was a guava smoothie right?" She didn't look up from her book. "I knew I wasn't wrong. This book I'm reading about dad giving up his powers for mom said that it was papaya smoothie." She nodded and folded her wand, hanging up. She continued reading, ignoring me. Ugh, come on Alex.

"Alex."

Alex jumped a bit, shaking her head. "Shit sorry. Yes, Doctor?" She looked up, staring at me. I sent her a glare. Alex needs to watch her mouth. I sat down next to her, taking her book out of her hands and putting it on the table. "Hey! I was reading that ya know!" She tried to snatch it back but I pushed it further away.

"Alex." I raised my eyebrows at her, "what don't you want me knowing?"

"Oh that." Alex laughed a bit. "Why do you want to know?"

"Because I'm your boyfriend." I crossed my arms.

"That's a shitty excuse." She crossed her arms, mocking me. I couldn't help but snicker a little. I can't stay mad at Alex, she's so blunt it's funny.

"I want to know, Alex. What happened to our conversation on the roof. You said you'd talk to me if you needed anything."

"Well, I don't need anything right now." Alex smiled at me.

"You didn't need anything when you took me on the magic carpet ride either."

Alex laughed a little, "you got me there." She turned her body to face me, sitting cross legged. "I don't really like people knowing." She shrugged, resting her chin in her hand. Alex, we've been over this, dear. I went to open my mouth, but she beat me to it. "I swear to god if you say 'I'm not people, I'm the Doctor'." She mocked me, "I will actually punch you." I laughed, sticking my tongue out at her.

"Come on. What is it? What don't you want me to know?" I poked her and grabbed her hand.

"It's not just you, Doctor, it's everyone." Alex shook her head at me. "I hate the idea of people knowing and honestly, I still don't want you to know. You of all people." Wow. Why can't I know? 'You of all people', that stung a bit. I'm not judgmental, why is she scared to talk to me about this?

I pulled my hand away, "why?" I asked her sternly.

"Because I don't." Alex seemed weirded out by my voice change. "It's embarrassing."

"So you think that whatever this is, could be more embarrassing than what you told me on the carpet?" I spat at her. I felt my mouth drop, oh god, tell me I just didn't say that. The look on her face, oh my god, I did. "Alex, I didn't mean it like that, I just want you to tell me."

"Doctor, you actually feel that I should be embarrassed of my past?" I shook my head, but she shrugged, "don't worry about it, Doctor, I agree with you. I am embarrassed of it." She bit her lip, facing away from me now.

I gulped, I did not mean that. How could she be embarrassed of her past? She's got nothing to be embarrassed over. "No, Alex, that's not what I meant. Telling me about what happened in your past is hard. I know you felt embarrassed telling me about it, I just meant that nothing could probably be more nerve wracking than that. I just want you to tell me."

"Doctor, it's fine, I understand." She shrugged it off. I sighed, knowing I wasn't getting anywhere with her right now. I didn't mean it in the way it came out.

She stood up, grabbing her book, "Alex, I'm sorry."

Alex smiled at me, but continued to walk towards the door. She paused and looked back at me, "remember when I tried looking in the spell books to bring your family back?" I nodded at her, "I could bring them back if you wanted me too."

"No, you can't. No one can"-

Alex cut me off, "yes, I can. I'm the most powerful Wizard in the universe." My eyes widened at her. "I can go back in your time stream and make you change your mind, so you wouldn't use the Moment. I could bring all your people back. Hell, I could even go back and make sure the Daleks never existed. I am time. I create it. If I gave time to Van Statten, I would've died in an instant. It's a part of me. It lives in me. If god forbid your Tardis ever dies, I could give up pieces of my soul and bring her back to life. I could bring anyone or anything back to life. It is not as embarrassing as it might seem, Doctor. But once people find out that I can control time and can go back and fix little things about their lives, they become selfish and only use me to get what they want." She gave me a hard stare, before closing the door.

Okay, I was not expecting that. I laid back into the couch, nodding my head to myself. Some things about Alex don't exactly add up, so this actually makes a lot of sense. I don't understand why she's embarrassed over that, she's an incredible Wizard. Is this what Jabe was talking about at Platform One? I have so many questions for her. Probably too many, but I want to understand this.

