Unraveling Tensions: A Hair-Raising Confrontation
Jungkook's POV
"NINA!" I shouted as I jolted out of bed. "Not again!" Elijah groaned in response from the next room. Messing with me had become Nina's favorite sport, and once again, she'd managed to ruin my morning—this time by embedding chewing gum deep into my hair. How on earth was I supposed to untangle this mess from my hair and scalp? I was fed up, and I resolved that today, she would finally face the consequences. Ever since she stumbled upon the revenge list I'd been planning, Nina had taken her pranks to a whole new level.
Day 1
After a long, exhausting shift at the bar, I was finally on my way home, a bag of food from my favorite burger joint in hand. I could already taste the juicy goodness as I stepped out of the elevator. But before I could even take a step, my leg slipped, and I found myself sprawled on the floor in a painful split. My dinner was ruined—soaked in a lake of spilled Coke and Oreo shake that covered the hallway. As I lay there, trying to process the situation, I heard a familiar, sinister laugh. "What are you doing on the floor, ballerina?" Nina taunted, her door swinging open.
I struggled to stand, but each attempt ended with me slipping back onto my knees, the slick floor refusing to cooperate. Nina gasped dramatically, "Be careful; that butter was expensive," before slamming her door shut with a smirk. I wanted nothing more than to strangle her, but I was stuck on the floor for what felt like an eternity until Elijah finally arrived. Cleaning up the mess took forever, and the tiles stayed slippery. But I didn’t care; it was just Nina and me on this floor. Maybe next time, she’d be the one to slip and fall.
Day 2
I trudged home from the bar late that night, every bone in my body begging for sleep. With two of our workers on leave, I'd been pulling extra shifts, and my so-called friends—the best of the best—were nowhere to be found when it came time to lend a hand. At least they paid their tabs. The street was eerily quiet, and the only sound was the echo of my own footsteps, until I heard another set approaching from behind. I stopped, turning around just in time to see Nina sprinting toward me, clutching a... chicken drumstick? What on earth? It was 11:20 at night! What was she even doing outside?
As she got closer, it became clear she wasn’t alone—a dog was chasing her, barking wildly. Was I still dreaming, trapped in some bizarre bar-induced nightmare? Nothing about this made any sense. When she finally reached me, Nina shoved the chicken into my hand and took off without a word. I stood there, completely dumbfounded, until I realized that now the dog was after me!
"Why is he chasing me?" I shouted, though I knew the answer even as the words left my mouth. "You stole his food!" Nina hollered back, already halfway down the street. No, I definitely did not.
With no other option, I scrambled up a nearby pole, clinging for dear life as I dropped the chicken to the ground. It took a few agonizing moments before the dog caught the scent and turned its attention to the meal. Meanwhile, I held onto the pole like my life depended on it, desperate to avoid becoming the dog’s next chew toy.
"I need to capture this," Nina said with a smirk, pulling out her phone and snapping a picture. "Tomorrow's headline: 'Jungkook Does a Pole Dance for a Dog,'" she typed furiously, the tapping of her nails echoing through the night. "Goodbye, and have a splendid evening," she called out, her laughter trailing off as she disappeared into the darkness.
Day 3
Once again, I found myself at the bar—a daily ritual after school to unwind. Today was busier than usual, with a group of guys from my school crowding in to celebrate a friend’s birthday. But with two new staff members hired recently, I was able to sit back and enjoy my glass of homemade red wine in peace. I knew my so-called friends were probably wandering the streets like stray cats, but none of them bothered to join me.
As I scanned the room, I kept an eye out for anyone who looked uncomfortable. I couldn't forget the time a girl had sent me distress signals because a guy, who pretended to be her boyfriend, turned out to be a stalker. That whole mess ended with the police getting involved, and my bar was shut down for three weeks due to inadequate security. Those two weeks were a nightmare, but I made sure it wouldn’t happen again. I hired tough security guards—four at the entrance and another four inside—and installed over six CCTV cameras, both inside and outside the bar.
My attention drifted to the group celebrating the birthday. They were really going all out, surrounded by a bunch of girls in their section of the hall. The birthday boy, a senior from my school, was dancing with some girl in a pink dress. From behind, she looked pretty attractive, with a figure that had all the guys staring. "Just like that, baby..." the birthday boy cheered, his hands gripping her waist. "Hey, hands off!" she giggled, turning around—and that’s when I nearly choked on my drink.
Nina. What the hell was she doing here? Everything clicked into place when I spotted Mona, her partner-in-crime, enter my field of vision.
