*The Doctors POV*
"How did you guys even find Adam?" Max asked as he sat down on the jump seat next to Alex.
"He was working for an asshole." Alex shrugged, playing with her wand. I gave her a look and giggled. She's not wrong though, Van Statten wasn't the nicest person...
"Lexie." Justin poked Alex's arm. What's up with Alex hating being called Lexie? I mean it is kinda girly for her, but still, I think it suits her.
"Shut the hell up." Alex rolled her eyes at Justin, slapping his hand away.
Alex stared at Justin and he nodded back at her. "Max, we decided that we wanted to share our powers with you. We want you to keep them." Alex placed her hand on Max's shoulder, smiling. Wizards can do that? Share their powers with each other?
"Actually, I don't want them." Max shrugged, leaving Alex and Justin stunned. "Believe it or not, I like living a normal life. In the ten years I've known you guys, you guys are always stressed about magic. I don't have to worry about half the stuff you guys do. It's sorta peaceful."
"I think that's the smartest thing you've ever said, Max." Justin nodded to him. "Wait hold on," Justin turned to Max, raising an eyebrow, "Max, you've known us longer than ten years."
"Max." Alex slapped her hand on her forehead. I chuckled at her, oh Max.
"Yeah, but I wasn't really paying attention in the beginning. Alex told me you were a butler." Max shrugged.
Alex burst out laughing, "oh yeah, I did!"
Justin mocked her laugh and they took out their wands, pointing them at Max, taking out the orange swirl inside him and letting it go back into them. "Come on, Max, I'll take you home." Max got up, giving Alex a hug and walked over to Justin. "Don't forget, my ceremony is tomorrow, don't be late, Alex." Justin scolded at her. "There's someone coming that I know you'll be happy to see." Alex shrugged and they flashed themselves out.
Rose and Alex left the console, I'm pretty sure to go back to their rooms. I wanted to talk to Alex about Adam. I can't get that idiot out of my mind.
I wandered down the hall to Alex's room. "Alex?" I knocked on her door. I hope she's not asleep yet...
"Come in!" I opened her bedroom door and saw Alex sitting in her chair, writing.
"Alex, did you write Justin's speech?" I leaned against her door frame. I hope to god that's what she's writing right now. If not... we're in a world of trouble.
"Just about finished!" She smiled at me and waved the papers around. Thank god she did, I know she likes to procrastinate.
"Can I read it?" I tried grabbing Alex's speech from her.
"God, no." Alex pressed the papers to her chest, shaking her head at me. Why can't I read it? Oh god, did she talk bad about Justin? "Do you know what you're wearing tomorrow?"
"No." I shrugged. I'm a guy, it takes me ten minutes to get dressed, I don't need to worry that much about it.
I sat down on the edge of her bed, waiting to have her full attention. I wanted to talk about Adam, I was so uncomfortable today. I still couldn't get past that Alex didn't tell me where she was going. She always does. It's not even that I'm trying to be controlling or possessive, I like knowing where she is. I like knowing that she's safe and if there's a problem I won't have to rip the whole place apart trying to find her. Where even was she today? "You okay?"
I shook my head, escaping my thoughts. "Yes." Alex raised her eyebrows at me and crossed her arms. "When you're done, we can talk."
Alex tossed her papers on her desk, then jumped on her bed. "What's wrong?"
I scratched the back of my head awkwardly, "Adam."
"Really?" Alex crossed her arms at me and giggled. How is that funny? I mean I did laugh at her with Cathica, but Alex was being so funny about it.
"Yes. You guys were touching each other and smirking and it made me feel weird." She continued to giggle at me.
