My Little Wizard
*Alex's POV*
"So, what's up with all the disappearing stuff you're doing?" Rose sat next to me on the jump seat.
"What do you mean?" I tried playing innocent, but I knew Rose wasn't going to buy it. A person could hope right?
"Alex." Rose raised her eyebrows at me. Well fuck me.
"Ugh fine." I rolled my eyes at Rose. "Can we go to the Powell Estate?" I turned to the Doctor, who nodded in return.
"What are we doing here?" Rose asked as we stepped out of the Tardis. I grabbed her hand, pulling her to the stairs, leading to my door with the Doctor following close behind. I unlocked the door and let them inside. "What's in here?" She looked around my apartment. "This isn't explaining anything, Alex." Rose shook her head at me. Patients my dear.
"Open the freezer door." I nodded to it. Rose gave me a questionable look, but did it.
"I don't see anything. It's just an ordinary freezer, Alex." Rose closed the door, crossing her arms at me.
"Open it again." I smiled at her.
She shifted awkwardly, looking at me and the back to the freezer. I smirked a bit. She couldn't tell if I was fucking with her or not. She opened the freezer door and gasped. "Oh my god."
"Go inside, Rose. It's okay." I smiled at her, motioning for her to go in. She stepped in slowly. I motioned for the Doctor to do the same, he did, with no questions asked.
"What is this place?" Rose stared at me like I had ten heads. I smirked a bit again, knowing that today was completely wild for her.
"It's called a lair." I motioned around the room, "has spells, potions, old books, maybe even a cheeseburger or a goblin." I smiled at Rose, whose face is completely shocked. "I'm a Wizard." I nodded to them.
"No, you're not. You can't be." Rose shook her head at me in disbelief. Um. Yes, I am, thanks for trying though.
I whipped out my wand, pointing it to the small couch I had in here. "Obtuse, rubber goose, green moose, guava juice, giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake!" I looked back at Rose, whose jaw was hanging on the ground. The Doctor was silently laughing and smirking at me. I know, I'm hilarious.
"You look like an ordinary person." What does an ordinary person look like? Everyone's strange in their own ways. "Don't Wizards wear these really big hats and have these long beards?" Rose scrunched up her face. First off, I'm a girl! Why would I have a beard?
I shook my head at Rose, "no, love, only Professor Crumbs did that." I smiled at the thought of him. Man, he really didn't like me. He didn't really like anybody, not even his own grandson, Jack. Justin was the exception though. "But that is a tad bit stereotypical, shame on you."
"Do you have a scar?" I blinked like a deer in headlights at Rose's comment. Did she seriously just ask me that?
"No, Rose, I don't." I shook my head at her. "Can't even believe you'd ask me that." I mumbled, earning an eye roll from her in return.
"You said back there, that you won the Family Wizard Competition?" He was listening to my speech? Awkward. I turned my head and nodded at the Doctor. "How did your siblings take that? From what I know, they usually stop talking to each other over it." Oh, so he's educated on Wizards. Interesting.
I shook my head at him, "not with my family. I'm still close with my brothers. Well, they're both busy now. We don't have as much time to talk as we used too, Justin living in the Wizard World and Max taking over the family business and all."
"Wait. Your brother lives in the Wizard World?" I nodded at the Doctor, "I thought only one sibling could be a full Wizard? If you won, how can your brother live there?" The Doctor looked at me with a surprised look on his face.
"I won the competition, both times actually," remembering when I made my parents forget me. "But when Professor Crumbs retired, he needed someone to take his place. So he made Justin a full Wizard." The Doctor nodded at me as he was understanding.
"There's a Wizard World?" Rose asked with her jaw on the ground. "What's a Family Wizard Competition?"
I smirked a bit, "Yeah." I grabbed her hand, leading her to the portal. I opened it just a crack, "stick your head in there." Rose did as she was told and gasped. "If you look past the mist, you can see buildings and whatever." I rolled my eyes. The Wizard World isn't that interesting, it's basically like our New York.
The Doctor walked over, doing the same. He took his head out and smiled at me, "wow. I've heard rumors of the Wizard World but I never thought they'd actually be true." No one does.
"What's a Family Wizard Competition?" I turned to Rose, who had her head out as well.
I closed the door and sat down on one of the normal couches in here. "Well like he said, there can only be one Family Wizard. Only one Wizard sibling that has proved their worthy and responsible with their powers. Which we all know I didn't prove." I laughed and the Doctor and Rose rolled their eyes at me, what? It's me. Come on. Gotta have as much fun as you can. But why is the Doctor rolling his eyes? What, did he do everything like Justin? The 'correct' way? Ew. Who does that? "It's a magical battle between Wizard siblings to decide who will become the Family Wizard."
"Why did you do it twice?" The Doctor raised his eyebrows at me. I don't... I don't believe that's any of your business, sir.
Actually, I'm in a good mood. "Well, the first time I made my parents forget me. The only way to reverse the spell was for one of us to become a full Wizard. The other time was the actual competition."
"Why would you make your parents forget you?" Rose asked me with her eyebrows raised.
