I was petting Zoey and she just started to yelp for no reason. She was kinda flinching and crying really loudly.

I stopped petting her, thinking I was hurting her, and she kept yelping. She climbed onto my lap and started to paw at me and I didn't know what to do.

At this point I was crying because I didn't know what was wrong with her and what was I supposed to do? She was pretty much begging for my help and I couldn't help her.

She finally stopped and I started to pet and hug her because that has always calmed her down in the past during storms, but she jumped away and started to cry some more. So I was scared to touch her now and was completely useless so I got up and called my dad.

She's calmed down now, but I don't know how I feel about that.

Usually she tries to lick you and is always panting and really hyper but when my dad was checking her over she just kinda stood there. She never does that.

So now I'm really worried about her.

She's almost over this awful ear infection and now whatever this is happens?

This is not fair to her. I don't understand what's wrong with her. And I can't help her.

If she acts up tomorrow I guess we'll take her to the vet. Again. Except tomorrow I have school, my dad will be at work, and my mom is sick, so Zoey will be alone all day and I'm terrified that something will happen while I'm gone.

Do any of you have any advice?
