Rose Tyler is Alive

*The Doctors POV*

I was flying the Tardis, well, badly. The Tardis was violently shaking. "We've got incoming!" Jack yelled, "the extrapolator's working. We've got a fully functional forcefield. Try saying that when you're drunk!" I rolled my eyes, only Jack Harkness would be thinking about getting drunk right now.

I was messing around with the controls, frantically, "and for my next trick." I watched as Rose started to appear in the Tardis, her hair was blowing everywhere. My hearts dropped, realizing a Dalek was right behind her.

"Rose! Get down!" She stared at Alex like she had twenty heads. "Get down, Rose!" Alex yelled again, this time, she dropped to the floor.

"Exterminate!" The Dalek screamed and I grabbed Alex, pulling her behind me, Harper hiding behind the jump seat. Jack held up his huge gun and fired at the Dalek, leaving a huge pile of smoke.

"You guys did it!" Rose scrambled to her feet, slightly grinning. Alex ran over to her, crushing Rose in a tight hug. "Feels like I haven't seem you in years."

I went over to join them, wrapping my arms around the both of them, "told you we'd come and get you."

"Never doubted it." Rose giggled as she hugged us tighter.

"I did!" Alex shrugged, "you all right?" Well thanks for doubting me Alex.

"Yeah. You?" Rose grinned.

"Not bad. Been better!" I walked away, examining the Dalek. I took out the sonic, scanning the dead Dalek as Jack was teasing Rose. These things never go away do they? Destroying my family and planet was all for nothing.

"You said they were extinct. How come they're still alive?" Rose titled her head at ms. Believe me, I wish I knew.

"One minute they're the greatest threat in the universe, the next minute they vanished out of time and space." Jack shook his head, staring at the dead Dalek.

"They went off to fight a bigger war." I wore off, continuing to examine the Dalek, "The Time War..."

"I thought that was just a legend." Jack stared at me in shock and turned to Alex, "isn't that what your dad said?"

Alex opened her mouth to say something, but I beat her to it, "I was there. The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords. With the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them. I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing."

"There's thousands of them now." Rose shook her head at us. "We could hardly stop one. What're we gonna do?"

"No good stood round here chin wagging! Human race, you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers, let's go and meet the neighbors." I grabbed Alexs hand, pulling her to the Tardis' doors.

"You can't go out there!" Rose yelled, but Alex and I were already out the doors.

"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Daleks fired their beams at us, but the rays reflect off the forcefield of the Tardis, keeping us safe.

"Is that it? Useless! Nul points." I leaned against the Tardis, pulling Alex to me. "It's all right, come on out. That forcefield can hold back anything."

"Almost anything." Jack corrected me. Thanks for that, mate.

"Yes, but I wasn't gonna tell them that. Thanks." I sent Jack a glare, who smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry." Jack shrugged and Alex smirked a little.

"Do you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Homeworld? The Oncoming Storm. You might've removed all your emotions... but I reckon that right down deep in your DNA, there's one little spark left. And that's fear. Doesn't it just burnwhen you face me? So, tell me, how did you survive The Time War?"

"They survived through me." My hearts dropped, I know that voice. I turned around, staring at the Emperor Dalek I took a few steps towards it, staring at the Emperor Dalek in complete awe.

"Lex, Rose, Captain, Harper, this is the Emperor of the Daleks." I chewed the inside of my lip, feeling my hearts skipping multiple beats.

"You destroyed us, Doctor. The Dalek Race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive."

"I get it." I shrugged, not really caring what he had to say.

"Do not interrupt!"

"Do not interrupt!"

"Do not interrupt!" Rose, Harper, and Jack flinch, but Alex and I stared at Daleks, sending glares their way.

"I think you're forgetting something. He's the Doctor. And if there's one thing this man can do, it's talk." Alex smirked at the Daleks.

"I've got five billion languages and you haven't got one way of stopping me. So if anybody's gonna shut up, it's you!" I grinned a little, seeing the Daleks shuffle backwards slightly. I turned back to the Emperor Dalek, "okey doke. So, where were we?"

"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth. Harvesting the waste of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed, they all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted." Alex cringed at the Emperor, but he continued, "the seed of the Human Race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured."

"So, you created an army of Daleks out of the dead." Alex stared at the Emperor in pure disgust. I always think the Daleks ran out of ways to make me sick, but hell again.

"That makes them half human." Rose chirped up, titling her head at me.

"Those words are blasphemy!" The Emperors voice boomed.

"Do not blaspheme!"

"Do not blaspheme!"

"Do not blaspheme!"

"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek." How disgusting.

"Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?" I raised an eyebrow at them.

"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks!"

"Worship him! Worship him! Worship him!" The Daleks chanted. No thank you, think I'll pass on that.

"These motherfuckers are insane." Alex turned to Jack and Rose. "They've been hiding away for a hundred years, in complete silence, that's enough to drive anyone mad."