Alex got out of her bed and went over to her desk, grabbing her wallet. She came back, standing in front of me. "Look." She tossed me a picture. She looks so cute, she must've been about fourteen maybe? Whose shoulders is she on? Who's that man? Is that an ex boyfriend I don't know about? The picture was taken at the beach and it had her family and three other people I didn't recognize. "Well, you know my parents and two of my brothers." She pointed to a girl with red hair, "that's my best friend Harper." Next, she pointed to a guy who was holding her, "that's my brother Jack." She has another brother? What? Before I could ask, she then pointed to a boy standing next to Max, "that's Adam." Wow. He was an ugly child. "Doctor, I used to babysit him and Max. I still see him as a freaky little nine year old." She paused, "he was always at my house when I was a kid. I looked at him as another annoying little brother."
"Oh." I guess that makes sense. I'm just thankful we never have to see him again. "Where did you go?" She gave me a questionable look, "when Suki left, you and Adam wandered off."
"Oh!" She nodded remembering now, "Adam felt sick, so we went back to the observation deck. I wanted more fries," she giggled at herself, "so I left the room. On my way back I saw that someone had vandalized property and I had to go and check it out. Good job hacking into the mainframe by the way." I chuckled at her. "Then I was heading back to Adam to show him and he was gone. So I went to the elevator and put the codes in. And here we are."
"How did you know Gorog?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Ah, long time enemy. Gorog is actually an angel of darkness. He tried taking over the world twice." Alex flipped her hair behind her, "yours truly had to save the day." I chuckled at her, pulling her close, and kissing her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling away, "I'm sorry, Doctor." She frowned at me. "Why didn't you throw him into a blackhole? I was pretty close to flashing Cathica to the sun."
I snorted, "thought about it." She laughed and put her head on my chest. "You were ruthless with Cathica though. That was honestly hilarious, Alex." I chuckled a bit, thinking of Alex hoping that Cathica wouldn't get the promotion.
"Whoops." Alex giggled, "I was a real bitch to her." I squinted my eyes at Alex, silently scolding her for cussing.
"Go to sleep. You need your rest for Justin's ceremony tomorrow." I scolded at her again. Alex rolled her eyes at me, shifting out of my arms and laying down. I kissed her forehead softly and made sure she was completely covered by her blanket. I chuckled, realizing she was already asleep. My Alex is always tired. That's okay. Wizards need fifteen hours of sleep to function properly. I walked over to her dresser, picking up her watch. I turned it fifteen minutes ahead, knowing she'd be late. Women. I walked back to her door, "goodnight...Lexie." I quietly laughed as I closed her door.
I headed back to the console, sitting in the jump seat. I felt sorta excited about going to Justin's ceremony. I haven't been to one in ages, they're usually pretty fun. I hope Alex is okay with me and Rose going. She didn't seem to have a problem with it, but I know she doesn't want to go. Ceremonies don't really seem like her 'scene'.
But I can't wait to go to the Wizard World. I've stuck my head inside for a minute, but I've never actually gotten to walk around and see it. A lot of Time Lords that have gone said it was sort of like New York, always busy, always buzzing.
I grabbed my rubik's cube, messing around with it. I love this thing. I feel better about talking to Alex about Adam. I don't like that guy. Especially since he almost got all of us killed today. But I'm sorta happy that Alex didn't notice that I was jealous of him. She had to babysit him all the time, poor Alex.
"Hi love." I felt arms wrap around my neck, I turned around and saw Alex.
"Why are you awake? You need to sleep." I turned around and wrapped my arms around Alex's waist.
"Doctor, it's been ten hours." Alex raised her eyebrows at me, laughing.
"Has it really? Wow." Guess I was so lost in my own thoughts I didn't realize the time.
"I'm gonna go make sure Rose is up. Go get ready." She shooed me away with her hands, heading down another hallway to Rose's room.
I didn't move from the jump seat. What the hell am I wearing? Alex was right. I should've thought of this last night. What is she even wearing? Am I supposed to match her? Am I supposed to just wear a suit? What's her family wearing? Jesus.
"Doctor? You're supposed to be getting ready! Justin's gonna rip me a new one if we're late." Alex came over to me, dragging me towards my room.
