06 ; oh dear

Bridget woke up so quickly, that her back felt rigid and it began to ache like hell.

She had felt as if a bucket of water had been drenched all over her body. As she turned to her right, she saw Alice looking worried. By the look of her face, and Bridget feeling sticky, it didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened.

''Alice, why the hell did you pour water on me?''

She shrugged. ''I've been trying to wake you up non-stop for ten minutes straight. Besides, breakfast is about to finish in 7 minutes, so I suggest you get a move on.''

Bridgets green eyes rounded to the size of saucepans.

''What?!'' she screamed, jumping out of her bed in an instant. She ran all the way to the bathrooms in her kitten pyjamas without a second thought.

Alice laughed, and started to fix up Bridgets bed with a single swish of her wand.

Holding the now empty bucket in her grips, she began to walk down the stairs, and out of the Gryffindor common room.

''What an odd girl,'' she muttered.

Feeling very cranky, Bridget marched all the way down into the dungeons and slammed open the cold metal door that was standing in her path. She had taken up quite some time running a comb through her knotted hair, and also scarfing down some pancakes as breakfast.

She was also very lucky to have caught the eye of Professor McGonagall, who was about to leave the great hall to teach her own class. Without the timetable she received last minute, Bridget would have been in huge trouble.

But by the look of her classmates faces, she appeared to be very late, meaning she would be in huge trouble already.

''Twenty minutes late for your very first class, eh?'' said a deep voice belonging to a man with a rather large belly. ''What a shame, what a shame. You even beat those two pesky boys,'' he muttered, indicating to Sirius and James.

''Sorry sir,'' whispered Bridget. ''It won't happen again.''

The old man gave a large grin. ''It's okay, first day shouldn't matter, therefore you will not be recieving a detention. However, please refrain yourself from continuing this tardy behaviour. Now go sit next to Mr. Lupin.''

He pointed to the only empty spot that was next to a boy whose face was deeply immersed in a large book. A few scars were dotted onto his pale face, and his shaggy hair looked as if it was brushed several times and failed each time.

Bridget grinned, deciding immediately that she liked the boy, and sat down quickly next to him.

The boy glanced up from his book in shock, curious as to why Bridget looked all excited.

''Hello!'' whispered the girl. ''I'm Bridget.''

''Remus. Remus Lupin.'' he replied, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Never had someone looked so excited to talk to him. In a way, it almost seemed flattering. But, at the same time, it was rather creepy.

Remembering that he didn't need any more friends, he buried his head in the thick book once more.

Bridget groaned and scooting her chair away from him, the noise being noticeable by others around her.

''Look's like someone doesn't have any friends,'' teased a voice from behind her.

Turning around, she immediately snatched a quill from James, and threw it harshfully onto the boy next to her.

''Ow!'' Sirius Black moaned.

''Serves you right,'' Bridget scoffed.

''He isn't wrong you know,'' said a voice in front of her.

It belonged to a snobbish looking boy with long blonde hair and piercing grey eyes.

Bridget grinned evilly.

''Do you want some more vanilla cake to blend in nicely with that wig of yours?''

Remus looked like he was trying not to choke. James and Sirius were sniggering. Lily and Marlene shot Bridget an annoyed look, and Alice was trying to wipe off the smile forming onto her petite face. The blonde boy himself looked like he was going to murder someone...more specifically, Bridget herself.

''Oh come on Malfoy, calm down,'' said James with the smirk on his face still visible.

''Don't talk to me you blood traitor!'' the blonde whisper-yelled.

''Is there a problem, boys?'' called out Professor Slughorn who was two rows in front of the blonde boy.

''No sir!'' mumbled James cheerfully.

"Oh dear," groaned Remus, cringing immensely before ignoring the buffoons around him.

Bridget roamed the castle grounds in a carefree manner, exploring for the potential hidden passageways Hogwarts had yet to offer her. The kitchens didn't count, seeing as she found James pestering the house elves for popcorn seeds and blood-flavoured ice cream. The irony the situation was ignored as Bridget ran away from the nuisance; the less time spent with him was for the better of her welfare.

Her panting from the sudden exercise diminished as she spotted a hunched figure leaning against the wall of the supposedly deserted courtyard. Though the posture of the individual screamed Remus' name, the lack of sandy hair failed to confirm her suspicions. As she approached the figure casually, she recognised the Slytherin emblem perched upon a male figure with dark brown hair. His pale fingers were constantly moving against a piece of parchment, the sweat upon his forehead becoming more prominent as each second went by.

"What are you up to?" asked Bridget curiously.

The boy jumped at the suddenness of her voice, his fear diminished once taking a look at Bridget.

"Oh. It's you," he said monotonously.

"Me?" scoffed Bridget. "What's that supposed to mean?"

The boy shrugged. "You pissed off Kalmin quite a bit."

"Who?"

He rolled his eyes. "Kalmin Malfoy, the boy you keep picking on."

Realisation dawned upon Bridget. "Ah, you must be a friend of blondies then"

He scoffed. "Hardly. He's an imbecile"

"Is he really? He knows how to maintain his hair!"

"Valid point I suppose."

Bridget scrutinised the boys expression, failing to tell if he was being sarcastic or not. "What's your name anyways?"

I'm Rodolphous Lestrange."

Bridget grinned. "Nice to meet you Rudolph the strange!"
