Untitled Part 9
The guardians blinked, looking terrified. Some turned and ran, trying to escape Carmen.
But they couldn't.
Before they exited, Carmen snapped her fingers again, and they fell.
"There's no where left to run." Carmen grinned, her eyes narrowing. Blaze hiccuped from her side, still shaking.
They took small steps backwards, blinking their terror-struck eyes. Carmen licked her lips, her grin turning back to a smirk.
"This is for all those endless hours of torture you gave me."
With a last snap of her fingers, the rest fell. Wails and screams ehcoed throughout the place, finally satisfying Carmen.
Blaze gasped, shirking backwards more. "Can we leave now, please...?"
Carmen frowned slightly, turning and walking out of the main entrance witout another word to Blaze.
Blaze flinched, scrambling after her into the outside world.
"Ah..!" Carmen smiled, throwing her hands to the side and taking in the sun beating down harshly onto the earth. "Oh, it feels so good to be outside again...!"
"Yeah..." Blaze mumbled beside her, enjoying the warmth of the sun rather than the cold stone of the asylum.
"You seem upset," Carmen pointed out, starting to frown. "Is something wrong?"
"..." Blaze hesitated. "Yeah... I'm just... Ugh, I dunno."
"Cheer up!" Carmen grinned, ellowing her. "Enjoy this day!"
"How can you be so calm when you've just killed so many people?!" Blaze cried, sounding slightly disgusted. "I couldn't kill one with a right mind..."
"Oh, I can assure you, I am nowhere near as mad as you picture," Carmen said, nodding thoughtfully. "And, my goodness, I wouldn't kill you, silly!"
"Stay out of my mind!" Blaze snapped, frowning at Carmen.
"I can't," Carmen chuckled, starting to walk into the woodland surronding the remote asylum. "It's very interesting. Oh, I see. You fancy me mad. Is that disgust I-Oh, it's gone. Ack," Carmen winced. "You do a good job at sheilding your thoughts."
"So stay out of them," Blaze hissed, crossing her arms and walking beside Carmen.
"Fire. Is that what you control?" Carmen asked, genuinly curious. "I wasn't ever able to pick up your supposed 'power'."
This comment made Blaze flinch, wincing. She quickly put her guard back up, gulping. "Have you been reading my mind this whole time?!" Blaze snapped, trying to cover up her falter and the question.
"That would explain why you couldn't use it in the asylum," Carmen went on, seeming ignoring Blaze's response. "They didn't allow fire there. Probably because of the patient who had thought he was a piece of wood. He would have already thrown himself to it and died by now."
"There wasn't a patient like that..." Blaze mumbled in repsonse, sounding puzzled.
"Blaze, my goodness, it was a joke. You have no sense of humor!"
"And you have a dark sense of humor," Blaze groaned, sounding uncomfortable.
"Uh huh," Carmen chuckled as they went along, going to find their way back home.