"What do I even wear?" I groaned, "what colors are you wearing?"
Alex stopped and turned around to face me, "what is this prom?" She laughed, "alright, I'm wearing black and red if you want to match. I talked to my dad already and all the guys are wearing a suit, so just put on a nice suit, Doctor." Alex shrugged at me and shoved me towards my room.
I looked through my closet and found nothing. It's just my everyday clothes. I headed over to the wardrobe, hoping to find something better. Alright so, everyone's wearing a suit and Alex is wearing black and red. Just got to find a black and red suit. I really should've done this yesterday.
I grabbed a black button down, a black jacket, and black dress pants. Just need something red. I continued to walk up and down the wardrobe. The lights started flashing in the corner of the room and I hurried over. I smirked, god I love my Tardis. I picked up the red bow tie and the vest and ran back to my room.
I took a quick shower, hoping we weren't going to be late. I'm honestly nervous for Alex's speech. She wouldn't let me read it. I have no idea what she's saying about Justin and that scares me. I don't think she would bash him in front of everyone, but who knows, it's Alex. I straightened my bow tie and ran to Alex's room.
Wow. Alex looks stunning. I couldn't bring myself to move from her doorway. She's wearing a short black dress with red roses on it and red heels. She left her hair down, but she curled it. She put makeup on, but she didn't need it. Either way she still looked perfect. "You okay?" I shook my head, getting out of my thoughts.
"Wow." I forced my eyes to stay connected with hers, trying to ignore how short Alex's dress is. I am a gentleman, not a horny four hundred year old. "You look beautiful."
Alex blushed, tucking her hair behind her ear. She came over to me and kissed my cheek as a thank you. "Look at you, looking good, Doc. Told you, you'd look fine."
"Don't call me Doc." I shook my head at her.
"Why not? Don't think I didn't hear you call me Lexie last night." I felt my cheeks heat up, she did hear me! Alex grabbed my hand, dragging me to Rose's room. As we were walking, I noticed how high her heels were, how do women walk around in heels? Doesn't it kill their feet?
Alex knocked on her door, "Ro, you ready?" Rose opened the door, "awe Rose, you look so good!"
"Not as good as you, Alex!" Rose giggled at Alex. Women. Why must they give each other a billion compliments when they both could care less?
"Come on, take us to my apartment." Alex poked me.
"Why do we have to go to your apartment? He can just use the Tardis to take us to the ceremony." Rose shook her head at us. If I could use the Tardis to get to the Wizard World, believe me, I would.
Alex shook her head, "it's in the Wizard World Rose. He can't use the Tardis to get there."
"I'm going to the Wizard World?" Alex and I nodded at Rose, "yes!" I rolled my eyes, pulling Alex to the console, Rose following.
"Shit, we're gonna be late!" Alex exclaimed as we ran up the stairs to her flat. She quickly unlocked the door, heading for the freezer. "Go, go, go!" I rolled my eyes at Alex. Little does she know, I changed the time on her watch. We're actually twenty five minutes early. "This way!" Alex grabbed mine and Rose's arms, dragging us to the portal. She opened the door and we stepped inside. I honestly didn't know what to expect, I've never actually been in the Wizard World, only know what the rumors are.
"This isn't so bad! It's like New York city." Rose said looking around. Huh, the rumors were right.
"Come on!" Alex continued to drag us. Maybe I should tell her that I changed her watch. Maybe not. Might piss her off. Let's not and say we did.
We finally arrived at the place. Alex hurried over to her family, hugging them. "Wow. Alex Russo? Early?" Her dad laughed at her.
"Oh mija!" Alex's mum wrapped her arms around Alex, "you look beautiful!" She ran in her heels over to me and Rose, how do women do that? Her mum came over and gave me a hug, oh okay. I mean I'll hug anyone.
"Thanks mom! And early? I'm fifteen minutes late!" Alex exclaimed. "Where's Justin? How mad is he?"
