The Bail (Avengers IW)
She was dangerous. Lashing out, hissing, seething. If it wasn't for the collar, she would have killed Tony by now.
She relentlessly attacked the glass wall between him and herself, slamming her body against it. She kicked, elbowed and kicked whatever was inside against it. Nothing caused even a scratch on the glass.
"Are you done yet?" He asked, only to step back when he saw the soft hazel eyes fiercely glaring at him. If the powers weren't contained, they would be lighting up.
"What do you want!?" She screamed. "You captured me and throw me away here to rot! You didn't listen, sure I murdered people but who in the Avengers hasn't!?"
"You in particular, are more violent then us." He explained. He was cut off by a raspberry.
"Bullshit!" She spat. "I act just as violent as the rest of you. I'm no more easily provoked then you. I react to conflicts, not cause them. In only self defense!"
"Yeah, but it's not everyday someone kidnaps a sentient robot and tortures them practically nonstop!" Tony snapped back.
"Well then, bastard. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would have done it given the chance." He growled before leaning onto the glass.
"Shut up. Now, what are you planning to do?" He asked, fully serious.
"Get this collar off, kill a few people I hated here, escape, destroy Ultron and maybe kill you because you're a dick." She responded instantly. "Happy?"
"Okay, you're kind of late to destroying Ultron because he flew off to god knows where. You can maybe kill a person here, but you can't kill me." He said, showing a slip. She stared at it for a moment before bursting out into laughter. "What?"
"You can't be fucking serious!" She looked down and let our a show shaky giggles before eventually stopping. She then stopped and looked at the paper. "Wait wait wait wait wait, this is for real?"
Tony nodded. "Your freedom with a few restrictions. Number one. You may not kill anyone unless given permission by an official in dire circumstances. Number two. You may not kill Tony Stark. Number three. If you ever find Ultron, you are to not damage him by physical or psychological ways and report to Tony Stark."
"Now that takes out the fun." She mumbled. "But it's a way outta this shithole, and that is better than nothing."
"So you agree?" Tony asked.
"Of course I am, dittwit. Lemme sign it." She looked down. "Oh wait, I need my abilities to move my forearms."
"Open the cell." Tony called out. The cell door then released and slid out of the way. She stepped through, shocked.
"Why did you let me out, Stark? I'm a killer who holds no regret in your eyes." She asked as the guards walked over and punched in the code to the collar.
"I need your help. I'm desperate, you're a last resort." He replied. "Soon as I'm done with you, you're going back in here."
"Makes sense, but let me tell you one thing, Tony." The carefree tone stopped. "There is not a day that goes by without what I did haunting me."
"Sure." She raised her hand and placed it firmly on his shoulder.
"Trust me. I hate it. Do you know that Nat, Clint, and Cap have that same issue?" She let Tony make the connections. "We killed, both guilty and innocent, and regret some of it."
"Now's not the time fore redemption lectures." Tony interrupted and began walking off. "Come on."
"Tony, I'm being serious. I may be screwed up, but my mission in life is to kill the ones who are more messed up than me. You guys are on the same level as me, so you're safe." She sighed. "Stark, I regret killing the innocents, but I don't regret killing those HYDRA agents."
"You shouldn't." He replied.
"Then why was I thrown into the Ice Box, huh? I killed like three innocents and a hundred villains. Not my fault I didn't know that they were just volunteers." She exhaled sharply. "I didn't know. If I did i would have waited another day to break free."
"What?" He asked, turning.
"Do you want to know why I waited years to break free? I waited for the perfect day, where everyone that directly and indirectly caused my endless torture was there. Because I knew once I got out, I wouldn't stop killing."
Silence.
"I regret that, I should've waited another year to make sure anybody innocent wasn't in the building." she said. The she straightened up. "Sorry for rambling."
"No. I learned what I needed to." Tony replied. "Now, did you know that half of the universe is dead?"
"No way, when I was told some guys and guards just vanished into dust I couldn't believe it! Is that what happened?" Tony waited and took a deep breath.
"Did someone you care about fade? Sorry if that's personal." She asked before shutting up.
"Yes. Now you aren't upset because nobody you care about is alive." Tony said.
"No. But I'm sure some good people died."
"Good people did die. I bailed you out because I need all the help I can get to bring them back."
