I Love Her.

*The Doctors POV*

I was under the grated floor, messing around with Tardis' wires. Her lights started flashing like crazy and I popped my head out, rubbing my hand against the floor, "what's the matter?" Should I not have put those wires together? She never gets upset when I mess with her wires. I got out from the grated floor, "what is it?" The lights flashed down the hallway and I followed them. It hit me that the lights were leading me towards Alexs room and I dashed to her room. "Alex?" I heard her coughing in the bathroom and I hurried to the door, throwing it open.

Alex had her head in the toilet, vomiting. I pulled her hair out of her face and rubbed her back, trying to soothe her. Alex finally finished and leaned back against me, I put my hand to her forehead, "you don't have a fever." She pulled away from me and started brushing her teeth. I kissed her hair, waiting for her to finish.

Alex washed off her tooth brush, "maybe I ate something bad?"

"Maybe." I shrugged to Alex. I checked my watch, 1 AM, "well, happy birthday, sweetheart."

Alex gave me a look and I chuckled, "yeah, happy birthday to me."

"Come on, let me get you to bed." I grabbed Alexs hand, bringing her to bed.

I took off my shoes and jacket, getting into bed with her. "Doctor, you can go back to the console, it's alright. I'm honestly feeling a lot better." Alex laid down and I wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into my side. "What if I wake up and throw up on you? Ew Doctor, it's okay."

"Shut up, Lex." I rolled my eyes at her. If Alex vomited on me, I'd be more worried if she was alright.

Alex sat up, leaning on her elbows, "since when do you call me Lex?" Alex raised her eyebrows at me.

"I think it suits you." I shrugged. "It's cute." Honestly, when I heard Mickey call Alex, 'Lex', I thought it was the cutest thing ever. Whether she likes it or not, she's stuck with it now.

"Say it again." Alex smirked.

"Lex." Alex giggled, "Lex." She burst out laughing, "what's so funny?"

"You say it funny." Alex said between laughs.

"Oh hush, Lexi." I playfully shoved Alex. "You seem to be feeling better though."

Alex raised her eyebrows at me and I burst out laughing. "Oh shut it, Doc." I rolled my eyes at Alex and pulled her close again. "I told you I was before! Got whatever the hell that was out of my system, I'm good now."

I pulled Alex closer to me, "doesn't mean I'm leaving." She rolled her eyes at me, but snuggled into my chest. I kissed her hair, "come on sweetheart, you need sleep. Gotta big day ahead of us."

Alex picked her head off my chest, staring at me wide eyed, "don't even tell me that we're going to my house."

"Okay." I shrugged, giving Lex a grin. She gave me a look, "what? You told me not to tell you."

"Is that what you, Justin, and Jack were talking about yesterday? You agreed to that?" Alex pouted at me and I chuckled. "Why!? I hate my birthday. I really don't want to do anything, can't we just not go?"

"No. We're going, sweetheart." I laughed at Alex, "besides, Jack wants to see your parents. He seems excited, it's his birthday too, Lex."

"Fine. But I'm going for Jack." Alex rolled her eyes at me.

"Why do you hate your birthday so much? It's a special day." I tucked a stray hair behind Alexs ear.

"Cause it's stupid! Wow I'm one year older, who the fuck cares?" I rolled my eyes at Alex. "I just wanna be left alone and have a nice and peaceful day."

"It will be a nice and peaceful day." I ran a hand through Alexs hair, "after we go to your parents, we can spend the rest of the day doing whatever you wanna do."

Alex raised her eyebrows at me, "you do realize we'll probably be there all day right?" I shrugged, I did. But I wasn't going to tell Lex that. Alex groaned miserably and put her face in my neck, "this is gonna suck." I laughed and played with the ends of her hair, trying to get Alex to go to sleep.

I ended up falling asleep before Lex, I honestly didn't know when she went to sleep. I ran a hand through her hair, seeing Alex was still asleep. I gently pulled away from her, getting out of bed.

I walked into the kitchen and took out some bread, putting it on the stove. Alex loves her french toast. "Who the hell is letting you cook?" I turned around, seeing Alex leaning against the doorframe.

"What? My cooking's not that bad." I laughed and turned the french toast over. Alex walked over to me, leaning against the cabinets, and raising her eyebrows at me, "what? It's not!"

"Yes it is." Alex laughed at me.

"Oh hush." I playfully hip checked Lex. "can't I just do something nice for you without you making fun of my cooking?"

"No." Lex giggled at me.

I pulled her to me, "I am a good cook!"

"In your dreams, Doctor." Alex continued to laugh at me, "a five year old could cook better than you." I pulled away from Alex, pouting as I walked over to the stove. I am too a good cook! Alexs tastebuds are just weird. I heard Alex giggled and the music I was playing became louder. Frank Sinatra, 'Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You'.

I looked over at Alex and continued pouting. "You're just too good to be true, I can't take my eyes off you, you'd be like heaven to touch."

Alex poked my cheek, "I wanna hold you so much." She pulled me away from the stove, trying to get me to dance with her. She made fun of my cooking! I know deep down my cooking is bad, but still! Don't be mean about it.

"At long last love has arrived, and I thank god I'm alive, you're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off you."

Alex started to dance around the kitchen as the beat picked up, "you're not going to make me dance alone are you?"

I grinned, never sweetheart. I quickly wrapped an arm around Lexs waist and grabbed her hand, dancing around the kitchen. Alex continued singing her heart out as I spun her around the kitchen. The smile on her face, the gleaming in her eyes, made my hearts flutter. I grinned madly, how could I not have noticed this feeling Alex gives me? The day I met Alex, my entire life changed. I wasn't some sad bloke who destroyed his planet anymore. I feel as if Alex changed me, without even trying. I love her. I really do. More and more everyday. I don't know how or why it took me so long to notice, but I love Alex.