"Alex! You're not late." Jerry put his around over her shoulder, "you're fifteen minutes early."
"But look at my watch! It says 10:45." She showed him his watch.
Her dad rolled up his sleeve, checking his watch. "Alex, it's 10:15."
"That's actually on me." I gave Alex a sheepish look. "I knew you'd be freaking out that we were going to be late, so I set your watch ahead fifteen minutes."
Her mum pointed at me, "thank the lord for the Doctor." I chuckled a bit. She linked her arm with mine, "sorry, Alex, but your boyfriend's out dressed your father, he's escorting me." I snorted, I don't see how Alex thinks her family's crazy, they're hysterical. I see where Alex gets it from.
"Come on, dad!" Alex smiled and grabbed her dad's hand. Alex's mum was pulling me inside. I looked around the place. Wow, whoever paid for this is loaded. I walked back over to Alex, wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her into my side.
"Alex!" We both turned around, looking for whoever called her.
Alex gasped, "Professor Crumbs!" She ran over and gave him a tight hug.
"Oh my god, Professor Crumbs!" Max ran over, hugging him too. Is that the guy that found out Alex is the most powerful Wizard?
"What're you doing here? I thought you wanted to live a quiet life after Wiztech?" Alex and Max kept an arm on his shoulder.
"I did! But Justin called me and told me he was being promoted and I had to come." He smirked at Rose and I, "I'm Professor Crumbs and you two are?"
"That's Rose Tyler, a friend of mine, and this is the Doctor." Alex wrapped an arm around me, leaning her head on my shoulder. I kissed her forehead and smiled at Professor Crumbs.
"It's nice to finally meet you. Alex has told me quite a bit about you." I gave Professor Crumbs a smile, which was returned.
Rose poked Alex's arm, "this is what I thought all Wizards looked like." Rose whispered. Jesus Rose, you couldn't wait till he walked away?
Crumbs smiled at her and took off his beard, "how about now?" Alex burst out laughing and Rose just looked embarrassed. Good, she should be.
"Alex." Professor Crumbs raised his eyebrows at her, "I'm assuming you've been good since I haven't read your name in the headlines?"
Alex tilted her head and squinted her eyes. She's actually thinking about it, oh god. "Yes." She giggled at him, "I have been good."
"Ah, my Alex Russo. All grown up." Professor Crumbs laughed at her. He leaned forward, whispering in my ear, "and keep an eye on her. She's a devious one." I laughed, knowing he was right.
"Is Jack here?" Alex tilted her head at Professor Crumbs. Who's Jack? Isn't that the other brother she was talking about? Shouldn't she be asking her parents that and not Professor Crumbs?
"Haven't talked to him." Crumbs shrugged in return. Alex gave him a sad look and I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Attention, attention please." Everyone stopped talking and looked at the weird guy with the fro and tiny glasses.
"It's Hugh!" Alex smiled at him. She seems to be having a good time.
"May I please introduce your new member of the Wizard Council, Justin Vincenzo Pepe Russo." Justin walked out, waving at everyone as the crowd cheered.
"Oh, I'm so proud of him!" Alex's mum yelled.
"And what about me?" Alex crossed her arms at her mom. Alex's mom tilted her head at her, giving her a sympathetic look. "Nah you're right, I'm a mess." Alex laughed.
Hugh took out tiny scissors and began cutting the ribbon. Tiny scissors? Why are they tiny? "Oh are you kidding me." I tried wrapping an arm around Alex, but I was too late. Alex ran over, ripping the ribbon in half.
"Well, thank god someone did it." Jerry shrugged at us.
"Who the hell?"- Hugh turned around and saw Alex. "Alex Russo." He smiled and pulled her into a hug.
"Hugh! I missed you!" Alex smiled as he put her down.
"Did you miss me?" Justin crossed his arms at her.
"God, no." Alex laughed as he gave her a hurt expression. She waved to Hugh as he walked towards Professor Crumbs.
