(13) Dawn

🚨INTENSE CHAPTER AHEAD🚨
Reader POV
I woke up with throbbing pain in my head.
The ticking clock proved that I was out for at least a couple of hours.
Memories of the previous night made me jump in fright.
I need to get out!
But I moved my hand and saw it.
Chains.
Around my neck, wrists, and ankles.
"What...?"
The door opened to reveal Kita holding a tray of something.
"Merry Christmas, (y/n)."
He placed the tray on the side table, frowning at me.
His large hands moved towards my face and I moved away instinctively.
Kita frowned and grabbed the chain attached to the collar around my neck, yanking me close to him.
His soft lips met mine and he gripped my shoulders tightly, slipping his tongue into my mouth.
I felt eyes on me and sure enough, I was right.
Akagi, the twins, and Riseki were there at the door.
"Hm..."
Kita moved away from me. "We bought you breakfast. Once you're finished, Akagi will help you. Oh, and he's spending the day with you today so the rest of us can get your gifts since the distraction didn't allow us to do so."
You bastard.
You call murdering my brother a distraction?!
I hung my head, not wanting to talk to him.
"..."
Kita noticed my downcast mood placed his hands on my back and rubbed it, hugging me tightly.
I didn't know what he said as I was blocking out everything, my mind blank.
Flashback
"Kei!!!" I screamed with glee as I threw water balloons at him. "You'll pay for that!"
Mizuki and Akiteru were on the porch together.
Well, Mizuki was only three while Erika, Kei, and I were four.
Our father was off in Spain for some trip, our mother watching us from the back porch with my other siblings.
"Bakashima (Baka x Tsukishima mix)!" Kei threw balloons at me, glaring.
"You dare head into my territory?!" Erika screamed gleefully as she aimed the hose at us, soaking our bathing suits with water.
Kei and I glanced at each other with an unspoken alliance and ran at Erika.
We overtook her and then with our triplet telepathy, we devised a plan to get back at Akiteru who had eaten all our sweets.
Those were the nights of endless fireflies, fireworks, and merryment.
I sat between my two brothers, happily eating my dinner by the fire pit my mother had us make.
She was a gold award girl scout and she knew lot about nature and building fires.
"The fire protects you and keeps you warm," my mother said as she held Mizuki who was falling asleep.
She took a dry kindling piece and put the tip into the flames.
The flames consumed it and she dropped it into the fire, a frown on her face.
"But the fire can also destroy everything. You must contain the fire inside of you. A fire is a complex object that knows no limits. It can be a torch and light the way to victory."
A glint reflected into my mother's (e/c) eyes.
"But it can also be a spark to start a revolution for something. It can do anything and be anything you desire. It's all up to you."
I snuggled up to Kei who rolled his eyes eyes playfully and wrapped the wool blanket around me better.
My mother sighed with content. "My darling children, dark days are coming. Be ready for anything. Take that spark inside you and turn it into a raging inferno to light your path to freedom and victory."
End of Flashback
The others left the house, leaving Akagi and I (aside from the servants).
I had already tried to ask one of them for help, but they refused to.
"I'll never forget what you've done..." I said lowly as Akagi walked ahead of me, talking to one of the servants in preparation for tonight when everyone would exchange gifts.
I also have a gift for you, you fuckers.
I knew fire needed oxygen as well as fuel.
So while Akagi was busy talking to someone, I put pieces of lint and candles I found on the floor in a way that wouldn't be cleaned up.
I'll get out here.
"I can probably get them to get more chocolates..." Akagi thought out loud as he glanced briefly.
At least the pockets in my dress were big enough to hold laundry lint and wax.
Around lunchtime, Akagi fell asleep.
I strung the chains around the hook on the wall and began tugging at it, finding oil nearby from the bread and oil to slip my already thin wrists out of them.
Akagi had already taken the chain off my neck and ankles.
I fumbled around the desk in the library and found a matchbox.
Perfect.
I had no idea Akagi was going to make it out.
Frankly, I didn't care.
I knew he was also a deep sleeper so I didn't try and be quiet.
How dumb!
I located a window and saw a vine stretching from the ground to said window.
It went along the side of the mansion at such an angle that no one unless they were specifically at this window would see me.
I saw a vase nearby and I knew I had to act quickly.
Though the doors to the huge library were closed, the ceilings created an echo that would definitely reach anyone's ears.
It's now or never.
I'll never fucking love any of you bastards.
Goodbye, Akagi Michinari.
If you weren't one of them, I would've asked you to come with me.
So we could be free.
I closed my eyes and climbed onto the desk in front of the window and grabbed a lamp.
I broke through the glass and grabbed onto the vine after throwing the lamp at a particularly big puddle of wax and oil.
I struck a match and threw it onto the pile.
Immediately, a fire was created.
The house was old and it was clear it needed to be rebuilt.
Typically, very old homes were made on a specific wood that would burn easily.
I had confirmed that last night when Osamu brought me to the hallway where the room I was kept.
With the fire already started, I stood out at the ledge and jumped out, catching hold of the vine.
I'll be damned if I ever go through that again.
My feet touched the cold snow and I ran.
I just ran, not looking back.
Get out now.
Escape now.
The cold snow was like pins and needles against my feet and body as I was wearing a thin gown that was suited for summer.
A forest was nearby and it would help conceal me.
I gasped as I felt a cold wet substance that was a small ravine.
"Of course the Miya Mansion would be near a river!"
I didn't care at this point.
I didn't care that I could drown.
I just needed to get away.
I held my breath and dove into the water.
Moments later, I hit the earth and got out, not missing a beat.
True that I was shivering to the bone, but it was better than being with murderers and rapists.
I could only hope that fire gave me enough time to get away.
