My Little Wizard II
*Alex's POV*
I blushed more, realizing that the shaking stopped and the Doctor's arms were still around me. Too bad I don't fuck with people like that anymore. Would've been nice to have someone to love. Would've been nice to have someone who's just as crazy as I am. Maybe I'm missing out. I rolled my eyes to myself, nah. I don't miss out on anything. I grabbed the Doctor's hand and we hurried back to the suite room.
'Honored guests may be reassured that gravity pockets may cause slight turbulence, thanking you.'
"That was not a gravity pocket." The Doctor shook his head.
I nodded at him, agreeing. "I know gravity pockets and they don't feel like that."
"What do you think, Jabe?" The Doctor pulled me with him as we were still holding hands. "Listen to the engines. They pitched up about thirty hertz. Is that doggy or what?"
"It's the sound of metal." Jabe nodded, eyeing our interlocked fingers.
"Where's the engine room?" I tilted my head at her.
"I don't know." Jabe shrugged. "But the maintenance room is right behind our guest suite, I could show you and your wife?" She motioned to our hands and I immediately let go, putting my hands on my hips. Well, we all know that of all people in the entire universe, I'd be the last person to get married.
"Uh, she's not my wife." The Doctor and I shifted awkwardly.
"Partner?" Jabe motioned her hands to us again.
"No." I shook my head at her.
"Concubine?" Jabe asked again. Jabe, shut up, we're not fucking. Don't worry, I won't steal your man.
"No." The Doctor shook his head.
"Prostitute?"
"You bitch." I glared at her and her jaw dropped.
"Alex!" The Doctor scolded at me.
I straightened my posture, pointing my finger at her. "From your chin to your toes, an elephant-"
The Doctor wrapped an arm around me and slightly pulled me away from Jabe. "I think what she's trying to say is, she's not invisible. At least, not at the moment..." He mumbled, "do ya mind?" The Doctor smiled at Jabe. He looked down at me with his eyebrows raised and I just pouted. Imagine a tree with an elephant trunk? That would be hilarious.
"Tell ya what, while you guys go and do whatever, I'm gonna catch up with family. Quick work with Michael Jackson." Rose said, nodding at a flap of skin. I stared at the skin, when did she get here? How the hell did I miss that? Freaking weirdos are here, man. Max would fit in just fine.
"Please don't start a fight." The Doctor warned Rose. She already started a fight with you, so she's got it out of her system. Pretty sure we're good here.
"Doctor." He turned his head to look at me, "I'm going to try and find the Stewart. Maybe he knows something." The Doctor nodded and smiled at me. He seemed happy that I remembered to tell him where I was going. I started walking towards the door, leaving the suite room.
I wandered around, trying to find the Stewart's office. Tick tick, I heard something rattling being me, I stopped walking to listen. It stopped, I took another step and the ticking started again. I slowly bent down, whipping out my wand and pointed it in the direction of the sound. There was a little mechanical spider following me. "Say good night, out like a light." I pointed my wand to the little robot and grinned as it shut down.
I walked over and picked it up, who the hell brought their pets on board? "Alex!" The Doctor and Jabe came running over to me. "Did you find the Stewart?"
"No, but I found this." I handed the Doctor the robot spider and he examined it. I noticed Jabe had one in her hands too. I guess these things are all over the ship. How fantastic.
'Sun filters descending, sun filters descending.'
We were forced out of our thoughts and hurried over to the door where the computer's voice rang out. The Doctor took out a little tube like device and put it to the keypad on the door.
"What is that?" I pointed to his little device.
The Doctor flashed it up at me, "sonic screwdriver." He smiled, getting back to opening the door.
"Is anyone in there?" Jabe asked banging on the door.
"You can smell them." The Doctor shifted back away from the door, putting his sonic back in his jacket. "Wait, there's another sun filter program planning to descend."
We hurried to the room, to already hear someone banging on the door, "let me out, let me out!"
"Anyone in here?" The Doctor called. Obviously since someone's banging on the door, Doctor. Dumbass.
"Let me out!" Rose continued to bang on the door.
"Oh well it would be you." I rolled my eyes, trying to help the Doctor open the door.
"Open the door!" Rose screamed.
"Oi! Hold on gives us two ticks." The Doctor panicked, still trying to get the door open.
'Sun filter descending, sun filter descending, sun filter rising, sun filter rising.'
"This is just what we need! The computer's getting clever!"
"Stop mucking about!" Rose continued screaming.
"I'm not mucking about! It's fighting back!" The Doctor screamed through the door.
"Open the door!" Rose continued to bang.
'Sun filter rising, sun filter rising, sun filter rising.'