To me, love isn't a word, a soft romantic verse, or someone who's hiding behind a computer screen. Love is complete passion for each other. Never doubting, promises made, intimacy, and warmth. When I think of the word love, I think of Alex. I picture her smiling when she's really excited about something. Like when I agreed to go to Loch Ness with her, seeing Alex smile was like a child in a candy store. I picture her laughing her ass off at me as I fail miserably to cook. I picture Alex being a sarcastic ass when someone says something so unbelievably stupid. I picture her playfully glaring at me when I call her Lexi. I picture myself waking up next to her, every single morning. I picture her getting annoyed with me because I woke her up, fully aware she's not a morning person. I love Alex.

"I love you baby
And if it's quite all right
I need you baby
To warm the lonely nights," I twirled Alex around the kitchen, grinning madly as she continued to sing with a huge smile.
"I love you baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh pretty baby
Don't bring me down I pray
Oh pretty baby
Now that I've found you stay
Oh pretty baby
Trust in me when I say," I felt like my hearts were going to burst out of my chest, I loved hearing Lex sing. Even if she was just humming while doing her makeup, it still sounded wonderful. I dipped Alex, earning a giggle, she put her hand on my cheek, "and let me love you baby, let me love you." My hearts were about to burst. Is Alex saying she loves me or is she just singing the song? I leaned down, kissing her gently. She squealed and tightened her arms around my neck, "if you drop me, I'm so murdering you." I laughed, pulling her back up, "I'm gonna go say happy birthday to Jack." Lex kissed my cheek and hopped out of the room, heading down the hallway to Jacks room.

I put the french toast on a plate for Alex. I titled my head, staring at the toast. I picked up a piece of french toast, trying a bite. I quickly spit it out on the ground. Well, this is definitely the last time I'm making french toast. Alex came skipping back in, giving me a huge smile. Not going to lie, sorta scaring me a bit, "you okay love?" I know that grin. She's definitely up to something.

Alexs grin got bigger, "I went to Jacks room and he wasn't there."

"Okay?" I shrugged. Might've went to the Tardis' gym. He's been going a lot.

"So I went to Roses room and guess who was passed out next to her." Alex laughed, "Jack! They slept in the same bed last night!" Alex continued to laugh and made her eyebrows dance. I mean, good for him. Didn't think Rose and Mickey we're breaking up anytime soon. "Speaking of the devil." Alex ran over to Jack, crushing him in a hug, "happy birthday, Harkness."

Jack yawned, taking two coffee mugs out of the cabinet, "thanks." He shrugged, "I know better then to say it to you." I chuckled, he's right.

"Happy birthday, Jack." I nodded to him.

He laughed a bit, "thank you."

Alex sat down at the table, eating the french toast. Honestly what a saint, I can't even eat my own cooking. "How'd it go with Rose?" Alex titled her head at Jack.

"Fine." Jack shrugged, pouring himself a cup of coffee, and filling the other mug up, I'm assuming for Rose.

"Is Roses bed comfy?" Alex said nonchalantly as she continued to eat her french toast. Oh Lex...

"Yeah." Jack smiled a bit and walked out of the kitchen, walking in the direction of Roses room. Alex raised her eyebrows, staring at the empty doorway. Jack appeared a few seconds later, with his eyebrows raised. Alex titled at her head at him, giving him a big smile. They really do have a brother-sister relationship. They live to tease each other. "You know, a couple days ago when I told you I had feelings for Rose, your comforter kept moving, what was goin on down there, Russo?"

I felt my cheeks heat up, "well, you know me Jack. I don't kiss and tell." Alex shook her head at Jack.

"Yeah, but which lips was he kissing?" Jack titled his head at Alex as he took a sip of his coffee.

"The good ones." Alex smirked and I turned back to the stove, feeling my face beet red. Jack laughed a bit and shook his head, walking back to Roses room. I heard Alex snickering and I looked over at her, "you good over there, Doctor?"

"You're really something else, Lex." I shook my head at her and cleaned up the kitchen.

"I actually have to go and talk to Jack real quick, you good in here, love?" I nodded and Alex skipped out of the room, towards Roses room.

I finished cleaning up the kitchen and walked back to the console. What was Alex doing? She did say 'real quick', it's been an hour. She keeps disappearing with Jack. I'm not jealous, more curious.

I walked down the hallway towards Roses room, seeing Rose standing outside her room again. "If I could go back I'd do it all over, with you again."

Rose spotted me and banged on the door again, "Alex!" Alex ran out of the room and saw me.

"Hi love!" I could tell by Alexs voice she was startled.

"What were you doing? You said you'd be quick." Alex raised an eyebrow at me, "just missed you." Alex shifted awkwardly and I could tell something was up. I didn't push it though. "Hurry up and go get ready. Justin will be here soon." Alex groaned miserably and walked back to her room. I turned to Rose with an eyebrow raised and she dashed into her room. Is it something I said?

I walked back to the console, Rose and Jack greeting me a few moments later. I smirked at the two, Alex would probably pass out if she saw them right now. Holding hands and lookin sorta nice. "Where's Russo?" Jack titled his head at me.

"Just getting changed, she should be out soon." I looked at Jack and his interlocked fingers with Rose and gave him a smirk. Jack returned the smirk, sending me a wink.

The wind picked up in Tardis and the three of us looked over, seeing Justin standing by the Tardis' doors. "Happy birthday, Jack." Justin walked over and gave him a quick a hug.

"Thanks, Justin." Jack grinned.

I felt tiny arms wrap around my neck, "you ready?" I titled my head at Lex, who just shrugged in return.

I moved away and programmed the Tardis to the Russo household, "you should park the Tardis in my room. Don't want Max touching her." Alex nodded to me. Smart.

