Winter had begun, it wasn't too much of trouble. I always used to spend it complaining about the cold and company. But I felt different, I didn't know why but I was a bit entertained to see the snowflakes dance. Of course it hadn't gotten too far into the winter, so for now it was a little tasteless. There was no grass, the ground was hard and cold, the sky was grey with occasional snowflakes and it was harder to hunt. My friend didn't seem to mind, she predicted snowfall by tomorrow.

"It'll be intense, so we can't build a snowman or play." She warned Wendy and Webber, her cloak nearly covered up all of herself, it seemed to do that often. The fur on it was ruffled as the 'tail' curled around her bare feet.

"You might want to wear shoes." I warned, the cold was starting to get to me, soon there would be no more game if she was correct. I didn't want her getting frostbite over it.

"My cloak is enough!" She replied, "If anyone needs something to keep warm, it's you."

"True..."I looked at myself, for some reason we didn't bother crafting clothing for my insulation.

"Tomorrow's the last day, we're lucky if we even get something today." She shivered slightly, covering her head with her cloak so she now looked like some furry animal. "We go out tomorrow morning."

"Are you sure you two can do it?" Wilson walked up to us, Andromeda nodded, I shrugged.

"Yes, I plan to get rabbit pelts for WX." She smiled, I could still tell despite her face being obscured by the fur.

"We're going with you!" Willow called out, Wilson nodded and stroked his beard.

"Alright, tomorrow we set out to get extra meat and fur." Wilson declared, we all agreed. Darkness was setting in and we went to our tents. Andromeda just sat by the fire as Willow sat in the flames. I'll never understand girls. I thought as I laid down.

Cold, bitter cold.

I shivered as I sat up, my limbs feeling frozen. I looked outside and it still looked bleak, no snow. I frowned when I saw Andromeda still outside by the dying fire, putting her feet into the embers. Willow must've went inside her tent since she wasn't there. I sighed and walked up to Andromeda, rubbing my hands together to generate some heat. She turned to me.

"Are you ready?" She asked, she was mainly looking at me up and down saddened by my state. "I'll find you rabbits today." She added.

"I-I'm fine." I huffed, letting out a puff of steam. "Where's Wilson and Willow?"

"Sleeping, I'll wake them up." She stood and shuffled to the tents. I was worried a bit I guessed that some movement would keep us warm.

Shortly afterwards Wilson and Willow came out, Wilson seemed fine with the cold, always being his extra-prepared self. Willow had set herself on fire, she seemed fine at the flames kept her warm. She was fireproof somehow. They complained about waking up.

"We have to hurry, the storm is coming soon." Andromeda muttered.

"Storm? You didn't say anything about a storm!" I said, personally a little surprised.

"I said it would be intense." She answered and walked off to the east, where the rabbits should be. Wilson and Willow followed with little protest and I decided I would too.

The walk would take a while, I guess Wilson didn't want to spend it in silence.

"So, WX, you changed after the Beefalo fight in the summer." He mentioned to me, I didn't talk about that topic much. It was a little sensitive for me.

"Which one?" I asked, trying to change to topic.

"You know, the one where you treated everyone nicely afterwards!" He specified, I looked down in defeat.

"I have no idea what happened that night, all I know is that I blacked out and didn't respond until the next morning." I replied, not letting anything more get out.

"Do you think Andromeda fixed your empathy module? She always has a knack for that kind of thing." He kept going, even though it was getting on my nerves. "She also asked for gears at camp."

"Wilson, that is none of your business. I blacked out so I guess Darkness got me, and Andromeda just had to fix be to wake me up. She doesn't do anything more than necessary." I countered, trying to deter him from the topic.

"She could've."

"Listen, Wilson, this is more than just empathy, I feel more emotion than that. Ever wonder why I'm more expressive and quiet? I'm simply feeling more than that." I kept walking, we were almost there.

"Do you think she could've been involved?" I froze in my tracks, almost quiet literally.

"Listen, I don't want to hear that my emotions are just from some module! I'm more than that!" I didn't realize that Willow and Andromeda stopped and heard the last bit of the conversation. My 'heart' sank when they stared at me, I uncomfortably shivered. Andromeda stepped up to me and handed me her cloak.

"You don't act like yourself sometimes due to outside influences, this'll keep you warm so you can think more clearly." I stared at her as she kindly smiled at me, I didn't reject the offer and smiled sheepishly.

"Thank you." I said, still a little embarrassed. She hugged me and walked off to catch a rabbit she had found out scavenging for food.

"No problem!" She shouted in reply, I couldn't help but have my heart warmed a little.
