2: Miss Tutor

"Hello!" chimed the blonde as he greeted you and Mr. Aizawa with a bright smile.

"Salutations," you greet back, smiling in return.

After being introduced to one another, Mr. Aizawa allowed you both to leave until the bell rang for your classes. As you left the classroom to go to your locker, Kaminari followed you like a lost puppy. You pause, turning around on your heel, and look at the blonde.

"What do you need? Our tutoring session is not until later today," you state without skipping a beat.

The blonde chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck as his eyes nervously darted away before you could make eye contact with him.

"Well, I was wondering where we would meet up? Plus, I don't have your number for when I have trouble on last-minute math problems," chuckled the blonde once more.

"You know procrastinating is troublesome, right?" you inquire, not catching on to the joke that was supposed to be relatable.

"Well, either way, I still need your number if I have problems with certain subjects," noted Kaminari, finally making eye contact with you as he awkwardly smiles.

You felt your heart skip a beat as you met eyes with the blonde, your cheeks beginning to rise in temperature. You clear your throat, ignoring this new feeling. You end up exchanging numbers with Kaminari, your heart still racing. Furthermore, you both agree to meet up near the front entrance of the school and walk to the nearby cafe to study.

"Well, I'll see you around Kaminari," you say, about to turn back around to continue your walk.

"Denki, you can call me Denki," smiled the blonde.

"Well Denki, I don't care what you call me, as long as it's appropriate," you nonchalantly retort.

"Then I'll refer to you as Miss Tutor," giggles the blonde.

Your cheeks rise in embarrassment, "You pleb, that's weird."

Denki chuckled some more, "You know, you're pretty cute, Miss Tutor."

"You know, Denki, flattery won't get you anywhere, especially with your grades," you retort back with a sly smile.

"Ouch, I guess I'll have to try harder," winked Denki.

After that interaction, you and Denki parted ways. You went to your locker to hang your bag on one of the hooks and pull out your sketchbook, along with some drawing utensils. After grabbing the items you needed for art class, you decide to go to the library since class would start in half an hour. You usually go to the library before first period, especially since it is a quiet space for you to start your work or simply sketch in your sketchbook.

Once finding a seat in the library, you open your sketchbook and let your pencil glide through the paper. With every stroke, you found yourself getting more and more in the zone, almost forgetting that you were at school. Without realizing it, another person enters the library and eventually makes their way to your spot in the area. The person quietly waits as he watches you continue to draw.

Still unaware of the presence behind you, you pause and slump in your chair, analyzing your sketch of a skull with flowers seemingly growing out of the right eye. You were attempting to figure out how you should shade the sketch and where the light source was coming from.

"I like your drawing," finally states the presence behind you.

Still not realizing the other presence, you answer with, "Thanks, but it's just a sketch. I still need to do the lining and shading. I might color the flowers but-" You whip your head around and jump, realizing that Denki has been watching you draw for a few minutes.

"What's wrong, it's almost as if you saw a ghost," chuckles Denki, giving you a closed-eye smile.

"You just scared me. I get so engrossed with my artwork that I forget where I am and don't even realize other people may be near me," you answer, taking a deep breath to calm yourself.

"Ah, well I'm sorry. I came in to check out a book and saw that you were over here, so I wanted to see what you were up to," replies the blonde, showcasing a literature work written by Stephen King.

Your eyes lit up once figuring out which novel Kaminari picked out. With excitement you explain how Stephen King was one of your favorite authors, claiming that this certain book Kaminari chose was one of your favorites.

"Oh wow, really? A movie of this book recently came out on Netflix and I wanted to read the book before watching the movie. I know the movies of a book can be totally different than the actual novels. It's especially notable with The Outsiders," geeks out Kaminari.

"The Outsiders? That's an older novel. I'm surprised that people still rave about it," you note, unknowingly smiling at Kaminari.

"I don't really hear anyone talking about The Outsiders, but it is definitely underrated," claims Kaminari as you shake your head in agreement.

"Personally, I also feel that Napoleon Dynamite is super underrated," you state.

Kaminari agrees, going on about his favorite scenes within the movie. You also share your favorite scenes, laughing once more once you remember the funnier ones. Unfortunately enough, the bell rings for you to go to your first period.

"I'd love to discuss more about underrated movies, but I need to head to my first period class," you state, packing up your utensils and picking up your items.

"Understandable. Hey, where do you sit at lunch? I don't think I've seen you eat in the lunchroom. Although, I can't see far away very well," notes Kaminari as he follows you through the library.

"Oh, I eat outside on one of the benches. Although, I eat in the library if it rains," you answer as you and Kaminari walk out the library doors.

"Well, I was wondering if you'd allow me to sit with you at lunch. I don't think I could wait until the end of the day to converse with you," asks Kaminari as you both walk down one of the several hallways of U.A. High.

"I suppose you can, but I'm not a very fun person. Just a nerd," you respond, giggling to yourself a bit as you wait for a response from Kaminari by looking at him.

"Well, I like that about you (y/n)," states Kaminari, giving you a bright smile.

Your heart skips a beat once again after hearing the genuine tone from the blonde. Before you could respond, Kaminari says, "Well, see ya later, Miss Tutor," and walks into his first period class. You are left alone with your trivial thoughts as you walk to art. You were happy to finally start speaking with this boy, especially since you never really had friends throughout your childhood. You felt as if a new friendship has blossomed, allowing you to experience the utmost joyous feeling of being able to bond with another person.