Justin walked over to Alex, giving her a hug, "happy birthday, Alex." Alex rolled her eyes but hugged him back. She really does hates her birthday doesn't she?

The engines stopped and we piled out. Wow. Alexs room at her parents house was totally different then her room on the Tardis. More girly. Alex grabbed my hand, dragging me down the stairs. "Momma, dad, I'm home." Jack yelled and jumped into their arms.

"Hey! How come I don't get any of that?" Alex crossed her arms at her parents. Jack grabbed Alexs arm, pulling her into their hug.

"Happy twenty fifth birthday!" Alexs mum grinned and hugged the two tighter.

"Hold on, we're twenty four." Alex raised an eyebrow at her mum.

"No you're twenty five. You weren't on Earth for a whole year remember?" Alexs dad said in a 'duh' voice.

"Well, we're gonna say I'm twenty four." Alex said sarcastically to her dad. "Okay that's enough of that." Alex backed away towards me. I chuckled a bit, Alex hates lovey dovey moments from anyone. Sometimes even me, but I never care. Gotta annoy Lex.

Alexs mum came over to me, giving me a tight hug, "hey Doctor. Good to see you."

"Hello Mrs. Russo." I laughed and hugged her back.

She pulled away from the hug like I offended her, "do I look old to you? Just call me Teresa." I laughed a bit, least her mum likes me. "I made your favorite dinners, fried chicken and chicken and rice." Alexs mum grinned. She stood on her tippy toes, whispering in my ear, "Alex told me you love bananas, so I made you frosted banana bars." I grinned, oh yes. Bananas are good.

"Thanks momma!" Jack said happily. Compared to seeing Jack with Crumbs, he does seem happier with Alexs family. Don't blame him, I would be too if I was in his spot. Jack grabbed Roses arm and tugged her in front of him, "this is Rose."

"They've met, Harkness." Alex laughed at Jack. "You would've known if you went to Justin's ceremony."

"Well I was busy getting my memories stolen!" Jack stuck his tongue out at Alex, playfully.

"Jake!" We turned around and saw Max coming through the front door. "Happy birthday man."

"Max, it's Jack." Alex shook her head at Max.

"No I don't think so. His names Jake, right buddy?" Max patted Jack on the shoulder, "happy birthday, Lexi." Max walked past us, taking some of the chips that were on the table.

"You let him call you Lexi?" Rose scrunched up her face.

"No, but he's such an idiot he won't remember if I correct him." Alex shrugged, I chuckled, oh Max.

Rose and Jack sat down at the table, talking amongst themselves. I looked at Justin, who was staring at them. Must be a little awkward for him.

Alex and I began talking to her mum, "Alex." Alex hummed in response, flipping through a magazine. "Is that the same Rose that Justin and Professor Crumbs told us about?"

"Possibly." Alex said bluntly, flipping through her magazine and not looking up. "Put the spatula down mom." I chuckled, she didn't even have to look up to know what her mother was up to. Like mother like daughter.

We sat down at the table and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. Alexs mum and dad were telling me these hilarious stories about Alex. "Seriously! Alex pulled a seventeen! One time she didn't even bowl in the right direction!"

"No she didn't!" I laughed and tossed my arm over Alexs shoulder.

"I was trying to knock people down the snack bar line, it was too long." Alex pouted at us. God I loved when she'd get annoyed over her parents embarrassing her.

"Nothing beats when Alex and Jack chugged am entire beaker of hydrochloric acid in chem." Justin rolled his eyes.

"Oh that was so much fun! We turned green." Lex giggled. How the hell did they turn green? Hydrochloric acid causes internal bleeding!?

"I still think the funniest story was when you guys almost got shot." Max laughed, I watched as Justin, Jack, and Alexs face fell, raising eyebrows at Max.

"Max, there was nothing funny about that story. We literally stared death in the face." Justin rolled his eyes, drinking more of his beer.

"Yeah we stared death in the face and said fuck you!" Alex yelled and Jack burst out laughing. "Ah memories."

"That's not funny! We were so worried about you." Alexs mum wrapped her arms around Jacks neck.

"Yes mother, we wonder who you were worried about the most." Alex laughed, taking a sip of her beer. Alexs mum gave her a playful glare, but continued to hug Jack.

"What was this fuck you to death experience then?" Rose titled her head at Jack, Justin, and Alex.

"Oh, just the time Alex blew the Mafia to bits." Jack said nonchalantly and took some more chips. Rose and I leaned forward, waiting for the story. "Were you expecting to hear it for something?" Jack raised his eyebrows at us. Well duh! "Too bad, I don't feel like telling it."

"Huh, Jack missing out on a chance to bloat." Alex threw a chip at him and to her surprise, he caught it in his mouth. "Well you see, the wizard Mafia is a bunch of pissed off assholes who lost the family wizard competition, and they take their anger out on everyone else. So Justin, Jack and I were in the wizard world, Jack and I were completely drunk off our asses." Alex giggled. "Justin was chaperoning."

"And we saw some guy get stabbed to death." Jack nodded. "Thank god Justin wasn't drunk. He dragged us into some ally but the dudes saw us and came down the ally."

"Thought you didn't want to tell the story?" Alex raised her eyebrows at Jack.

Jack laughed and took another sip of his beer, "then the guy started screaming at us and apparently I was yelling back at him? At least that's what Justin tells me." Jack shrugged, "then the guy punched me and we started fighting till I passed out."

"And?" Rose shook her head, anxious to know the end of the story.

"Well, while Jack and the guy were fighting, the guy dropped his gun. So after Jack passed out, I didn't know what to do... So I hit the guy really hard in the back of his head with the gun." Justin smiled sheepishly, "I may have possibly, sorta, kinda, maybe, killed him." Justin scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. Well. Wasn't expecting that, "but it turns out I didn't. Just hit him really hard. But at the time, the three of us thought I did."