I got up from the couch, slowly heading to Alex's room. I knocked on her door, "come in." I walked into her room and leaned against the doorframe, staring at her. She was wearing sweatpants and a baggy sweatshirt that said 'hell was boring'. I snickered a bit, only Alex would have that sweatshirt. She had her hair in a messy bun and was leaning against the bed frame, eating a tub of ice cream. I smiled to myself, even in sweats Alex looked gorgeous. "Yes, love?" I smiled again, I like it when she calls me love. I know she's annoyed with me right now, but it still felt nice to hear her say that.

"I just had some questions about what you said earlier." Alex looked over at me and turned her TV off, motioning me to sit down. She moved to the bottom of the bed and laid down on her stomach, with her ice cream. She grabbed her wand from the middle of the bed and zapped up another spoon. Alex pat the spot next to her, I hesitated, but laid down on my stomach as well. She handed me the spoon and I laughed a bit, eating some of her ice cream.

"What're your questions, Doctor?" Alex didn't look at me, just continued to eat her ice cream.

"How do you know you're the most powerful Wizard? I'm not saying you're not,"-

Alex put her hand up, motioning me to shut up. "Well, when I was born, there was a lot of things wrong with me." I raised an eyebrow, "I could disappear within dimensions and be able to stop time. My parents took me to these scientists in the Wizard World and they did a lot of..." Alex paused and bit her lip, "tests. I was basically  their guinea pig cause all they did was run tests on me."

"What kind of tests?" I tilted my head.

"Not good ones." I could tell Alex didn't want to get into it, so I changed the topic.

I nodded, "is that why you didn't want me talking to your family? Why you were so against us going for a sandwich?"

"Well yes and no. I was nervous they were going to say something about it after you told them about the Tardis. But I also genuinely didn't want to go. My family is just a bit crazy."

I laughed. They weren't as crazy as she makes them sound. Maybe it's because I've only met them once, but still. "Why didn't you want me knowing?" I took another spoonful of ice cream.

Alex stared at the floor, avoiding my gaze. "Because once anyone finds out that I have this power, they just use it for themselves, and then kick me out of their lives." She bit her lip.

I put my spoon in her ice cream container, shifting over so I was on my side and put my hand on her cheek. "Alex, people have used me for my Tardis like that, why would I do that to you? It's not a very nice feeling, honey."

"I don't know," Alex shrugged at me, "I could bring your people back."

"But I don't want you to." She looked at me surprised, "I told you, I knew what would happen if I took the Moment, it was my call. This is my punishment and I wouldn't ask you to do that for me when I killed them." Alex didn't say anything, just continued to eat her ice cream. "Alex, you know I didn't mean what I said back there about your past being embarrassing right?"

Alex nodded at me, "I know. I'm sorry I got so pissed off. I completely overreacted." No love, you didn't. You've got every right to be annoyed with me.

"You have nothing to be embarrassed over, Alex."

She bit her lip and nodded at me again. Alex placed her ice cream on the floor, laying on her side to look at me. "Doctor? Were you scared of the Dalek today?"

I bit my lip, feeling a bit awkward. I honestly thought they were all dead. It was a big surprise to me that one made it out alive. "Yeah." I paused, nodding at Alex, "I was."

Alex scooted closer to me, nuzzling her face into my chest. "I was too." I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tightly.

We stayed like that for a while, not saying anything, just enjoying each other's embrace. It was nice. It was calming. Her vanilla scent always smelt so good. I looked down at my Alex. I chuckled, realizing that she's fast asleep. I wiggled out of her grasp, scooping her up and laying her down at the top of the bed. I tucked her into her comforter. "Doctor?"

I jumped, not expecting her to be awake. "Yes?"

Alex reached out and grabbed my hand, "you don't have too, but will you stay with me tonight?"

"Course, sweetheart." I kicked off my shoes and jacket, laying down next to her. Alex snuggled into my chest, burying her face in it. I wrapped my arms tightly around her again, pulling her close. I rubbed her back softly, hoping it would put her back to sleep. Which it did, noticing she was asleep within seconds. I sighed, feeling myself drift off into a deep sleep.