I walked closer to the Daleks, "but it's worse than that. Driven mad by your own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence. And that makes them more deadly than ever." I shook my head at the Daleks and turned to the Emperor, "we're going." I pulled Alex back to the Tardis, rolling my eyes at the Daleks chants.

"You may not leave my presence!"

"Stay where you are!" I grinned at them mockingly as I opened the Tardis door, making sure the four of them got inside.

I leaned my head against the door, I don't know what to do. I could barely stop one Dalek and now there's thousands of them? Alex came over to me from the console, putting her head on my chest, and giving me a tight hug. I kissed her hair, silently thanking her for her comfort. I grabbed her hand, pulling her back to the console, and programming the Tardis to go back to the game station. We arrived back at the station and the five of us piled out. "Turn everything up. All transmissions, wide open, full power. Now! Do it!" I yelled at the programmers.

"What does that do?" A male programmer asked me as he obeyed my request.

"Stops the Daleks from transmatting on board. How did you get on? Did you contact Earth?" I titled my head at him.

"Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programmes." He shook his head at me. Stupid humans, remind me why they're my favorite species again?

"And the planet's just sitting there, defenseless." I turned my head, noticing Lynda still here. "Lynda, what're you still doing here? I told you to evacuate everyone."

"She wouldn't go." The man told me. Oh no. Alex isn't going to like that.

"Didn't wanna leave ya." Lynda smiled at me. I saw Alex raising her eyebrows at her. Oh no.

Alex walked over, "he didn't need you to stay. He's got me." She stood on her tippy toes, kissing me passionately, before pulling away and glaring at Lynda. Probably a good thing Alex doesn't have her wand, she definitely would've flashed her to a river in South American to be eaten alive by piranhas. Lynda stared at Alex in shock as Alex grinned at her. Lynda looked at Jack, Harper, and Rose who looked like they were about to pee in their pants.

"I love jealous Alex." Harper said between laughs, Jack nodding, agreeing with her.

Breaking the awkward stares, a male programmer spoke up, "weren't enough shuttles anyway, or I wouldn't be here... we've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero."

"Oh, my god. The Fleet is moving." Alex and I turned our attention back to the man, who was staring wide eyed at the screen. "They're on their way."

I was frantically ripping armfuls of wires out of desks, Alex helping. "Dalek plan, big mistake. Because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, come on, it's obvious. A great big transmitter, this station. If I can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it, anyone?"

"You've gotta be kidding." I looked back at Jack who was grinning like a complete idiot.

"Give the man a medal!" I threw my arms up.

"A Delta Wave?" Jack continued grinning.

"A Delta Wave!" Alex yelled, her grin was bigger than Jacks.

"What's a Delta Wave?" Rose raised an eyebrow, staring at us like we each had fifty heads.

"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy. Fries your brain, stand in the way of a Delta Wave and your head gets barbequed!" Alex and Jack jumped on each other, resulting in Jack falling splat on his back.

"And this place can transmit a massivewave! Wipe out the Daleks!" Alex stood up, jumping up and down.

"Well, lets do it then!" Rose and Harper said together. Harper looked at Rose and laughed a little, earning a smirk from Rose.

Trouble is, wave this size, building this big, brain as clever as mine, should take about, ooh, three days? How long till the Fleet arrive?" I turned to the male programmer.

"Twenty two minutes." Alex and I continued ripping out cables. Twenty two minutes? That's a bit close. I tried tuning out Jack explaining to everyone what was going on.

"There's six of us." The woman producer pointed out.

No way am I letting Rose and Harper fight the Daleks, "Rose, Harper, you can help me. I need all these wires stripped bare." Rose hurried over, doing what I asked.

"Right! Now there's four of us!" The woman groaned miserably.

"Well, technically no. There's five. We've got our secret weapon." Jack grinned at the woman. "We've got Russo." Jack pulled Alex up and to his side. Alex gave Jack a worriedly look, "come on Russo. Use your jedi mind tricks on these assholes."

"Sounds good to me."

I stood up, pulling Alex away from Jack, "no."

"Doctor, I'll be fine, I can help them. You know I won't die if I get shot. I want to help them"- Alex tried arguing with me.

"I said no." I cut Alex off, glaring at her.

"It's not your decision to make, Doctor." Jack shook his head at me, "we need Alex down there whether you like it or not. We might actually have a chance at winning this."

"No. Alex is staying here." I boomed at Jack, who bit his lip.

"Doctor, I'll be fine"-

"Alex, go and strip the wires." I snapped at her. No way in hell am I letting her go down there to fight the Daleks. I know Alex is powerful, I know she could help Jack. But I know, this isn't going to work. I'm going to die here. I'm breaking my promise. She's going home with Rose and Harper.