"What's up with the tiny glasses and scissors?" Rose scrunched up her face.
"His family is a bunch of giants. To make him feel better about being average, they give him tiny things to make him think he's a giant." Alex giggled as we stared at Hugh.
"Giants are real?" Rose raised her eyebrows. Come on, Rose, expect the unexpected.
Alex nodded and turned back to Justin, "congratulations, Justin. You deserve it." She hugged him.
"Thanks, Alex." Justin grinned, "I wanna hear my speech." He poked her in the stomach.
"Stop being so cocky. If you don't shut up I'll turn you into a pencil." Alex shoved him away. "Is Jack here?" Alex tilted her head at Justin.
"No, he called and said he couldn't make it. What's up with the beef between you two though? He told me you're mad at him?" Justin raised an eyebrow at Alex. Who is this Jack person? Alex frowned slightly at the floor and Justin dropped the Jack topic. "Don't think that's getting you out of your speech. Go on!" Justin shoved her towards the stage, but Alex ran back to me. "Pleaseee." Alex rolled her eyes and slowly walked over to the stage. "Thanks Lexie." He grinned at her.
"Don't push it." Alex pointed to Justin. I laughed, their relationship is so funny to me. One minute they're clinging to each other for protection, then the next they're shoving each other down a flight of stairs.
"Hi." Alex mumbled into the mic, but no one stopped talking. "Yo assholes. I got something I wanna say." Everyone burst out laughing and turned to face Alex.
"Hey Alex? I accidentally turned my sister into a spider, what's the spell to fix that?" I heard what sounded like a young boy call from the crowd.
Alex looked a bit surprised, "ha! Were they pissing you off?"
"Yes!" The boy called back.
"Ha! That's amazing." Alex laughed. "But sorry kiddo, I don't even know how to fix that. Justin, there's a situation you need to handle." She shook her head, still laughing. "Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm so proud of you, Justin, for getting into the Wizard Council. Ever since you were a kid, that's all you wanted, and I always knew you could do it. As your delinquent little sister and if Jack were your delinquent brother, you should honestly be thanking us. We prepped you for this." The crowd laughed, knowing how true it is. "I honestly can't name anyone else in this room that deserves it more than you do. Even though I made your life miserable growing up, you were always there when I needed you. You'd pick me up when I fell down, making sure I was okay. You took care of me when no one else did. When everyone told me to change myself, you didn't. You stuck by me, helping me grow up, helping me become somewhat more mature than what I used to be. I know I don't say it very often, but thank you and I love you Justin."
The crowd 'awed' and clapped for Alex. Justin hopped onto the stage and hugged her. "I love you too." He pulled her towards the back to the mic, "and I've got a surprise for Alex."
"Oh crap! I didn't put the shrimp in your shoe! It was Max! He told me about it yesterday!" Alex shook her head.
Justin raised his eyebrows, taking off his shoe, and taking out the shrimp, "Max!"
"Thanks, Alex!" Max yelled back. "Well at least I didn't put a spider in your shoe!"
Justin started jumping around, kicking off his other shoe. Alex pointed at him and laughed hysterically. "Seriously Alex?"
"Nope. But it was funny to see you do that little dance." Alex continued to laugh. He shook his head, putting his shoes back on.
"Come on." He pulled her to the side of the stage. "Max!" Max ran up to the stage, joining them. Justin flashed a drum set and a keyboard to the stage.
Alex turned and smiled at the crowd proudly, "guys were getting the band back together!" Alex laughed hysterically as Justin walked over to the keyboard and Max to the drums. Alex grabbed the mic, "not really the same without Jack, but what song?"
"We're gonna play one that everybodyyy knows." Justin laughed at Alex and started playing the keyboard and Alex got a huge smile on her face.