"I can't open the door. The whole thing's jammed. Rose, can you open the door?" The Doctor called through the door.
"The lock's melted!"
I took my wand out of my boot again, "the Doctor always wrecks it, make this door an exit." The door faded away and Rose came running out, jumping on me for a hug.
The Doctor pouted at me, "I don't always wreck it." He mumbled. I looked up at him with my eyebrows raised, "maybe a little."
"Wow, you're an amazing Wizard." I looked over at Jabe, who I honestly forgot was here. Whoops. Hope the Wizard Council doesn't come after me for that too. "I did a scan on you earlier," I raised my eyebrows at Jabe, when the hell did she do a scan on me? She might know... "Your power. It's amazing. It's so extraordinary to see a Wizard with the time vortex"-
"Doctor, do you know what's going on?" I interrupted Jabe, not wanting her to finish that sentence. The Doctor stared at me like I had ten heads, but didn't question it. He grabbed my hand and we followed him back to the suite room. Jabe walked off with the spider to get this weird machine she was talking about on the way here, honestly I wasn't listening. She seems to ramble a lot. Too bad I have a short attention span.
"The metal machine confirms. The spider devices have infiltrated the whole of platform one."
"How's that possible? Our private rooms are protected by a code wall. Moisturize me, moisturize me." The flap said in a weird tone. I squinted my eyes at her. Something's not right about that chick flap thing... Whatever she is.
"Summon the Steward!" This weird little blue guy on a stool shouted. I wish I paid attention when the Stewart was announcing everyone, damn.
"I'm afraid the Steward is dead." Jabe shook her head. Everyone gasped. Yeah, yeah, y'all are dramatic, we get it. Get on with it already.
"Who killed him?" The little blue guy looked around at everyone in the room.
"This whole event was sponsored by the Face of Boe! He invited us!" The weird flap of skin started blaming the Face. That can't be true, I was just talking to him and he seemed so friendly. He wouldn't do that, I know he wouldn't.
I shifted awkwardly, turning my attention back to this 'Cassandra' as everyone calls her. "Alex, you okay?" I turned to the Doctor, who put his hand on my shoulder and Rose gave me a concerning look. I turned back and continued to stare at Cassandra.
"It's that stupid flap of skin. She's giving herself away and she doesn't think anyone notices." I mumbled to the Doctor. "You see, I've screwed up a lot, as I've told you," I motioned to the Doctor, "but when I knew I was about to be caught, for something I obviously did, I'd act like one of the investigators. I'd act like I had no idea what was going on, then I'd try and piece everything together. After no one suspected me, I'd point the finger at someone sitting quietly in the corner, like the Face of Boe." The Face smiled at me. He knew I was protecting him.
The Doctor nodded and walked to the middle of the room. "Well, there is an easy way of finding out who bought their little pets on board. Let's send him back to master." He placed the spider down on the floor. The spider scurries along to Cassandra and looks up at her. Cassandra glared at it for a moment, but the spider moved to wear the weird robe guys were.
"The Adherents of the Repeated Meme. J'accuse!" Man these aliens were so dramatic. Reminds me of mom's soap opera shows.
"That's all very well, and really kind of obvious, but if you stop and think about it," the Adherents of the Repeated Meme tried to hit the Doctor, but he caught its arm and ripped it off. "A Repeated Meme is just an idea. And that's all they are. An idea. Remote controlled Droids. Nice little cover for the real troublemaker." The Doctor dropped the arm and looked down at the spider. "Go on, Jimbo!" He nudged the spider with his foot, "go home!" The spider hurried over to Cassandra. I grinned, it feels so nice to be right. No wonder Justin was is cocky.
"I bet you were the school swot and never got kissed." The Doctor chuckled at her. She's got a point. He does seem like the kinda guy that was so into school and never had a girlfriend, much like Justin. Ha! I giggled at myself. I'm hilarious. "At arms!" Cassandra yelled and her two bodyguards raised their weapons at us.
"What are you going to do, moisturize me?" The Doctor said in a mocking voice, throwing his arms up.
"With acid." Cassandra gave us an evil grin. The Doctor backed up in front of me and Rose. "Oh, it's too late anyway. My spiders have control of the mainframe. Oh, you all carried them as gifts, tax free, past every code wall. I'm not just a pretty face."
"I wouldn't even call you that." I rolled my eyes, "sabotaging a ship while you're still inside it?I'm not even that stupid." I glared at her, crossing my arms.
"I'd hoped to manufacture a hostage situation with myself as one of the victims. The compensation would have been enormous." Cassandra smiled at us, pleased with herself.
