Six Years (part three)

Of course stiles remembered that night. How could any one forget? It was that time, that his 15 year plan was completely destroyed. After all the looks, subtle touching, the way the other was jealous of them with someone else. Finally, after the 9 years of waiting, Lydia and Stiles finally told each other how they really felt.

That night wasn't sexy, or hot, or dirty, or anything in between. It was caring, slow, filled with love.

"Yes, I remember. Never could really forget, actually," Said stiles.

"Neither could I," Lydia looked at the picture of her beautiful daughter with sad eyes.

Lydia had used her blood sweat and tears with a little help from the Mcalls to raise this child. He wasn't there for any of it.

"Stiles, I'm sorry, but I have to go pick her up from Melissa's house." She gathered her purse, grabbed the keys, and walked towards the door.

"No way, not without me. If this is our daughter, I want to meet her." He walked behind her.

Lydia whipped her head around furiously causing her strawberry blonde curls to hit him in the face.

"Our daughter, Stiles? Our daughter? She is not your daughter. You weren't here for any of her life, hell, you didn't even know she exists! So you do not get the right to call her your daughter, Stiles."

"Well I'm here now, ok! I'm here, and I'm here to stay. You want to know why I came back, Lydia? Why I left my life in L.A. For this town overrun by supernatural creatures? Because I missed you. I missed seeing your face everyday, or hearing your voice even if it's over the phone, or being able to hold you in my arms when you needed me. I missed that, Lydia, I miss you."

Lydia felt her heart break along with stiles' as he said his little speech. She felt small tears form but didn't dare to let them seep, aside from one that managed to slip out onto her cheek, leaving a sad and hurt look on her face.

"I miss loving you."

That was all it took for her to break down, small sobs that grew and grew escaping her. He wrapped his arms around her small frame, giving her a shelter, something to protect her that had been missing for so long. He held her tight, and she buried her head into his chest, and curled into him like she just wanted to disappear. But stiles would never let that happen, no, now that he had her he was never going to let go.

Lydia mumbled something, but she was too hidden in his shirt for anyone to understand.

"What?" He questioned, pulling away, but seeing her tear streaked face broke his heart.

He always knew Lydia was a storm, crackling with lightning and thunder, but when she rained it was beautiful. But stiles had turned her into a hurricane. All the more, she still looked beautiful. She a beaten down, tired, broken Angel.

She hiccuped, trying to squeeze in the tears so she could annunciate her words.

"I-I love you, stiles. I never stopped." Her eyes looked bewildered, like she had been hidden somewhere dark all the years and just seen the light. That's how she felt, though, when she first saw stiles out on the dark road with his beaten up old jeep. She had tried all the years that he was gone to convince her self that stiles was gone, she didn't care about him, but when she saw him there, it was like he never left.

When stiles heard Lydia say those 3 simple words, it was like bullets hit him through the heart, but in a good way. A slow burn erupted from his chest, a burn of feelings, of love towards this strawberry blonde girl in front of him. The burn traveled throughout his body, coursing through his veins.

He pulled her closer, so their faces were almost touching. So close, he could see the kaleidoscope pattern created in her green eyes, shifting from light green, to dark, to more of a blue hue. He could get lost in those beautiful irises of hers for hours.

He leaned in subtly, not wanting to move fast or he might not catch every detail of her that he missed, like the dark circles that deepened but she wore them like a crown. Stiles inched closer, and closer, until his lips touched hers.

Lydia thought she had known what kissing stiles felt like, but oh god, she was wrong. It felt like a slice of heaven on earth, a small glimpse of the utopia above. The kiss was gentle, but the passion was building by the minute, eventually someone would burst.

Lydia pressed her lips harder, snaking her small hands into his mess of hair and he placed his hands around her teeny waist, holding her so tight his hands could fully wrap around her. They stumbled backward until Lydia crashed into a wall, and he grabbed around her thighs to hoist her into the air. She wrapped her small legs around his torso.

Every inch of her was touching him, Like they were morphed together in their own little paradise, where there was no supernatural threats or any threats for that matter that could effect him. They held each other there, in their own little world.

"Hey opal, You ready to head home honey?." Lydia spoke in a soft and gentle tone, scooping her small daughter up in her arms. They were just picking her up from preschool.

"Well make sure to watch octonauts when we get there." He said in a bubbly tone, and opal giggled something that would set off explosions in anyone's heart; It certainly did in stiles'.