I stared at the ground, playing with my feet. "My mom and I got into a stupid argument and I was holding the family wand and the book of Forbidden Spells, they take things very literally. Saying anything with 'I wish', will come true and I wished that my parents never met." I looked up, seeing Rose messing with potions, "Rose, don't touch that." She rolled her eyes at me and crossed her arms. "Anymore questions?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Rose tilted her head at me. Should've known this question was coming.
"It's against the law to tell anyone." I shrugged at her. "Probably shouldn't even have shown you guys this, but the cat was already out of the bag, thought I might as well."
"But I wouldn't have said anything." Rose sort of glared at me, but it wasn't an angry glare. It was more of that look your parents give you when they know you're lying to em.
"I know you wouldn't have, Rosie. But I sort of had government agents find out before and had my house completely searched and held hostage. Not worth it."
"Wow." Rose nodded, thankfully understanding. This girl really could hold a grudge. "What about Mason? Was he a Wizard?"
I bit my lip, feeling uncomfortable. Rose, Jackie, and Mickey, met Mason when he flew here to try and talk me into getting back with him. It's been a little over a year since we've been broken up, it still stung when anyone said his name. I felt like I was never going to get over him. Actually, no. I am over him. I just hate his guts. Petty, I know. "No. He's a werewolf."
"You know a werewolf?" The Doctor looked at me. He was staring at me in awe, werewolves aren't that big of a deal.
"Don't know why you wouldn't take him back. He was pretty cute." Rose shook her head at me. I shifted awkwardly on my couch. Harper said the same thing. I don't know why I took him back after the first time, I regret it. I knew the whole time we were back together that he still loved Juliet. I just hoped that it wasn't true.
"Anymore questions?" I rubbed my arm, still thinking about Mason. They shook their heads and I stood up, "how long are we going to be gone?" I turned to the Doctor.
"I don't know." He shrugged at me. Well that helps a lot.
I nodded, "well, if it's okay with you, I'd like to bring some emergency Wizard stuff. I won't do anything to the Tardis, it's more of a just in case."
"Of course." He nodded at me. I went over to the bookshelf, grabbing a bag and putting some spell books, the family wand, and the book of Forbidden Spells in the bag. I nodded that I was ready, walking to the door and heading out.
I locked up my apartment, following them down the stairs and back to the Tardis. I set my bag against the railing, sitting down on the jump seat. "Mind if I look around?" The Doctor turned around and looked at me questionably, "I learned about Tardis' in Wiztech, want to see if everything I learned is true and I also like to know my surroundings." I shrugged at him. Can't ever be too careful in a Tardis. They're smart and sneaky, gotta love em though.
"Sure?" The Doctor raised his eyebrows at me. I could tell by his face that he didn't want me poking around, but for some reason he still agreed to it. Kinda surprised he did, might accidentally blow something up, now that'd be awkward.
"What's 'Wiztech'?" Rose raised an eyebrow at me.
"Basically the Harvard for Wizards." I nodded to her. "Don't touch my bag." I said sternly to them and pointed to it. They both nodded and I went wandering down the hallway. I heard Rose screaming a few seconds after I left and I came running back. "What happened? What's going on?" I shook my head as I saw my bag walking around. The Doctor sat down in the jump seat, with his arms up in defense, shaking his head at Rose. "Rose, I told you not to touch it."
"Get me out!" I laughed a bit, seeing she was knee deep in my bag.
I took my wand out from my boot. "Magic was used to protect the bag, reverse the spell, release the hag." I pulled the bag off Rose, shaking my head.
"Your bag tried to eat me!" Rose cried, fixing her now messy hair. "Hag?"
"Well, I told you not to go through it, should've listened. My bag's always hungry." I shook my head at her. I put it back down against the railing, walking back in the direction I went down before.
The Tardis was humming loudly as I slowly roamed her halls. It almost seemed like there was endless rooms. Dad always told me that if Tardis' were real, they were ginormous, but I didn't think they'd be this big. Happy hums were filling my ears. She knows we're connected. She knew the second I came onboard. I ran my hand along the wall, "don't tell the Doctor about my curse, girl. It's a secret. No one must ever know." I hate my curse. It holds me prisoner for being different.
I continued down the halls until I saw two golden doors, which enchanted me to go inside. I ended up in a huge library. It must've had every single book in it. Ew. Books. Justin would kill to see this. There were a couple couches with a fireplace near them. I walked over to the coffee table, seeing a book already there. 'Tale of Two Cities' By Charles Dickens. I put the book back down and looked around. I titled my head at one of the bookshelves. I felt like it was calling out to me. I walked over and ran my hand across it, I picked up one of the books that I was supposed to have read when dad was teaching us, "these are spell books. Wizard History Books for that matter. Why hell does he have these?" I mumbled. Why are they here? I don't even have some of these books, they're old as fuck.
"Cause I like to know about other beings." I turned around to see the Doctor standing there.
I shifted awkwardly with the book in my hand. "Why?"
"Why not?" The Doctor sat down on the couch, putting the book that was on the table into his lap. He opened it and started reading it. I turned back to the shelf, looking to see what other wizard books he has. Dad used to make us read a few of these books. Not that I actually read them, but I still remember Justin and dad raving about them.
I picked one out, 'The Man Who Gave it all Up.' I noticed a picture of my family on the back of the cover. Awe, Jack's even in the picture. I quickly read the back, "this is about dad." I mumbled, tucking my hair behind my ear.