"I was taking a nap on the ground while all this was happening!" Alex giggled as Justin and Jack rolled their eyes at her. "So after that, we stayed on the down low, those assholes were lookin for us. So we stayed out of the wizard world for a good five months." Alex drank some of her beer and took a donut. This is her fifth beer, should I do something? Nah. It's her birthday.

"And?" Rose stared at Alex, waiting for her to continue.

"And what? This story is getting old. I don't feel like telling it anymore." Alex shrugged.

Justin sighed loudly and pointed his wand to the wall, finishing the story for us. "There you go"

Jack and Alex stumbled into the lair, arms around each other, trying to hold each other up. "Be careful not to mess with the balance of things, because everything is not what it seems." Jack and Alex sang together, totally off key.

"What're you guys doing?" Justin looked up from his book and scrunched up his face.

"Singing. What does it look like?" Alex giggled at Justin.

"Are you drunk?"

"No. We just like walking funny." Jack laughed at Justin.

"Come on!" Alex pulled Jack towards the portal.

"Where are you guys going?" Justin raises an eyebrow at them.

"To the wizard world. Might have something fun to do there." Alex giggled as she shoved Jack inside.

"Have fun." Justin opened his book again. He suddenly looked up, "what? Alex! Jack!" Justin ran into the portal after them.

Justin caught up with Alex and Jack, trying to get them to go home. "Hey Justin isn't that the guy you killed?" Alex yelled as she titled her head at the guy who was walking over to them, "if you killed him how is he still alive?"

He stormed over to them and Justin grabbed Jack and Alex, making them run. But Jack and Alex we're still drunk, so they weren't much use. The guy ended up catching up to them, "it's fucking you three. You three have been causing us trouble for months." Him and his friends surrounded them. "Wanna hear something really special? Boss wants to see you now. He wants to know how the hell you stayed hidden for so long." The man knocked the the trio out, dragging them in the back of a van.

The room was completely silent, until Alex broke it, "Jack? Justin?"

"Yeah we're here." Jack called back, "where are you?"

"Don't know. Can't see shit. Are you guys okay? Did they hurt you? Can you guys move?" Alexs voice filled with concern.

"I'm alright, my wrist hurts but it's nothing I can't handle. You?" Jack replied back.

"Some things are definitely broken. I'm tied up right now, so I can't really move." Alex sighed loudly.

"Same here, I've got a headache like no damn tomorrow. Are you okay Alex? I woke up to Jack screaming and I saw them beating the crap out of you. Jack and I tried to stop them but they just knocked us out again, which explains whatever you've got broken."

"I'm alright, considering we're somewhere dark as fuck surrounded by a bunch of dirty assholes." Alex grumbled.

"Well this is a nice way to get sober." Alex snickered at Jack joke, while Justin groaned loudly. "Ow! Alex!" Justin and Jack both yelled as Alex kicked them both in the legs.

"I wanted to see where you guys were. Well, at least we're next to each other." Alex tried to sound cheerful.

"Alex. We are trapped in some dark room, being held by the Mafia, and we're probably going to get killed once they realize we're awake, I don't really think where each of us is in the room matters." Justin growled at Alex.

"Well someone's grumpy." Alex said in a teasing voice. "Do either of you have your wands?"

"No they took them." Jack replied, you could hear who annoyed he was in his voice.

A light shined into the room as the door opened, "good, you three are awake." More men came in and led them out of the room, "guess what time it is?" The man said cheerfully, "it's time for you three to get your sentences!"

The man and his friends dragged them into a huge room. The room was cluttered, boxes everywhere, nice cars. The men shoved them down to the ground in the middle of the room, as a nicely dressed man approached them. "Ah, the infamous trio. Nice to finally meet you three in person and not through the injuries of my men." He had a thick New York accent. He stepped closer to them, "you would not believe the amount of time and trouble I've gone through trying to find you three. I've never known anyone, I repeat anyone, who could stay hidden for as long as you three have. I've had my men searching every single day, asking questions, and poking around, searching for you. We were so close to giving up, but then you three popped up again and we found you."

"Do we get a medal?" Alex asked in a sarcastic voice.

"Alex!" Rose slapped Alexs arm, "that's the Mafia! Thee Mafia! Did you really think being an asshole to him was a good idea?"

"Yes." Alex shrugged to Rose.

"Don't worry, she gets worse." Justin rolled his eyes, "still am shocked that we made it out alive." I looked at Lex and rolled my eyes, getting a cheerful smile in return.

"Oh we got a wise ass do we?" The man walked over to Alex, glaring at her.

"The wise ass in the flesh. Now I've got a very full plate, so let's get to the motherfucking point shall we?" Alex continued with her sarcastic tone.

"Alex!" I looked at Alex and shook my head. Really smart telling off the Mafia Alex.

"What? If I'm going to die I might as well be a smart ass about everything." Alex gave me a 'duh' expression.

"I'm so dying today." Justin mumbled and he looked up at the ceiling, like he was praying.

"Alright, I can respect a tight schedule." The man squinted his eyes at Alex, "you three don't get to stick around no more. You've gotten yourself caught up in my business and I can't afford that." The man walked over to Justin and Jack, "you two made one of my men get thirty two stitches. Same treatment goes to you."

"Fine. Shoot us then." Alex shrugged, clearly not caring.

"Oh no. Not you, sweetheart. You're pretty, and you've got quite the spirit as well, you don't get the same as them." The man walked back over to Alex, "I have a refined gentlemen's club in Saint Lucia, a fair face like yours will get me a lot of money."

"Trading an eighteen year old, how classy. Good thing I like sex." Alex smirked at the man, "but I do have to warn you, don't be shocked if you have customers reporting lost genitals."