Alex stared at me, like she could read my thoughts. "You're doing it aren't you? My dream was right, you're breaking your promise." Alex had shook written all over her face, but she quickly collected herself. "Fine. I'll stay here, it's not like I get a choice anyway." I bit my lip, Alex looked like she was going to burst into tears, but she didn't.

Jack looked at Alex and titled her head. "Then let's move it! Into the lift! Isolate the lift controls!" I went back to stripping the wires with Alex and Rose, when Lynda came up to me.

"I, I just wanna say, um... thanks, I s'pose. And... I'll do my best!" Lynda smiled at me. I looked down at Alex, who just continued stripping the wires, tuning whatever was going on out.

"Me too." I forced a smile at her, she went to hug me but I held out my hand, waiting for her to shake it. She ran off as Jack ran over to us.

"It's been fun! But I guess this is goodbye." Jack forced a smile at the four of us.

"Don't talk like that. The Doctor's gonna do it. You just watch him." Rose smiled at Jack.

"Rose... You are worth fighting for." Jack pulled Rose in for a last kiss and turns to Harper. "Missed ya Harper, I love you like another crazy sister."

"Love ya more, you delinquent." Harper laughed as Jack kisses her cheek and hugged her tightly before turning to me. "Wish I'd never met you, Doctor!" He cupped my face in his hands, "I was much better off as a coward." He kissed me the same way as Rose. "Russo? Come here." Jack held out his hand for Alex to take, and she did, and the two walked away from us.

The three of us stared at them, I felt my hearts breaking a little, watching Alex begin crying and jump into Jacks arms. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, before walking back to us. "See you in hell, Russo."

"Can't wait." Alex grinned back at Jack as he ran off.

"He's gonna be all right," Rose paused, "isn't he?" Rose turned to me. No. He's not. We sat down on the floor again, continuing to mess around with the wires. Alex and Harper were working together as Rose was working with me. Every so often I'd look over at Alex, who had tears streaming down her face. But they didn't stop her, she continued working. I wanted to go over, tell her I'm sorry for what I'm going to do. As long as she's safe, that's all that matters to me.

"Suppose." I looked up at Rose, who broke the silence.

"What?"

"Nothing." Rose shook her head, continuing with working on the wires.

"You said suppose." I waited for Rose to continued. I saw out of the corner of my eye, Alex and Harper looked up, waiting for Rose to finish it.

"No, I was just thinking, I mean, obviously you can't, but you've got a time machine. Why can't you just go back to last week and warn them?" Rose titled her head at me.

"Soon as the Tardis lands in that second, I become part of events. Stuck in the timeline."

"Yeah, thought it'd be something like that." Rose nodded, getting back to work.

"There's another thing the Tardis could do, it could take us away." Rose sent me a small smile. "We could leave. Let history take its course. We go to Marbella in 1989."

Rose shook her head, "yeah, but you'd never do that." She's right, I wouldn't.

"No, but you could ask." Rose didn't reply, so I carried on, "never even occurred to you, did it?"

"Well, I'm just too good!" Rose sent me a big smile, earning a small laugh from Alex. I looked over at Alex, who had a sad smile on her face. She looked over at me and quickly looked away, going back to working. The computer started beep, and Alex jumped up, looking over at it.

"The Delta Wave's started building." Alex called to me.

"How long does it need?" I hurried over to Alex. I pressed a couple buttons and my face fell. I looked down at Alex, who was also frowning.

"Is that bad?" Rose breaks the silence. "Okay, it's bad. How bad is it?"

It has to be now. I forced a happy face for the three. "Rose Tyler, you're a genius!" Rose smiles and I kissed the top of her head, running back to the Tardis. "We can do it! If I use the TARDIS to cross my old timeline. Yes!" Rose and Harper were close behind me as I ran inside the Tardis. "Hold that down and keep position." I motioned to Rose. I pulled Harper on the other side of the console, "press that button for me," and she did.

"What's it do?" Rose grinned at me. I watched Alex staring at me from outside the Tardis.

"Cancels the buffers. If I'm very clever, and I'm more than clever, I'm brilliant, I might just save the world. Or rip it apart..." I forced a grin at Rose.

"I'd go for the first one." Harper laughed and continued to hold down the button.

Me too. Now, I've just got to go and power up the Game Station. Hold on!" I ran outside the Tardis and stared at Alex, "I'm sorry." I pushed Alex inside, making her land on the Tardis floor. The doors slammed shut and I pointed the sonic at the Tardis. The engines begin and I felt both my hearts breaking.

"Doctor, what're you doing? Can I take my hand off? It's moving." Rose yelled.

"Doctor, let me out!" Alex screamed, banging on the door. "Let us out! Doctor, what've you done? Doctor, please, don't do this to me!" I watched as the Tardis faded away and Alexs cries becoming more and more distant. I lowered the sonic and turned away from where the Tardis was. I never got to tell the girl that I've been hoping for for so long that I loved her.
