Chapter 16
"What did you do to her?" Rikan yelled.
Daeva smirked. "Calm down, prince boy. I didn't do anything, and neither did Jen. Besides, she's in a suspension tank. She'll be fine. As long as you cooperate, of course."
He growled but Thia placed a hand on his arm to keep him from doing anything rash.
"What do you mean that you didn't do anything?" Thia asked.
"I didn't do anything to her." She smiled wickedly and poked a finger a Thia. "You did."
Rikan looked shocked, but so did Thia. "What? I did nothing!"
Daeva shrugged.
"What do you want?" Rikan asked sharply.
"Want? I don't want anything. Need? Yes. I need something. And that something is you." Daeva's eyes turned maniacal. Thia, Rikan, and even Jen, took a small step back. "Oh, don't run. I'm not going to hurt you. That is, if you do what I say."
"And..." Thia prompted.
"You're going to resurrect Her Majesty."
"Who?"
"Her Majesty."
"Do you mean Levana?" Rikan wondered.
Daeva seethed. "Never, ever, ever, use her name."
The twins looked at each other. They knew what Daeva wanted them to do.
"I want you to resurrect Levana."
---
The door to her room creaked open.
"Hello?" she called.
No answer.
The door slammed shut.
"Who's there?"
Silence.
Shadows danced up and down the walls.
She braced herself, knowing attack could come at any moment.
She was right.
She tripped over someone's foot and fell with a growl, immediately getting back on her feet. She stretched her gift out and felt for bioelectricity in the air.
There. Hiding in the corner behind her bed.
Thwip. A dart imbedded itself into her leg. Tranquilizer, it seemed. She sensed her attacker waiting for her to drop, but she didn't. Despite slight dizziness, she was fine. The few mutated wolf genes she had must have been keeping her strong.
Her attacker flung themselves at her. She dodged easily. Her wolf genes were finally coming out. A growl made its way up her throat as she faced her attacker. Her eyes widened as she saw their face.
"Thia?"
Thia growled and launched herself again.
She dodged. Whoever that was, it was definitely not Thia. At least, Thia in her right mind.
She didn't have time to think any longer though, as her bed was suddenly pushed towards her. She was distracted and didn't have time to move before it crashed into her knees, and she fell. It would probably leave bruises. She tried to get back up but saw a knife flying at her in the corner of her vision. She raised her hand to grab it around the hilt but missed by mere inches and grabbed the blade. She winced as her hand started to bleed. But at least she had a weapon. Again, she had no time to think because Thia yanked her up off her feet and had a knife to her throat.
How many knives did she have?
Her own knife was useless though, as she would be killed the second she tried to use it.
"What do you want?" she asked as she slowly reached out with her Lunar gift and started to tighten her hold on Thia's mind.
Thia did not answer, however, as she was working on getting control of her own body. In the end, she succeeded, her gift being much stronger.
She fell to the floor and cried out as she her body moved of its own accord. She saw Thia smile and knew she was being controlled.
"What are you going to do to me?"
Thia did not open her mouth, yet she heard her voice loud and clear.
I am taking you back to me.
"To you?"
Yes.
She realized that someone was speaking through Thia and controlling her the same way she was being controlled.
You will be a very useful bargaining chip, fiery one. Yes, yes, you will. The voice laughed.
"I'm not going to tell you anything!"
Oh, really. Well, that's too bad, but I have my ways.
As she was being blindfolded, she silently vowed not to give up any secrets, no matter what they did to her. She felt a prick in her leg and knew she had been shot with another tranquilizer.
She knew what would happen to her if she didn't give anything away. But she still wasn't going to tell them.
Her eyes fluttered closed, and she knew.
They were going to torture her.
---
"Hurry up, little brother!" Daeva shouted.
"I'm trying," Jen snapped. "But they are being extremely difficult." He turned to Thia. "Could you possibly make this a little easier for me? She's going to take all her anger out on me."
Thia sneered. "And I would care because...?"
Jen huffed and Rikan glanced between the two. Something definitely happened.
"Whatever. Just move," Jen said, and rolled his eyes. He yanked them forward by the chain connecting their cuffs.
Thia hissed. "I hate you."
Jen glared at her. "I hate you too."
Rikan rolled his eyes. They were about to resurrect Luna's most evil ruler, and they were arguing over virtually nothing.
"Hurry up!" Daeva screamed.
"We're coming!" Jen shouted back.
"I'm so sick of you," Thia grumbled. She pushed ahead and walked faster to where Daeva was waiting.
When they all reached Daeva, they stopped. It was a grey landscape. Grey moonrock. Grey sky. Grey tombstones.
"Why are we at a graveyard?" Thia asked quietly.
"You're going to resurrect Her Majesty, of course," Daeva answered.
"But wasn't she burned? All that's left of her is ashes," Rikan said.
"Yes," Jen replied. "But her ashes were buried."
"Seems like a waste of space to me," Thia commented. "How are we supposed to resurrect a pile of ashes?"
"Don't question me, Princess," Daeva growled.
After a minute of silence, Thia said, "Are we supposed to be doing something?"
"Don't question me!"
Through the dim light, Rikan noticed that Daeva was sprinkling something around the grave and pointed it out to Thia. Daeva continued sprinkling the stuff for a good five minutes before stepping back. Blue fire shot up from the stuff she had sprinkled.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Thia wondered.
Daeva turned to her with a maniacal grin on her face. The blue firelight did nothing to help the image. "Oh, you're going to resurrect Her Majesty now."
A/N:
First off, I want to say: I AM SO SO SO SO SORRY!!! This chapter took me FOREVER. I have no excuse for putting it off this long. In the beginning, I had a lot of homework and stuff so I couldn't get to this. Then, when I had about two thirds of the chapter written, I got writer's block 😥. Yeah... not fun. But, I wanted to thank Caticorn_Meow for pushing me to finish writing. So, here it is!! I hope you enjoyed it!! 😁😊
Second: What do you think?? I have to admit, the ending was a little bit rushed, but I think it turned out okay in the end. What do you think will happen? Does Levana *shudder* get resurected?? *shuddershudder*
ONLY I KNOW!! MWAHAHAHAHA!! (Though Caticorn_Meow will try to get it out of me 😋)
Third: If you see any errors in my writing, feel free to point it out! (Thank you to Caticorn_Meow for doing that 🤗!) If you do, please do it in a polite way 😊. I want to make my writing the best that it can be, so any suggestions you have are appreciated!!
Wow. I just realized that I mentioned Caticorn_Meow a lot in this author's note 😅. But they are an AMAZING person! Check out their profile!
So, anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!!! Thank you for sticking with Thia (and me!) this far!! Please comment what you think of each chapter!!
Until next time! (And hopefully that won't be too long 😄)
