I can understand why you hate me.

In fact, I have a list of reasons.

But I cannot comprehend

Why you hate her.

She was a sweet angel,

So innocently pure.

Just an innocent little smile

Perched on an adult face.

She had never known what you had shown her,

Yet you swiped her away

With one swift blow from your fist.

Her dreams went up in smoke,

Lost to her forever.

Tears fell like rain,

And burned like acid when they ran.

You destroyed her,

But mopped up the mess with a phony smile and fake words.

You shook her fragile core,

And drove shards of glass

Into her blooming heart.

You changed her colors,

But sky blue to a dark black.

You knew exactly what you were doing to her,

But you didn't think twice about it.

You knew.

You knew how much it would rip her to shreds,

How much her existence would be challenged,

And how much her life would change

Because of you.

But you did it anyway.

You changed her hope filled future

Into midnight darkness

Because of the horrible things

Whispered in her ear.

And now she belongs

To the midnight sky.