"Five billion years and it still comes down to money." I shook my head at her.
"Do you think it's cheap, looking like this? Flatness costs a fortune. I am the last Human, Doctor. Me. Not that freaky little kid of yours." Cassandra glared at Rose. I looked over at Rose who shrugged at me. Didn't the Doctor say not to start a fight? Eh. I wouldn't have listened to him either.
"Arrest her!" The little blue guy pointed to her. Haha, he's got stubby little arms. Now's not the time to be an ass, Alex. I shook my head, forcing my attention back on Cassandra.
"Oh, shut it, pixie. I've still got my final option."
'Earth Death in three minutes.'
"And here it comes. You're just as useful dead, all of you. I have shares in your rival companies and they'll triple in price as soon as you're dead. My spiders are primed and ready to destroy the safety systems. How did that old Earth song go? 'Burn, baby, burn'."
"Then you'll burn with us." Rose yelled at her.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I know the use of teleportation is strictly forbidden, but I'm such a naughty thing. Spiders, activate. Force fields gone with the planet about to explode. At least it'll be quick. Just like my fifth husband." She laughed at her own joke. I mean who does that? Laughs at their own jokes, that's pretty cocky, if you ask me. "Oh, shame on me. Buh-bye, darlings! Buh-bye, my darlings." She and her bodyguards teleported out.
'Heat levels rising.'
"Reset the computer!" The blue dude screamed. What was he exactly? Why does he always have to comment on everything? He's worse than Justin.
"Only the Steward would know how." Jabes' voice was shaky.
"No. We can do it by hand. There must be a system restore switch. Alex, Jabe, come on. Rose, stay here and make sure everyone chills out." I rolled my eyes at him, 'chills out' HA! That was a good pun.
'Earth Death in two minutes. Earth Death in two minutes.'
We ran through the maintenance corridor, reaching the ventilation chamber.
'Heat levels, critical. Heat levels, critical.'
"Oh and guess where the switch is." The Doctor pointed to the switch, as it was on the other side, blocked off by these huge ass fans.
'Heat levels rising. Heat levels rising.' The Doctor runs over and pulls a lever down and the fans slow down.
'External temperature, five thousand degrees.'
As soon as the Doctor let go of the lever, the fans start to speed up again. Well that's just great. He looked hopelessly at the fans and Jabe pulled the lever down again and held it there.
"You can't. The heat's going to vent through this place." The Doctor shook his head at her.
"I know." She smiled at us.
"Jabe, you're made of wood." I put my hand on her shoulder. I couldn't let her do this. I can just heal myself with my magic. No big deal. "I'm a cunt, but I'm not that much of a cunt. You're not doing this." I pulled Jabe away from the lever. I put my sweatshirt over the metal, then placed my hands on the lever, immediately regretting it. This shit was hot as fuck.
"Stop wasting time. Time Lord." I grinned at the Doctor, who grinned back at me and ran over to the fans.
'Heat levels, rising. Heat levels, rising.... Heat levels, hazardous.'
The Doctor dodged the first fan and ran underneath it. He looked anxiously up at the next one. "Doctor, hurry the fuck up!" I yelled at him. He turned back and gave me a sad look. Hurry up you fucking slow poke.
'Shields malfunctioning. Shields malfunctioning.'
The Doctor went through the second fan, turning to look back at me. "Stop looking at me and hurry up!"
'Heat levels, critical. Heat levels, critical... Heat levels, rising. Heat levels, rising.'
My jacket began to catch on fire and I began to panic. "Before we see this room blow, turn this fire into snow." The snow felt good on my burning hands.
The Doctor made it through the last fan, putting the shields back up. "Raise shields!"
'Exoglass repair. Exoglass repair.'
The Doctor ran back through the fans, over to me. "Are you okay?" I nodded at him and smiled. "Snow?" He picked up a couple flurries in his hand, examining it.
"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow." I sang one of the most common Christmas songs and he laughed at me, throwing his arm over my shoulders. We hurried back to the suite room, I smiled at Jabe, happy that she was still alive.
Jabe hurried over to us, "I owe you my life." She smiled at me and gave me a hug. I jumped just a little, sort of surprised that she hugged me. I though after I called her a bitch, she wouldn't have liked me. Kind of a good thing I didn't give her an elephant trunk. It still would've been funny though...
"Don't worry about it." Rose came over to the Doctor and I and hugged us both. Thank god she's okay. Mickey Mouse would've killed me. I frowned when I noticed the little blue guy was gone. He might've been annoying but he didn't deserve to die.