"How is it about your dad?" I jumped a bit, forgetting I wasn't alone.
I walked over to him and showed him the book, "my dad gave up his powers to be with my mom."
"Lots of Wizards have done that."
"Not at the time. No Wizard dreamed of giving up their powers to be with a human. My dad was the first. Plus, that's my entire family." I turned the book around, showing that there was a picture of my family on the back. I shrugged at the Doctor, and sat on the couch across from him, opening up the book to read. I grabbed a blanket and wrapped myself in it, getting comfy as I started reading. 'If only Justin could see me now'.
A few minutes went by and I kept catching the Doctor staring at me. "What? Why do you keep looking at me like that? Something on face?" I rubbed my face and looked back at him.
"No, nothing's there, you just have a funny reading face." Well thanks, asshole. I smiled a bit and rolled my eyes, going back to my dad's book. "How many siblings do you have?"
"Just the two. Justin and Max, I'm the middle child." I smiled into my book.
"You're from America?" I looked up at the Doctor and noticed his book was closed and back to its place on the table.
I closed mine and put it down next to me. "Yeah, I'm from New York." I bit my lip. Should I ask him about the war or would that be an asshole thing to do? Dad always told me that if the legend was true, then it was a dreadful war. So much loss. The Doctor said to the Consciousness that he fought in it, would it be so bad to ask? I mean, I'll understand what he went through, the Cybermen invaded the Wizard World and we went to war.
"You look deep in thought." The Doctor shifted, resting one leg on top of the other. Well, thanks for noticing.
"You're from Gallifrey, right?" I bit my nail, knowing it was a touchy subject.
"Yeah. I'm surprised you know. It's gone now." The Doctor nodded to me.
"I learned about the war from my dad's Wizard training. He thought that it was just an old legend." The Doctor sighed loudly, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up."
I tossed the blanket back to where it was on the couch. I grabbed my dad's book and stood up, "no, no, it's okay. You don't need to leave." The Doctor shook his head at me and I hesitated, but sat back down. "Sorry, it just still..." He wore off, staring at the ground, trying to find the perfect word.
"Still stings?" I smiled at him.
"Yeah." The Doctor continued to stare at the ground. I shouldn't have asked. I hated when Jackie and Rose would pry. It wasn't fair to him. "You made your parents forget you?"
"Yeah, I've screwed up a lot." We laughed a bit. I liked his laugh. His whole face seemed to light up like a Christmas tree.
"How could you possibly screw up? You seem like a smart girl." The Doctor smiled at me. Yeah, tell that to Justin and my parents.
"Not when it comes to magic." I sighed, remembering all of my arguments with Justin. "I've made my brothers disappear, I've been trapped in a horror movie, I told the whole world about wizards, I even created a good and bad version of myself. Imagine that, a bad version of yourself trying to take over the world? Trust me, I've screwed up a lot."
The Doctor's smile got bigger, "you actually made a good and bad version of yourself?"
"Yes!" I laughed as his face was full of shock. "My family kept telling me that I needed to grow up and stop being so immature." I frowned thinking of the argument, "so I did a spell and made all my bad intentions go into a copy of me, who later broke out of the mirror I trapped her in, and tried for world domination."
"Where's your family now? I know your brother is in the Wizard World, but what about your other brother? Your mum and dad?" Oh you Brits, always sayin 'mum'. I like the Doctor's accent though, it's nice.
"Well growing up, my parents owned a family sub station. We all worked there, duh. When Justin and I got to keep our powers, Max was really upset. So my dad gave him the family sub station. Both my parents still work there to keep an eye on Max. Max isn't the smartest person." I snickered a bit, thinking of all the random things Max has come out with.
"They sound great." The Doctor tilted his head at me with a huge grin. Eh, sometimes. "Who's the werewolf? Rose mentioned him earlier."
I shuttered a bit, knowing he was talking about Mason. I wish I had known that this interview was going to be bringing him up. 'This is karma for asking about the war Alex'. "Oh. That's Mason. He's an ex boyfriend from high school."
"Do you still care for him?" The Doctor squinted his eyes at me. Hey. I shut up after you got upset about the war, can't you return the favor? Why does he even care?
I bit my lip, no one's ever asked me that before. Did I still care for Mason? He taught me how to love, that it was okay to have feelings. But he ripped my heart out and stepped on it. I know I've said I hate Mason a thousand times, but did I actually mean it? Or was it just my broken heart talking? Do I still love Mason? I felt my heart start to beat faster at the thought that I might still love him. My blood boiling through my veins at the thought of what he did. I couldn't love Mason. I put him behind me, that's the whole reason I moved here. I refused to love Mason anymore when he told me he'd rather have Juliet. Feeling the lump grow in my throat, I swallowed hard. He's got a little dick anyway. "No." I shook my head at the Doctor.
"He seems to have an impact on you." I chewed on my nail, knowing he was right. I wish Mason didn't have an impact on me. I wish whenever anyone said his name I wouldn't feel like crawling into bed and hiding there until the pain went away. "What happened?"