"Alex Russo!" I scolded at her and she just giggled. Why aren't her parents saying anything? Have they seen this bit already?

The man seemed a little taken back, not expecting Alex to say that. "Can I go too?" The man snapped his head towards Jack, "what? I want good dick too."

"No. You're getting shot in the head." The man yelled at Jack.

"Damn. You know that's really no fair. Was really hoping I could join the party. You're lucky Alex." Jack leaned forward, sending Alex a wink.

"Oh believe me, I know." Alex grinned at Jack.

"Oh my god, Alex." Rose shook her head laughing.

"Oh my god." Justin mumbled under his breath, looking like he was praying again.

The man stared shocked at Jack and Alex, "take the boys and get rid of em. As for Miss Sassy, put her back in the room. Do whatever you want with her, she'll be getting the same treatment from the Saint Lucian population anyway. I can't wait to see if she's still got the same attitude by this time next year." The man turned away, heading back over to his desk.

"Oh I will. Good dick is the best thing in this universe." Alex licked her lips at the man, who stared at her in shock as Justin and Jack went in a different direction as Alex.

The man holding Alex threw her into a room, against a wall. He slammed the door shut, he gave Alex an evil grin, he walked over to a table and opened a box, a box full of tools. He picked up a wrench and walking over to her. He towered over Alex, pinning her against the wall. In a split second, Alex threw her fist up, punching him in the throat. The man collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath. Alex grabbed the wrench from the mans hand and grinned at him, before hitting him in the head as hard as she could. She sighed, noting the man was passed out.

Alex took this opportunity and scurried out of the room. She hurried down the hallway Justin and Jack were taken down and followed Justin's loud voice. Justin was rambling at the top of his lungs, Jack next to him. Alex locked the door, hiding behind some boxes.

The man loaded his gun, pointing it at Justin's head, Alex sighed, "well fuck. It's now or never." Alex mumbled to herself. Justin noticed Alex in the corner of the room and continued rambling at twice the speed. Alex sprinted out from her hiding spot, throwing all of her weight onto the man, and they both collapsed to the floor.

They were wrestling, the man on top of Alex, he tossed the wrench to the side, completely pinning Alex to the ground. There was a gun shot that rang out through the room. Justin pushed the man off Alex, "nice shot." Alex nodded to Jack, who shrugged in return.

"We need to get out of here." Jack nodded, pulling Alex and Justin towards the window. Jack hopped out first, then Justin. Alex looked back in the room, searching frantically for a way to get rid of this place for good. "Alex come on!" Jack yelled.

Alex hurried around the room, knocking over a couple boxes in the process. Alex grinned, spying their wands. She picked them up and tossed them out the window. "Catch!"

"Got em." Jack yelled back, "Russo let's go."

Alex picked up her wand, "make these troubles no more, let the gasoline pour." Alex ran over to the window, "get far away. I'm blowing this shithole up." Jack took off, but Justin was slower. He did have broken bones, after all. Alex flashed in a lighter and tossed it on the ground. She dove out the window, not waiting for the building to blow up, she immediately got up and sprinted after Justin and Jack.

There was a loud bang, sending Justin and Alex flying to the ground.

"Oh my god!" Rose shook her head in disbelief.

Alexs squinted her eyes, adjusting to the bright light. She looked around, seeing Justin was asleep in a bed next to her. He had his leg propped up and his left arm in a cast. She had her leg propped up as well, finally noticing that she was in the hospital. "Alex!" Alexs parents ran over to her, crushing Alex in a tight hug. "Alex, you've been in a coma for a month. We started to think you weren't waking up." Alexs dad hugged her tightly again.

"What about Justin and Jack? Are they alright? Where's Jack?" Alex looked around the room frantically.

"Justin's gonna be fine. He's got a broken rib, broken leg and wrist, and a couple of stitches. He woke up a few days ago." Alexs mom rubbed her arm.

"And Jack?" Alexs eyes were bugging out of her head.

"He's fine. Jack just has a broken arm," Alex nodded, slightly relaxing. "He was the only one who didn't get knocked out from the explosion."

"What happened after the explosion?" Alex titled her head at her parents.

"Jack called an ambulance, services showed up and took you three to the hospital. The police aren't saying much, but apparently the explosion you caused took out practically every gang leader in the area." Alexs mom ran a hand through Alexs hair.

"You hungry?" Alexs dad titled his head. Alex nodded, "alright, we'll go to the cafeteria and get you some food. I'll send Jack up, he's very anxious to see you."

Her parents left the room, leaving Alex staring at the wall, "sleeping beauty's finally awake!" Jack hurried into the room. Alex frowned a bit, noticing his arm in a sling.

"Hey Harkness." Alex giggled as she watched him put on a doctors coat.

"It's not Harkness, it's Dr. Jack Harkness." Jack pointed to Alex, correcting her. He picked up her chart, "let's see what we got here shall we? Ah, a broken foot, four broken toes, three broken ribs, and a shitload of stitches." Jack tossed Alexs chart on the table in the room, "and a severe, severe, case of badass." Alex laughed as Jack messed up her hair, "glad to see you're alright Russo."

"Alex!" Harper ran into the room, crushing Alex in a hug, "we were so worried!"

"Harper what're you doing here? You're supposed to be away at school." Alex stared at her in disbelief.

"Your mom called me and told me what happened. You really think I'm not going to come and see you?" Harper laughed, shoving Alex slightly. "I'm so glad you're okay."

"Do you three mind?" Alex, Jack, and Harper, looked over at Justin, who was sending them glares. "I'm trying to sleep."

"Justin!" Alex smiles happily at her brother, who groaned in response.

"We make a good team don't we?" Jack laughed as Justin rolled his eyes.

"I swear, you two will be the death of me."