Lydia smiled. Even after everything, all the walls she put up to protect her and opal, he was all she really needed. It's been a week since he showed up, and everyone had seen the change in Lydia. Scott noticed how she laughed more, Kira noticed how wide her smile was, and Melissa noted how radiant she seemed after stiles came back.

The day after stiles came back, he and Lydia went to Scott and Kira's apartment. The moment stiles and Scott had was enough to make Lydia cry, and Kira was just as surprised and glad to have him back as everyone else was.

After Scott's house, the two were off to the sherif, where more tears were shed from stiles and Lydia both. The sheriff was more than happy to have his son back, he felt lost after he left. Of course, there was arguing and bickering about why the hell stiles left, but after that, a beautiful father son moment followed.

"Opal, Stiles is going to be staying with us for a while longer, is that ok? He tells amazing bedtime stories." Lydia watched as her daughter smiled and nodded. She always loved it when Lydia told her bedtimes stories, it was one of her favorite things. Opal reached out her hand, and Stiles put his out and watched as she curled her little stubby fingers around his long ones.

He smiled, tears collecting in his eyes. In front of him was his daughter, a piece of him and a piece of the girl he was in love with. He couldn't ask for anything better, he wasn't sure there was anything better in the world.

"Come on, sweetie, let's go home. We can watch cartoons and pick the roses, yeah?" Lydia said, turning to her daughter and smiled as she did. That made stiles cry even more, how beautiful his two girls were. Lydia was a natural at being a mother, she worked so well with opal, always gentle and kind. Stiles looked at the two angels like they were the most precious thing he would ever see.

Stiles grabbed Lydias other hand that wasn't occupied with holding their daughter and laced their fingers. Stiles looked at her and smiled, looking at Lydia was the world, and to him, she was. Lydia returned the smile all the same, the same look, the same value.

They hopped into stiles old rusty Jeep and headed back to Lydias little farm cottage, and they didn't disconnect their hands for more that a minute. Opal had fallen asleep in their car seat that stiles bought for her.

"Well, there goes watching Octonauts. Dang it,I love that show." Stiles sighed as Lydia gently pulled the blanket over opals sleeping frame, tucking the girl into her little white crib.

In the short week that stiles was at the Martin cottage, he had developed an undying love for Octonauts. In opals free time, he would always ask to watch the cute cartoon together. Lydia would just laugh and shake her head as she was buried in her book.

"Maybe we can finally have some time together. There's been so much going on this week." Lydia said, walking into her-her and stiles- bedroom and plopping down on the bed.  Stiles jumped down next to her, laying his head back, and Lydia curled into his side. Stiles' hand wrapped around her waist, and she rested her head on his chest, feeling it rise and fall with the tempo of his heartbeat. Lydia could stay there forever, simply examining his inner workings, what made him, him.

"When are we going to tell her?" Stiles asked, and Lydia looked up at him with her bright green eyes.

"Tell her what?"
"That I'm her dad,"
"Well, I told her when she was old enough to understand that her father cares about her but he couldn't stay."
"You said that?"
"Well, yes. I know you stiles, if you knew we had a baby you would most certainly care. If you didn't, I would most definitely agree that you had been taken over by a demon again."

Stiles laughed, his heart warming. Even after he left Lydia pregnant, with out a word of what he was doing, but she still told their daughter that stiles cares about her. Even if he didn't then -well, it's understandable, he didn't know about her- Lydia knew that stiles would.

"Her birthdays coming up in a few weeks, April 18th, right? Maybe we could tell her then?" Stiles suggested.

"Yeah, sounds like a good idea. In the mean time, I just want to sleep. Working in the garden and watching Scotts kid, Ashton, is tiring. He kept throwing a football at me."

"He, just like his father." Stiles laughed.

"Be quiet, you dork. I'm taking a nap, and I can't sleep without you, so you have to nap too." Lydia said, and she curled into his side even more and he tightened his grip around her.

They both passed out, there in each others arms, in their own world. When there were together, it was like the two were in a protective bubble, and no one could get in and hurt them. No werewolf powers, no swords or super healing. Just each other, nothing more.

Stiles and Lydia were back together, the mystery solving, kick ass, and crazy in love couple. After six years apart, they sealed the gap with their love.

And now no one could split them apart.