I don't know if I want to talk about it yet. The only people who know are Justin, Jack, and Harper. That being because Juliet left Justin for Mason. Justin and I don't talk about it much. He went straight into the Wizard World after it happened and I went straight to London. Jack knows because of that fucking night. My parents and Max just know that we broke up, but not why. I looked up from the ground, making eye contact with the Doctor. His eyes told me that he cared. That his hearts were in the right place. You can tell a lot by a person's eyes. "He left me for my brother's vampire girlfriend." The Doctor leaned forward on the couch, resting his elbows on his knees. His eyes slightly widening. Well, no one expects to hear that. The Doctor went to say something, but I didn't want to talk about Mason anymore. "Why did you choose the name 'Doctor'?"
The Doctor leaned back against the couch, "what do you mean?"
"From what my dad's told me, Time Lords get to choose a name. Why did you pick Doctor?"
"Cause it means healer." I nodded, understanding that it was because of the war. "What do you know about Time Lords?"
I knew very little of his people, honestly. But I still don't understand why he has all those Wizard books. "What do you know about Wizards?" I smirked at him. He shook his head at me, knowing the game I'm playing. "All I know about Time Lords is that they look Human, but obviously they're not. They have two hearts and a much bigger brain, that's filled with a shit ton of information." I watched the Doctor roll his eyes, but I continued, "they don't really need sleep as much as Humans do." I paused, "I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that they can regenerate when their body's dying." He nodded at me that I was correct. Wizards can sorta regenerate too, Time Lords are nothin special compared to yours truly. Just kidding, I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing half the time.
"You know quite a lot." The Doctor smiled at me, clearly impressed. He should be. I'm very impressive, if I do say so myself.
"Not really." I shrugged. I rubbed my hand against the lamp desk next me, "I can't believe you actually have a Tardis." I smiled at him.
"Yeah? I stole her." The Doctor laughed at me.
"Don't worry, I'm not a snitch." I laughed at the Doctor, looking around his home. "But seriously, you're lucky. My dad taught us a few things about a Tardis too. They really are beautiful."
The Doctor smiled at me, grinning ear to ear, "glad you think so." A happy hum filled my ears again. She needs to quit almost blowing my cover. 'Shush, I told you, I don't want him to find out about my curse.' Another hum rang through the room and I couldn't help but smile. Tardis' can always keep a secret, but they are rather mischievous. Always making jokes. The Doctor raised an eyebrow at me, "are you guys talking?"
"Possibly."
He stood up, "come on. Let go back to the console and see if Rose is ready."
I honestly forgot about Rose. I thought he would've stayed with her. But at the same time, a weird Wizard girl roaming around your Tardis, I totally see why he followed me. "Where did she go?"
"She just took shower. She wasn't really a fan of what your bag did to her hair." I laughed. That's what she gets for trying to go through my things. "How did you even do that? I didn't hear you say anything."
"A good Wizard never reveals their secrets." He laughed at me as he held the doors open. We walked back to the console laughing about how my bag tried to eat Rose. "Hey, Rose." I smiled at her, seeing her sitting on the jump seat.
"Where are we going?" Rose asked as I sat down next to her.
"Well you tell me. Forwards or backwards in time? It's your choice. What's it going to be?" I smiled a bit. He's really trying to be impressive.
Rose looked at me and I just shrugged. I've seen so much that I don't know if where he's taking us is going to surprise me. "Forwards?"
"How far?"
"A hundred years." Rose blurted out. I giggled a bit, sorta boring Rose.
The Doctor programmed the Tardis. "There ya go! Step outside those doors and it's the twenty second century." He said as he motioned to the door.
"You're kidding." Rosie said with a toothy smile.
"But that's fucking boring, do you mind if we go further?" Rose smirked at my comment. We both turned to the Doctor, waiting for his response.
He smirked back at me. "Fine by me." The Doctor shrugged as he programmed his ship once again. "Ten thousand years into the future. Step outside those doors and it's the year 12005, the new Roman Empire."
"You think you're so impressive." I smirked at him, looking at my nails to make sure I didn't break any.
"Oi! I am so impressive!" He pouted at me. I smiled a bit, not really Doctor. That's me. I'm impressive.
"Maybe in your fantasy, but not in mine." I smirked at him.
"Right then." The Doctor pointed to me. "You asked for it. I know exactly where to go! Hold on!" The Doctor programmed the Tardis yet again, with an evil grin.
The Tardis stopped. "Where are we?" Rose raised both her eyebrows at the Doctor. "What's out here?" Rose asked looking at the door then back to him. He motioned to the door. I shrugged and ran out, not caring that I left Rose. I wanna see where the fuck the Doctor took us.
I looked around, we landed in some room. The Doctor and Rose come out, looking around like I did. I walked over to where a window should be. I tapped on it, putting my ear to it. "What're you doing?" I looked at Rose out of the corner of my eye, to see her standing there with her arms crossed. I took out my wand, tapping it on the barrier. The window cover started to go up and I smiled at them, proud that I didn't screw that up.
The Doctor walked over to me and Rose. "You lot spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible, that maybe you survive. This is the year five point five slash apple slash twenty six. Five billion years in your future and this is the day hold on.." The Doctor paused staring at the window.
"This is the day the sun expands." I mumbled, pressing my hand against the window.