The Doctor huffed, clearly pissed off that people have died. I slipped my hand into his. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm bursting with ideas. Idea number one, teleportation through five thousand degrees needs some kind of feed. Idea number two, this feed must be hidden nearby." The Doctor dragged me over to some egg lookin' thing, picking it up, "idea number three, if you're as clever as me then a teleportation feed can be reversed." The Doctor picked up the egg and broke it in half, he twisted it, making Cassandra reappear. Oh that Doctor is brilliant.
"Oh you should've seen the look on their little alien faces." Cassandra said beaming away.
I huffed a bit at her, "yo bitch." I waved my arms around, getting her attention. The Doctor pinched my arm and I pouted at him. "Not going to filter myself for your ignorance, pal." He chuckled a bit and rolled his eyes at me.
Her face, or what was left of it, dropped. "Oh. You passed my little test! You can join the uh Human club."
"People have died Cassandra. You murdered them!" I yelled at her.
"It depends on your definition of people, child. And that's enough of a technicality to keep your lawyers busy for centuries. Take me to court, and watch me smile and cry and flutter-"
"And creak." The Doctor smiled at her.
"What?" She asked with a puzzled face, confused on what was happening to her.
"Creak. You're creaking." I said, crossing my arms at Cassandra.
"What? Uh, I'm drying out. Oh sweet heavens! Moisturize me! Moisturize me! Where are my surgeons?" Cassandra went into panic mode and searched the room for her surgeons. "My lovely boys. It's too hot."
"You raised the temperature." The Doctor said backing away from her.
"Have pity! Moisturize me. Oh no, oh Doctor, Alex, I'm sorry. I'll do anything."
Rose walked over to us. "Help her." She whispered. I shook my head, hell no. This cunt deserved it.
"Everything has its time and everything dies." The Doctors said nonchalantly.
"I'm too young!" Cassandra screamed right before she exploded. That was lowkey cool, but also lowkey gross.
The Doctor slipped his hand into mine, staring at her skin laying on the ground. I turned away and waved at the Face, who was giving me a proud smile. I dropped the Doctors hand before walking over to him. I rested my hand on the glass, "when am I going to meet you, twin?"
"You already have, Russo. I'll see you again at the blitz. Till then, inhale the future-"
"And exhale the past. I remember." I smiled at him.
"See ya sucker." And with that, he teleported himself out and I couldn't help but snicker. He's definitely my friend if he goes against the rules and knows my catchphrase.
The Doctor came over to me, offering his hand, which I took, allowing him to hoist me up. Hand in hand, we walked over to Rose, who was staring out the window. "The end of the Earth. It's gone, and we were too busy saving our lives, no one watched it go. All those years, all that history and no one was even looking." I used my other hand, grabbing hers and holding it tight.
"Come with me." The Doctor turned around, heading back to the Tardis.
I sat down on the jump seat, hearing the Doctor programming the Tardis. When we landed he motioned for us to follow him. "You think it'll last forever. People and cars and concrete, but it won't. One day it's gone, even the sky. My planet's gone. It's dead. It burned like the Earth. It's just rocks and dust, before it's time." I looked up at him and bit my lip. I felt sorry for him. I was lucky enough to go back in time and change the fate of all Wizards without causing a paradox. I could never understand the amount of pain this man went through.
"What happened?" Rose asked, looking up at the Doctor.
"There was a war and we lost." The Doctor said looking straight forward, not wanting to have eye contact with either of us.
"A war with who?" Rose asked him. The Doctor didn't answer, didn't really matter if he did, she wouldn't know what they are anyway.
"What about your people?" I asked him and he looked down at me with a sad face. If he survived, maybe some of his people did too. Not going to lie, it's highly unlikely from what dad told me about the war, but still.
"I'm the last Time Lord in existence. They're all gone, I'm the only survivor. I'm left traveling on my own cause there's no one else."
"There's me." I smiled up at him, slipping my hand into his, rubbing my thumb over his knuckles.
"Me too!" Rose playfully shoved me.
"You've seen how dangerous it is. Do you two want to go home?" The question was aimed at both me and Rose, but the Doctor was staring at me.
"I don't know..." Rose shrugged at us.
"Never, ever, goin back home." I stood on my tippy toes, resting my chin on the Doctors shoulder, and he smiled at me. "Hold on. Do you guys smell that? I smell french fries." I grinned. "Come on, let's go! French fries on me!"
"They're chips!" Rose scolded at me.
I grabbed both of their hands and started dragging them in the direction of food. "French fries." I giggled. Rose and I went back and forth for a bit, till we arrived at the restaurant. I sat down at the table with them, eating my french fries. I smiled at the ground, realizing how happy I am. This is going to be good for me. This is the new start I've been looking for.
