Hider!Tale

I made and OC, she's a human who fell underground in the trash. She made her way to the lab and wasn't seen by anyone, giving her the name Hider.

I snuck around the true lab, dodging Amalgamates. Hideous being that used to be many people once, now turned into this. I knew they meant no true harm, but I preferred to avoid them anyways.

There was the shuffling of feet, not mine, I was silent, it was probably Alphys. I turned a corner and I saw the hunched over lizard scurrying around, probably looking for me. I stayed silent when she turned on a screen and it showed a human, it wasn't me, but a girl with a pink and purple sweater, brown hair pink at the ends.

She was killing monsters, even though I hid from monsters I knew they were actual beings, like us. I knew that due to a small conversation with one, a short skeleton about half my height, wore a blue jacket wherever he went.

I saw the girl slaughter one of the muscular horse-things, I knew they had a name, I just didn't care much to find out what it was. The girl then killed a moldsmal, and then Shyren. I heard Shyren singing, it was quite lovely in my opinion, so it was sad to see her die.

I decided to hide here since it was big, it would take time for the girl to get here, and there were many hiding places. I was guessing it was dark on the surface, so I silently walked off to find a place to sleep. There were many beds, since Alphys didn't seem to come down here often I decided to sleep in one of them. I laid down in one but didn't pull up the covers despite it being chilly, I fell asleep, quietly without any fear. I don't know when I felt this,  but the cover were pulled up.

I turned around and saw who was doing it, it was a tall skeleton, his body was dark so I could scarcely make out any details. I noticed the deep cracks into his head, one above his right eye, another below his left eye. One was orange, and the other was blue.

I pulled out the sharp pole I found laying around and attacked out of instinct. He vanished, I looked around and saw him reappear behind me, I almost screamed. He vanished again, but reappeared down a hall, something told me to follow it.

I stepped out of the bed, gripping onto the pole so tightly my knuckles turned white. I took a step forward, he teleported a little further, the same distance I stepped. I took another, the same thing happened, I sped up and he did the same thing.

I ran after him, and heard the clang of my weapon on the floor as I dropped it. I was chasing him now, my orange and yellow eyes were concentrated on him. There was a white void at the end of the hall he disappeared into, I ran in.

Iwas soon in a blinding white void, only me and the figure were there. I heard my panting in the maddening silence and kept my gaze glued to him, he had a smile pasted onto his face. I frowned a bit, expecting more from him. Why did he lead me into this void? My locked glare didn't break, and I finally said my first words since falling down here.

"What do you want?" He spoke to me, it sounded like  warped static, but somehow I perfectly understood.

"I'm sorry, I don't know how I could help you then." He answered, there was a way, but would I have to be willing to change. I thought about it carefully, never wanting to give an untruthful answer. I sighed, and said.

"I honestly, truly, don't know." It stared at me, rather contented with my answer, and turned to leave.

"Is there anything just in case I have an answer soon?" I askeed, he turned around a if he were expecting the question. "And why me? I'm a human wanted in the underground, they'll kill me and possibly you if they do" The answer, was chilling.

"Child..." That first word made me freeze, I was fine with the garbled speech, but this wasn't static. It sounded calm, sincere, interested... And far too human for my liking...

"You have far more potential than the many, many, others..." He sounded tired, every word he heaved labored. I looked at him to the eyes and reached out, to ask what he ment. He and the room were not here, I was back in the lab. And I was facing one of the most hideous monsters I'd ever seen, a dog amalgmate.

I ran, not willing to be killed by the thing. I ducked into a room and slammed the door, I sunk down heaving. I refused to let tears leak from my cheeks, I would leave no trace that I was ever here. I saw him, I stood up and walked over, the reached out to turn him around for an answer.

He turned to dust the instant my fingers felt his shoulder, I stared at my hands for a good 20, 30 minutes. Monsters turned to dust when they die, was he dead? I looked at the pile and made a horrifying discovery, his from part of his skull was still there, like a mask. I saw my hands reach into the remains, and pick it up.

Doing this was just as disturbing as reaching my hands into a human corpse. But I had no control of doing, so now I just looked at the 'mask' that now lay in my hands. I turned it over and saw infinte space inside, a void of stars and portals to other worlds. I knew what I would have to do if I wanted to bring him back. Would it be worth it?

Yes, my family was probably dead anyways and it was assumed that I was killed too. The inferno was intense enough to turn a body to ashes, what did I have to lose?

Nothing much, my aunt wasn't there to die but likely wouldn't recognize me. I didn't care much for the money I could get or the things that survived the fire. My fingers felt the face of the scientist, he had lost so much  but he had a chance, unlike me. I would give him it.

I put the face on, and I felt a stinging pain.

Soon it moved on to the rest of me. I felt some of my skin wither away and knew my bones would turn visible soon. I kept my eyes shut the entire process, and felt the me I knew turn into someone else.

I felt hollow in my chest, most of my organs were wasted away. I opened my eyes despite it not being over, the dress I wore was a deeper red and torn at the edges. The boots had aged and were firmer, more suitable for the underground. I saw my hands, the bones were visible, and holes had formed within them. I was not me anymore, I was both.

"Where should we go?"

"Out. I must meet King ASGORE..."

"I look like a skeleton at first glance so I won't be bothered too much, but I still have my hair so we might be attacked along the way a few times."

"We won't kill, we'll just threaten them if they're persistent."

"How?"

"My Gaster Blasters."

"Is that your name?"

"If you mean by Gaster, yes, do you have your own?"

"I lost mine when I fell down here, it died when they did."

"Your family?"

"How did you know?"

"We have the same mind, no more secrets."

"You have two sons, the mother died due to illness..."

"..."

"You threw yourself into your work to mourn alone."

"..."

"I met them, they're wonderful."

"...You did?"

"But I'm afraid that one may be dead though, she, the human, no... IT. Is responsible if he is..."

"We'll kill it the moment we see it."

"I know..."

"Do they still remember...?"

"Yes, Sans says hi, and Papyrus misses you."

"How do you know?"

"It's a secret to everyone, even you."

"Lets go now, Asgore is waiting."