"Yep. Welcome to the end of the world." The Doctor gave us a great big smile. Well then. Is this karma for talking about the war? Well, he wouldn't shut up about Mason, thought we were even for that. Maybe he wanted to show how he feels? I don't know. I'm not a psychiatrist.
'Shuttles five and six now docking. Guests are reminded that platform one forbids the use of weapons, teleportation, and religion. Earth death is scheduled for 15:39, followed by drinks in the Manchester Suite.'
"By guests, does that mean people?" Rose asked as we walked through the halls. Rose, were billions of years in the future, you really think there's only gonna be Humans here? Oh, you poor thing.
"Depends on what you mean by people." The Doctor shrugged to her.
"Well I mean people, what do you mean?"
"Aliens." He shrugged again to her.
"What're they doing on board this spaceship? What's it all for?" Rose asked looking around. We were in a much bigger room, I started looking around. Always check out your surroundings. I walked to the other side of the room as them, checking out the wires and the lack of security this place has, I still listened to everything they were saying.
"Well it's not exactly a spaceship. More like an observation deck. The great and the good are gathering to watch the planet burn." The Doctor said nonchalantly.
"What for?" Rose sounds upset. I am a bit too, but everything has its time. Nothing lasts forever.
"For fun." The Doctor said, raising his eyebrows. "Mind you, when I say the great and the good, what I mean, is the rich."
"But hold on, they did this once on Newsround Extra, the sun expanding. That takes hundreds of years." Rosie said as she walked over to a window.
"No, it takes millions. Somethings been preserving it." The Doctor walked over to her. I dropped my wires and looked at Rose, who looked like she was going to burst into tears. I walked over to them, grabbing her hand tight. I smiled at her, rubbing my thumbs over her knuckles.
"The planet looks the same as ever, I thought the continents shifted and things?" Rose turned her attention back to Earth.
"They did and The Trust, The National Trust that is, shifted them back. The one using the satellites to protect the Earth. That's a classic Earth. But now the money's run out. Nature takes over." The Doctor's eyes widened. I felt Roses hand tense up, I put my head on her shoulder.
"How long has it got?" Rose turned to the Doctor.
"Bout a half an hour, then the planet gets roasted!" The Doctor says with a smile. I took my head off Roses shoulder and glared up at him. The Doctor knows Rose is upset, why be an asshole and be excited about our planet's death?
"Is that why we're here? Is that what you do? Jump in, last minute and save the Earth." Rose gave the Doctor pleading eyes.
"Nothing to save." I shrugged at her.
The Doctor looked down at Rose, "not this time, not today. Times up, the universe moves on." He shrugged.
I frowned out the window. "What about all the people? They'll all die. You're just going to let them die?" Rose pressed her hands against the glass. She snapped her head to me, "Alex, there has to be something you can do. Beam us down to Earth with your wand or something."
"First off, I'm not beaming anybody anywhere." I glared at her, "Rose, the planet's empty. No one's there anymore, all gone."
"Just me now. No mum, no Mickey. No Shareen. Just me."
Um rude. "Are you forgetting somebody?" I threw my arms up in the air with my eyebrows raised.
"You're not Human. You're a Wizard, Alex." Rose shook her head at me.
"Um excuse you, I'm part Human. My dads a Wizard and my mom's Human. Wizards are people too ya know!" I crossed my arms at Rose. How freakin rude. Every Human's the same...
"Who the hell are you?" This blue alien says to us, rather rudely. What an asshole.
"We're guests. And who might you be?" I put my hands on my hips, walking over to the little rude blue man.
"I'm the Stewart. How did you get in? This is a maximum hospitality zone. The guests have disembarked. They're on their way any second now."
"Like I said we are guests. My name's Alex Russo, that's the Doctor, and that's Rose Tyler." I pointed at them with my other arm. Leaving my hand on my waist, I pointed my finger at the man. "Simplify your mind, leave that thought behind." I mumbled and tucked my hair behind my ear, hoping the Stewart didn't catch my spell.
"If you're on board then we'd better start. Enjoy." The blue man walked away, heading towards a stand.
"Why did he back off? What spell did you use? You know you could've been caught?" Rose hurried over to me.
"Rose." I rolled my eyes at her.
Rose ignored me and carried right on. "That was too close, Alex, you need to be more careful."
"Rose, shut up." I said sternly to her.
"But seriously how'd you do that? What did you make him think? Is magic that easy?" Rose continued to question me.
I rolled my eyes, not wanting to deal with her. As much as Rose hates to admit it, she's exactly like Jackie. And right now, I just don't have the time for it. I took my wand out of my boot and pointed it at her. "This is no longer cute, put her voice on mute."
Rose tried to continue to talk, her lips were moving, but nothing was coming out. She gasped and put her hand over her mouth. She gave me a death stare. "Wow. Rose, in the few months I've known you, this is the quietest you've ever been." I smirked at her, the Doctor snickered a bit, but stopped once Rose gave him a glare. She started mouthing her words and I read her lips, reading them out loud like the asshole I am. "Put." I paused, "my." I paused again, "voice." Another pause, "back." I grinned at Rose, "ooo sorry, Rose. Don't know that last word you just said. Can't help ya!"
The Stewart started talking again. "We have in attendance Alex Russo, the Doctor, and Rose Tyler. Thank you!"