"We know." Alex laughed at Justin as he covered his face with a pillow.

"The end." Jack flashed the wall, making the memory disappear.

"Alex, I seriously can't believe you." Rose shook head at Alex.

"What? We made it out alive." Alex shrugged, opening another beer. Oh god.

"You're a psychotic wizard." Jack rolled his eyes at Alex.

"As are you, Harkness." Alex got up and plopped herself down on the couch, turning on the TV. Jack followed her, "I got you something."

"No." Alex didn't look at Jack, just continued to watch the TV. I walked over, sitting next to Lex on their orange couch, I nudged her and she gave me a look. "Alright Jack, what is it?"

Jack handed Alex a small box and she carefully opened it. Alex gasped and had a huge grin on her face, "I saw it when we were walking around the shops before we went to the cafe yesterday. Knew you'd love it."

Alex took a red panda stuffed animal out of the box and giggled, "you know I love red pandas."

"I still have no idea how you got away with having Peanut for so long." Jack laughed as Alex hugged the stuffed animal. See? Just a sensitive child.

"I would've gotten away with it longer if Justin didn't snitch." Alex glared at Justin.

"You had a pet red panda?" I raised my eyebrows at Alex, who giggled and nodded in return.

"I miss Peanut." Jack laughed as he messed up Alexs hair.

"Me too. Justin's an ass." Alex rolled her eyes at Justin. "Always gotta ruin people's happiness." Is drunk Alex really all that different from normal Alex?

"Shut up Lexi!" Justin threw a pillow at Alex, who just rolled her eyes again.

"Ted loved Peanut too." Alex frowned.

I raised my eyebrows, "who's Ted?" Is this some ex boyfriend I don't know about?

"The goblin that lives under my bed." Alex smiled at me.

"You don't have a goblin living under your bed." Rose shook her head, laughing at Lex in disbelief. Why doesn't that surprise me at all?

"She really does, Rose." Jack raised his eyebrows at Rose. Rose looked back and forth between Alex and Jack, not knowing whether to believe them or not. She got up off the couch, heading upstairs to Alex room. It was silent for a moment, until we heard an ear piercing scream.

"I'll go calm Ted down." Jack sighed as he stood up and walked over to the fridge. "It's alright Ted, I have some oranges." Jack called as he walked up the stairs.

"You actually have a goblin living under your bed?" I raised my eyebrows at Lex, who was laughing hysterically.

"Duh! Who doesn't?" Lex shook her head at me, still laughing.

"Just about every normal person." Justin gave Alex an eyebrow, but was slightly chuckling.

Jack and Rose came back downstairs a few minutes later. The look on Roses face was priceless. Only Alex would have a goblin living under her bed. Alex groaned and threw her head back against the couch, "oh stop being miserable, Russo." Alex picked her head up and glared at him, putting her head back on the couch.

Jack grinned and hit Alex in the face with a pillow. "The fuck was that for?" Alex picked up the pillow and hit Jack hard in the back. I rolled my eyes, children.

"I got an idea. I know just what to do!" Jack grinned and took out his wand and flashed us somewhere, that didn't smell too nice. I looked around, we're at a zoo. Ew.

"Oh my god, red pandas!" Alex yelled and pulled me over to the cage. "Look at them! Aren't they the cutest?" Alex giggled, staring wide eyed at the little creatures running around. Oh god, drunk Alex running around a zoo, this is going to be an adventure. "Feel bad for em though. They don't deserve to be locked up their entire life."

Justin pointed his finger at Alex, shaking it, "don't even think about it, Alex."

Lex crossed her arms, "fine." I chuckled and wrapped an arm around her waist. I took off my jacket, giving it to Alex. She's freezing. Why doesn't she just ask for my coat? My body can adapt to these temperatures, I'll be fine without it.

"They're adorable." Rose giggled as Jack threw his arm over her shoulders.

"I know, I'm brilliant right, Russo?" I looked down, noticing Alex was gone. "Russo?" How does she do that? I feel like Alex only gets sneakier and sneakier by the day.

"Oh my god." We looked at Justin, who was staring at the cage. We snapped our heads back and saw Alex sitting in the red panda cage, playing with them. "Alex, how the hell did you even get in there?" Alex dug into my jacket pocket, pulling out the sonic and waved it around, grinning. "Get out of there, Alex!" Justin yelled, looking around to make sure no one noticed. Alex laughed and shook her head, picking up a red panda and making it wave to us. Oh my god. Drunk Alex, playing with a bunch of red pandas? This has got to be the best birthday she's ever had.

"Alex, let me in!" Jack yelled as he put his hands against the cage.

Lex shook her head and giggled at Jack, "no. If you're here then they'll be playing with you and not me."

"I'll get her." Justin groaned. We watched him walk over to the side door and look around, making sure no one was looking. He took out his wand, unlocking the door and ran over to Alex. "Let's go." Justin pointed to the door. Alex flipped Justin off and continued snuggling with the red pandas. Alex picked up a red panda and handed it to Justin. He stared at it for a moment, "Alex, we need to leave before security comes." Justin put it down, and grabbed Alexs arm, who just burst into tears.

"It's my birthday and I can't even play with the red pandas!"

"Alex, come out if there right now!" Alex dad called to her. Alex looked at him with tears streaming down her face, "well I tried." Her dad shrugged, "oo roasted nuts!" He pointed to the food cart and walked over. I see where Alex gets her attention span from.

"Doctor, get your mess of a girlfriend out of here." Justin called to me. Alex is only a mess when she's drunk, but then again, who isn't? Justin held the door open for me as he walked out of the cage. Who would've thought I'd be going into a red panda cage to get a drunk Alex?

I walked over to Alex, crouching down, "sweetheart, come on. We need to go." I put a hand on her shoulder.

