Chapter 31: Knives and Bullets

Izuku had made a promise to Eri, and he intended to keep it. It had been three days since he had given One for All to Chisaki, and he had already felt the power leave him. It was weird. In the back of his mind, he faintly remembered how All Might could still use his quirk after he had given it to him. Maybe he hadn't had it long enough for its effects to stay? Had it rejected his body?

Either way, Izuku was torn between being sad to see it go and relieves to be rid of it. The scaring on his arms reminded his of the pain that One for All had caused him and hate for All Might surged through his body. Then he stopped. It wasn't worth thinking about at the moment. He had a plan to put into motion.

First things first, he had to get those bullets...

~

"It's all out. You can look at my blood now," Izuku was smiling up at the man.

Chisaki studied the boy's face. Izuku hadn't fought at all since the loss of his quirk nor had he tried to run, much different than Eri, who ran every chance she got.

Speaking of Eri, Chisaki worried how long she would still be of use. The harsh experiments we're getting to her both menally and phycially. This was the reason Chisaki wanted to try out something new with his Quirk Nullifying bullets. Eri's blood worked wonders, but Chisaki had never seen her quirk before in anyone else, so once she was used up, so was his operation. But...if quirkless blood could also have some for of nullifying ability when injected into a person, with some modifications, of couse, there was still 20% of the population that was quirkless. He was ready to test his theory.

Another think Chisaki wanted to ask the boy in front of him was about the quirk he had been given. He didn't feel anything different and wasn't sure how to use it, but he knew that it had enhanced his original quirk too. His experiment on Eri the other day had worked wonderfully and reconstructing her was flawless.

"How long will it take you to turn my blood into a weapon?" Izuku asked, sounding almost innocent.

Chisaki shrugged. "It'll take time, but if I have your blood modified into a weapon, then I won't need Eri anymore. She's a child and her screams and tears make me sick."

Izuku stayed still, but on the inside, he was barely stopping hiself from punching the man in the face. He wanted to hurt him, but he had to cooperate. He needed the weapons he had.

"I'll be taking a lot of blood this time, so don't freak out."

Chisaki didn't bother with his quirk. Last time had mostly been to intimidate the boy, not to collect samples. He took out a syringe and stuck the needle into one of the veins in Izuku's arm. It was almost like he was giving blood.

Sooner then he exoected, it was over. Chisaki handed Izuku some water and told him to stay hydrated because of his loss of blood. Izuku found all this extremely anticlimactic. He downed the water bottle and stood up on semi shaky legs. "I thought you were a pycopath who was going to cut me open."

"And dirty my work space? No way. I only cut into people when I need things other than blood."

"You've got my blood, right? Now it's time for your end of the deal. Give me the bullets and I'll be on my way."

"Deal? I guess, but wait until I can do more tests to see if your blood will actually work. If not, you're not getting anything from me."

Izuku wasn't surprised. He knew how villains worked. They always changed the deal to work against you. He wasn't having any of that crap. "Dude. I've killed two people already and put a third in critical condition. I didn't use my self destructive quirk, just my hands. I can take you down easy enough."

"You took down two hero eggs. They have morals. I don't. I won't hesitate to blow you to bloody bits."

Izuku had enough sanity to back down and mutter a "fine" before walking out of the lab. He was already planning his esacape. And he was taking down this operation with him.

He opened Eri's door. "Tonight." he said with full confidence in his voice."

"Tonight?" she seemed scared. Izuku wasn't surprised, but he nodded. They needed to leave before things got bad.  Scratch that. Worse.

~

Izuku had gotten good at sneaking around when he was with the League. They taught him stealth and he used it to sneak snacks out from under Kurogiri's nose. He left Eri in their room and went to find some weapons and the bullets. He also wanted his suit back. The borderline prison clothes he was wearing weren't flashy enough for murder.

He found his things in a closet and changed quickly. The suit gave him the same confidence that his hero coustume had, just more ready to kill someone. He slipped his knives back in their place and loaded one of his guns with ordinary bullets. The other he was planning on using the quirk nullifying ones. He hoped they would fit.

As soon as he was ready, he was thankful that Eri wouldn't be here to see him go beserk. He didn't want to scare her. In the back of his mind, he knew it was inevidible, but he wanted her to hold onto her innocence as long as possible. She was still a kid after all. After this whole ordeal was over, he decided he wanted to protect her for as long as possible.

Izuku didn't hesitate to slip out of the closet and towards the lab. If a guard came to stop him, he would shoot him in the head. Or shoulder. It depended on how much trouble the guard would give him.

It turns out that apparently no one really cared if Izuku was escaping. He ran into no guards while running down the hall, which just served to put him on edge. He expected an attack at any moment.

"Looking for this?"

Izuku turned around to see Chisaki. He was holding a box, which Izuku assumed had the bullets in it. He sensed that this was a trick, but he still wanted those bullets. "Just hand them over and no one gets hurt."

"I must say, you're probably the only person who's an actual threat to me at the moment. You've given me a quirk I don't know how to use, you're the one with the weapons, and these bullets don't work on Quirkless people. Are you planning on killing me?"

Izuku hadn't. However, the notion seemed tempting. "That would get you out of the way, but I feel like you've got some sort of plan. I think I'll just-" He aimed at Chisaki's hand with his gun. "Take what I was promosed."

Bang!

Izuku knew he alerted Chisaki's men, so he ran up and tore the box from Chisaki's grip. He then took the chance to run. He'd only shot through one of Chisaki's hands, which meant that death was still a very real possibility.

As he ran to Eri, Izuku began to move the bullets from the box to his pockets, dropping the box behind him. There were seven of them total. He thought that was a sad number, but at least he had them.

He made it to Eri's room and slammed the door open. "Let's go!"

Eri had shot up and ran towards Izuku. The boy scooped her up in his arms and started to run. With his arms occupied, he prayed that they wouldn't run into anyone.

He had hardly felt the fingers on his back before he felt himself explode. He didn't feel anything and knew he was dead.

But. He wasn't.

Suddenly, he was okay. He scooped up Eri once again and ran out into the street, getting far away from Chisaki and the Right Precepts of Death.

He didn't stop until he was sure he would collapse. It was in an alley, which was where he felt the safest.

"W-what the heck happened back there?"

Eri looked down at her hands. "I-I used my quirk."

Izuku blinked. "I thought you said that your quirk killed. Chisaki killed me, right? Didn't you put me back together."

"I can rewind a person's body, but I can't control it very well."

"That's...that's an amazing quirk, Eri! I wish I had it."

Eri smiled softly. "I'm tired."

"Sorry, but this alley is the best we're gonna get." he put down his legs that were pressed to his chest so that Eri could use him as a pillow. He knew his legs would hurt in the morning, but he thought it was a better thing to do then leaving the kid to sleep on the hard concrete.

"Thank you, Izuku."

Izuku smiled. "Don't mention it."