Everything is not what it seems
Well, you know everything's gonna be a breeze
That the end will no doubt justify the means
You can fix any problem with the slightest of ease
Yes, please
But you might find out it'll go to your head
When you write a report on a book you never read
With the snap of your fingers you can make your bed
That's what I said
Everything is not what it seems
When you can get all you wanted in your wildest dreams
You might run into trouble if you go to extremes
Because everything is not what it seems
There's always a lotta people that you need to see
But you got a quick way to get from A to B
Just be careful of who's aware of your reality
You know what I mean!
There's a whole other world that you only know
When you can make yourself invisible from head to toe
But understand, it's not the status quo
Oh, careful what you show!
Everything is not what it seems
When you can get all you wanted in your wildest dreams
You might run into trouble if you go to extremes
Because everything is not what it seems
Everything is not what it seems
When you can have what you want by the simplest of means
Be careful not to mess with the balance of things
Because everything is not what it seems
Oh, ohh-oh
Ohh-oh, oh
Oh, ohh-oh
Ohh-oh, oh
Uh, oh!
Things are getting kind of tricky
But it doesn't mean much to a girl like me
'Cause I can do the things that yo u'll never believe
Even in your wildest dreams
Well, excuse me
I know it's strange, but true
In my opinion, from my point of view
But once in a blue moon, I don't know what to do
It's like a catch-22
Everything is not what it seems
When you can get all you wanted in your wildest dreams
You might run into trouble if you go to extremes
Because everything is not what it seems
Everything is not what it seems
When you can have what you want by the simplest of means
Be careful not to mess with the balance of things
Because everything is not what it seems
Everything is not what it seems
When you can have what you want by the simplest of means
Be careful not to mess with the balance of things
Because everything is not
What it seems
I cheered along with the rest of the crowd. I'm so proud of Alex. From what Justin's told me, she's come a long way.
Alex jumped off the stage and hugged me tightly. "You were great, sweetheart." I kissed her forehead.
"I know." Alex giggled and kissed my cheek.
"Alex, I didn't know you could sing!" Rose hugged her. "Where's the bar?"
Alex pointed in the direction and laughed, "only Rose Tyler."
"Congratulations, Justin." I smiled as I saw him approaching. To my surprise, he hugged me.
"Where's Rose?" Justin looked around in the crowd.
"Bar." I shrugged, Alex shook her head.
"Great." Justin nodded and headed over to the bar.
"Oh no. No, no, no, no, no." Alex shook her finger at him.
"Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes." Justin smirked at her.
"Fine." Alex smirked at him. "What Justin needs right now is the opposite of clean, make him a boy without hygiene." I snorted when I saw Justin change into what looks like a homeless person.
"Alex." He turned around and glared at her. He changed himself back, going over to Rose.
"Of course." Alex rolled her eyes, putting her head on my shoulder.
"Might not be so bad." Alex raised her eyebrows at me, glaring. Oops. Probably should've agreed with her there. "Maybe it would be bad." She rolled her eyes, continuing to glare at Justin.
We watched as more and more people started to leave. "Can we go now?" Alex whined to me.
"Wow, thanks Alex." We turned around to see Justin and Rose.
Alex smiled at them. "What? I already did your speech and your party's starting to get boring."
Justin laughed at her, "I know." He gave her a hug, "thank you for coming." She shrugged in return.
We walked outside, heading back to her portal. "Your brother's cute." Rose said giggling.
"I will flash you into a cage of hungry tigers." I snorted at Alex as she glared at Rose, who continued to giggle.
"Why we're here, is it okay if I see my mum?" Rose asked, tugging on my sleeve.
"Sure." I shrugged.
"We're not coming with you." Alex rolled her eyes. I chuckled at her again. She's so blunt.
"While I'm with my mum, maybe you two could go see the Loch Ness Monster." Rose elbowed me. Oh thanks a lot, Rose. I was really hoping Alex forgot about that.
Also turned around to face me, her eyes wide. She pouted, giving me puppy dog eyes, "fine." I groaned. She squealed, dragging me and Rose through her portal. Great, this is going to be a long day.