"Having fun?" she yelled over to Nina. "Hell yeah!" Nina shouted back, clearly tipsy. Why on earth did Mona bring her here? Every guy in the room was practically drooling over Nina's wild dancing. If they didn't quit staring, I was ready to shoot daggers at them with my eyes.
Nina barely paused for two seconds before grabbing Yoongi’s bottle of wine and taking a huge gulp. Did she just indirectly kiss him? How dare she? A few moments later, I watched Yoongi lift her up and place her on the counter. She wobbled slightly before starting to dance again, and that’s when I noticed just how ridiculously short her dress was—I could even see her matching pink panties.
Before I could say anything, Nina suddenly pulled out a lighter and held it up to the smoke alarm. In a flash, water sprayed down from the sprinklers, drenching the entire party hall. The girls screamed while the guys erupted into wild laughter. I couldn’t believe it—this was the last thing I needed! My guards rushed to evacuate the guests, and all I could think about was how much trouble Nina and Mona were in for bringing her here.
But when I looked around, Nina was nowhere to be found. She must have slipped out during the chaos. Furious, I marched straight to her apartment. When I reached her floor, I pounded on her door until the landlord came upstairs to chew me out and threaten eviction. I had no choice but to apologize, feeling more frustrated than ever thanks to that foolish girl who thought pulling a prank would have me begging her for mercy.

"Where is she?" I demanded, barging into their apartment before Emily could even finish opening the door.
"She's in the shower—you can't just—" Emily's protest fizzled out as I brushed past her, determination fueling my every step. I was about to pound on the bathroom door, fully intending to drag Nina out, when it suddenly swung open on its own. There she was, standing in the doorway like she had all the time in the world.
"Your face, first thing in the morning—definitely not a sight I was looking forward to," Nina sighed dramatically, shaking her head in mock disappointment.
Her half-damp hair clung to her shoulders, the wet strands contrasting with the few that hung in front, droplets of water sliding down her skin only to be absorbed by the pink towel wrapped tightly around her body.
"And your hair looks pretty ridiculous. What salon did you—"
Before she could finish her sentence, I grabbed both of her wrists, lifting them up as I backed her into the bathroom with my body. She barely had time to react, her eyes widening in shock. "I see you’ve given Pearl and Zara a bath," I said, my voice low and steady as I glanced pointedly at the towel.
"How did you know...?" she gasped, still too stunned to fight back.
"We shared a room just a few days ago, remember?" I replied, my tone leaving no room for doubt.
After returning from the mountain, I got back to our room much later than expected. The moment I stepped inside, I heard Nina’s voice coming from the bathroom, chatting with someone. At first, I thought it was Kyle, the notorious prankster, but then I heard Nina call out for Pearl and Zara. My curiosity piqued, I quietly approached the bathroom door, which was slightly ajar, and peeked inside.
"You’re such good girls, boobies... I love you both," Nina cooed, her tone affectionate and oddly intimate. "I’ll use the chocolate lotion this time instead of the vanilla one." She whispered, leaning down toward her chest as if speaking directly to them. I stifled a laugh, realizing who Pearl and Zara were. At least she had a towel on; otherwise, I would’ve been face-to-face with Pearl and Zara myself.
As she suddenly struggled to free herself from my grasp, I retrieved the scissors I had brought along after cutting out the chewing gum she’d stuck in my hair earlier. "What are you doing?" Nina demanded, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"Chopping off your hair, can’t you see?" I replied, my voice dripping with mockery as I brought the scissors dangerously close to her damp locks. But before I could make a move, she bit down hard on my cheek, causing me to drop the scissors in surprise. Nina quickly kicked them under her bed, a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.
"How could you? You ruined my hair!" I snapped, yanking her closer in frustration.
"You were going to do it to me anyway, so I beat you to it," she chuckled darkly, her laughter echoing around the small room.
"I wasn’t going to," I protested, my voice rising.
"You were lying."
"I WAS NOT!"
Silence fell over the room, thick and suffocating. I shook her vigorously, my anger boiling over, and before I knew it, her towel slipped from her body, pooling on the floor. Both of our eyes locked in shock, neither of us daring to move. My hands remained frozen on her shoulders, and her chest rose and fell quickly, matching the intensity of the moment.
"Don’t you dare," she hissed as I tried to shift my gaze away from her. But I couldn’t help it. My curiosity got the better of me. I gulped, taking a sharp breath, and allowed my eyes to drop, taking in what I knew I shouldn’t.
"JUNGKOOK!" she screamed, her voice a mix of outrage and embarrassment.
But even as her yell echoed in my ears, I knew one thing for certain: I would never regret my decision. It was, without a doubt, the best day of my life.
Best day of my life
