It's hard.

Life is hard.

You have to learn to get over the hurdles as they come.

One hurdle in particular,

Took me a long time to get over.

It was like a slick, smooth wall;

I couldn't climb it and I couldn't jump it.

But I found a way around it.

Because that's what I do.

That's what every human on Earth was meant to do;

Survive.

I'm a  fighter by instinct,

A survivor by nature,

A warrior by battles.

I may have found my way over one hurdle,

But there will be more to come.

I know there will be.

But I'm not afraid.

Faced with adversity,

I'll wave my flag high,

Because I know I'm not alone.

I'm not the only one,

Who has fear of the world they live in

And what it could do to them.

But I'm not afraid of who I am.

You remember that childhood story,

"I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!" ?

Well, I know I can.

I know I can.