Alex looked up at me and pouted, "but I don't wanna."

I thought for a moment, there's no way in hell am I getting Alex out of this cage. I sat down on the ground next to her, rubbing the little guys head. If I'm going to get her out of here, I've got to sink to her level. I have to act like a child. "But Alex, do you wanna get the red pandas in trouble?" She looked up at me with her eyes wide and shook her head, "then we need to leave."

"But they're so cute." Alex pouted at me. I bit my lip, using every ounce of strength in me not to laugh.

"I know, Alex, but their mummy's going to be furious if she sees you in here, you don't wanna get them in trouble, do you?"

"No."

"Come on." Alex hugged the little guy and let me help her up.

"Do you think they're gonna miss me?" Alex looked up at me.

I chewed the inside of my lip, fighting the urge to laugh. Such a child, I swear. Such a damn child. "Yes sweetheart, I know they will."

"Doctor? Can we get a red panda for the Tardis?" Alex asked as I held the door open for her.

There is no way in hell am I letting Alex have a little rodent run around the Tardis. No way. "Sure Alex." I grinned at her. Nope. Not happening. Doubt she'll remember any of this in the morning, so I'm in the clear.

"I really can't believe you did that." Rose shook her head at Alex.

"Well. It is Alex." Justin shrugged, we walked away from the panda cage.

"Justin!" We turned around to see Max being held by a security guard, that was storming up to us. Oh great.

"Do you know him?" The security guard raised his eyebrows at us.

"Never seen him before in my life." Alex blurted out. I couldn't help but snort.

"Alex, shut up. Yes sir, that's our little brother, Max. What did you do?" Justin glared at him.

"Your little brother climbed into the monkey exhibit." The security guard glared at Max. Is this a Russo thing?

"I swear, I'm the only normal person in this family." Just mumbled and I chuckled at him.

"You'd fit in just fine there." Alex shrugged to Max. She's not exactly wrong... "Well anyway, his parents are right there," Alex pointed to them, "have a nice day." Alex strutted away from the guard, who stared at her puzzled. Well, Max isn't my kid. I hurried after Alex.

Justin flashed us back to Alexs parents house, "MAX." I turned around, hearing Alexs mum screaming. Well then.

"Why'd you flash them back?" Alex groaned at Justin. I rolled my eyes, pulling Alex into my side.

"We can't just leave them!" Justin shook his head at Alex.

"Wow, thanks Alex." Alexs dad rolled his eyes at her. "Would you care to explain why you decided to go in the red panda cage?"

Alex pouted at her father, "I'm sorry. They were just so cute! I couldn't help myself. I'm sorry, daddy."

"Come here." I snorted, watching Alexs dad hug her tightly. How does this work? Do women just pout and give their best puppy eyes and everything is just forgiven? Well, that certainly won't work on me.

Rose shifted over to Justin, "is that her punishment?"

"Nope, it's an Alexment." Justin shook his head. "Something that should be a punishment, but is a reward." I snorted again, hearing the jealousy in his voice.

"You get those sometimes, right?" Rose looked up at Justin, who rolled his eyes.

"No. No, I don't."

"Yeah, he doesn't." Jack laughed at Justin, "but check it out, it works for me too!" Jack stumbled over to Alex, her mum and dad, "I'm sorry I was gone for so long, momma. I was so scared in this big universe. There's a lot of mean people, momma. That universe out there is really scary." Jack pouted at his family, who quickly wrapped their arms around him.

"Oh my poor boy!" Alexs mum held Jack tightly, as Jack sent Justin an evil grin. Justin scoffed as Rose and I burst out laughing.

Alex broke away, skipping her way over to me. She slammed into me and burst out laughing. Oh no. Alex wrapped her arms around my neck, hanging on me. She went to say something, but I spoke up, "I'm gonna take her back to the Tardis. She needs to go to sleep." Her family and Rose nodded at me, agreeing.

"Happy birthday you two." Justin nodded to Alex and Jack and walked out of the room.

"Happy birthday my babies. I love you to the moon and back!" Alexs mum wrapped her arms around Jack and Alex, giving them a tight hug.

I grabbed Alexs gift from Jack and helped her up the stairs to her room. I pulled her into the Tardis, setting her down on the jump seat. Rose watched Lex while I hid her wand. Guess where. The cleaning closet. That would be the last place Alex would check. I walked back to the console, helping Lex to her room. "I'm changing you, alright?" Alex didn't say anything, just looked around her bedroom like she's never seen it before.

I pulled off Alexs shirt and jeans, walking over to her dresser to get some pajamas for her. "Can we go back to the red pandas?" Alex titled her head at me. "Please. I bet they miss me."

I laughed a little and helped her into a baggy tshirt, "I bet they do sweetheart, but we almost got caught today, I think that's enough."

"Pleaseee." I shook my head at Lex, kissing her cheek, "fine. I'll just go all by myself and ya know, I'm still a little drunk, might just accidently fall into the tiger cage or something..." I burst out laughing as Alex falls dramatically back onto her bed with her tongue hanging out as if she's dead.

"Maybe tomorrow, sweetheart." I said between laughs. I kicked off my shoes and jacket, getting into Alexs bed. I was a bit nervous she was going to say something about me staying in here tonight. Lex only asks me to stay with her once in a while, but she didn't ask. I'm just doing it. Like I'm going to leave my devious wizard girlfriend who keeps trying to break into the zoo to play with red pandas alone. The second I laid down, Lex rolled over, wrapping her arms around my torso, and curling into me. "Happy birthday, love." I kissed her hair.

"Since it's still my birthday can we go back to the red pandas now?"

I snorted. "Later Lex. Go to sleep." I rolled my eyes at her. I swear, Alex Russo, a four year old trapped inside a twenty five year olds body. I wanted to ask about what she was doing in Jacks room today, but she wouldn't stop talking about the red pandas. I'll just ask her tomorrow when she's got a clear head. What's up with Alex and red pandas?