Rose gave me a pleading look, "ugh fine. But I swear if you start babbling on about my magic then you're going back on mute." She nodded at me, giving me puppy eyes. I took out my wand and reversed the blessed curse.
"Oh, I'm so thankful I can talk again!" Rose smiled at us.
"You might be, but we're not." I motioned my hand between me and the Doctor. Rose rolled her eyes at me and turned her attention back to the Stewart. God, I love annoying her. Makes me so happy.
"All staff to your positions. Hurry now! Quick as you can! Come along come along." The Stewart said as he ushered these really small blue people along. "And now might I introduce our next honored guest. Representing the Forest of Cheam, we have trees, namely, Jabe, Lute, and Coffa. There will be an exchange of gifts representing peace. If you could keep the room circulating, thank you." The Stewart did a circle with his arm. "Next, from the Solicitors Jolco and Jolco, we have Moxx of Balhoon."
The trees made their way over to us. "The gift of peace. I give you a cutting of my grandfather." Jabe handed me a little tree.
"Oh, uh. Right! Gifts!" The Doctor says, patting down his jacket. He gave Rose and I a pleading look. Well I'm broke, don't look at me.
"Beam us up some gifts Alex!" Rose whispered to me, smiling at the trees.
"I can't when they're right in front of us!" I whisper/yelled back.
"The gift of peace, air from my lungs." The Doctor breathed in their faces. I covered my mouth with my hand, fighting back the giggles.
"How... Intimate." Jabe blushed, eyeing the Doctor up a bit. A giggle seeped through my hand and Jabe smiled at me.
"There's more where that came from." The Doctor winked at her.
"I bet there is." Jabe smiled at him.
The trees walked away and I turned to the Doctor with my jaw on the floor. I nudged him with my elbow, "ooo Doctor's got himself a girl." He shook his head at me, "be careful when you're kissing her, don't want a splinter." Rose snorted, biting her nail and I just continued to giggle.
Our attention went back to the Stewart. "From the Silver Devastation. The sponsor of the main event! Please welcome the Face of Boe!" A big tank with a huge head came in. The Face stared at me and I raised an eyebrow at him. Didn't his mother teach him that staring is rude?
"Hello Alexandra." I looked around the room, trying to figure out who the hell was talking to me. Who the fuck?
"Did you guys hear that?" I looked at the Doctor and Rose.
"Yeah, the Stewart announced the next guest." Rose smiled at me, nodding to these people walking in wearing dark robes.
"Over here." I looked straight ahead and the Face of Boe was staring at me.
"Is that you?" I squinted my eyes at him.
"Who are you talking to?" Rose turned her head to stare at me. I looked up and saw the Doctor staring down at me too, giving me a questionable look.
"Yes it's me, Russo. They can't hear me, I'm only speaking to you." I shifted a bit, rubbing my hand against my arm.
"Oh I get it! Telepathic!" I laughed as I figured it out. Rose gave me a weird look, but I didn't care. I was far more excited that I knew the answer to the weirdness.
"The Moxx of Balhoon!" The Doctor exclaimed as he was grinning ear to ear.
I turned my attention back to the Face, I shifted awkwardly, not liking that he knew who I was, when I didn't recognize him. And I know I didn't just 'forget'. Who the fuck forgets a giant face in a huge ass tank? I walked over to the Face, "who are you and how do you know who I am?"
"Oh you know me, Russo. We will meet again soon. The three of you are old friends of mine." I think he was smiling at me? Why does that nickname sound so familiar?
"Then why didn't you talk to them too? Why only me?"
"Because you're my twin, Alexandra." I snorted, I don't have a twin. Well, there's Jack, but Jack isn't a huge face in a huge tank. Hang on, should I be offended? I am not a giant fucking face! Is he making fun of my big head?
"If you're my twin, then you should know I hate being called Alexandra."
"Which is why I call you Alexandra. My little Wizard, you must be brave. The universe might be taken over if you are not. You have to protect him from the big Bad Wolf." His eyes were no longer lingering on me, but the Doctor. "You're the most powerful Wizard, you're meant to save the universe."
"How do you know that?" The Face smiled at me, I rolled my eyes, realizing he's not going to tell me. "Why me? Why do I have to protect him? He seems to be protecting everyone else."
"As you know, Russo, you've got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love."
"What are you talking about? Are you talking about Mason? I don't love him anymore..." I bit my lip, not even believing myself.
"Time will answer your own question, Alexandra. For now, inhale the future and exhale the past my little Wizard."
I knelt down and put my hand against the glass. "Well if you know I don't see why you won't just tell me now?" The Face rolled his eyes at me and I heard him laughing in my head. "Ugh, I hate waiting." He smiled behind me and I turned around, seeing the Doctor there.
The Doctor put his hand on my shoulder, "Rose ran out, help me find her?" I smiled and nodded at him.
I placed my hand on the Face's glass once more, "go, Alexandra. Save everyone, like you were always meant too."
I smiled at the Face, standing up, and grabbing the Doctor's hand. "You two seem to have a close bond."
I smiled at the Doctor, "more than a close bond, Doctor, he's my twin."
