You hate to say, "Yeah, I knew her."

Because you feel guilty.

Because she wore her mask

Like a shield.

 She hid from the world

And stayed as alone

As she felt.

Nobody knew the hell she went through

Every single day.

She didn't broadcast her secrets;

She didn't even frown.

So how could you have known?

She didn't give you any signs.

She pushed you away when you tried to help.

Because she assumed that you didn't care.

She assumed you wouldn't understand.

What would she say now?

You'll never know.

As hard as you blame yourself,

It wasn't your fault.

Because no one, including you,

Saw her downfall coming.