It took a while for Alex to fall asleep. She'd start giggling every five minutes and talk about the red pandas. Apparently all Alex thinks about are red pandas. She only went to sleep because she's mad at me now. Alex kept telling me all these facts that she knows about the red panda and she got annoyed when I kept telling her that I already knew. Note to self, if your girlfriend is excited about something that you already know, act like you don't.

I was just about to fall asleep when Lex started violently thrashing around in her bed, calling out for me. I sat up, shaking her shoulders, trying to get Alex to wake up. "Alex, wake up, it's just a dream." I continued shaking them, "Alex!" Alex shot up, almost bunking our heads together. She had her hand on her heart, panting, "Alex?" I carefully placed my hand on her shoulder.

Alex snapped her head at me and before I knew it she was in my lap, clinging onto me for dear life. "Are you okay?" Alex put her ear to my hearts, "both working." She grabbed my both my hands, "ten fingers," and crawled under the blankets, counting my toes, "ten toes."

I pulled her out from under the covers, "Alex I'm fine, I promise. It was just a dream." Alex stared at me with her eyes wide and smashed into my chest, giving me a tight hug. "Sweetheart, what happened?"

"No-nothing." Alex wiggled out of my grasp, tucking her hair behind her ear, "is Jack okay?"

"Last I checked why?" Before I knew it Alex was out of her bed and in Jacks room, checking to make sure he was alright. I hurried after her, watching her from the doorway. Alex sighed and nodded to herself, seeing that Jack actually was okay, and walked back to her room. "What happened?" I cupped her cheeks in my hands, wiping her tears with my thumbs. She usually nuzzles and smiles into my hands, but she didn't this time.

"Doctor, if you were going to die and there was no chance of us escaping, would you send me home?" My eyes widened at Alexs question.

Slightly taken back, "I don't know." I shrugged at Alex. I do know. I would. As long as Alex is safe that's all that matters to me.

"Well don't ever do it. Don't you dare." Alex said sternly and shook her head at me. I titled my head at her, "promise me you won't."

"What?" I bit my lip. I can't do that. I'd be lying if I promised her.

"Promise me that no matter how fatal our chances are of survival, we'll go down together."

I swallowed. I honestly didn't know what to do. If I was going to die, I'd be happy knowing that my Alex was safe. She stared at me, waiting for me to say something. "I promise." I felt my hearts drop. I hate lying to Alex.

"Stay here." Alex got out of bed, leaving the room again. What the hell is going on? Where is all of this coming from? Alex came back in with a guitar and some papers. "I was going to wait to do this, it was supposed to be a surprise. But I have to do show you now, so you'll understand."

"Understand what?" I shook my head at Alex. It's three o'clock in the morning, what the hell is going on right now?

"Just how much you mean to me and that if you ever send me away, I'll never forgive you. We're in this together." Alex stared at me. "I've been going to Jacks room everyday so he could help me write it, he plays the drums." Alex handed me the papers, "you were so pissed off that I wrote Jack a song, that I wrote you one." Alex snatched the papers from me and started strumming on her guitar.

"Give me your misery
All of it give it to me
I can hold onto it for you
It's not a problem
I just want your energy
A piece of that fractured mountain
I'll take whatever comes with it as long as it's yours

All I know is that I want it more than yesterday
If I was waiting, I was waiting for just one little spark
You are the brightest I've seen
You are the best side of me
And just for when we're apart
I've got a piece of your heart

But I want the whole damn thing
I feel it inside of me
I feel it inside of you too
Seeing forever this downcast blade from the sky
Could never sever through
Not what we have me and you
Burning together and burning forever

I don't know, I just can feel it in the atmosphere
If I'm wandering, I've wandered into just the right spot
You are the fire in my sleep
You are the reason that I dream
And just for when we're apart
I've got a piece of your heart

I've got a piece of your heart
But I want the whole damn thing

Say hello to all my problems for me
Tell them sorry, I can't be around anymore
The years will go on
We'll get older and then we'll die
But we'll get by

And it goes on
Forever just like this
If I could go back
I'd do it all over with you again

I've got a piece of your heart
But I want the whole damn thing

Say hello to all my problems for me
Tell them sorry, I can't be around anymore
Years will go on
We'll get older and then we'll die
But we'll get by"

Alex strummed the last few cords and stared at me. "I love it." I grinned at her. I loved hearing Alex sing, I truly did. Her voice was absolutely beautiful. It all makes sense now, Alex making Rose be look out while her and Jack were writing. "Thank you, Alex." I beamed at her. I'm honestly lost for words. Probably gonna have it stuck in my head for the rest of my life.

"It's not 'thank you', Doctor," Alex shook her head at me, "it's a reminder that we're in this together. Don't think you can send me home while you're in danger and everything will be fine. Because it won't."

Wow. Whatever happened in her dream is starting to freak me out. "I promise I won't." I lied again. I'm only lying to bring her comfort. As long as Alex's safe...

Lex didn't say anything, just studied my face for a few minutes. She got up, placing her guitar against the wall and moving the papers to her night table. She crawled back into bed, pulling me to her. Alex wrapped her arms and legs around me, clinging to me. What the hell happened in her dream? I know I can't keep this promise, but nothing's going to happen. I know Alexs dreams have been connected to what happens that day, but I've got a gut feeling it's just a coincidence. I looked up at Alex, who was squinting at the ceiling in deep thought. I knew better then to keep bugging her about it. I put my face in Lexs neck, snuggling into her slightly. I felt her arms tighten around me, running her hand over my chopped hair. Before I knew it, I fell asleep, smelling Alexs sweet vanilla scent.