The Doctor snapped his head in my direction, giving me a weird look. Before he could ask about the twin thing, Jabe ran up to us. "Doctor? Alex?" She took a picture of us and we ran out after Rose. Why exactly did she take our picture? Weirdos are here, man. Fucking weirdos.
'Would the owner of the blue box in private gallery fifteen please report to the steward's office immediately. Guests are reminded that use of all teleportation devices is strictly forbidden under Peace Treaty five point four slash sixteen. Thank you.'
"Yeah it's not a teleportation device mate." I snickered at the Doctor, knowing he was pissed off that they misjudged his Tardis.
"While you go handle whatever that is, I'll look for Rose?"
He smiled at me, "and don't go wandering off."
I stuck up my finger, "rule number one, always tell the Doctor where you're off too." I giggled at him. "Plus, I already checked my surroundings, so no wandering off from me." He chuckled a bit, walking off to the Stewart's office.
I walked into a room, seeing Rose sitting on the steps talking to a planet. I hid by the door, silently giggling. "Hello. My name's Rose. That's a sort of plant. We might be related?"
I took out my wand, pointing it at Rose. "Rose is talking to a plant, send the plant on a rant."
She put down the plant. "I'm talking to a twig."
"Who you callin a twig?" The plant said to her angrily. Rose screamed and dropped the plant. "Ow lady! That hurt ya know."
I burst out laughing and walked closer to her. "Sucker."
"Seriously Alex?" Rose shoved my shoulder playfully.
I bent down and picked up the plant. "Sorry man, she's not used to talking plants. Alex Russo by the way, the girl that screamed and dropped you's called Rose Tyler."
"Nice to meet ya Russo, Tyler." I frowned, remembering that was Jack's nickname for me. But the Face was also calling me Russo, maybe it's just catching on? I don't know, but that's Jack's nickname for me, it felt a little weird for the plant to call me that. Not the Face though, strange. "Why is she so scared of a talkin plant? I'm just like you guys!"
"Dude, you're a talking plant and she's Human from the twenty first century, cut her some slack." Rose shoved me playfully again, making me laugh.
I heard some sort of buzzing going off and I turned around to see the Doctor coming in. "Aye aye girls!" The Doctor smiled at us.
"Who dat?" The plant asked, I turned him around so he could get a good look at the Doctor. I giggled at the Doctor's face. He was surprised to hear someone else's voice. "Like your jacket."
"Thank you?" The Doctor questioned, sending Rose and I into giggles at his awkwardness.
"Aye yo, Russo, make me normal again. I'm not really a people person. All y'all do is dig and plant, dig and plant." Well, he's got a point. I blew on the plant, granting his wish of going back to his old self.
"What do you think then?" The Doctor sat down on the other side of the stairs as me and Rose. I smirked, knowing he just wanted to hear us say how much we loved it here.
"Great. Yeah fine. Once you get past all the aliens." Rose shrugged.
The Doctor looked at me, waiting for an answer, "it's nice." I wouldn't give him the satisfaction to bloat about how much I loved this trip so far.
"They're just so alien. The aliens are so alien. You look at em and they're alien." Rose shook her head, staring at the ground. I knew she was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that the Earth was dying.
"Good thing I didn't take you to the Deep South." I burst out laughing and the Doctor joined me. The Doctor's right though, if Rose was having an issue being here, she definitely couldn't handle the South.
"Where are you from?" Rose asked with her face all scrunched up. I shifted a bit, knowing that was a sensitive topic for him.
"I'm from all over the place." I sent the Doctor a sad smile, which he returned.
Rose looked up at him, "they all speak English? I imagined them speaking in different languages, but it's all English."
The Doctor went to talk, but I threw my hands up at him, so he stopped. He raised his eyebrows at me questionably, but I smiled widely at him. "Wait! I know this one! We just hear English. It's a gift of his Tardis." I pointed to the Doctor. "The telepathic field, gets inside your brain and translates." The Doctor nodded, confirming I was right. "Yes!" I danced in my spot on the staircase, giggling. I wish Justin was here. He would've been proud that I knew that.
Rose's eyes flickered from me, to the Doctor, "it's inside my brain?" Not 'it' Rose, 'she'. Who the hell likes to be called 'it'? No one.
"Well yeah, in a good way." The Doctor smiled at Rose.
"Your machine gets inside my head? It gets inside and it changes my mind and you didn't even ask?" Rose's voice started to get louder. I looked back at him, raising my eyebrows, 'what the fuck has gotten into her'?
"Well, I didn't think about it like that." The Doctor's smile quickly fades, as Rose gets more angry.
"No, you were too busy makin cheap shots about the Deep South! Who are you then Doctor? What're you called? What sort of alien are you?" I looked between the both of them, feeling a bit awkward.
"I'm just the Doctor." He said as he sat up, looking out the window, and avoiding Rose's gaze.
"From what planet? What planet are you from?" Rose continued to argue with him. I scooted over a bit closer to him. I put my hand in his and smiled at him. I knew he needed the comfort of Rose interrogating him. When I brought up Gallifrey before, his mood completely dropped. It's honestly probably worse now, since Rose doesn't know how to stop.
