Avni's POV :

"My biological mom?" I mumbled.

I turned towards my husband with the tears filled in my eyes.

He looked hurt and helpless, each step he took forward I started moving back and finally I ran towards my room crying.

I could hear him calling my name, I didn't have courage to look back. I ran in lightning speed to my room and locked it.

I fell on bed and started crying. After sometime I felt drowsy due to crying and empty stomach. I don't remember eating anything. last, I had something was in the airport.

I heard the door opening sound. I woke up to find my handsome husband looking into my eyes.

"How did you open the door??? It was locked from inside " I said.

"Sweetheart, it's my house and I do have spare keys “he said in a calm tone.

"But still, you can't enter girl's room without her permission" I replied.

He smirked and said "hmmm... that's true, but husband can enter wife's room and fulfil her desires!! Am I right wifey!".

I was speechless. He started moving towards me.

"Will you please stop coming near me. I’ll admit, I feel something in my brain whenever you are next to me" I said lowering my head.

He chuckled and said " I know my snuggle bear, your hormones go out of control when you see me" and continued "what will be your condition when I'm inside you!! Let’s try that and we'll see".

That triggered my anger. I started yelling at him "What's your problem? huh!? At least I'm not hiding anything unlike you."

He asked annoyingly” why are you being so cranky?! Are you on your monthly crises?"

"No... I’m not... Why are you irritating me? At least my dad used to bear my mood swings...! Dad ...!! Where is my phone!? I need to speak to my dad now!" I said in excitement.

"You are in safe hands Avni. I have already sent a message to your dad that you are busy in Maahi's wedding". He said in a cold tone.

"Who gave you the permission to use my phone!!? Maahi is not married! How can you lie to my dad like that?" I screamed.

"I'm your husband. I don’t want to disclose about Maahi's wedding. I'm just protecting you." He said in anger.

"Protecting me!!?? Oh please..." I started laughing.

"Of course, I’m protecting you. What's funny in that?" He said feeling irritated.

"I need a protection from you, rather than you protecting me. Did you ever heard a lion protecting a sheep??" I said.

"Fine... I know you won't believe but still... I protected you by getting sold to a random person" he said.

"What...what are you talking about?" I asked in confusion.

"Yes Avni... you need to be strong, because you need to know that your dad was going to sell you to some random people for money" he said slowly holding my hands.

I was furious.
"What rubbish??! My dad loves me more than his life. He will never think like that" I said in disbelief.

"Fine...you watch in your own eyes" he said connecting his cell phone to the tv.

I could see my dad in the screen. Tears filled with happiness in my eyes.
Before I could celebrate my happiness
I saw myself entering his cabin and asking his permission to go out for a movie with Maahi.

"Its ... a week before I saw you in the cafe...Why are you making me watch this cctv footage.?" I said getting irritated.

"Have patience snuggle bear. Stop giving me looks and watch what your dad is doing?" He said and played the video again.

Dad agreed for the movie and I went near the door. I was too excited for the movie to notice that Jay entering dad's office.
He was watching me till I reach the elevator, and he closed the office door.

Jay seated in front of my dad and started speaking " I want Avni Kapoor. What's her price??”.

My dad started laughing "she is not a toy which is kept for sale, she is my daughter and however its decided that Arjun, my wife's brother is marrying her within this month".

I was stunned. I hate that Arjun, he is kind of pervert. Why dad decided my wedding with him?

"I know your plan... Avni's property worth is 25 billion dollars. I’ll pay you 50 billion dollars. All I want is Avni in return. Think about it. It's a very interesting offer" Jay said with a smirk.

My dad thought for few seconds and said "Did you bring the contract papers along??"

"Stop....stop... This video is morphed. The person in this video is not my dad!" I said screaming.

"Avni....listen to me Avni...this is not a fake video. Even you know it. Can't you understand he never loved you as a daughter. It was all fake to ultimately get you married to your mom's brother. He never cared for you, all he wanted was your money and property. It’s better that you accept this bitter truth soon" He said holding my chin.

I was devastated. My own dad wanted to sell me to an unknown person. I felt weak. Before I could fall on ground pair of strong arms held my waist. I had a blurred vision due to non-stop tear secretion in my eyes.

I was placed in bed and he hugged me. Due to his Cologne I recognized it’s my husband.

He hugged me tightly and started rubbing my back as though he is assuring me that he is there for me.
He was telling soothing words in my ears.

How can my dad do such things.
This made me cry even more? I cried till I lost my consciousness.

When I gained consciousness, an IV was attached to my vein and I could see my husband sleeping in chair, holding my hand. I was silent for few minutes analysing what is actually happening in my life.

How everything changed in two days, how my life started moving in different direction. How I’m staying with unknown people.
How my own dad wanted to sell me. This whole experience shakes me to the core. I’m so confused and lost in this maze.
These new experiences made to abandon my peace of mind and it left my heart broken.

“hmmm… I see my snuggle bear has woken up from her beauty sleep” my husband said.

“Are you mocking me?” I asked.

“Look what you have made to yourself, don’t forget that you are the soul responsible for your today’s condition. If you didn’t hit my nerve, you wouldn’t have known about him and would pass out due to stress.” He said in anger.

I started crying and said “...then... what should I have done?? Do you know what I’m actually going through?... I’m around some random people, married to an unknown person. My best friend hates me and today I found that my dad whom I used to admire as a hero of my life became villain. He wanted to sell me to a random person. I can’t understand…why Maahi’s parents are around and they aren’t helping me… May … Maybe they are also upset because of me.”

Aaryan sat in my bed and hugged me tightly and said “all you need to know is I’m the hero of your life. You are not ready to know the harsh reality of your own existence Avni… I’m trying hard to protect you from all of these… Trust me Avni…”

I couldn’t see him sad and my tongue once again betrayed me “I trust you Ryan… and I’ll be honest with you, I trust you because I don’t have any options”

Suddenly door opened and Jay entered the room, I started boiling in anger.

“Aaryan when did she woke up? How is she now? Why are you sitting so close?” Jay asked.

“Get the hell out of my room pumpkin. How dare you! You wanted me? You are the one who bribed my dad.” I screamed at Jay.

“So… finally you found out. The plan was only to save you Avni… I never had any wrong intensions. I have scarified many things just to save you Avni… it was my duty to do so… You are like a little sister to me Avni”. He said feeling hurt.

I was stunned to hear this confession. I asked him “why did you bribe my dad?”

“To protect you Avni… I’m relieved. Now you are Aaryan’s responsibility.” He said and went out.
