Steven woke up in the middle of the night with an uneasy feeling, knowing pearl was not watching him he jumped to his feet and put his jacket and slippers on.
"I don't understand why I can't just get some sleep." He muttered to himself.
He walked aimlessly on the beach with the soft rolling waves to help him relax, but he then heard a sound, a sound that was hard to describe. It sounded like a cry, and a laugh put together, being he was by himself he got intrigued and headed for the straight for the sound. He eventually found the source, her back was turned towards him and she didn't appear to be human, she had blue skin, wavy pastel blue and green hair pulled back into a ponytail, shoulder pads, what appeared to be a dress that was grey but faded into a soft blue, black pants under said dress and a pair of black boots with a green stripe at the rim.
"You're wondering who I am, aren't you Steven?"
"What? How'd you know my name, how'd you know what I was thinking but yeah that's pretty spot on."
The mysterious figure rose to her feet, she was actually about as tall as pearl, maybe a little taller, and she had soft dark green eyes.
"My name is Azurite, I've been on this planet for a bit over 5,000 years. I've left homeworld but I refuse to join you and the crystal gems, heh I'm not even the only one, there's a few of stuck here, I guess you could say we're neutral but both sides would say otherwise."
"How'd you know I was a crystal gem? And you still haven't told me how you know what I'm thinking, and and...."
"Now now, I'll explain everything, I'm from homeworld and my kind, well we were used as scouts to bring our diamond their information, so we were given powers to get said information, we were given mind reading and the power to teleport incase we need to get out of there, we're not that important but we were still needed."
"Oh, that makes sense, but why aren't you following your diamond's orders or joined with the crystal gems?"
Azurite looked off into the distance and back down at him, she knelt down on one knee.
"I'll tell you why, but I'm going to have to start from the beginning."