"Rose, shut up!" I yelled at her, "his name's the Doctor, what more do you need to know about him? He was nice enough to take us on a trip, don't give him shit, Rose." I shook my head at her, "if you continue on I'll put you on mute again." I sent the Doctors hand a squeeze. "Besides, if he wanted to talk to us about it, he would." By the look in Roses eyes, I could tell she wasn't done arguing with him. I heard the Doctor sigh, I felt sorry for him.
"And where are you from, Alex? How did you get from the Wizard World to here?" Did Rose not see my portal? I literally stuck her head inside. "Why are there Wizards on Earth? How many are the planet? Are they invading?" Rose turned the argument to me. Honestly, I'd rather have Rose argue with me than the Doctor about our homes. He's too sensitive for that topic, understandably. The Doctor was squeezing my hand and I started to run my thumb over his knuckles, trying to keep him calm.
I scrunched up my face, "where's all this coming from? You literally saw my portal!" I shook my head at Rose.
"Do you know where he's from?" Rose crossed her arms at me. I felt the Doctor twitch. Well yes I do, but I ain't a snitch. I'm not saying shit.
"No I don't, Rose." I shook my head at her. The Doctors hand relaxed a bit. Rose is too much like Jackie sometimes.
"Liar. I know you do." Rose continued to press. Oh shut up, you blonde. Go bother Mickey Mouse.
"I don't, Rose, sorry." I growled at her. Just drop it, Rose, jesus. Why do people continue on about shit that should clearly never be spoken about?
Rose turned back to the Doctor and I rolled my eyes. "Where are you from? Why won't you tell me where you're from?" Because he doesn't have to? I rolled my eyes a bit, Rose can be way too overbearing sometimes.
"Well it's not exactly like you'll know where it is!" I shook my head, not liking how Rose is doing a whole police investigation on this man.
"Where are you from?" Rose continued to yell at the Doctor. "Tell me who you are!"
"This is who I am, right here, right now, all right? All that counts is here and now, and this is me." The Doctor yelled back at her. I was still holding his hand, which was tensed up again. I continued rubbing my thumb over his knuckles, trying to calm him down, but I don't think it was working too well.
"Yeah and I'm here too cause you brought me here so just tell me." Rose continued to push. The Doctor stared blankly at her. I could see the hurt in his eyes, surely Rose could see it too.
Rose went to open her mouth again, "Rose, ask him again and I'll turn you into a sheep and shave you. I'll make a nice coat out of your fur." I saw out of the corner of my eye, the corners of the Doctors lips twitching. I knew he was trying not to laugh.
Rose stared at me with a blank expression, "you wouldn't." Oh girl, we all know I would. I took my wand out of my boot, aiming it at her. Try me, bitch. Rose huffed and turned away. The Doctor squeezed my wand, making me look at him, 'thank you', he mouthed to me. No prob man. 'Got you'. I mouthed back to the Doctor and he gave me a sad smile. I swear, if he brings up Mason again, I'm gonna use this as a way out of that conversation.
'Earth Death in twenty minutes. Earth Death in twenty minutes.'
After a few moments, Rose turned back around and walked over to us. "Alright. As my mate Shareen says, don't argue with the designated driver." I watched out of the corner of my eye, seeing the Doctor's shoulder's moving, I knew he was laughing a bit. Rose took out her phone. "Can't exactly call for a taxi, there's no signal. We're out of range. Just a bit!"
The Doctor dropped my hand and snatched Roses phone out of her hands. "Tell you what. With a little bit of jiggery pokery." I shifted closer to the Doctor, watching as he took the back off Roses phone and replaced it with a new battery.
"Is that a technical term, 'jiggery pokery'?" Rose asked, her face all scrunched up.
"Yeah, I came first in jiggery pokery, what about you?" The Doctor playfully shoved me a little.
I snickered a bit. "Nah, I failed hullabaloo." The Doctor beamed over at me. I like it when he smiles, he actually seems happy when he does. He's lucky.
"It's alright, I failed hullabaloo too. It was really hard." I giggled at him. "There you go." The Doctor handed Rose back her phone, she took it and looked at him uncertainly. She dialed a number and I heard Jackie in the background. "Do you want to call anyone?" I looked back at the Doctor. My family's too busy for a call out of the blue. They'd think I was dying since it's not a holiday or anyone's birthday.
"No, it's okay, they're far too busy for me." I smiled up at him, but he frowned at me. It's the truth, they were too busy for me. They have their own lives and so did I. "Besides, I've already done the same thing to my phone. Plus, I can make calls on my wand as well. I'm good." I sent the Doctor another smile, who was still frowning at me.
Rose hung up the phone and walked back over to us, frowning. "That was five billion years ago. She's dead now. Five billion years later, my mum's dead." Well no shit. Jackie's one hundred percent Human, do you expect a Human to live forever? No? Didn't think so. Is now not the time to be an ass?
"Well, that was deep as fuck." I watched as the Doctor rolled his eyes at me and I burst out laughing, making Rose and the Doctor chime in. While we were laughing, the space station started violently shaking. The Doctor grabbed me and pulled me to him, noticing that I was about to roll over off the stairs. I bit my lip, feeling myself blush a bit. He smells really damn nice.
The shaking stopped after a moment and I looked up at the Doctor, who had a huge grin on his face. "That's not supposed to happen." So then why exactly are you grinning about that? This man seemed to be crazier than I am.
